Farm Sim AU Lore: Holidays/Events

This is a list of all the holidays/events that Cordia celebrates, since Farm Sim games don't go for specific months, these holidays are categorized by season (but will also have an exact IRL date).

Note that this is a long ass post, hence the "read more" below.

Spring

Easter

Event Date: Spring 9th (April 9th IRL)

Start Time: 10 AM

End Time: 3 PM

Location: Town

Pretty much the same thing as regular Easter. While some of the eggs were colored by Larry (who else), A few days before the event starts, townsfolk are encouraged to create colored eggs and send them to the Town Hall before the holiday begins. The night before the holiday, eggs are hidden discreetly hidden throughout the town.

On the Easter Day, townsfolk can sign up to participate in the Egg Hunt, and can choose whether to go at it alone or with a partner. Meanwhile food and drinks are offered at the tables while the others wait for the Egg Hunt to start, and after it's over.

Once all willing participants have been signed up, the Egg Hunt will begin, in which all participants have a certain amount of time to find the most eggs in the amount of time given.

Once time is up, all participants will have their eggs counted, the one who earns the most eggs is declared the winner.

Jordan also has a booth that will sell Easter themed items, which will also be available in his store a few days after the holiday has ended.

Mechanic(s):

If Edd has a high enough relationship with someone, he can choose them to be his egg-hunting partner (if it's high enough with multiple people, he can choose one of three people, the three options are random if it's more than three.). This can help him get more eggs and thus a higher chance of winning. He can decline and go on his own if he wants.

Spring Jubilee

Event Date: Spring 21st (April 21st IRL)

Start Time: 10 AM

End Time: 3PM

Location: Kindlewood Forest

A holiday meant for welcoming in the warmer seasons and to commemorate the goddess Zinnia. It it held near the temple in the Kindlewood Forest.

On this day, a dance passed down from generations is held in Zinnia's honor. Although not required, participants are encouraged to wear suits or dresses that contain white and Zinnia's favorite colors (green, blue, and purple) at the event. Food and drinks are also offered at the event.

Offerings are also given to Zinnia's shrine and a commemorative song is sung by the dancers, capping off the festival. Jordan will also sell Spring Jubilee exclusive items.

Mechanic(s):

Edd can ask any of the eligible bachelors or bachelorettes to dance with him, if he has a high enough friendship with someone (four hearts at the minimum), they will accept, but will decline if it's too low.

If Edd dances with one of the marriage candidates, his friendship with them will increase by one heart.

Summer

Summer Jamboree

Event Date: Summer 11 (June 11th IRL)

Start Time: 12 AM

End Time: 7 PM

Location: Sunseed Beach

The Summer Jamboree is a holiday of fun and merriment, it is held at Sunseed Beach. Food and drinks are offered at the event. The main attraction of the Summer Jamboree is the three contests/games that are played during the event. Those attending may choose to participate in some or all of the events.

Fishing Contest: Contestants are tasked with catching as many fish as they can, each fish caught contributes to points the catcher gains, the one with the most amount of points wins. The rarer the fish caught, the more points given.

Beach Volleyball: A tournament style contest. Six teams of 2 players will be made. Split into 3 rounds. In the first round, the first two teams will face off against each other, then the next round has the other two teams facing off against each other. The teams that win their respective rounds will face off against each other in the last round.

Piñata: Participants are tasked with breaking a piñata filled with candy. Each participant will take turns attempting to break the piñata with a bat (or similar object should one not be available.). Each participant is only allowed one hit before they must pass the bat to the next one in line, this will rotate until the piñata is broken, to which the one who dealt the breaking blow will be declared the winner and get the biggest share of the candy, the other participants will receive a small share of the candy as consolation prizes.

After the games are finished, a fireworks show is held, capping off the event. Jordan will also sell Summer Jamboree exclusive items.

Mechanic(s):

The effects of the fishing rod (it's upgrade to iron, silver, gold, or orichalcum) apply here, the higher the upgrade, the better chance to get rarer fish during the Fishing Contest.

