Meringue | A G/Reshade Preset for The Sims 2 by Plumbaleena

If you're like me and rediscovering the excitement of The Sims 2, then you’re in for a treat! I’ve created my very first G/Reshade preset for The Sims 2—introducing Meringue! This soft and subtle preset enhances the game's visuals, creating a gentle, eye-pleasing effect on both objects and Sims while toning down the game's harshness. I absolutely love The Sims 2, and everything it has to offer and wanted to make a preset that would make me enjoy being in the game more than I already was. If you don't have Gshade installed (which is the program I use for both TS2 and TS4) you can follow this easy tutorial on how to install it onto TS2 HERE

Once Gshade is installed you place the preset in this location : C > Program Files > EA Games > The Sims 2 Legacy > EP9 > TSBin > Gshade-Presets > Custom

To toggle the background blur on and off, it is unique to all my presets and the same combination SHIFT + 2

Override Mods :

Override mods have a special place in my heart. They allow me to have more control over my sims adventures and that’s always a win in my book! I decided to put together a few of my favorite override mods so that you can enjoy as well!

Main Menu Override:

These have become a must for me in the past few weeks. Since the update to the new one. . .I've been craving the ability to change it. I found some amazing Main Menu and Entry Screens via @plumbaleena Patron page. I fell in love with the array of options available and the ability to regain control over my sims game ( insert evil laugh).

It provides me with a different level of personalization when playing and uploading the override to my game was effortless and looks amazing in my opinion.

The minimalist in me has been satisfied with this override!

Item Override Mods:

Since we're on the topic of having control over your game. Did you ever wish there were more swatches to certain items? I recently did some CC shopping and landed on @vixonspixels patron page. There were so many to choose from but I can say I'm always happy to have the Wellness Journal Override or being able to change the Default Underwear pictured below.

Its the little things for me!!

Skins/ Overlays :

The use of skins and overlays take my game from basic to WOAH! They allow me to make my game a lot more tailored to the way I want to play. For example having the “Get Famous” pack made me want to include more real life celebrities sooooooo I found an amazing Rihanna skin by @thisisthem and was able to effortlessly add her as a teen into the game (see below).

The amazing part about skins / overlays are that they work for pets too! Creators - Jochitec and Lito Leunam “Tiger skin” made my gameplay more realistic and exciting. I checked for their Tumblr page and was unable to locate one however check out the tiger skin linked above and patron linked below.

I just love this skin/overlay because it makes Elena's "safari rescue" storyline much more exciting and opened a new world of skins and overlays for me!

☕ COFFEE & TEA OVERRIDE ☕

 I really love to go to coffee shops with my sims, to make hot tea or coffee in the morning, it adds some coziness and atmosphere to their pixel lives! 

 But alas, in the game, all hot drinks look the same (yes, yes, the same mug with some dark drink for all occasions):

   Not too long ago, I substituted cocoa with marshmallows and it turns out that this small substitution turned out to be a favorite of many! So I decided to redesign the appearance of absolutely all warming drinks (if I missed something - let me know in the comments!). To do this, I created new objects so that the appearance of each drink would be unique.

I was inspired to create this mod by the default mug replacement from the wonderful creator JariSimCC. His mugs look awesome and most importantly - they fit perfectly in the Sim's hand! He gave me permission to use his mash (i.e. he made the shape of the mug, I just drew textures for it). Be sure to check out his blog, he has a lot of cool CC content and different swaps!!! 

 Replaced all drinks from:

〇 tea brewer (Base Game)

〇 coffee maker (Base Game)

〇 electric kettle ("For Rent")

〇 espresso bar ("Get Together")

MAIN MOD: ~ Coffee&Tea Override ADDON: ~ Tuning Addon (increases the number of “sips” from 3 to 5, and adds 50 calories to coffee drinks)

 It is desirable not to put the files with texture replacement deeper than one subfolder in the Mods folder. Also, this mod will conflict with any mod that replaces these textures (I know for sure that A.I. Upscaled Food is not compatible with my mod).
