Hold Me Steady
Pairing: Billy Taylor (The Halcyon) x f!reader Warnings: Dry humping. Word count: ~1.3k
Summary: Billy has a close encounter with one of the hotel's maids after agreeing to help her decorate the employee sitting space for Christmas.
Author's note: Day one of the Smuffmas prompts - "hand holding and dry humping". No tag list. Follow @fics-by-ewanmitchellcrumbs and turn on post notifications.
She struggles down the stairs into the employee sitting room, the beaten up, old cardboard box she carries hindering her view, meaning she has to pick her way carefully downwards, one step at a time.
Halfway down, a large set of hands grip the box from underneath, relieving her of her burden, and she’s met with the wide eyed curious stare of bellboy, Billy Taylor.
“I’ll take that for you,” he says, giving her one of his trademark tight lipped smiles, before walking it the rest of the way down for her.
“Thanks, Billy,” she tells him gratefully, sighing with relief. “You on break?”
“Yeah, got fifteen minutes left,” he responds, setting the box down next to a pile of stacked band equipment. “What’s in here then?”
“The foyer’s being decorated for Christmas,” she tells him, coming to stand beside him. “This stuff’s not good enough to go out, apparently. Can you believe Mr. Garland wants me to throw it away?!”
Billy crouches, tugging open the box, raising his eyebrows as he pulls out a length of threadbare silver tinsel. “I can, actually.”
She playfully swats him on the shoulder, taking the tinsel from him and weaving it through the iron bannister of the stairs. “Thought we could decorate the sitting room with it. Looks more festive already, don’t you think?”
Billy chuckles. “If it makes you ‘appy, then why not? Want some help?”
She smiles, feeling her skin heat up as he looks up at her from where he’s kneeling. “You’re on break, I can’t ask you to do that.”
“It’s not work if I actually want to do it,” he says with a shrug.
They grin at each other, and he continues to rummage through the box, pulling out cracked baubles and torn paper stars, as she surveys the small under the stairs space that the staff have to relax in.
“It’s weird to think I won’t be here next Christmas,” Billy muses, as he hands her decorations out of the box.
She looks away, focusing on running the colourful streamers through her fingers, doing her best to ignore the twinge of sadness that plucks painfully at her heartstrings. “Oh, yeah, you’ll be drafted, won’t you? I expect you’ll miss your mum’s figgy pudding.”
“I’d sooner have trench foot than eat mum’s figgy pudding, ‘orrible stuff.”
They laugh, and she allows herself a brief moment to admire the way Billy’s cheeks dimple and his eyes sparkle when he’s happy, before returning her focus to the decorations.
Within five minutes, the old piano in the corner is decked out in ragged paper streamers, the staircase’s iron bannister is woven with tinsel that’s seen better days, and a fruit bowl in the centre of the table contains the battered remains of tree ornaments of varying shapes and colours - a fitting centerpiece for the dowdy little space.
She steps back, admiring their work, eyeing the empty alcove above the brown leather sofa that’s tucked away against the back wall.
“Would be nice if we could hang this last piece of tinsel up there,” she muses, “not sure how we’d reach though.”
Billy steps behind her, looking with keen interest at the space she’s referring to. “I think there’s a step ladder in the storage room, wait here.”
He disappears out the back and a few moments later returns with a rickety wooden folding step ladder. It wobbles precariously as he unfolds it, setting it down near the sofa.
She draws in a nervous breath, brow furrowing as she looks at it. “Are you sure that’s safe?”
He presses his lips into a tight line, tugging at the hem of his uniform jacket. “Er…probably best if you go up, less chance of you breaking it. I can hold it steady.”
She hesitates for a few seconds, looking at it with uncertainty.
The final piece of tinsel above the alcove really would look nice.
“Okay, but promise you won’t let me fall?”
“Cross my heart,” he says, signing a cross over the left side of his chest.
She giggles, stepping forward and begins to climb up the ladder. It wobbles as she moves, making her breath hitch, until she feels Billy grab either side of it, holding it still. She climbs the rest of the way, pinning the last of the tinsel to the wall, allowing it to bow slightly in the middle.
It’s not until her hands are free that she realises the view that Billy must have, and brushes a palm over her skirt, making sure her backside is covered. She sees Billy turn scarlet in her peripheral vision, averting his gaze, and her heart flutters at the sight.
