Glennborough
Because I have the attention span of a gnat – well I do! – I’ve moved on to another world. I normally don’t play Medieval worlds because, well, sims have to WALK! Like really! And if God had intended for us to walk, He wouldn’t have invented the internal combustion engine. Plus, sims can’t use their brooms in those worlds – which totally sucks.
But people have been posting really pretty pictures on here, of the Medieval worlds they’ve been exploring. So of course, I figured why not!
Anyway, 1st I tried Praaven – the re-worked version – which is gorgeous. But BIG! And even though I’m a card-carrying member of the SCA, it was a bit daunting. Then I looked at a bunch of other ones, but they were just blecch. Until finally I ran across a lovely little world called Glennborough. And as the 3 Bears would say, “It was just right!”
But of course, I can never just play a world – even though this one comes with a “saved game.” No, I have to tweak it. Which is what I’m doing.
The 1st build I tackled was the new town library. But since I forgot to take pictures, I’ll show it to you next time. But for now, I’ll show you the build that used to be the library.
It is now called the Old Tome Books and Tearoom – a name I stole from another creator. Anyway, I didn’t do anything to the outside. Well, on the bookstore end I added that sign and those books, but that was it.
On the other end, I cleared out all the bookcases, and used that Old Mill store set to make a place for my “refined” sims to gather. Because not all sims like to hang out in pubs. (Well, they don’t!)
When I got done with that, I hopped over to this lovely build. The Secret Society – or something. Anyway, it starts out as an empty shell, with 3 rabbithole rugs. But since I’m not sure if I’m even going to have all the rabbitholes in this town, I tossed the ones that were there, out. On the left end, I placed the science one, and on the right, the hospital rug. Then, in the middle, I made a small clinic – mostly because I wanted to use those nifty objects danjaley made. (The other ones are currently in my new library)
As sims come into the clinic, they’re greeted with a small waiting area, and the moans and groans of their fellow sims.
Then, in the back, is where the doctor does his whole bloodletting thing.
Then, over by the town livery stable – aka: equestrian center – is a nifty little Horse Arena, where sims can brush up on their horsemanship skills before riding off to war. The only thing I did to this lot, was add those 2 horse chess pieces and those torches – plus some more torches by the existing doors inside the lot. It was pretty much perfect the way it was.
And then my Sophie insisted that she needed to go outside and chase a bunny. So that was it. (She didn’t catch the rabbit – not even close!)
#sims 3 Glennborough world#@galadrielhs Thank you for this lovely world!#and danjaley for those AWESOME objects! They look great!

My Top Five Worlds! (In no particular sorting order)
I was tagged by @ninjaofthepurplethings. Thank you! Some of these are more “aspirational” than actually played--I always have ten thousand ideas bubbling around in my head, to be used at some point...
5) Innish Brecaimsir, which is absolutely gorgeous. If I can make it to Sorcha’s adolescence--well. Spoilers, haha. But Innish Brecaimsir, and Granuaile, may well come into play.
4) Glennborough in the Middle Ages, which is also absolutely gorgeous. If my computer wasn’t so old and I was better about using CC magic...ah well. The Fitzes made their start here!
3) Caldey Isle, which I want to go back to at some point. It needs a touch of historicizing, but I love little tiny islands. Lallybroch is one of my favorite lots there...not just because I wanted to move Alasdair there once.
2) Ziwa Bonde, because the instant I saw Great Zimbabwe I was like “I must use this someday. Somehow.” I’m a sucker for ancient ruins. I just need the right story!
1) São Paten, because while Latin American worlds are few and far between, especially historicized ones, sometimes I look at pictures of this world and daydream about sending my Sims there. All it needs is a version of the parque de las iguanas... (Link is in Spanish; it also features people petting the iguanas. Which may or may not be wise.)
I tag whoever would like to do this!

Most anticipated world would be Uranesia by @nilxis
Worlds I would most love to see completed would be Eastlands by @potato-ballad-sims and Cosmópolis by @mwthesims3
So many great worlds I spent a lot of time playing in, mostly any of @nilxis worlds, I particularly enjoyed Saaqartoq and Ziwa Bonde for their uniqueness, Northeney by @nornities Cronor by @nornities and @crowkeeperthesimmer , Caldey Isle by @stellatorontosims and Glennborough by @galadrielhs-simblr for medieval worlds.
All of Aaron Rodgers worlds (createaworldblog, which has sadly been deleted now) are well made/work well and I love the original content they all came with. Strangetown is my favourite of his.
