Terrapin Oasis

The ancient city that once surrounded this oasis lies in ruins, but the water still tastes sweet.

Just like the original iteration of this lot, I made the oasis a swimmable lake. I'm currently pretending that I don't see the floor edge, but I'll go back in and hide it eventually.

Spring in the seaside province of Hadria was gorgeous. Julietta intended to soak up as much of the sun as she could. The young girl would often rouse the dogs to come into the front gardens with her. Najya and her brood were shaping up to be a fine pack of hounds, as in between lessons Julietta spent her time training them.

*blows dust off draft post* I wasn't sure if I'd ever post this, after I borked my game... But here we are! A while ago, I started a new medieval charter challenge because that's what I do. Here's some pictures of the small settlement.

I got inspired by @lochlander with regards to architecture. It made it so much easier to build nicely and coherently. I think my lil' neighborhood looks quite good.

Back to my sort-of Medieval Charter Challenge, and here we have the peasant Feathers family, single father Brent and his daughter Jemima.

They're poulterers and have some chickens and ducks.

Brent's immediate thoughts turned to matrimony, as his toddler really needed a mother figure. Theodosia Day from the Almshouse showed a lot of interest in little Jemima. However it is single peasant mother Rosemary Wilde who has grabbed Brent's attention.

A sudden freak lightning bolt did nothing but cause a greater spark between them!

And so, to make an honest woman of her, and because their foraging business is very successful, Brent and Jemima moved into the Wilde household and took Rosemary's name.

Now that's one busy 2-room hovel! Next time we'll meet the peasant Farmer family.

Medieval sim Home for My Gentry

While back I started a new challenge, The Medieval charter Challenge. I just want to show off some of these builds because, I feel so proud. Both areas are part of the home, one is unfurnished to this day, ish. He's toughing his daughter how to fight in that area because it has a lot more space there. I uses it as the area to host parties as well.

The Sim who lives here is Eadwine sommer, The Gentry. His past time, drinking and teaching his daughter how to read, who he got off his now dead lover, who lived in a different household, and there was 8 sims in that household. 8 turned to 4 after a fire. Then day 3 of the round, his daughter moved in with him. He loves his daughter, Ravenna. And he's trying to court a woman, but every time he ask her on a date, she say yeah and then leaves.

Round 1 started like this.

Today we are visiting the other single mom's household, but this one should be easier in that there is only one kid and no pregnancy. But also no extra maternity income, so Shime Yu will have to open her fishmonger's. This is also the last chance to fish before winter, unless I decide to give her the Sun&Moon ice fishing. Unfortunately, the pond froze when it was still fall, so Shime didn't get to fish much.

She got lucky with the ROS at least - she just needed to throw a party. I rolled to see which party it should be and it turned out to be a 'baptism', so a birthday party for her baby was the perfect choice. I don't think baptism would be accurate for this region, but the Yu family is very close to water, so performing some water ritual would make sense for them.

Having her monk-husband over was probably a very awkward encounter for her. But maybe the father wanted to make sure their baby is of the same belief. Shime is n o t having her kid taken to the monastery, though.

This ROS was actually perfect for her, because Shime had been wishing to have a party for some time... I find it very interesting she started out with this want, even though she is not a Popularity sim (and she's also extra shy). The same thing happened with Fumi Tian, a Family sim (but at least that sim is outgoing).

Sangen is a Gemini and he's quite different from both of his parents. He's max Outgoing, as opposed to his max Shy parents. He's 3 Grouchy, while his parents are 7/8 Nice. But he's also max Active, and his parents are 7/8 Active, too. He's 6 playful (his mom is 8 Playful). And he's 6 Neat (his dad is 9 Neat).

Because of the birthday cake age up, Sangen started off with one less day as a toddler, so I later gave him this day back and he managed to learn all his toddler skills and he was taught how to sing the Nursery Rhyme. He will become a child at the very beginning of the next round, just like Yong Siew. ~*~

Shime bought 2 more daisy bouquets and 2 wildflower bouquets... I sold the daisies, because she doesn't need 4 of the same flower pot in this house.

She opened her store on one day this round and she managed to get her store to rank 1. She also got the Bronze Sales badge. She earned 916$.

366$ - tax

92$ - tithe

She needs to pay 958$ + 886$ for the last round. I rounded it down for her to 1800$.

The Wizard's Tower, Round 1 Part 3

Sana runs into Lady Matilde, mother of the earl -- the very same who imprisoned her lover. Some insults are exchanged and a fight almost breaks out. Luckily, it's after dark, and no guards are around for Matilde to call upon.

Sana's anger towards the earl does not look good, either -- as the niece of the official mage of the royal court, she'd be wise to keep her relationships with nobility neutral at the very least. The anger may only serve to cloud her magical training, too.

Philippe comes by in the morning, presumably to ask for Itzel's blessing! Ahhh this is so exciting, my first in game romance in the medieval hood, coming to fruition :)

Sana is happy to see him when she comes home from a house call...

I've finally finished decorating the Royal Medieval Castle! Yahoo!

Been a little while since the last time I worked on my Sims 2 Medieval Charter Challenge... Wow there is so much setup and I like to build everything so it's taking a long time. Maybe I will be able to actually play medieval sims some time soon!

Look! Wilmer is interacting with his son! I find it funny Wilmer is friends with his children that have not lived in the house all season and is not even close with the ones that do.

This also is a good point to talk about the Orne sons versus the Brahe sons. Unless they get married, all of Elena's children are illegitimate and can not inherit a cent from Wilmer. Oskar and Isak are in a toss up for who will take over for Wilmer, but either way they are his heirs even if they don't live with him. So, once Wilmer dies the entire Brahe Brood along with their mother are at the mercy of Isak and Oskar.

The crops are thriving, and the family is ready to open their shop! They have a great selection of fresh vegetables and fruits available.
