For those who haven't been following the project: Wishbone is a character drama-slash-farming sim game that takes place in a wild west-inspired setting. The player takes the role of a farmer, fresh off the wagon in a new town and tasked with building a successful ranch. The town of Wishbone might seem sleepy and mundane--albeit full of weirdos--at first, but there’s trouble brewing on the horizon: a fierce, prolonged standoff between the lawmen and the outlaws that will decide the fate of the town itself.

The Summer Year 1 beta represents a complete vertical slice of the first 25% of the final game. It contains around 10-20 hours of playtime, depending on how thorough you are.

You have been staying in Japan after traveling there for a highly advanced medical procedure. Your only friend, Koyomi, sees how isolated you have become here, and is encouraging you to get into dating. She offers to introduce you to the sweet, normal, well-adjusted single guys she knows in your apartment complex. But for whatever reason, she doesn't seem to want you to meet Kage, your next-door neighbor.

"There's something really off about him. If you decide to talk to him, obviously I can't stop you. Just...please be careful. He's really...fragile."

Every choice you make with/towards your yandere neighbor will have a disproportionately larger impact on him than all the other dating "options," for better or worse. Also, be careful about the other "options." Every choice you make with them also affects Kage.

Build your guys' stats through interactions and cute dates. Figure out what they like and make them cute gifts. Witness Kage become increasingly unhinged and navigate the fallout of his wacky antics.

What you say, do, don't say or don't do all matter. Especially to your yandere!

Why has he latched on to you so tightly? Reach the "true ending" to find out, along with answers to other questions raised along the way.

Choose your name, gender, and appearance. Choose your birthday for some fun birthday surprises. Choose your guy, or guys. But remember Koyomi's advice: be really careful with Kage. He's fragile.

Life as a kindred can get dull. You’ve spent all of your undead life pushing papers, bumping shoulders with Camarilla officials, and worst of all? You’re getting no action. Luckily for you, there’s a chance to escape the monotony, and possibly find true love in your unending cursed existence.

In the small town of Sanctuary, located two hours out of El Paso, Texas, they’re hosting a festival to celebrate the once every one hundred year event of an elder vampire awakening. With enough vacation days under your belt, you think it’s time for a holiday! You pack up your belongings and head to the rough-and-tumble rural hellscape, hoping to find a new lease on life. 

After all, what could possibly go wrong?

DEAD HEARTS STILL BEAT is an RPG visual novel inspired by Disco Elysium, Monster Prom, and Hatoful Boyfriend. Explore the small town of Sanctuary and interact with all of its quirky little inhabitants! With lots of quests, branching storylines, and mischief to get into, even failure will at least make you crack a smile.

Featuring:

7 branching character routes, each featuring at least three different endings

A simplified version of the VTM 5th edition RPG mechanics, players may train 9 base stats during their adventure, rolling subsequent dice to see whether they succeed, fail, or botch any given situation. Choices matter but so does your luck.

3 different protagonists, players may choose to be of clan Malkavian, Nosferatu, or Venture. Each clan has differing abilities and personalities. Your clan can greatly affect your outcomes.

 Manage your blood, money, and time, as well as maintaining The Masquerade to make sure your time in Sanctuary doesn’t end prematurely…
