Horses

Let's start with the main selling point of this pack: Horses!

As you might have guessed horses have the same kind of CAS features as cats and dogs. They also count as family members meaning that there is a limit to how many horses your family will be able to have, if you don't use cheats to allow for more than eight sims in a household.

There are no unicorns in the pack but there is a unicorn horn that can be added to your horses as a body part. It's not an accessory/outfit piece that can be accessed when planning outfits. The good part is that since it's considered a body part it will stay when a horse ages and I think there also is a chance that it can be passed on to a foal.

Quick facts:

The horse life spans are 30 (short), 70 (normal), 280 (long).

There are 35 different horsebreeds available in CAS.

The coat of the horse is paintable in the same way as cats & dogs

There are 11 traits available in CAS.

More traits can be unlocked through gameplay.

Horses have two outfits: riding & everyday.

There are 4 horse skills: Agility, Jumping, Endurance & Temperament.

Horse skills, competition awards and more can be tracked in the profile available through right clicking on a horse in the relationship panel.

Horses will only die of old age.

Horse ghosts are a thing!

Horses can not get ill.

There are no wild horses in the world.

You can rescue a horse for a lower price or buy one.

Horse needs can be seen when hovering over a horse in live mode.

Pastel-sims Unicorn Horn

This horn was never intended to be a unicorn horn, as Silvermoon sims made it as part of a Sailor Moon outfit. Have you checked out their Sailor Moon stuff? It’s awesome. Anyway, I am a silly unicorn fan and desperate for new unicorn horns, so I claimed this one as a unicorn horn too. Once again, I made an edited mesh version to move it down the forehead and add a few more color swatches to it.

The Kalino makes amazing custom content for pets and you should really look at all of it, but I can vouch for the unicorn horn with two different styles of mane they made for dogs! It makes me happy.

Don’t get me started on that unicorn mask. The creator has a horse mask too if that’s your thing. This mask brought me so much joy to find and use!

honestly the sims 4 horse pack just seems disappointing especially in comparison to sims 3 horses.

There is no wild horses. There’s no unicorns which is going to be a massive letdown to many because so many people argued that there was because because they saw one in the background for the trailer and now that’s just a confirmed accessory. I know part of it has to do with how sims 4 artistic style is, and while I don’t ever expect realism from, the horses in this feel really off to me lookswise. It’s watered down too generically and as someone who is a horse enthusiast and been working with horses I can’t help but to feel part of the system of it could have been a tiny bit better. I’m sorry but where are the clothes? The men only get like 2 pants and a shirt and thats it. Children got boots and a shirt. The infant’s horse onesie is cute and all but you literally do not have a bigger batch of diehard fans for horses than you do with kids. Why the fuck do they not get a shirt or two, and pants, that are chaulk full to the brim with horse patterns even? Speaking of kids, and the lack of anything for the worlds biggest group of horse peeps, why is the only new thing for them a barn dollhouse? Let’s talk about the whole 1 new curtain but it’s only for one specific size and the rest of them are left high and dry. It’s great kids can ride on the horses finally too, but why is it you have to teach random nervous kids from the community board and not your own?? I can’t see myself using the wine-making much because I didn’t for sims 3, but seeing the fact you have to individually click every case to start seeing what you have for your wines is A Choice (especially since you can hover over your meals or random drinks at the bar and see what it is so why not here?)

Like yeah having sheep and goats is cool, having farm hands is cool and was something I was wishing for in 3. But I feel like there is a lot of things the pack is lacking. They had a whole pack dedicated to horses but it still feels more empty to what we had in sims 3 which also threw in cats and dogs and other small animals all at once, and something seems real off about that fact. And it’s to a point where I am honestly expecting to see a new stuff pack coming up called “My First Equestrian” just to throw in only some of the things they knew they were lacking and charging another 10-15 bucks for.

As per tradition, I will be leaving my feedback out of my post, and only displaying the facts.

HUGE thank you to the sims datamining community. Many notable figures in there that helped with these discoveries. Some wish to be unnamed which I will respect, and huge thank you to u/Vegetable_Ear_4141 or thesarahmilani for posting the imgur links!

For now, let's begin with the NEW info. I will be separating this post into 4 sections, similarly to the folder structure in the game files (CAS, Garage, The Hub, Live Mode, +Misc)

ALL of these elements can be seen in better detail in the screenshots associated with them. (ex. DLCs)

CAS (Create a Sim)

This is where most of the interesting stuff comes from. Though the playtest did not allow for us to create our own sims, this build actually contains a very early version of what we are going to see in Create a Sim. There's a lot of info to go through here.

