A gaming streamer with Autism and ADHD? Oh, how original.
I'm a gaming streamer with Autism and ADHD, impacting my style. I tend to forget and follow rituals. I'm tracking progress in a blog. Future posts will include ramblings, Sims diaries, and game recaps.
Hey there! I’m a gaming streamer who happens to have Autism and ADHD. I wanted to give streaming a try nonetheless. Right now, my streams are mostly tests where I get to experiment with software, technology, and other aspects of my daily life. I wanted to mention my diagnoses because they impact my streaming style. For example, I tend to forget things I’ve just said or done, and I follow rituals…

Gameplay Mechanics The Sims Games through Tumblr
Gameplay Mechanics The Sims Games through Tumblr - As the gameplay mechanics of the McKays' Sims are unique in that they are based on prevalent societal conceptions of the material world, yet woven with a distinctive level of flexibility. As such, free will is a monumental part of the gameplay and creating storylines. The game is designed to be playful and flexible; however, the introduction of playful and flexible gameplay means that far-reaching mayhem over the story and the world is possible. The ability to custom-create characters, families, houses, workplaces, towns, and cities, not just in terms of looks and aesthetics but also in terms of a different underlying character creation, comes with an associated large portion of ill will. With the possibility to make choices, there exist the chances of making the wrong choice.

The software uses generative techniques to generate content and is to be experienced alone – many use the game to avoid real-world problems. But, at the same time, The Sims, as a user-generated content platform, promotes rather than challenges traditional stereotypes. The base game is described as a "sandbox" experience. When accessing a friend's game with no add-ons, using the base game, the Sims framework promotes a constructionist interpretation of the world; the vanilla game is described as being, in a sense, policy-producing in its promotion of "the traditional" through the systematization of types from biophysical, social, cultural, ethical, and moral codes, in order to enable a player to conceive in dynamic and consistent games.
Character Creation
Character creation in The Sims is both a very mechanical process and an often reflexive, creative act. Its players adapt a system of menus, sliders, mouth corners, size selectors, and opacity settings to give physical form to their virtual people. Personality is communicated in two methods: by either selecting traits from a list of adjectives and deciding in which order their texts affect their protagonists, or allowing the game to decide the personality from a palette of predetermined percentages. This work involves a cyclical process of adjustment, during which players constantly gesture with their avatars, cycle through all the game's camera settings, change the light, and adjust the visual equivalence to brighten the man's face anywhere. Players steer other aspects of the realization of their Sim's identity using a graphically simulated genetic recombination of two existing Sims. A cursory search also reveals a deeply involved form of creativity in the ways the community of Sims players creates and shares their characters. Sims custom creators share their Sims, often satisfying the TV show or movie style guidelines.
Both the creativity and the control of its material expression are essential to the experience of Sim creation. This process is underpinned by mechanical constraints in the game's architecture. Sliders and percentages that define the virtual body often do not tune individual Sim features in the way that a different game mechanic or external software might. Changing the body type is difficult because the game employs a genetic algorithm in its realization of Sim genetics, and not merely a recombination of physiognomies the player previously created. Consequently, Sims players tend to define the company that the player creates her real self by tampering with some of the game's character creation options, or through game changes and modifications independently created by the player community. Its players, then, describe the Sim related to their logic as a vector of social mechanics, expressing their inclination to build stories with which they have a powerful tool always at their disposal.

Building and Design
Building and Design. Building stuff isn’t actually what the game is about anyway: if the game can be about anything, it’s about building your house and controlling your weird little virtual people. But people use the game to build—and re-enact—lots of things. People build famous landmarks or cities, or recreate their favorite games, or a space marine deathmatch tournament. Then the game switches from being a tactful dig at consumer culture to being tactical. Instead of complaining about the cost of virtual furniture, it competes in the ‘expensive furniture’ Olympics by building more expensive furniture.
The game fosters this. It’s conceptually extremely pernicious and effective in encouraging you to spend your hard-earned money on a few new paintings and some shabby furniture, let me tell you. The game is focused on interior decoration mostly. With the graphics and the underpinning simplification of objects down into all equating to little more than a price, the game is more of an interior decorating game than a game about legitimate architecture. The ease of the platform kind of de-kings me from Creative Tyrant Status as well. If I want to live in an unassailably huge glass and steel box, I can do that in real life, but if I want to live in an old-timey place with carpet and fancy wallpaper, I’m pretty much going to have to get a high-powered job and acquire some taste first.
Life Simulation
The Sim series has always been a part of the niche genre in mainstream life simulation games. Unique to the game is its game-experience nature that does not revolve around competitions or time pressures but rather on simulating real-life experiences. Throughout the series, you grow emotions for your very 'sim,' the doll-like avatar inside the game, emulating life-like relationships and doing daily activities such as shopping and eating just to win a job promotion. The game series makes a dedicated Sims player believe it can actually reflect someone's personality. The player also shares that they use the popular daily tactic, the 100 Baby Challenge, aggressively in the game as a way to check on something they love and ensure the game is still functioning well. Running the challenge will not take up a lot of energy and can also cultivate the fun of elimination.
The appeal of the Sim series brings the 'slow life core' into the hearts of a broad range of cross-generational players. The player shares that even looking at Sims series content is relaxing. 'Just by looking at photos of other people's builds, you can feel how time just flies away.' They add that because the game also goes online, the challenges inside can transform into a 'story' for others to share the joy, and they will also receive more fun works from the community. Since the players of the Sims series can be classified as casual gamers, the response to the screenshots is a response to interactive play, which can satisfy the pleasure of gamers wanting to say, 'I was there... I was the one who composed this performance.' Media reports significant sales on the first day of release for the game and has surpassed the top-selling PC game in history. With grand sales in the US and European markets, it demonstrates that it is the main player at the same time and promotes the continuous development of the scenario expansion pack.

