I moved from Gshade to Reshade a while ago, and I used this amazing tutorial by @simdriella on how to do it without losing any shaders from Gshade. If you want to see my presets in your game like you see them on screenshots, please go and follow the tutorial.

Turn off edge smoothing in game settings for the MXAO to work correctly (if you like to play without MXAO, just disable it with hot keys or permanently)

Serotonin - A bright, bold, and dreamy Reshade / Gshade Preset!

Hello! I am happy to share with you a brain chemistry themed preset! This preset is bright, bold, and dreamy, which is why it is called Serotonin. It will add a some happiness to your game...get it? This is now available for early access. It will be released to the public on MARCH 23RD - DOWNLOAD IT HERE!

This is a collab with Simdriella, who created a complimentary extra bright and colorful preset, named Dopamine (DOWNLOAD IT HERE!).

Notes:

This preset works for BOTH Reshade (version 5.2.1) and Gshade.

Please check out the READ ME for all the information you should need to know to use this preset. There are thorough directions, example screenshots, and an explanation about how versions one and two differ.

For the smoothest gameplay - Turn off quint_MXAO, ADOF, and Bloom (if using version one).

I highly recommend you download my SHADERS and TEXTURES to ensure you have the ones required for this preset.

Base Sim Makeover: @Simdriella

Hi guys, I'm back with another Base Sim Makeover! This time it's a CAS Challenge by @simdriella . I feel like every new sim I made or gave a makeover became my new favourite and I can't stop making them!

Okay, the rules of Simdriella's CAS Challenge is very simple. I cannot change her body shape, any of her facial features, her skin tone, her eye color and her hair has to be blonde. Simdriella said that we are able to use Dark Brown CC for eyes so that's what I did instead of opting for the usual EA eyes.

MOVING BACK TO RESHADE from GShade 2023

-Don't uninstall GShade yet!

Uninstalling GShade removes the gshade-shaders folder which contains all the content. It does not remove GShade's executable file. This guide will help you do that.

You can uninstall it right before installing ReShade. Uninstalling it after will break ReShade!

If you have already uninstalled check step 2 for a back up link.

1.Identify your game folder, and open it in Windows Explorer.

This is where you installed The Sims 4. It contains TS4.exe. (C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin) 

2.Back up the C:\Program Files\GShade\gshade-shaders and game\gshade-presets folder.

This contains GShade's shaders and presets, obviously. If you have lost it, download a backup of the full shader and preset package here. You just need the “shaders” folder from there and you can ditch the base presets - you will use your favorites.

3.Delete d3d9.dll in the game folder. (If there's a file called d3d11.dll there, delete that too.)

DO NOT DELETE THIS FILE IF IT'S IN THE C:\Windows FOLDER! IF YOU ONLY HAVE A dxgi.dll OR d3d11.dll FILE THERE, SKIP THIS STEP! YOU MUST BE IN THE game FOLDER! DELETING THE WRONG FILE WILL CAUSE WINDOWS TO STOP WORKING!

This is GShade's executable file. The uninstaller does not delete this file, which is mildly suspicious, as it will continue to load into your game after uninstallation.

You can uninstall GShade at this point, if you have backed up its folders.

4.Install ReShade to “TS4.exe”.

Use this file - It’s an add on version 5.6.0 that seems to work perfectly. It's the exact same file as the one you would download from ReShade.

You must install the version with full add-on support. The regular build of ReShade might not work with The Sims 4.

Tick DirectX 9 while installing.

Do not tick the options to install the shader packs from vanilla ReShade during the install process. Only make sure to install the ReShade default shaders.

It will pop up a scary-looking message box warning of bans when you first launch. Just ignore it; ReShade can get you banned just as much as GShade can, aka it can't.

5.Replace the contents of the reshade-shaders folder with gshade-shaders's contents.

If you don't have a reshade-shaders for some reason, copy and paste gshade-shaders and rename it to reshade-shaders.

6.Copy and rename the gshade-presets folder to reshade-presets in the game folder.