“Here, look, we missed something,” she hears Billy say, as she slowly starts to climb back down. She turns slightly, seeing him holding up mistletoe - a dried, long dead bunch of it, tied together with twine.
Butterflies flutter in her stomach at the sight. “That’s mistletoe, Billy…” She breathes quietly.
“Yeah…” he replies, chest heaving as he stares up at her.
A moment of silence passes between them as they gaze into each other’s eyes, until she leans down and presses a gentle kiss to his cheek.
Billy gasps, turning pink all the way to his ears, quickly stepping back, and she squeals, toppling forward as the ladder wobbles beneath her.
He is quick to drop the mistletoe, grasping her hands, allowing her weight to push him back into a seated position on the sofa, to prevent her from falling.
They both breathe heavily as she straddles his lap, their hands still clasped together, staring at each other with wide eyes.
“You saved me,” she whispers, “but you dropped the mistletoe.”
“You…you can still kiss me…if you’d like to?” He says hopefully.
She lets go of his hand, leaning in and pressing her lips to his. It’s soft at first, until his arm moves to wrap itself around her waist, pressing her close to him.
The kiss deepens, Billy groaning in approval as her tongue slips against his, their combined breaths hot and heavy against each other. She can feel his rapidly growing hardness through his trousers and grinds herself against it, as his hand slips beneath her skirt, the press of his fingertips feather light against the hem of her knickers through her tights.
There is nothing but the sound of the shared sticky click of their saliva as their mouths move together, and the creak of the leather sofa cushions as their hips push wantonly against each other. Desire sizzles in her blood, causing her core to throb with every press of his clothed length against her.
The sound of footsteps on the stairs leading down to the sitting room causes her to scramble from his lap, quickly smoothing down her maid’s uniform.
“Billy?” Calls out the voice of Feldman as he descends.
“Just on break, sir,” Billy calls back, standing and stealthily attempting to adjust himself.
“That ended ten minutes ago,” the older man says exasperatedly. “Come on, there are guests checking in upstairs with luggage that needs bringing to their rooms.”
Billy’s eyes dart around in panic, his cheeks flushing. “Sorry, sir, lost track of the time. Can I quickly go to the toilet first?”
Feldman sighs. “Make it quick.”
Billy nods, shooting her an apologetic look before walking quickly away.
She puts a hand over her mouth, stifling an embarrassed giggle, knowing exactly what he intends to do.
“What have you two been doing down here then?” Feldman asks her, eyeing her suspiciously.
She clears her throat, smoothing her hands over her uniform once more, hoping her flustered appearance doesn’t give too much away. “Putting up decorations, Mr. Feldman. Looks great, doesn’t it?” She asks with a smile.
His eyes narrow, distaste apparent on his face as his eyes sweep the room, before looking back at her. “Yes, if you say so.”
She stoops, picking the mistletoe up off the floor and tucking it away in her apron pocket. She has a spring in her step as goes back upstairs.
That will definitely come in handy later.

K80
Masterlist
Tumblr media
(sorry for the quality. The post wouldn't work with the full def version)
pd3367
Element: Sky
Species: Ai/Construct/Android
Age: Difficult to say
Height: Construct 30"(not including arms)/Android 5'7"
Physical Traits
Construct - A round construct with a flared base and silver segmented arms with simply grasping claws on the end. Black sensors for seeing and the marking of #K80 on his flare.
Android - caucasian, light blue, and silver body parts. Complicated robotic feet and legs. Yellow and blue eyes, light blue hair with two ribbon cables coming out at the front middle of his hairline. Tends to wear clothing leaving his arms and legs mostly exposed to keep clothing from being caught in his joints. Keeps a belt of tools to fix any parts or joints that might try and fail as he travels.
Personality:Friendly and curious. Very good at detecting scams and analyzing data. Not likely to go straight into a fight and prefers to talk his way out of it. Easily scared by situations or things that he doesn't know much about.
Attack Notes: K80 prefers to stay out of reach, his smaller body designed to zip around in the air. He likes to use the environment to set up traps or cause things to collapse and trap or kill enemies. More of a support character for solving problems and analyzing situations. In the realms of code and internet and signals, however? That’s a different story.