Overview of The Sims Games through Tumblr
Overview of The Sims Games through Tumblr - The Sims is a life simulation video game series that was developed by EA Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. The games in the series are unique when compared to other games due to the open, sandbox-like nature of them. Each installment allows players to create their own virtual reality through creating families and building, customizing, and developing homes, neighborhoods, and neighboring environments using available tools.

The first installment in the series, The Sims, was released in 2000 and was created by a video game designer who was responsible for other popular video games. Its success prompted the release of seven expansion packs that enabled physical, intellectual, and supernatural developmental possibilities to the base game, as well as introducing players to working for the in-game currency for the first time, which many players enjoyed. In September 2004, The Sims 2 was released, which introduced a new game engine, 3D graphics, simulations, and customization options. Until The Sims 4 was released in September 2014, it was the only title in the series to have custom-rendered 3D graphics. By September 2019, eight expansion packs, ten stuff packs, and eighteen other content packs had been released. This allowed the game to continually be updated and expanded up until the end of life for new patches and updates, which occurred in 2018.
The Sims
The Sims is a simulated life video game where players construct and manage virtual lives. The game followed a new type of genre at the time: it was not about skill; it was about the story. There was no score to beat nor goals to achieve. The purpose of playing The Sims is both story building and virtual world creation. The franchise has become a big success during the 17 years of daily life simulation. Beyond the original game, more than 4 sequels were released, and The Sims community has a strong influence on what developers decide to include in their new games. The games had a new version released and are available both on Windows and iOS. You can play with The Sims sitting at your computer, video game console, or mobile phone.
The game also allows players to customize their own content, like building houses, creating characters, writing mission scenarios, and transforming items. After using their creativity, The Sims provides the option for the player to share their creations with other players, using the option “Gallery” in the game’s interface. Positioning the game as a sandbox, a gamer highlighted the freedom provided by The Sims. In this game, players don’t have fixed goals, and that lets them be creative, as they can tell stories while they are playing, customizing clothes, or just customizing a house, including decoration, designing, and putting anything one can imagine.
The Sims 2
The Sims 2 was termed as "a life simulation game, set in an urban environment, with agriculture being a major component of the game." The fandom answered by opening blogs that cover a theme from pleasure to a key item in the game. There was a significant increase in the number of blogs created to cover the game currency. Residential areas and also a touch of health via a blog. Urbanity was addressed through connections with technology, being included in the entertainment field and in architecture and decoration. Gaming procedures received coverage through blogs covering the game's error log display. The game's build mode was marked with users opening blogs to share their creativity.
The game's hidden features also began to gain their deserved coverage: blogs referring to fan sites, and also those referring to the use of cheats in the game. There was also room for connections to reality: sexual orientation and individuals who share pets chosen by the fandom. Inspirational blogs spreading cheer and dissemination give a visual highlight to some of the game's artists and the work of users who share their costumed families through render of houses and other constructions, changes in themes, and sharing of memories of generations. Marking strategy, replacement, and rivalries in games through blogs regarding The Sims 2 game cheats were of a triadic emphasis. The patience required for the game's graphics schedule and the hex-editing routines also gained visibility. Searches for hidden social groups also took place.
The Sims 3
While The Sims 3 has not sparked as much communication as the previous chapters have, the approximate 163,271 posts that the game has generated show that there is still a retrievable quantity of user interaction to explore. In this chapter, user content is different; users are generally interested in sharing videos of how certain things are done, to showcase the peculiarities or to present the best content in any specific category. The game is not the central aspect of the conversation, but theories and questions surrounding the game are posed. Many discussions about the game’s development evident in other chapters are virtually nonexistent here. This could be caused by the fact that compared to the best-selling mobile version, gamers found the constant advertisements for The Sims 3 bothersome. Discussions about multiple aspects of life, the future, or decisions made for the game are what bloggers are particularly curious to know.
The almost constant state of agitation in the game that had gamers begging for some sort of gaming experience without tricks or codes was also a generational subject. A rejection that seemed to be somewhat communal was of those players who do not consider the concept of expansion interesting. Advice for the game sequels and expectations posed varied but were centered on developing gaming interaction as well as character development over decades or a type of online game for handheld systems. Commercial strategies generally disappointed many, arguing that instead of focusing on creating and selling stuff packs and novel towns that cost players, the same emphasis should have been placed on correcting long-established programming errors, correcting obstacles and intonations, and offering extra cinemas, clothes, and furnishings to be used collectively within each game of the previous beginners.
The Sims 4
The Sims 4 was announced on May 6, 2013, and released in the United States on September 2, 2014. Like its predecessors, The Sims 4 seeks to continue the saga of these control-life simulation games. Players can create and manage digital characters that interact with one another in a virtual world. Thanks to the modifications made possible through the game's programming and special tools for the purpose, players add their own resources, be it houses, characters, objects, or other game bundles.
In posts addressed to the blog with the marker, users of the game mention problems with creations and demand technical solutions within the game, mainly posts that reflect the concern with packages in the game. Furthermore, with The Sims 4, we find the marker among the most used with the game. This type of marker is commented on in Chapter 3 as it stands in the closing list of tags associated with The Sims 4 and the category.
