Very disappointed in the Sims community and their very vocal distain towards Black Simmers for begging for a Caribbean/African themed world, especially because they're literally SO MANY American/European themed worlds...like there's even 3 Asian/2 Latinx themed worlds and we barely have 1, EVEN THE DAMN IMAGINARY STAR WARS WORLD BUT NO...we get edges, hairs, SOME clothing, but not a world? Like the closest thing we have to anything Caribbean is the St.Feu household that Maxis created, and even then that's JUST A HOUSEHOLD ON THE GALLERY. Stop silencing BLACK Simmers, like y'all show y'all asses every time we speak our opinions or real shit. A whole account was suspended because of the mass reporting just because a Black Simmer asked to be represented...I hate how even in the big year of 2025, over 25 years of The Sims, it's never enough being a Black Simmer.

NEVER BUY FREE CC FROM ANYONE!

So... I found this.

I know, it's impossible to prevent something like this to happen when the internet is an open world. And I have prepared myself for things like this. I am not here to call out the seller, I don't know who they are, and I am 100% sure there are more irresponsible people like this online.

I just want to tell everybody, that you SHOULD NEVER buy CC/Mods for any games, that is not posted by the creators. This seller is literally selling FREE CC. Not just mine, but many others too. And I'm talking about thousands of CC. This is from an Indonesia based online marketplace. But I'm sure, that somewhere in your area, there's one like this too. I just want you to be aware, that this is wrong. It's violating not just the creator's T.O.U, but also EA's policy. If you don't want to pay early access--that's totally fine. But this 👆 is beyond stupid.

Message for fellow Indonesian Simmers:

I have a rant. A sims rant about Lovestruck.

I am 2 seconds from removing the expansion from my game. I love the world and that rusty chair. What I don’t love is the relationship satisfaction measures. I know these are sims, this is a game, and relationship satisfaction is a real life thing. But the rate this decreases, the fact that, despite having full autonomy and stories being on, this decreases to the point of the sims being extremely unhappy while you are playing another household makes the expansion almost unplayable if you have multiple households. I can absolutely see how this can bring an interesting complexity to gameplay if you have 1 family. Which comes to my main complaint….

Poly relationships.

I was ECSTATIC when I heard they were adding this to the game. I fail to see how this was added. Yes, I can have them be in a relationship, with no jealousy, but I’ve been doing that for 2 1/2 years with wicked whims. There are NO interactions that you can do with all 3, I failed to see even how they can go on an actual date together. Yesterday, after work, I played the household to take pictures to answer a prompt question on here about my favorite ‘couple.’ Of course, they were all ‘extremely unsatisfied’ because I hadn’t played the household.. in a day. I worked on repairing Edgar and Olly’s relationship, Otto’s relationship bar went from 100% to NEGATIVE 30%. I ended up cheating the relationship bar and making Olly tell Otto how amazing he is over and over over. I checked all the jealousy settings, they are all set appropriately. I am over it. I am an adult with a full time job, a kid, and my own relationship to maintain. This game is an escape for me. And these 3 chose each other, I didn’t plan it this way. They work. But not with this expansion. I can’t be responsible for the maintenance of this, and 10 other households (and all Old Lou’s .. extracurricular activities). This expansion is broken. (Surprise!) have the sims maintain their relationships without the players help. INCLUDE APPROPRIATE INTERACTIONS FOR POLY SIMS IF YOU ARE GOING TO ADVERTISE THAT IT IS A THING. Stop showing EVERY INTERACTION BETWEEN THE 3 of them as ‘awkward’. I HATE that. I know this is a lot of feelings for a silly game, but this is important to me. It breaks my heart to see these silly pixels unhappy.

My Veronaville is cursed forever.

I don't know what is going on. I tried everything. I had this problem before, the thing is that I have just gave up and started to play other hoods meanwhile.

The thing is that my Veronaville never resets. I mean, it does, I had this game in University once and did a makeover on everyone. But I deleted the hood because I wanted to start over.

The thing is, the "resetted" one is mixing up with the new one. I start up and Romeo is using the new clothes that I've put on him, for example. I tried deleting the neighborhoods folder, I tried deleting the whole My Documents folder, I even tried uninstalling and installing the game today.

It didn't work. Now, it is worse: now some sims are invisible. They do not appear at all. Nor they do have portraits. I know that it is mixing up the old save because I had subhoods added in the old one that are being regenerated everytime I load up for the 1st time. And I don't even use Onedrive...

I am thinking on dropping Sims 2. Or at least, moving to Legacy...since I noticed everything is normal there.

Is anyone else having an issue with their sims not washing dishes? It started after they released that update that was supposed to fix something to do with sims not washing dishes from the corner. Mind you I never had that problem. Now my sims in certain saves won’t wash dishes. In one save I don’t even have the option to clean up the dishes only throw away. In the save I was just in they only wash the dishes in the bathroom. If I set the kitchen sink as kitchen they will not wash dishes but if I set the bathroom sink as ‘all’ they go wash dishes just fine.

