2025 Toyota Tundra With Ultimate i-Force Max Hybrid Reviews
Tumblr media
2025 Tundra takes a different approach to the full-size truck segment compared to its American competitors. The old V-8 engine is gone and replaced by a twin-turbo V-6 engine available in two power levels, including a hybrid version.
Toyota offers two different four-door cabins basically mid-size and large and all are wrapped in chiseled sheet metal. Rather than chasing the biggest towing and hauling ratings.
One of the online media sites of toyota car enthusiasts toyotasuvmodels.com model revealed that: 2025 Toyota Tundra seems content with more moderate numbers that should still satisfy most light truck buyers. The coil-spring rear suspension gives the Tundra a degree of modesty, and a host of off-road features and packages ensure good performance when you leave the road.
The Tundra's latest cabin is much better than before, especially in the luxurious upper trim levels, but it still doesn't meet Ram and Ford standards. Strong and smooth powertrain, bold styling, smoother coil spring suspension.
What's New for 2025?
Toyota has discontinued the TRD Sport package from the Tundra, the rear-wheel drive version of the TRD Off-Road. The slick Solar Octane paint finish will also no longer be available in 2025.
There is a new TRD Rally optics package and the SR5 has electrically adjustable front seats as standard.
An electric tailgate is now available on the SR5 and standard on all trim levels above, front massage seats are now available on Platinum and Capstone models, and the 1794 Edition gets a unique embossed tailgate.
Tumblr media
Interior
While the current Tundra is much better than the previous generation in terms of material quality and design, it doesn't bring anything new or revolutionary to the full-size truck segment. The interior is rather monotonous and features some hard plastics here and there.
Moving up the equipment hierarchy, there are the usual upgrades in materials and equipment, culminating in semi-aniline leather seats from the top-end Capstone models, American walnut interior trim, acoustically laminated side windows, and a head-up display.
The dashboard has a bold yet purposeful design, and the wide center console has a gearshift bin and plenty of storage space. Analog gauges and a small driver information screen are standard, but the highest trim level has a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
The extended cab (also called Double Cab) is available with a 6.5- or 8.1-foot cargo bed, while the longer Crew Cab (also called CrewMax) is offered with a 5.5- or 6.5-foot cargo bed.
Opting for the shorter cab won't affect the comfort of the front row, but it will reduce rear seat legroom from 41.6 inches in the Double Cab to just 33.3 inches.
Engine
The Tundra offers three powertrains, all based on a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 engine. In the base SR model, the engine produces 348 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque; otherwise, the engine produces 389 horsepower and 479 pound-feet. The third option is a 473-horsepower hybrid.
All use a smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission. The Tundra with all-wheel drive is a part-time drivetrain; there is no full-time system like on competing trucks.
Towing and Payload Capacity
The Tundra can tow a maximum of 12,000 pounds. While sufficient, that rating makes it the least capable truck in the half-ton class. The Ford F-150 leads with a 14,000-pound rating, followed by the Chevrolet Silverado's 13,300 and the Ram 1500's 12,750. The Toyota's max payload is 1940 pounds, far behind Ford's 3250-pound rating.
Tumblr media
Safety
All Tundras are equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 driver assistance technology, which includes automatic high beams, lane departure warning with steering assist, and more.
Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Trailer Detection is standard on Limited models and above. For more information on the Tundra's crash test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites.
Key safety features include:
Standard forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking
Standard lane departure warning and lane keeping assist
Standard adaptive cruise control
Price
The price of the 2025 Toyota Tundra is expected to start around $42,000 and go up to $65,000 depending on the trim and options.
SR $42,000 (est)
SR5 $48,000 (est)
Limited $54,000 (est)
Platinum $64,000 (est)
1794 Edition $65,000 (est)

Electric Pickup Trucks: The Next Frontier of EVs_NEWS from Test Miles on Vimeo.
