#it always strikes me how naturally jopson takes to command #being promoted from steward to 5th in command of the whole freaking thing might make someone a bit wary #to give orders and take control of a whole situation like that #but my man has no problem figuring out what needs doing and keeps a cool head! #i want to put him in a terrarium and tap on the glass - @marshmallow--galaxies

#the terror #thomas jopson #bestie ur tags are *chef's kiss* which is why i had to reblog them #but yes. this exactly #what always strikes me as hilarious about hickey trying to use jops's impromptu promotion to rile up hodge and the remaining crew members #is that while it works to a degree; it doesn't ever really have that “let's all hate on the nepo-baby” impact that hickey was going for #partly because he's never been a sailor before dabbing poor cornelius and leaving him in the canal; and so has no functional knowledge of #shipboard life or the complex hierarchy that goes along with it save what he gleans in the course of a scant few years #but also because none of the crew can actually accuse jopson of nepo behaviour at all #since he's one of the most earnest; hard-working and compassionate men on the expedition; who also just so happens to be #insanely good and talented at everything he tries his hand at; including being a natural-born leader and hypercompetent officer #anyway i stan one (1) certified badass motherfucker and his name is thomas jopson