If Edd has a high relationship with his beach volleyball partner, both him and said partner will gain small boosts such as faster movement speed.

The effects of the hammer (it's upgrade to iron, silver, gold, or orichalcum) apply here, the higher the upgrade, the more powerful Edd swings will be, and thus a higher chance of breaking the piñata.

Starlit Market

Event Date: Summer 22nd to Summer 26th (July 22nd to July 26th IRL)

Start Time: 7 PM

End Time: 3 AM

Location: Pier (Sunseed Beach)

The only event that takes place on more than one day. A travelling merchant ships comes to Cordia to sell goods and services, from painters, to shopkeepers, to entertainers. Unlike all the other holidays, shops will still be open until their regular closing time, unless the shop owner is attending the Starlit Market.

Decor Boat: A merchant sells decor exclusive to this shop as well as previous/future holiday decorations if you missed the chance to get them or wish to get them early.

Painters: A famous painter sells a different painting each day of the Starlit Market, these paintings are ones you can't get normally from the general store.

Fishing Sub: A captain will allow Edd to go for a round of deep-sea fishing for a fee, to which Edd will be able to find rarer fish and items.

Magic Shop: A merchant sells exclusive magical items, weapons, gear/clothes, fantasy-themed decor, and seeds that can't be purchased otherwise during the Summer. Stock changes each day.

Theater Boat: A traveling movie theater, acts like the regular theater but it has movies exclusive to the theater boat. Before the Starlit Market, you can purchase a ticket from the theater and give it to one of the townsfolk to invite them to one of the movies. Movie featured changes each day.

Transport Boat: A cloaked figure will offer to take Edd home to his farm on his boat for a small fee. Basically a form of fast travel back to the farm.

Mermaid Show: A travelling troupe of mermaids who dance and sing to entertain guests. After which, Edd can solve a puzzle to gain a rare pearl, a universally loved gift and one that goes for a high price when sold.

Cola Trader: A merchant will sell a can of cola (which boosts speed) for a small fee. Can only give one can a day.

Fall

Harvest Festival

Event Date: Autumn 5th (September 21st IRL)

Start Time: 12 AM

End Time: 7PM

Location: Kindlewood Forest

Similar to the Spring Jubilee, the Harvest Festival is meant to commemorate a god, in this case, Mechanus, as well as welcome the colder seasons. It is held in the Kindlewood Forest near the temple.

The main part of the holiday is the food, at the start of the month, a sign-up sheet will be posted on the bulletin board, to which townsfolk can sign up for the Potluck Contest, in which they will create and submit a dish that will be judged on the day of the festival.

On the day of the festival, everyone brings their dishes to the table for the big Harvest Feast. Once everyone arrives with their dishes, the Potluck Contest will start. The judges are The Mayor (Bing), The Mayor's Assistant (Larry), and a someone who didn't sign up as a participant for the contest (chosen at random).

The dishes submitted for the festival are presented to the judges one by one, each of them will taste it. After which they will give a rating of 1 to 10, which makes 3 points at the minimum and 30 points at the maximum. The one who's dish gets the most points is declared the winner and receives the grand prize, prizes are also given out for 2nd and 3rd place.

So far Vince has been the reigning undefeated champion since the Cordia began doing the festival again, until Edd shows up of course.

After which, offerings are given to Mechanus's shrine and a commemorative song is sung by the townsfolk. Then they cap off the event with a the Harvest Feast.

Mechanics:

If Edd has a high relationship with the third randomly picked judge, even if the food's quality would grant him a lower rating, there's a higher chance the third judge will give a higher rating regardless.

When Edd wins for the 1st place for the first time, Vince will give Edd a special recipe for a universally loved food that can't be obtained otherwise: Kindleberry Pie, a pie made from the rare Kindleberries, found and grown only in Cordia.

