Edith Eastborne

for @starry-sky-sims Malea’s Bachelorette Challenge

Her name may sound vaguely familiar, that’s because you may have heard of her brother Ethan (who once participated in a different bachelorette challenge). Edith is an adult and has a teenage daughter, Ember, whom she loves to pieces. Being a single mother never stopped Edith from traveling, she’s lived in a lot of different places. Her home is where her family is. Edith often wears a necklace with a heart shaped pendant - her daughter has an identical one and it signifies their bond. Edith also has a good relationship with her younger brother Ethan, even though she doesn’t see him as often as she likes. Edith loves outdoor activities and can often be found in the garden. On a night out, she likes to go bowling and she is quite good at it. Other than that, Edith can be all over the place. As soon as there’s something exciting to do, she signs up for it. Same for anything that helps make the world a better place. 

After a bit of encouragement from Ethan and Ember, Edith decided to sign up for Malea’s Bachelorette Challenge. Maybe it is time to settle down a bit more and Malea sounds like a lovely Sim to that with.

Whitney is a total party animal, and spends her days partying til the sun comes up. It’s her dream to throw a big summer bash in Sulani, and she’s always dressed for the occasion. All of her outfits are very summery and beach themed. She is heatproof, loves the outdoors and is outgoing.

Neia Ibarra

Family: Neia comes from an affluent family, her father is an astronaut, her mother an art gallery owner. Her parents got divorced when she was 9 and after that she spent her time in Oasis Springs with her dad and in Del Sol Valley with her mother. Neia has one brother, Iker (short for Icarus), who is only a couple of years older than her. They’re quite close and love exercising together and they would play in the same band if that were a thing in the Sims.

Background: While she is of Selvadoradian origin, the name Iphigeneia originated in Greek (or whatever it’s Sims 4 equivalent will be called) mythology – based on her mother’s obsession with classic art. Neia really hates her full name and insists on everyone calling her Neia. The only person to ignore that is her brother, who teasingly calls her “Iphy”.   Not wanting for anything in terms of the material, Neia has always focused on her mental capacities, much to the delight of her father. She never much bothered with the things girls typically do, much to the disappointment of her mother. While she has developed her femininity a lot more during high school, Neia firmly believes in gender equality. As a consequence she hates the typical romantic stereotypes and despises galantry – she’s perfectly able to open doors on her own! (if that were a thing in the sims). She’s often considered surly because of this, but she is a nice and warm person behind that cool facade. One of the perks of “being one of the guys” as a child, is that Neia isn’t afraid of a bit of adventure. She loves to explore and likes to go places that can’t be easily accessed (including space). Neia also loves to learn new skills and she’s already learnt quite a few. She leads an active life and is an avid cyclist and enjoys practicing yoga (to combine mental and physical exercise).

Life goals: Having grown up in lavish homes surrounded by space rockets, Neia is aware of her footprint on this world. Which is one of the reasons she stopped eating meat as a young girl. Besides, who wants to eat cute animals? Or creepy looking organic wall-grown cruelty free meat? While at uni, she moved from her dorms to a tiny cabin in Oasis Springs. The tiny house works well for her, she lives out of her suitcase most of the time anyway and she can store her stuff at one of her parents’ places. Neia has dabbled in working with recycled goods, but also likes to work with robots, who aren’t that eco friendly. But she feels she’s found the right balance and works hard to maintain that – and improve herself. She recently spent a lot of time in the Selvadoradian Jungle, exploring dangerous areas and finding Omiscan treasure. While this is her dream job, Neia wouldn’t mind doing something different for a while - variety is the spice of life after all. She does have good qualifications for becoming an engineer or astronaut, which are jobs she might want to try later on. As for romance, Neia is looking for an honest man who doesn’t continually feel the need to protect her but appreciates her for her independence and capabilities. She can fend for herself perfectly well and would like a companion to adventure beside her – and what better way to see if Branson is that man, than in a haunted house?

@zosa95 I hope you like Neia. I do realise her story is somewhat contradictory? But I tried to create the kind of Sim that would enter a challenge like this and hopefully also suit Branson. You’ve always portrayed Branson as a very down to earth guy who is passionate about the things he believes in. I felt like a strong, independent and talented woman might be a good fit. Then again, there’s still that haunted house challenge that may end in any number of ways, so I’ve probably given this too much thought. I know I spent way to much time on the pictures (and they still look crap because editing is not my thing).

As for CC, I’ve used some, which is somewhat new for me. Skin and eyelashes are the same as the ones you use. Neia’s eyes are a default replacement, so I guess you’ll just use your own (that’s fine), but you can get them as non-default. That leaves the cleavage overlay which you probably already have since it comes with the vanilla skin. And finally there’s the skin details (I used this version).

Pascual Rubio Originally born in Selvadorada, Pascual grew up in Oasis Springs (where his younger sisters were born). His parents run a shop where they sell Selvadoradian food and Omiscan artifacts that they pick up on their annual Summer vacation (many a Winterfest is also spent in Puerto Llamante). Pascual aspires to take over the family business and expand it a little, maybe even open a Selvadoradian restaurant as well. He is pondering whether he should get a degree in history or art history first to help him locate archaeological sites and better understand the ancient culture. As he was brought up in the Selvadoradian tradition that family is the most important thing in your life, Pascual would like to start a family of his own one day. And participating in a bachelorette challenge seems like a good start. Aspiration: Archaeology Scholar Traits: Ambitious, Foodie, Active

Pascual is completely unskilled (which made him set the grill on fire while I was taking pictures) so as to not give him an unfair advantage in the challenge.

He comes with his father Esteban, mother Fabiola, sister Paola (you have seen her once before, I generated the rest of the family through her genetics) and sister Pilar. Both Paola and Pilar are teens.