Background: K80 was created by a man by the name of Dr. Hyden Toma. This scientist worked and reworked code, trying to make an AI that was as life-like as possible. This is why K80's age is difficult to determine but it is hard to pinpoint when K80 became himself. Dr. Toma worked on the project for about 5 years before he had a good base to work off of. After another three years he had a very decent interactive AI. At this point he started to hit dead ends. He made a fairly life like AI, but he couldn't make the AI really become a thinking being. He started getting into magic to see if there was some combination of code and runes that would work. He studied necromancy and life magic for 6 years before he started trying to implement what he had learned in the code.
Eventually, slowly and surely with each new spell and amulet and artifact used, K80 came to life.
K80 lived in Dr. Toma's computer for about 8 years since the first spell used on him. After a time, he considered himself a person and he wanted to have a body outside of the computer to try things and develop likes and dislikes. Dr. Toma started working on an android body, but in the meantime repurposed a construct so K80 would have something to play with while he worked.
Eventually the android body was usable, though both K80 and Dr. Toma worked on making it even better and more realistic while being careful to avoid the uncanny valley.
One day, 3 years after K80 got his construct body, the lab was raided by an organization that had been alerted to what Dr. Toma was doing. They demanded his talents in making construct weapons and to share with them his knowledge of mixing magic and technology. He refused but they captured him to try and force him to do what they wanted, trapping K80 in his construct body and boxing him up to be sent to a lab and studied. Because of some confusion, he was kept in a warehouse for a month where he had to shut himself down to keep his battery from dying without access to a recharge station. When he was transported again it triggered him to wake up where he called out for help as much as a construct could and Oria, a snow elf that had been visiting Avangard, helped him escape and decided to help him find a power source, track down his body, and find Dr. Toma.
Bits and Bobs
-He can eat food. His body grinds it up, dries it out and burns it and uses that as an extra source of energy. He tends to avoid very wet food because it takes too long to dry it and can make him smell of rotting food. He really likes chips and freeze dried fruit.
-K80 spends a lot of time in his construct body. He's fond of it because it was his first body, but his android body turns out to be more useful in most situations, as is to be expected.
-Has a tendency to hide behind friends when there are strangers around. Very funny when he is hiding behind a shorter person.

Tides of Fate / Chapter III
Pairing: Mirabel Madrigal/Bruno Madrigal
Summary: Mirabel and Bruno give each other a present.
Word Count: 1164
Warnings (general): Incest, nudity.
A/N: Reblogging is caring
You can also read this fic in AO3.
Chapter 1 - Chapter 2
___________________________________________________________
It was dark and warm when Mirabel peeked behind a rock. It was a bit away from the place they had met yesterday, but she wanted to know if he was there before showing up. And he was! At the same place, sitting down, and anxiously fidgeting with his green shirt. She took a moment to contemplate him. She really liked his hair, and wondered how it’d feel under her fingertips. She knows how her own wet curls feel, but she has never touched dry hair.
She gets close to him, and makes some noise so he won’t get startled.
“Hello, there.” She says, trying to sound casual.
“General Kenobi.” He shuts his eyes closed, embarrassed of himself. “I’m sorry, I… I meant… Hi”
She smiles, even though she doesn’t quite understand what just happened. Must be a human thing. Then she remembers her present.
“Oh, I… “ Suddenly, she feels embarrassed about it. “I brought you a little something. I mean, it’s nothing, I just… Wanted to thank you for meeting me here, and being nice…”
He doesn’t say anything, so she just gets closer to the shore, until the top of her body is laying on the sand next to him, and her tail receives the waves that come and go. He tries not to look at her, and she doesn’t understand why. Did she do something wrong?
“I brought you this.” She extends her arm. “I hope you like it”
Bruno looks at the small shining disk in her hand, and takes it with curiosity. It’s heavy, and golden. It has a cross on one side, and a shield on the other side. It takes him a moment to realize this is…
“Mirabel, this is spanish gold!”
He takes one hand to his forehead, and takes a closer look at the golden coin in his hand. No doubt it’s so heavy.
“Is that good?”
He looks at her and suddenly remembers she has no idea what that means. He also remembers when he had no idea about it.
“Where did you find this?” He asks. Because he doesn’t really know if it’s good or bad.