This is to make presets work again. Despite what GShade team might have told you, you don't need GShade for presets.

7.Download this ZIP file, extract it, and move all of those .fx/.fxh files into your reshade-shaders\Shaders folder.

Remember to overwrite files if it asks!

This will fix compatibility issues, add new tools and make some shaders compile succesfully.

-You're done. Launch the game.

TIP: If youre preset looks oddly grey or dark do this to fix it.  It’s a fix for quint_MXAO that is needed for my presets (milky pastels & pink sugar)

Just set all three to 0 and hit ENTER.

It will load for a little longer but should be all good afer that!

My preset PINK SUGAR for gshade/reshade

Hey everybody!

I originally created this preset in June 22. I didn't like it that much so I left in my WIP folder for many months until December.

It was right before New Years Eve when I decided to give this preset a shot again.

And here we are!

This preset was also (just like Milky Pastels) designed for not so dull yet still smooth gameplay so that everyone can have a colorful cas/gameplay even with an older PC/laptop.

It works for CAS too!

UI is super clean and visible with this preset.

This one is more warmer, vibrant and playful than milky pastels.

Disclaimers:

-All of the outside pictures were taken in Copperdale on a sunny summer day around 10 am

-Don't forget to disable edge smoothing in game

-This preset is not designed for "professional" picture taking in game with blurry backgrounds etc. - there are no DoF/depth shaders used!

- For both CAS and GamePlay *(you can disable quint_MXAO for gameplay if you want to have normal UI without shadows but it's not necessary)

- Shaders used are listed as a last screenshot (you must have all of them for this preset to work properly)

- BONUS: if you don't want it to be grainy/film like just tick FilmGrain2 shader off.

- It also works with reshade (huge thanks to BlondeSimmer for testing it!)

- If you want your pictures exactly like mine above, I also used these mods:

My preset MILKY PASTELS 2.0 for gshade/reshade

Hello!  It's finally here! I've pampered my pastel preset enough to release it!

This preset was specifically designed for not so dull colorful yet still smooth gameplay.  I tried to use as little shaders/effects as possible so that everyone can have a colorful cas/gameplay even with an older PC/laptop.

Disclaimers:

-All of the outside pictures were taken in San Myschuno, Del Sol Valley and Copperdale on a sunny summer day / Only campfire grandpa is sunny winter in Willow Creek

-Don't forget to disable edge smoothing in game

-This preset is not designed for "professional" picture taking in game with blurry backgrounds etc. - there are no DoF/depth shaders used!

🌼Flower Power Eyeshadow (and BONUS Eyeliner)🌼

I am wicked excited to release my second piece of CC for May. This eyeshadow, named Flower Power, was inspired by a fun make-up look I found on Pinterest.

This eyeshadow comes in 8 swatches (7 colors and stand alone flowers). There are two different versions. The versions have slightly different flower placements so the eyeshadow can work with most eye shapes. I also included a BONUS EYELINER! The eyeliner is the two versions of the flowers. These flowers can be coupled with any of your favorite eyeshadows to achieve the perfect spring time make-up look!

1. For this eyeshadow there are two versions. The CM4 version is a bit transparent (you can see more of the sim's eyelid, so it looks more natural) and compatible with eyeliner. It does not cause any pixilation and works better with skin overlays.

The CM0 version is opaque and full vibrancy. This version is ideal if you are looking for full coverage. It is also compatible with custom/alpha skins.

I recommend downloading both versions and testing them out to see which ones work best for you. If you have any questions about the different versions or have any issues, please message me! ENJOY! 😊

🌸The Forbidden Forest Eyeshadow🌸

I am wicked excited to release my first piece of CC for May. This eyeshadow, named Forbidden Forest, was inspired by the dark greens of trees and light colors of wild flowers you might find in a forest.

This eyeshadow comes in 12 swatches. There are three different colors in four different versions. Each version has a unique waterline (v1 - color/gold, v2 - color only, v3 - gold only, v4 - no waterline) allowing for easy pairing with your favorite eyeliners!