I initially considered making a female Sim for this challenge, as too many of my Sims are straight (in my opinion). But then I figured, the majority of people lean towards making female Sims, so that made me feel the need to make a male Sim. That said, I did do something in terms of more diversity - I made an Asian (inspired) Sim, which I haven’t done very often yet.

Jing Shin Born and raised in San Myshuno, Jing has always been taught that hard work gets you far in life. His parents own a chain of food stalls and were always busy running the business. But not to busy to instill the traditional values on their son. As a young boy, Jing would often spend a lot of time at his parents’ office looking at the indoor koi pond. He’s basically been obsessed about fish his whole life. As he grew older, Jing often went over to Britechester to visit his grandfather - who emigrated from Shang Simla as a young man. Jing could spend hours listening to his grandfather’s stories of the old world and the natural balance in life. And it is those values that make him now consider a simpler life, with more fresh air and fewer raccoon weirdos. He also knows that to find true balance in his life, he will need a spouse - and an Off the Grid Bachelorette sounds like a perfect match! Aspiration: Angling Ace Traits: Perfectionist, Loves Outdoors, Self-Assured

For the sake of not having unfair advantages in the challenge, I uploaded Jing without any skills.

Another note, there are still some spots left in the Bachelorette challenge, so if you feel like submitting a Sim for it, please do! Jing is a confident young man and he’d like some more competition.

Ericka was a genetics swap with @Jazz3005, Ericka wants to become A Friend of the World, her traits include, Romantic, Vegetarian, and Outgoing. Ericka Hutchins comes from a French Background and lived in Paris for all of her childhood, she’s really smart and throughout school, she has really good grades but after school, her older brother got caught up in a drug-related group and in which stole money from Ericka to pay back his dealers, this wasn't the first time he had done this. Ericka Moved to the US to better her life in Uni for her Law Degree and to shut out the life she had back at home.

My favourite vampire couple and their kids (Seraphina is in her second trimester upon download) - and Megan. There’s a huge story (that I totally abandoned) behind this household, but let’s just say, the wars and feuds are over and Dim and Sera got married, had kids and everything. And Dim reconciled with Megan, the last Sim he turned (because he desperately wanted his sister back - yeah, I said, it’s a long story). They live in Moonlight Manor, which is ready for the arrival of the nooboo. I’ve given them their respective vampire ranks and strengths and weaknesses, I’m pretty sure those transfer through the Gallery. They also have jobs and a bunch of skills, so they’re ready to be used as townies.

Dim Dragonov Charming, gentlemanly and brilliant too. When Dim can set aside his worries about vampirism, he’s a loving husband, devoted father and a genius scientist. Silly thing is, he knows the cure to vampirism, but something from the past is keeping him from turning human. Aspiration: Good Vampire Traits: Bookworm, Good, Self-Assured

Seraphina Dragonova A gifted young violinist happens to fall in love with a vampire... And the rest is a long, complicated and protracted history. However, Sera is still making as much music as she can while being a wife and mother. She has come to embrace her vampiric existence over the years - it’s almost a normal life now anyway. Emilia Dragonova A cute little vampire spawn with some human blood hidden somewhere. And just like her parents, being a vampire doesn’t mean you’re a bad Sim. Trait: Angelic

Megan Staples When Dim asked Megan to make use of the spare room/coffin, she didn’t hesitate. They may have been at odds at some point, but only through her own ignorance. Now that all is repaired, Megan is happy with a roof over her head and a place to write vampire romance stories - she’s a side character to a real life version of it! Skye was always the girl who was seen hanging around males in school and even the small months she did in uni, but this was because she never really fit in with girls, she was so difernet to the adverage girl she grew up with and was bullied and humilated for it for years, will this be the same for her in the workforce and for just living her life.

A set of vampire roomies for Forgotten Hollow. They’re all quite different and they’re not exactly the nice kind of vampires (as far as those exist) either. Trinity Nightshade Looks as cute as ever, is as lethal as ever. Just another rendition of my test vampire, this time with a career in acting and a couple of celebrity stars. Aspiration: Master Vampire Traits: Bookworm, Hot-Headed, Insider Celebrity Level: 2

Kelvin Cave The ideal roommate, he’s not only a vampire, but also a serial romantic who can’t be bothered to do laundry. At least he doesn’t leave empty plates and cups around since he only drinks plasma. Also has a shady past as the fallen son of a once important vampire family. Aspiration: Serial Romantic Traits: Slob, Self-Assured, Noncommittal

Mya Liang Once desperate for power, Mya had herself turned (by old Vlad, no less) and now reaps the benefits of eternal... undeadness? Anyway, she loves to see others suffer, so a nice deep drink always means she’s having a lot of fun. Aspiration: Public Enemy Traits: Glutton, Goofball, Evil

Fangs Not sure why these vampires would want a cat, but hey, they have one. A cute, slightly cross-eyed mixed breed furball that they appropriately named Fangs. Traits: Fluffy, Spoiled, Friendly

Thaddeus Vernon Has been a vampire for so long he doesn’t remember what life as a mortal is like. He knows a lot of things about vampire history, because he was there himself when it happened, but prefers to keep to himself. His one true love is music, and he plays every instrument available, but his original Stringvarius is his favourite. Aspiration: Musical Genius Traits: Gloomy, Loner, Music Lover

Cole Grady A bowling legend who never got the recognition he deserved. When Cole met Victoria, she offered him a way to escape to a state of being that gave him everything he ever dreamed off - the only thing he had to give up was his heartbeat. Victoria Battenberg The fearless leader of the Battenbergs, Victoria was destined for the position of Grandmaster and she does it with grace. It may not be conventional in the vampire world to have offspring born, but it is Victoria’s current mission to successfully raise a baby vampire.
