Gen 3. Aurora #34 The Catacombs

The family headed to Tartosa to visit the White Legacy cemetery.

Sim Cemetary & Catacombs by EA ID sambamsims. I couldn't figure out how to get rid of the spring decor :(

"This is where everyone in our legacy is laid to rest."

"These are your grandparents. They died when I was young, but they gave me the happiest childhood memories."

Ella took Aurora to visit their memorial. "Your grandmother Snow loved to cross-stitch. I guess I took after her a little, since I loved to knit." "Oh yes, the knits! I played with Claire the Bear and Yarny all my life, but about that sweater...." "Did you like it? It was my masterpiece." "..."

"These were my grandparents on my father's side... your great-grandparents and Uncle Soren, who was the King of Tartosa before he passed."

"And these are Grandma Snow's parents, the Queen and King of the Bramblewood. They loved to cross-stitch too."

"Your oldest uncle Doug and his wife both Ashley died of old age, but it was so tragic. Their eldest two daughters died in accidents. They have one living daughter, Krysta."

"My favorite sister Joy and her husband Taylor. Joy was electrocuted when their 4 kids were young. You'll meet them at your celebration."

Aurora's cousin Noe Bianchi happened to be at the catacombs visiting his parents, who had died of old age. Shylee had been the longest living of the 7 "dwarfs."

"N-nice to meet you."

"Uncle Hayden was quite accomplished. Both him and his wife died elderly, but Uncle Hayden's twin Raphael died by falling from a cliff when he was 50. Another tragic end. He hadn't ever gotten married."

"Uncle Dwight and Aunt Somna were the musical ones in the family. In fact, Aunt Somna was an award-winning violinist! Both died in their old age as well."

"I can't believe I had this many Uncles and Aunts, and I never got to meet them." *Pained silence* "We will meet some of your other cousins at your welcoming banquet."

I hope I can keep this up for the whole legacy... Love @ravasheencc Sims Portrait maker and Photographic Memory 2.0 mods; makes it so much easier to do this! L. was going around collecting urns every time we got a notice of death.

Homecrafter of the Month #4

Starting out with a request from @alexbgd that I got a while ago - felixandre's SOHO trims. I fiddled with them over and over. They're cloned from the AL trims in build. They go up and down with the walls and you can move them up and down, too. I put @jacky93sims' SOHO window alongside a le frenetre tall window so you could see the size of them. They're rather big. The two cornices take up almost a whole tile on the top flat part.

I played around with them a little to get them off the windows. I added another storey, but they delete along with the wall when you get rid of the walls, but if you use a half-wall, the wall doesn't show behind the taller cornices. I noticed, too, that depending on which side of the building my camera was facing, the pieces' texture shading changed. The last pic shows it best. In the first pic, you see how the cast iron corner piece overlaps and if you use different recolors, they will look funky. The corners need "move_objects on" to be put into place just like the AL ones, do. The inside and outside corners are repo'd to the straight trims. Includes all the recolors for all four trims and both the brick walls and cast iron walls seen in the previews.

I have one other wallpaper for you, too. Briar Rose from the National Trust 3 collection. It comes with just a kickboard or with a kickboard and crown. I haven't made many wallpapers the last couple months since I was particpating in DOTY at Sim Pearls.

Lastly, a set of five parquet floors. They're 5x5.

Briar Beauty Redesign in the Sims 4

I went for the ‘exhausted party girl’ vibes, I also tried to use as much rose elements as I could.

I gave her more green details because I think they look good on her, but I feel like since the background is so strong the skirt and rose on the choker look fainter than they are.

Suggestions are welcomed!

Doing Faybelle next then I’m either going to do Apple, Cupid, Duchess, Lizzie, or Raven next.

Hello, and welcome to Briars In Time.

Once upon a time, back in 2017, I began the Decades Challenge. I finished it in 2019, my first completed legacy ever! The story is still up and readable on Wordpress, In The Rose Garden.

This challenge meant so much to me and I’ve ached to do it again over the years; I have finally given in to that longing, and so here we are.

Briars In Time will differ from In The Rose Garden in a few ways.

1. I will be loosely following the March of Time variation which has us begin in 1850.

2. I will be focusing on a more American-themed setting versus the European setting of my first challenge.

3. I will primarily be posting here on Tumblr, but will also post on Wordpress, combining multiple posts from tumblr into a chapter over there.

4. And finally... as of right now, I will be incorporating less planned plot and letting the game guide the way. This will likely change every so often as ideas come to me.

This blog is still a WIP, but I hope you enjoy taking this journey with me!

Regarding Historical Accuracy/Disclaimer: (b/c i had a few comments about this on my first challenge)

I fully respect Simmers who focus on making their stories and challenges as historically accurate as possible, and it is definitely something I strove to do in my first run of this challenge. However, I am allowing myself to be more loose with accuracy this go around, particularly when it comes to clothing and CC. I plan to use whatever I can get my hands on, especially in the beginning (you will see styles ranging from 1830s-1870's until we get to around 1880). So no, you cannot expect historical accuracy from this legacy, least of all from the clothing. If anything, I’d prefer we consider this more along the lines of historical fantasy. It’s the Sims, after-all, and I will already be omitting certain historical events that took place in real world America from my Sims game and legacy.

That being said, any commentary regarding my Sims, story, etc., being inaccurate for the time period will go ignored. Because, frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn.

Gen 3. Aurora #31 The Fun Part

"Briar Rose, Happy Birthday!"

Everybody was enjoying the moment, but Simeon needed a drink to prepare him for the evening ahead.

Dinner went smoothly enough.

Time to celebrate!

"I'm not telling you my wish!"

"I bet you'll get more than you ever dreamed of, Briar Rose... we have some news for you. But you'll have to blow out those candles first."

These two chuckled nervously at each other... they were so close to completing their mission to protect her.

I have never gotten this before in all the years I've been playing... need to commemorate.

"Congrats on reaching young adulthood! We couldn't be any more proud of you."