If Edd is married, his spouse is barred from being the third judge, because that'd be TOO much favoritism.

Dusk and Dawn aren't allowed to judge either, both because they're kids, and because Dawn's VERY picky and prone to tantrums.

Halloween

Event Date: Autumn 16th (October 30th or 31st IRL)

Start Time: 7 PM

End Time: 12 PM

Location: Town

Pretty much the same as regular Halloween, except without the trick-or-treating (due to the size of the town not being optimal for the trick-or-treating experience.). Instead of trick-or-treating, a spooky party is held in the town, offering food, drinks, and fun games to play for candy and prizes. Jordan will also sell Halloween themed items. Before the event, Halloween costumes and accessories can be bought at the Tailor Shop and Accessory Store respectively.

Although not required, townsfolk are encouraged to wear costumes, often by giving a bit more candy after the games to costumed folks than non-costumed folks.

The main attraction is the haunted maze, where the participants must find their way through a maze filled with spooky decorations. Somewhere in the maze is the Golden Pumpkin (a universally loved gift, and sells for a very high price when sold) which the participants are tasked with finding it first.

Town Fair

Event Date: Autumn 27th (November 27th IRL)

Start Time: 11 AM

End Time: 6 PM

Location: Town

The Town Fair is considered the “last hurrah” before everyone starts getting ready for the coldest time of the year. Games and attractions are set up around down, from the games participants earn “Leaf Points” that they can trade for prizes such as exclusive decor, outfits/accessories, rare items, etc. These games and attractions are:

Spinning Wheel: The game that gives the highest amount of Leaf Points but also the most difficult to win, since it’s purely luck base. Participants choose a color out of 6 (Red, Orange, Green, Blue, Purple, and Pink). The participant wins if the spinner lands on the color they chose. Requires 200g to play.

Fortune Teller: Self explanatory, the fortune teller will predict Edd’s future regarding his social status with a certain townsfolk or an future event/mechanic that is in the process of being unlocked. She can only do this once, any attempts to get another fortune will be denied. The fortune costs 100g.

Fishing Minigame: Pretty much the same as the Fishing Contest from the Summer Jamboree. Except the points you get from fish translate to Leaf Points earned depending on how many fishing points you get. Requires 150g to play.

Shooting Gallery: A game that utilizes the slingshot to break targets. Like a typical shooting gallery, smaller targets earn more points than the easier large ones. The more points you get in the minigame, the more Leaf Points you get. Points also get a multiplier based on accuracy at the end. Requires 100g to play.

Strength Test: The cheapest way to earn Leaf Points but the one with the least amount of Leaf Points given. Pretty simple, strike when the power gauge reaches green for a stronger hit, if the slider rings the bell, the participant wins, there is no fee for playing this minigame.

Puffer Burst: Participants race to burst their balloon first by spraying water into the “pufferfish”’ mouth hole. The one who bursts their balloon first earns the most Leaf Points, with second and third place getting a small amount of Leaf Points. Requires 100g to play

Bowling: Pretty self explanatory. The more pins you knock down the more points you get. The more points you get, the more Leaf Points you get. Requires 100g to play.

Winter

Christmas

Event Date: Winter 25th (December 25th IRL)

Start Time: 10 AM

End Time: 3 PM

Location: Town

It’s very similar to regular Christmas, with the main attraction here being the “Secret Santa Exchange”. At the start of the month, all the townsfolk are given a letter about the upcoming holiday and assigns them a gift recipient that they will give the gift to on Christmas Day, but they are never told who is giving a present to them, that’s a surprise for the big day.

Its heavily discouraged to disclose information about gift recipients before the gift exchange takes place. Nobody is required to participate in the gift exchange, but it is considered a bit rude if you don’t (unless you have a good reason why you can’t of course).

On Christmas Day, the gift exchange starts when everyone has arrived and brought their presents. During the gift exchange, one townsfolk will be brought up to the middle, then the person who was assigned them will be asked to join their recipient and give them their gift. This goes on until everyone has been called up.