As electric vehicles (EVs) charge full-speed ahead, a new frontier emerges: electric pickup trucks. These beasts, which once guzzled gallons of petrol, are now poised to conquer the electric highway, promising robust performance, lower maintenance, and eco-friendly credentials. But are they really the game-changer automakers claim? Buckle up as we explore the electric pickup revolution, from the pioneers to the up-and-comers. Why Electric Pickup Trucks Matter Electric pickups aren’t just a fad; they’re a practical evolution. With electric motors generating immense torque, these trucks are tailor-made for hauling, towing, and off-road adventures. Their hefty frames can house substantial battery packs, offering impressive ranges—many exceeding 300 miles per charge. For fleet buyers, the allure is clear: lower maintenance costs and reduced fuel expenses. Plus, their capability to power worksite tools directly from the truck's battery adds another layer of practicality. Given that commercial trucks clock more road hours than typical cars, their transition to electric can significantly slash greenhouse gas emissions. The Electric Trailblazers Leading the charge are three notable entries. First on the scene was Rivian’s R1T in 2022, an innovative truck featuring a unique Gear Tunnel for extra storage. Following closely was the GMC Hummer EV Pickup, a behemoth known for its extreme capabilities and party tricks like the Crab Walk. Not to be outdone, Ford rolled out the F-150 Lightning, a versatile model spanning from basic work trucks to luxury-loaded variants. What's on the Horizon? 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV Chevrolet’s 2024 Silverado EV promises up to 400 miles per charge and a whopping 754 horsepower. With a Wide Open Watts mode that zips from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, it’s as quick as it is powerful. This Ultium-platform truck will offer a Crew Cab design and versatile features like a frunk and a midgate for transporting long items. Ram Revolution EV The Ram 1500 Revolution concept made its splash at CES, boasting a 350-500 mile range and unique elements like a three-row cabin and Shadow Mode, where the truck follows the driver. Production is set for 2024, potentially featuring a range extender—a first among mainstream electric trucks. GMC Sierra EV GMC’s second electric truck, the Sierra EV Denali Edition 1, aims for an early 2024 debut. Mirroring the Silverado’s specs but wrapped in a more traditional guise, it offers 754 horsepower, 9,500 pounds of towing capacity, and lightning-fast charging capabilities. Canoo Pickup The Canoo Pickup, a standout with its forward-control design and compact yet spacious build, faced an uncertain future as the company pivoted to government contracts. Its 500+ horsepower and 200-mile range made waves, but production timelines remain elusive. Volkswagen Scout EV Reviving the iconic Scout name, Volkswagen plans a 2026 debut for its off-road-ready electric pickup. This American-made, 300-horsepower truck aims for a 400-mile range and a $40,000 starting price. Toyota Electric Tacoma Rumors suggest an electric Tacoma could be on the horizon for 2024. This smaller, more affordable pickup would fill a niche below pricier models like the F-150 Lightning, appealing to budget-conscious buyers seeking a rugged EV. The Contrarians While the big names charge ahead, several startups offer exciting, if uncertain, prospects. Companies like Alpha Motors with their Wolf series and EdisonFuture with their EF1-T showcase innovative designs and capabilities, yet their market entries remain speculative. The Bottom Line Electric pickup trucks symbolize a significant shift in automotive technology, merging utility with sustainability. As legacy automakers and bold startups vie for dominance, consumers stand to benefit from a diverse, competitive market. Whether they become the backbone of commercial fleets or the darling of adventure enthusiasts, electric pickups are set to redefine what these workhorses can do—one silent, torque-filled mile at a time.

Review: New 2025 GMC Sierra Pickup Truck
Tumblr media
The GMC Sierra 1500 is actually a synonym for "Chevrolet Silverado." Under all that chrome and paint, the two full-size pickups have comparable mechanical prowess, despite their distinct exterior designs.
The Sierra 1500 is available as a single cab, double cab, or four-door crew cab, just like the Chevrolet 1500. The bed length ranges from 5.8 to 8.2 feet. A base turbocharged four-cylinder, a hefty Duramax diesel, a 5.3-liter V-8, and a 6.2-liter V-8 are all available as powertrain options.
The Sierra 1500 ranks highly on two significant rankings. It has a maximum conventional towing capacity of 13,200 pounds, making it one of the strongest pickups in its class.
Even though the Sierra offers a large touchscreen and more leather than ever before in its cockpit, it cannot match the Ram 1500's interior elegance.
Introducing New Sierra
The 2025 GMC Sierra will likely usher in the next iteration of full-size pickup trucks. Notably, the vehicles of the next generation will feature new powertrains.
During a recent GM Investor Event, General Motors President Mark Reuss discussed the automaker's efforts to boost fuel economy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions with the forthcoming next-generation pickups.