“Oh, a couple of years ago I found a huge ship!” She says, excited. “And it has a lot of interesting stuff. I thought I could find you a gift there.”
He wishes he could say “show me”, get in the water and go there right now. But he doesn’t even know if he can be a merman again. When he first decided to live amongst humans, everytime he took a shower, his tail would appear and it was a disaster. But with time, it was only his legs with a lot of scales, and then, those disappeared too.
“That sounds wonderful.” He says instead. Then he remembers “Oh! I have something for you too. Or, well, u-us?”
Her eyes lighten up. He takes a small plastic box from his bag, and two small forks. She remembers the thing whose name she doesn’t know (the silver spoon). He proceeds to open the box, and she can feel a number of smells she had never felt before. When she goes up she usually smells… Salt. Wood. Sand. But this is new. It’s sweet and acidic.
“Okay, so…” He says, a bit nervous, but also excited “I didn’t live here all of my life. I was from… Somewhere else. And when I got here, this is something that really surprised me.”
He offers her a fork, and she just looks at him, embarrassed.
“Ay, disculpa.” Bruno takes the other fork and holds it in front of him. “Like this. It works like a small trident.”
“A small trident.” She repeats, in a whisper.
Then he puts the small plastic box between them. It contained different diced fruits.
“These are my favorite fruits. They grow from different trees.” He stabbed a piece of fruit. “This is guayaba. Very sweet, hard but edible seeds.”
Mirabel tried a piece of the same color. It was sweet and acidic at the same time.
“These yellow circles.” She picked one “Banana. Soft and sweet.”
The texture was so different!
“What about this one?”
“Dragonfruit.” He answered. “I mostly like the way it looks, to be honest.”
A bit sweet, soft, not really intense. She liked it.
“Oh, that one.” He said, when she took the last piece. “Chicle or chicozapote.”
This one, she loved it. It was soft, but very sweet. If she had known what honey tastes like, she would’ve thought of it. She groaned with pleasure before swallowing. She had never imagined such tastes could exist!
“That was so delicious.” She said with excitement. “I can’t believe you can eat those everyday! You’re so lucky…”
He chuckled, scratching his nape with a nervous look.
“Well, I eat other stuff too… Mostly fish.” She lifted an eyebrow. “I’m a fisherman.”
“Oh, right… Do you like your job?”
He stared at her for a moment. No one had ever asked him that before.
“I guess? I mean…” He started drawing figures in the sand. ”I’m good at it. It’s easy. Pays my bills. But I prefer writing telenovelas.”
“Telenovelas?”
Right.
“They’re stories with a lot of drama and ridiculous plot twists, basically.” He shrugs. “I like them. I write them sometimes.”
She sighs.
“Your world is… Fascinating.” She turns around on her side and lays on her back. “There are so many things I’ve never heard about, and it makes me wanna leave my current life behind.”
He doesn’t look at her. When he was still a merman, he was used to nudity. It was all he ever knew. It was still rude to stare, but you could see people’s bodies and it was normal. Then he started living as a human, and he got used to a different way to live. He even felt more comfortable that way. He never really liked his body too much, always felt insecure. And having layers to hide under made him feel much better.
“But these, uh… meetings.” Ae said. “They’re part of your current life too”.
She smiled.
“Yeah, I guess they are. ” She giggled a bit. “Does that mean we can keep meeting?”
He tries not to show how surprised and excited he is when he answers “Y-Yeah, of course!”.
“Maybe next time… You could teach me how to walk?”
This time he can’t help it, and turns his head around to look at her. She's serious. It’s not a joke.
“Walk?” This time he can’t hide how nervous he is “A-Are you sure?”
“Well, yes.” She shrugs. “If I want to know what’s out there, I have to learn how to walk”.
Well, that’s… Unexpected? Dangerous? Exciting?
“I… Ugh.” He groans. “I know you want to know, but are you sure?”
“Of course I am!“ She lifts her upper body with an arm, and bends her tail “Bruno, please. I can’t do this without you”
And that’s all he needed to hear. He’s fucked.

Note
ogun is silently as he approaches yomi, brows furrowed a bit before he silently observes the other. it's become easier to trust him and doflamingo, though it's obvious he's more inclined toward yomi, for reasons. yet, ogun finds himself seeking out the other because he feels...safe ? is that the correct word, the shoebill silently muses, as he reaches out, curling talon-like fingers into the hem of yomi's shirt. once he gains the other's attention, ogun is at a loss, not really knowing what to say. there's a moment where they continue to stare and the shoebill gestures to his wings, a handful of the feathers a little crooked. help him preen, please.