Dawn likes to give gag/cruel gifts during Secret Santa and is no longer allowed to give anything to Matt after the Mirror Incident. After Matt retreated to the Saloon bathroom crying, everyone, and I MEAN everyone gave Dawn the HARDEST of death glares.

One the gift exchange is over, everyone has a big feast, capping off the holiday. Jordan will also sell Christmas themed items.

Mechanics:

Tom usually never participates in the gift exchange. However, if Edd has a high relationship with him and ends up getting him as his gift giver, Tom will break his tradition and give Edd a universally loved item (explaining that he didn’t know what to get him, so he just stuck with “Ol’ Reliable”.)

Relationship points gained are doubled for the gift exchange, applies to all gifts though, best to not give them something they hate.

New Year's Day

Event Date: Winter 31st (December 30th or 31st IRL)

Start Time: 8 PM

End Time: 1 AM

Location: Town

Similar to regular New Year’s. The townsfolk gather around Town to eat food, count down till midnight, and party it up.

New Year’s is also the time when shooting stars can be seen, so it’s common for those participating to make a wish for the new year.

Edd has a list of options for a wish to make. The wish will translate to a bonus or effect that will last until the next year when he makes another wish.

Wishes include:

Higher Profits: Slight boost to money gained from selling products.

Better Luck: Slightly higher chance to find rarer items in things like ores, also effects the chance to get rare items from monsters.

More Love: Slightly increase relationship points received from talking to townsfolk, giving them gifts, etc.

Vieve grew up with a sassy demeanor and her parents have old videos on their camcorders to prove it lol, it never fails that the pair brings out the embarrassing vids during the holidays but vieve genuinely appreciates them

Although thanksgiving is a RACIST American thing, vieve never misses the opportunity to share what she’s thankful for in life and counts all of it as blessings! But it’s still fuck the pilgrims

Has held a friendsgiving before, loves any moment where she can host gatherings or attend them! either is quite fine. She loves being around people

the only time she likes to look back on the past is to see how she and her family carried themselves then and how the evolved into who they are now, it’s interesting to see

Loves “how it started vs how it’s going” posts and might have participated in a few

Always knew from a young age that she wanted to help people in some way, she was always doing something to help around the house and especially her aging/sickly grandparents

Felt offended that many people around school that she thought were her friends would stab her in the back labeling her as this “fake saint” since she rather spend her time volunteering instead of going to house parties in hs

Don’t get it twisted, she still went to those too & had her fun but definitely felt like it was the same routine and nothing ever felt fulfilling at these functions after awhile

Well known with all the cliques around school but had her own group of friends that fit into many of those cliques but she never felt obligated to stick to one social group. If you were nice and cool with her, she was the same to you, if you weren’t? Depending on her mood, she’d ignore you/say things under her breath or be “fake nice” as a form of being the bigger person

Has a curly hair routine that she consistently follows (after struggling to find the right products to make them flourish) and gets annoyed with if her curls don’t turn out the way she knows they can, it’s always frustrating when things don’t turn out the way you want them to but isn’t afraid to at least try

Three times is the charm! Is one of her mottos

loves bright colors, flowy attire, big hats, brimmed hats, bucket hats, berets, etc...

Has faced racism/prejudices and bullying growing up in public spaces—mostly school/uni & some of those same hatred actions online now that she’s dating seb

Because of that there were times where she felt insecure but deff grew to forgive, heal, and rise above the hate, she knows her worth

Has never been happier in a relationship than she is with seb, he’s her “moody long-haired, soft-hearted bby”

they’re both complete fools for each other and vieve is more vocal about her being in love/finding her soulmate whereas seb doesn’t mind showing it rather than speaking it—even tho he’s on a podcast but we mind our business okay?!