It’s a minor inconvenience but an inconvenience nonetheless. I want my sims to do as instructed, it’s actually a simple request.

simmers are definitely racist (I mean let's have a look at all the popular youtubers/streamers.... just white people that usually stick to their very western type of gameplays) but I do think this whole arguing also stems from the simmers that are incapable of letting others criticize the game. the amount of people that have been told to shut up or stop playing the game simply because they criticized the new pack :/

That's one of the BIGGEST problems in the Sims Community, it's the constant EA dick-riding and just accepting the absolute BARE minimum, omg. As soon as we're a bit too outspoken, or we're speaking in a way they don't like, it's an issue! Well, I'm tired of it, 25 years, TWENTY-FIVE! We ain't gotta hold our tongue from no fucking body! Point blank period!1!

I made those sims with a bunch of backstory and almost an entire essay and nothing. I'm just a bit pissed off but other than that, I'm fine. not me writing an entire essay for pixels-

So, I had the crazy hope after we unlocked the eyes from the Reaper's Rewards event, Vlad's eyes would also be fixed 👁

Then the event broke again and I started a new safe again hoping it would work, like last time. But the quests didn't show up anymore... ⛔

Since I already was in the new safe, I went into CAS to check the eyes. Changed the new sim into a vampire and gave him the black eyes - and they were still there ingame!

Oh, I was so happy and immediately loaded the Boys' save to change Vlads eyes, but ...

Dammit! So again this has to do with our old save -.- They'll probably never fix it 😭 I'm so fed up with this game. This is just so random stuff they break with each new pack and update - so unrelated to anything. And what does this all have to do with how old a save is? ö.Ö

And when I moved the new Sim in a premade house in Ciudad Enamorada, I found this wallplant I've never noticed before. Even though I was scrolling through the plants several times since release. Because it's hidden in wall decorations -.- Why? Sure, it is a wall decoration. But I would have never searched for it there. It's just one little checkbox to tick to make our lives easier...

incoherent sims rant

i always find myself getting burned out anytime i start a new save bc i either didn't move fast enough or moved too fast and i have no idea how to find a healthy balance.

i also hate playing directionless gameplay, so i look to challenges to give me an idea of what to do, but then i get bored of challenges because i either accomplish the goals too quickly and am left with nothing for my sim to do for the rest of their generation OR i take forever to accomplish the goals, so by the time they start having children i'm nowhere near done with their goals and i feel overwhelmed because i'm trying to focus on raising their children but also accomplishing their goals at the same time

i also, despite owning majority of the packs, have never fully played with/experienced ANY of the packs. so anytime i think about starting a new gameplay, i think about trying to play through one of the packs, but then i want to focus on more than one at a time so i get overwhelmed again and the cycle keeps repeating

i wish it was easier to enjoy this game without having to look to challenges or my own creativity to find interest in it. i know every sims player goes through times where the last thing they wanna do is play this game, but i think a lot of us also go through this, where we WANT to play the game, but no matter how we approach it, we find ourselves bored before we get that far

i think it all just comes back to how lackluster the sims 4 (specifically) is. half of the packs (especially expansions) could have easily been made into one big pack including content from all of them, rather than multiple different $40 packs that feel unfinished and are often times bugged beyond belief

no one should have to wait months after a packs release for the bugs to be patched so they can consider purchasing (as i did with wedding stories and am still doing with for rent). no one should have to spend the equivalent of a single game's cost on an expansion pack that really doesn't expand upon the game all that much

and i think where the problem is glaringly obvious is when you look at the base game. obviously i know the game is going to be more fun and have more things to do with pack content. but even basic things like shower woohoo, the playmat for infants, bathroom stalls, are all locked behind packs.

when growing together first came out, i didn't consider buying it because i figured we'd at least have enough infant content in the base game to make it worthwhile. but i found myself purchasing growing together IMMEDIATELY after updating my game for infants because without it, infants are just a more annoying version of the base game babies. they are ONLY fun and interesting if you have this pack

and yes, i know we have gotten a LOT more stuff in the base game in the 10 years the sims 4 has been around. i've been playing the sims 4 since it released. i've seen how the base game has grown and changed. i watched how we went from the saddest excuse for "range" with the skintones to the skintone update. i was there when we didn't have POOLS or TODDLERS. i've seen them finally start to add more ethnic and diverse hairs and outfits. but is it enough?

i'm not a game developer, i'm not a cc or mod creator, i have no idea how much effort, time, or resources it takes to make content for this game. and yet, month after month, cc and mod creators manage to do more than ea and the sims team have done for the sims 4 since it released. month after month we see these creators come out with new and unique content for this game, mod creators working as hard as they can to get any broken mods updated as soon as possible. yet the sims team and ea themselves will let bugs, some even game breaking, go on for months or even years without so much as the slightest acknowledgement.

i don't really have a goal in all of this. i don't have a solution and i know i'm preaching to the choir. i know thousands of players have complained about every single thing i've mentioned in this post and nothing has changed and nothing will change. i just felt the need to get it off my chest.

i hope, somehow, before the sims team and ea move passed the sims 4 onto the sims 5 and/or other projects, that we get more for this game and that none of it is locked behind a $40 (or less) paywall. the base game has come a LONG way in these last 10 years. but it can still use a whole lot more