Tumblr media
Being disturbed in his work within the glass home was nothing new. The warmth in here often got the best of his companions so he did his best to play with the fluttering masses when it came to such a thing but today it seemed to be tolerable. Well, that was until he felt their presence, a sturdy gaze on his back but one of hesitancy in proximity. Yomi could only smile though as he knew who it was the more seconds passed by. A common wait, and when the weight of Ogun's grip on his shirt held dear, Yomi then moved into action.
Straightening his back from peering in food boxes and smiling upon the shoebills features. The way they stood was like stone at times, Ogun, though humanoid, was truly a splitting image of that of his true form. A fierce gaze, no matter what they were really feeling. Still, witnessing them at a loss did make his lips curve in delight - as it made him feel even more needed by these two creatures that had each other no matter what. "Of course, Ogun-sama." Yomi didn't need to be shown twice, he noticed the wing the moment he turned around. An odd shaped silhouette, even though he didn't see the wing perfectly.
"Shall we settle in the wicker chairs?" A good place to preen without items around them nor the smell of food to be brushed into each feather. To lead the way, Yomi eased himself to reach for the shoebill's hand - cradling their palm in his own to walk nice and slow. So not startle the shoebill, if at all, until they reached the seating area. It was already cleaned up by his hands, fresh fruits on a table sliced to perfection, water fountain cleaned over and babbling politely. Golden platters for play, silver and bronze bowls of seeds and even minced meats. A picnic for the duo that knew what to do with it.
"Have a seat, Ogun-sama, I will begin." His hands were shredded of their gloves, instead, reapplying another cleaner set, as he gathered a box to pry open and remove several items to aid him in cleaning the other's being's wings thoroughly. A soft bristle brush and a small water spray can and several dry clothes. Yomi was going to make Ogun-sama's wings shine so Doflamingo-sama can see them from his window seat!

Karwa Chauth Gift Ideas for Your Mother-in-Law: Thoughtful Ways to Express Your Love
Karwa Chauth, a cherished festival celebrating marital love and devotion, is a time for deepening family bonds. For many women, it's an opportunity to express love not only to their husbands but also to other important figures in their lives—like their mothers-in-law. Choosing the perfect Karwa Chauth gift for your mother-in-law can be a meaningful way to strengthen this bond and show appreciation. Here are some thoughtful gift ideas that will make her feel special and valued.
1. Traditional Saree or Suit
Nothing speaks elegance and tradition like a beautiful saree or an ethnic suit. Choose fabrics like silk, chiffon, or georgette adorned with intricate embroidery or embellishments. A regal Banarasi saree or a designer suit in her favorite color would be perfect for the occasion. This gift combines style and tradition, making it a heartfelt gesture for your mother-in-law on Karwa Chauth.
2. Jewelry
Jewelry has a special place in Indian culture, especially during festivals. A pair of elegant gold or silver earrings, a delicate necklace, or a bangle set can be a timeless gift. If you want to add a personal touch, consider getting a custom piece, like a bracelet engraved with her name or initials. Traditional jewelry, like kundan or polki, can also add a festive touch to her collection.
3. Personalized Gifts
Personalized gifts hold sentimental value and show that you've put thought into your choice. You could go for a custom-made photo frame with a picture of the family, or a personalized keepsake box where she can store her precious belongings. Another idea is a monogrammed item, like a silk scarf or a handkerchief, with her initials embroidered on it.
4. Puja Thali Set
Since Karwa Chauth revolves around religious rituals, a beautifully designed puja thali set would be a highly appreciated gift. You can choose a silver or brass thali adorned with traditional motifs. Some sets come with all the necessary items like a diya, roli holder, and a small kalash, making it both practical and aesthetically pleasing for the festival.
5. Spa and Skincare Hampers
Help your mother-in-law unwind and indulge in some self-care with a luxurious spa or skincare hamper. You can create a customized gift basket with her favorite beauty products—think herbal face masks, scented candles, essential oils, and soothing bath salts. A premium skincare set featuring ayurvedic or organic products can add a wellness touch to your gift.