Reuss stated that new powertrains with significant enhancements in efficiency and performance would be included. The next update to our engine portfolio for our next-generation full-size vehicles will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 10 percent compared to our current offerings.
In addition to updated powertrain options, the 2025 GMC Sierra will feature all-new exterior and interior designs and a completely new platform.
The next-generation GMC Sierra will not use the same platform as the GMC Hummer EV SUV and Hummer EV Pickup, which use GM's Ultium battery technology and Ultium drive technology.
Transmission, Engine, and Performance
The Sierra is offered with four distinct engines, two transmission options, and either rear- or four-wheel drive. The standard engine is a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder producing 310 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. It has an automatic transmission with eight speeds.
There are two available V-8 engines: a 5.3-liter with 355 horsepower and a 6.2-liter with 420 horsepower. A torque-rich diesel six-cylinder engine produces 460 lb-ft of torque. Each engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
On our test track, a fully-equipped Denali Ultimate with a 6.2-liter V-8 accelerated to 60 miles per hour in just 5.4 seconds. The Sierra 1500 is also available with adaptive dampers and rims measuring up to 22 inches in diameter.
While the Sierra lacks the off-road prowess of the high-flying Ford F-150 Raptor, it does offer two off-road-specific models. The robust AT4 model features a 2.0-inch suspension lift and other trail-worthy features.
The AT4X shares several features with the Silverado ZR2, such as advanced spool-valve dampers, electronic-locking front and rear differentials, additional skid plates, and 18-inch black rims with gnarly off-road tires.
A steel front bumper with a winch, AEV 18-inch rims, and steel rock sliders are included as part of the AT4X AEV package. The Sierra has a rougher ride than the Ram 1500, but it maneuvers exceptionally well due to its responsive steering and limited body roll.
Production Release
We expect the 2025 GMC Sierra to debut in the United States in the autumn of 2024. The following manufacturers are anticipated to continue producing the Sierra 2025:
GM Flint Assembly, located in Flint, Michigan, United States of America (HD)
(LD) GM Fort Wayne Assembly in Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States of America.
Mexico's GM Silao Assembly (LD)

I'll play devil's advocate for the large trucks for a moment here.
people keep posting lowered (intentionally, as a style thing) trucks as the optional truck. while yes, the modern truck is a grotesque status symbol in most cases, picked out solely to prove something, by people who literally use it like a fucking sedan...
there are practical reasons for lifts, usually involving the fact that when a truck is loaded, the wheel clearance decreases and you NEED to not have your chassis dragging on your wheels. and these trucks are still dangerous. this is a simple phenomenon you can see even in small cars (prowler is comically low but I noticed it when moving one time; I pulled the lifted springs shortly after bc they were shot anyway but I dunno if she'd have cleared the wheels otherwise). trucks for work do NEED to be a certain height for certain applications.
they're not very fun to drive so I have no fucking idea why you would ever buy this shit for pleasure. I briefly drove a Chevy 2500 to bring a quarter of my car to the body shop. it rides like an impala on stilts (aka with an insufferably high center of gravity). the visibility is... okay, I guess.
part of the issue is also the fucking inflated, hideous beveling and making every car look like as large as physically possible. blah blah safety blah blah but you're shrinking visibility from the inside and adding to curb weight and height.
point being, even this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
is a practical height, unfortunately, and that puts you in the kill zone.
this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
is not. this is excess. this is fucked. the only people who need this kind of height have very very very particular applications that aren't going to the fucking mall with your 3 dipshit kids.
bottom three are all the same truck (silverado 2500s), first one is the smaller 1500.
here's what they looked like in the 1990s (albeit their towing capacity was about half of their modern iterations) to compare size and styling:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
honestly I wish these fucking things just needed extra certification ala a CDL but lower grade than even a B-class. the inconvenience of extra drivers ed and sitting in a DMV would do a lot, I feel like, for deterring unnecessary purchasing of these things. plus, maybe it would fucking hammer home how careful you have to be driving them because of that decreased visibility and increased size.

Tumblr media
Basics About the Silverado 1500
The Silverado comes standard with the 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 engine but has an available 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 and the featured 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel I6 engine. The Duramax engine is built with an inline six-cylinder design and aluminum pistons, giving you up to 460 lb.-ft of torque and a highway drive range of 682 miles. The 10-speed automatic transmission helps keep the rpm within the most efficient levels.
