Xian’s Story - Chapter 2 7/8 ⚠️ TW: Death, mentions of drug use, strong language (Pierce’s POV) When I approach them I can read the grief in Xian’s eyes, which has worsen since Miko arrived a couple of hours ago. Can’t she fucking see it? Family does not mean shit. Family sometimes follow values that don’t resonate with you. Family can cripple you, can cut your wings. And my girlfriend has yet to understand this basic fact. I don’t like Miko. But I knew this the moment Xian received the first call and told me how worried she was about her. Her sister is like me, selfish to her very core. When I looked at her before, I could see that she recognised an equal. And she is not letting her go, the same I will never let her go. In the silence we understood one another: we don’t have to like each other, but we will respect that Xian is the single most important person for both. When we turn around to exit the cemetery, I’m still surprised how quick me and my family became priority number 2 in Xian’s mind. But she does not need me ranting about that right this moment.