Seb is thinking of moving to Australia with vieve, he’s ready to risk it all for this woman, HIS woman 🤩

I think since they’re in this for the long game they can look back on moments and still feel the way they felt in that moment. You know if you get the chance or have already heard elderly people talk about their relationships and how they get all starry eyed? That’s vieve & seb, that shit gets me right in my feels ew

Vieve’s love language is quality time, it’s what she shows and likes along with acts of service from her partner

Trying to be on a plant-based diet only but will have her cheat days on occasion—mostly when she’s drunk and forgets her diet plan lmao that’s me getting double cheeseburgers or anything with dairy drunk af

now living in Australia, she tried to like vegemite but...the it’s a no for her, respectfully ofc! She never wants to disrespect anyone

besides the food, the atmosphere is much nicer since she feels like she’s on a holiday almost everyday and that there’s much more to see and do when she has the time

Loves the beaches and is thinking about surfing lessons

yes she enjoys those doctor shows and can agree that most scenarios are not the same as rl ofc but great question!

Since she’s a junior doctor now, and on her way to graduation! She feels so accomplished and having this chance to complete what she’s wanted her whole life in a different place, makes her super emotional

All those stressful all-nighters will be worth it. She mostly did it on her own but is nothing but humble and Is thankful to those that have helped her along the way, what kind of person would she be if she didn’t mention them?

and when COVID hit, she was one of many already on the frontlines. Her studies became altered but this wouldn’t stop her for her mission on this earth, this was her purpose and she knew we would conquer it all—but definitely has empathy and gets angry with how it’s being handled from time to time

She’s been exposed to it first hand which aboustely worries her parents, seb, her friends, and friends from the villa

Keeps up to date when all medical news, has a whole app dedicated to health

Learning French with some of her free time and is doing well at it

It was only natural for her to become closer to elladine since their men are homies and have a podcast together

They’ve hung out a few times on a double dates before the boat vacation & once just as girls before vieve left to Australia

Vieve is always offering advice but knows that every relationship is different and what works for her and seb won’t work for elladine and Nicky, she loves them together and knows everyone has bumps in the road

feels there’s some sort of tension between her and Harry now? Which she found a little off putting since they were supposed to be friends but she realizes that Harry has a condition but it’s also not an excuse for him to treat her shitty sometimes which he does and feels like it comes out of nowhere most times but he always apologizes yet vieve is slowly getting tired of this unhealthy habits

She’s also noticed some of the shit talking coming from Elisa, Allegra, Lucy, and mc s1 (subtle shade from mc, basically about how vieve reacted if mc decided to give Harry a go but that was only brought to her attention thru fans) online but again, vieve peeped it and felt majority of it didn’t require a response. She was too happy in life rn and she had a man and they don’t

Plans to get a komondor, thinks they’re super cute! — seb does not “if you love me, you’ll love our child.” “It’s a bloody mop dog! And I’m a cat dad, you know that!” “Don’t talk about him like that, he’s got feelings just like your cat babies!”

I feel like she’s a matcha & Frappuccino lover, tries to keep her drinks simple and feels guilty when she has to make adjustments but the heart wants what it wants

Mini Countryman owner, she also drives like a “granny” better safe than sorry! She hates fast drivers, there’s absolutely no need for it!

Minimal makeup: eyeshadow, moisturizer, & a nude lip and she’s good to go

Austin wasn't the only one feeling the love bug tonight, it seems. Landon holed up in her room and got artistic (for the first time in her life), but she couldn't hide it for long.

despite his begging, Landon refused to tell him who she'd be promposing to. regardless, he could tease her about it for the rest of time, and he was fine with that.

Austin and Jordan met up for lunch at school the next day, and Austin, through an annoying amount of blushing and stammering, managed to ask Jordan if he planned on going to prom.

and Jordan agreed to meet up with Austin at the dance! the rest of the day, Austin couldn't pay attention at all, even in art class. his own promposal had been successful, and he hopes that Landon's went alright too, because then he and his sister can get ready together and take lots of pictures.

Talia ruffled his hair when she heard the news and invited him to go outfit shopping after school with the three of them.