TailoringHQ was the original name for the Clothing Workshop.

References to Fine Tuning, Body Frame, Body Height(!!), Clothing layering, Clothing Workshop.

Tweens are confirmed.

Within the "Char" folder, there are references to Humans and Horses.

Horses are editable in CAS. There is also a unicorn variant.

Mobility Aids. Only one at the moment for wheelchairs.

"Upper Varients" lets you customize from preset tops to your liking.

Change sleeves and collars on your shirt.

"Fat Controls" (yes, actually called that) is used internally to make body weight significantly more realistic.

"Fat Controls" go VERY in depth, ranging from all parts of the body to a heavy focus on the face.

Various Body type customization (mainly shapes and sizes).

Various Garments including bags, bracelets, socks, watches, scarfs, etc.

Possible careers include "Student", "Poet", "Gardener" and "Chef".

Garage

The Garage folder contains stuff relating to the story. The only notable things in here right now are two placeholder artworks of the (protagonists?) named Josie and Rachel.

The Hub

The Hub is essentially the area that was being playtested. It is a public space for all multiplayer and UGC related things (UGC = User Generated Content). Players can either join their friends, or select "quick play" to join a random session with random players.

It includes a "For You" section, "Marketplace", "Multiplayer", and "UGC" folders. To be clear, the hub is the only place you can matchmake and meet random players. The rest of the game can be played solo if you wanted.

Used purely just for DLC.

DLC videos will be able to autoplay, have various sizes, thumbnails, etc.

Icons for The Hub have also been uncovered, showcasing SimBucks currency (Likely MTX).

The "Multiplayer" section:

Contains everything related to MP in the Hub.

Search for Lobbies

Get notifications from others

Separate part of the game, used mainly in the Hub area.

Ability to invite other players to your Neighborhood

Kick players from your neighborhood

Invite players to a party

Ability to call other players

Mute/unmute microphone

Deafen/undeafen (similar to discord call)

The "UGC" Section (User Generated Content):

Curated user generated items

Basically "CC" becoming much more accessible.

Doesn't require you to visit external websites to download custom content anymore.

Live Mode

Files contain a rather pretty looking concept art of the city. (see imgur below)

Live mode folders contain low detail debug sim models. Most are unnamed, except for one 'Rory'.

A horse model was found in the files, however it looks to be the same one used in TS4, likely placeholder. (see imgur).

Objects can be burnt, dirty, or covered in snow. (seasons confirmed?)

City controls, includes things like streetlamps and city lights. Interestingly, also contains references to a "Mural" and "Workshop" modes.

Sim Activity icons

Friendships have 4 levels/modes in rene: Unacquainted, Neutral, Friendly, and Close.

Every single social icon (visual icons that appear above sims' heads depending on what they're talking about; see imgur).

The Live Mode in this build is rather fleshed out in the files compared to what we saw in the playtest. Most of the core sims mechanics are present, such as sim aging and being able to control multiple sims in a household.

This section includes misc information about the game that we found interesting enough to share.

This game uses volumetric clouds.

This game uses parallax interiors.

TS4 CC Finds - FAIRIES!

This is a list of custom content finds for The Sims 4 with the theme “Fairies”.

Disclaimers: No items were made by me, I am only linking to the creators’ pages. My finds are a mix of alpha and maxis-match. I don’t necessarily have this cc in my game.

[RE-UPLOAD]Bow Dress and Bonus Leggings for Toddlers

Remember a similar dress I made for children? Well, stupid me just found out that they were just recolors, and not a standalone mesh. Honest mistake, that dress, or rather set of recolors, were made back when I was still learning my way around S4S. I plan to fix it soon (in fact, redo the whole thing), but for now, here’s a new (actual) mesh for the tots, so let me go ahead and start before I get off subject again…

About the Dress:

A frankenmesh of the toddler’s t-shirt and the tunic dress (the one with the cute star necklace and unicorn design). I used the same bow from the adult crop top, but also added a bump map and specular for it, so it can make the bow ‘pop’!

For toddlers only.

For boys and girls, found under the Feminine Fashion Choice.

Available for vamps and aliens, too.

Under Short Dresses, and is set for Everyday, Formal, Sleep, Party, and of course Situation.

Comes in 3 shades of 39 colors, y’know like red, dark red, and pastel red.