The truck boasts an impressive towing capacity of 13,300 lbs. and averages 23/31 mpg city/hwy. The long bed models have 89.1 cubic feet of cargo space, and they can hold even more with the crew cab. The Silverado 1500 comes in 10 factory colors with four options for the interior.
New and Unique Features
The 2022 Silverado 1500 features the “most functional bed of any competitor” and has the resources to back it up. There are 12 standard tie-downs on the bed, making hauling larger items a breeze. The Durabed comes standard with an industry-first Multi-Flex power up/down tailgate.
Integrated Technology
The in-vehicle trailering system offers customizable trailer profiles for drivers and trailers, allowing you to hitch, unhitch, and switch trailers easily. The system includes a pre-departure checklist, trailer tire pressure monitoring, trailer light assessments, and the ability to sync information with your myChevrolet mobile app on your smart devices.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both supported within the Silverado 1500. A Wi-Fi hotspot is available as an upgrade and requires a paid AT&T plan, helping you stay connected wherever you are.
Interior Design
The 1500 is best-in-class for front head and leg room, with 43” of headroom and 44.5” of leg room in the crew cab, double cab, and regular cab. The available head-up display gives the driver access to important information like road speed, tire pressure, and rpm levels. Backseat storage compartments allow for additional gear or more room for road trip snacks.
Advanced Safety Features
The Silverado comes with multiple available safety features, such as:
Forward collision alert
Automatic emergency breaking
Adaptive cruise control
Front pedestrian braking
Land change alert
Rear cross traffic alert
Rear camera mirror (for assistance when trailering)
Whether you’re looking for a truck with best-in-class towing capabilities or one with integrated trailering technology, the Sierra 1500 won’t disappoint. Stop by Lithia Chevrolet of Redding today for a test drive. You may have just found your new favorite truck.

Most Dependable Used Cars of 2023 according to JD Power
This article will highlight the top reliable vehicles of 2022 according to JD Power studies and consumer data. If you’re in the market for a used car and want to research reliability on your own, look no further than JD Power. The consumer research firm conducts annual studies to determine the most reliable used cars on the market.
We're not all fans of sedans, and something larger, with more power, towing capacity, a workhorse, or off-roading capability suits many of us. If this describes you, here are the top three trucks of 2022.
Top 3 Used Trucks of 2022
First Place: Toyota Tacoma
In first place, we have the Toyota Tacoma. The mid-size pickup rolls up a reputation for rugged durability and off-road capabilities. Tacoma is, therefore, a popular pick for those who need a reliable tough nut for work or play.
There are good reasons why the Toyota Tacoma is the sales leader. It’s earned a well-deserved reputation for longevity and durability, a fact that helps the truck stay near the top of resale value charts year after year. It’s offered in many styles, including a few that are intended for off-road enthusiasts.
Second Place: Chevrolet Silverado
Next up is the Chevrolet Silverado. This full-size workhorse pickup has a powerful engine and a spacious and well-equipped interior. It's also known for its reliability on the job site and everyday driving. The Silverado has a good reputation for durability and longevity, and a second-generation Silverado from 2011 to 2014 delivers a balance between an affordability, reliability, and modern equipment.
The Silverado has a strong customer loyalty base, and its engines, transmissions and 4×4 systems seem to hold up well over time. In the world of used light-duty pickups, the Silverado is on par with the F-150 and above an older high-mileage Ram.
Third Place: GMC Sierra
Rounding out the top three trucks is the GMC Sierra. Like its cousin, the Silverado, the Sierra is a full-size pickup with a strong word on the street for reliability and a strong performance track record.
Historically, the GMC Sierra 1500 is a reliable quality truck that can be picked up at a solid price point. Our recommendation for the Sierra is to pursue a later model if available. The 2018 GMC Sierra through to 2021, are great pickup truck options.
-- At OC Auto Matrix of Costa Mesa, you’ll find a number of well cared for used cars, many with very low mileage, and all at unbeatable prices! We do the hard work so you don’t have to. Don’t bother searching Used Car Dealers in Santa Ana – just stop by our location on 16th street in Costa Mesa and take a test drive!