I was tagged by @justasimthing. Thank you! I love doing these! I know I was tagged by someone else and I’ll do another sim for that one.

For this one I’ll do Jonah Reagan. He’s been in my head a lot lately. I’m going to answer these questions from the beginning of his story that will be starting soon.

What is your sim’s zodiac sign? Aries

What is your sim’s ethnicity?

Does your sim have any nicknames? Not really a few kids at school called him Jo which he hated.

Do they have a job? If so what is it? Yes. He plays piano in a bar.

Where does your sim live? the wrong side of San Myshuno

Who does your sim live with? in a run down apartment with his baby

What environment did your sims grow up in? (strict, loving, cold etc.) In a very loving home. Something he hopes to give his own child

What are your sim’s favourite food? Anything made by his dad. Riley is an awesome cook!

What is your sim’s favourite drink? Water. It’s all he can afford

If they have one what is your sim’s favourite color? White

Does your sim believe in any clichés? (love at first sight) His favorite cliche is What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. It’s his motto to live by.

What is your sim’s sexuality? Gay

What is your sim’s gender identity? Male

Is your sim type a or type b? He’s more of a type b personality

Is your sim introverted or extroverted? He was always more of an extrovert in school but due to circumstances he’d become more of an introvert.

What is your sims favourite woohoo position? He doesn’t know. He’s only ever done it once and that left him with a little something extra.

Is your sim a pet person? If so what is their favourite animal? He’s always wanted a puppy. Maybe one day.

Does your sim have a best friend? He used to always say it was his twin Jayden. But they haven’t spoken in months.

What is/was your sim’s favourite school subject? He liked any class that was creative, art, music, dance.

Is/was your sim a high, mid or low achiever in school? High.

Are they planning to go or have they already been to college? If so, what would be or what was their major? He had a scholarship to a prestigious creative arts school to study music. He had so many dreams.

What is one thing your sims wants to do before they die? see his child grow up and be happy

Is your sim a Netflix viewer? If so what are their top 3 shows. He can’t afford a TV much less a subscription to Netflix

Does your sim like books? If so what’s their favourite one? He loves books especially books written by his dad, Jackson Malloy

Does your sim enjoy video games, if so what is their favourite one and do they play on PC or console? He never played video games growing up and now he doesn’t have time to play

What is your sim’s personal style? anything he can get at the Goodwill

Does your sim have a lucky charm? No although he could use one

Is your sim religious? It’s hard to believe when your life is in shambles

What kind of music does your sim listen to and who is their favourite artist? Classical. He loves the music his dad Riley Reagan composes. He knows all of them by heart.

Is your sim a festive person? If so what’s their favourite holiday? He used to be. He hopes one day he can be again.

What is your sim’s favourite type of weather? it doesn’t matter he’s often too busy to notice.

Does your sim prefer to start fights or finish them? he doesn’t like to fight.

Does your sim have a dream job? Yes. He wants to follow in his dad’s, Riley’s footsteps and become a famous composer.

Does your sim have any siblings? Yes, a twin brother (Jayden), two sisters (Raelyn and Roan) and two baby brothers (Jordan and Julian)

Does your sim get along with their family? He used to but that was before he left.

What is your sims favourite hobby? listening to music/dancing

What does your sim look for in a romantic partner? someone who makes him feel safe and doesn’t judge him for his past mistakes. This comes later though.

What is a secret about your sim? You’ll have to read his story to find out.

What is a wish your sim has? he wants to be able to go home but he doesn’t think he can

What is a flaw your sim has? Low self esteem

How do others generally perceive your sim? Anxious

Does your sim have a greatest achievement? If so what is it? He doesn’t think so ....

If they have one, what is your sim’s greatest regret? leaving home the way he did

Does your sim use simstagram? If so what’s their @? He used to have one but he can’t remember what it is now. It’s not like he can use it after his phone was stolen and he can’t afford to get a new one.