6. Home Décor Items
If your mother-in-law loves decorating her home, consider gifting her a stylish and thoughtful home décor item. This could be anything from a handcrafted vase, a decorative wall clock, to an intricately designed showpiece. You could also explore traditional art forms, like Madhubani or Tanjore paintings, to give her something truly unique and cultural.
7. Cookware or Kitchen Appliances
For the mother-in-law who enjoys cooking, high-quality cookware or a useful kitchen gadget can be an ideal gift. You can go for a set of non-stick pans, a pressure cooker, or a stylish dinner set for her next family gathering. Alternatively, modern appliances like a food processor or an air fryer can add convenience to her daily cooking routine.
8. Sweets and Dry Fruits Hamper
Sweets are an integral part of any Indian festival, and Karwa Chauth is no exception. Gifting a box of traditional Indian sweets like kaju katli, laddoos, or a premium dry fruit assortment is a classic option. You can even opt for gourmet treats or a luxurious chocolate hamper if your mother-in-law enjoys experimenting with flavors.
9. Handbag or Clutch
A designer handbag or an elegant clutch can make a stylish and functional gift for your mother-in-law. Choose something that complements her taste, whether it’s a simple leather handbag for everyday use or a festive clutch for special occasions. Look for bags that blend style with practicality, ensuring she can use them for years to come.
10. Health and Wellness Subscription
For a thoughtful and long-term gift, consider signing your mother-in-law up for a health and wellness subscription. This could be a yoga class package, a gym membership, or even a subscription to a monthly wellness box. If she enjoys reading, a subscription to a health magazine or a monthly book club focused on wellness could be a great addition.
Final Thoughts
When choosing a Karwa Chauth gift for your mother-in-law, consider her personal preferences and interests. A thoughtful and meaningful gift will not only enhance the festive spirit but also deepen the bond between you and her. Whether it’s something

Advice for Preparing
I hope everyone is ok and safe out there.
And for future advice for any young adults newly out on their own, or folks who's parents didn't teach you, In light of the recent events in the Usa.
Im not trying to lecture, But so many people are rushing out to panic buy up items…
So I'm going to give my two cents, as to how you can avoid that. As well as options of what you can pick up when you can with monthly shopping here or there, without having to spend a thousand dollars on a stock pile all at once.
I know I'm going to sound old and weird, but I wanted to make this in hopes it could help.
When you go grocery shopping. Buy a extra of something. For instance a case of water, have one or two extra on hand, cycle them out in your monthly rotation.
by that I mean if you drink 2 packs a month. Buy 4, but then when you use up the 2 and you go shopping that month buy up 2 more, but put them under the old.
Other things to look for.
Shelf stable Foods: again only buy when you have the extra or space for it.
Instant soups.
Usually in the bean isle for a few dollars you can find Minestrone soup, or lentil soup bags that all you need to do is add water and your good.
In shopping isles with instant potatoes and gravy, you will also find pouch bags of instant potato soup. Usually cheap easy to grab an extra one or two when you can.
Rice
Dry or canned beans
Canned Raviolies, or soups, or meat. honestly anything canned, if its canned its ready to eat, might not be great to eat it cold but it can be done in a emergency.
boxes of Mac and cheese if you like them. Personally I like the Velveeta cases for this, as they come with a cheese pouch and you only need to boil water. Meal replacement shakes. These are great for in emergency situations. (bonus points in Pa, if they have a Nutrition label, Not a Supplement label, you can even get them on food stamps. Check with your own state for their regulations.)
Pop Tarts! - seriously these are what work for my house, you can get granola bars or whatever, but they are ready to eat no heating needed.
Lard - it dose not need refrigerated and lasts longer then Crisco. If you cant have pork, look into alternative oil/grease options. But a small tub can help if you are frying something, or even with lamps. Older folks I know use fowl oil for their old Oil lamps. One lady I know uses a mix of bees wax and lard.
Dry Nuts, Fruits, or jerky Now this is more of a luxury item even for me. But!! I some times find after holiday's a One pound bag of nuts on sale for less then a dollar if you check the right isles. These can keep for a while and are a good source of calories, oil, and the shells can be used for kindling.
Make sure over all you think on what sorts of foods you CAN and DO eat, if you keep a few extras of the listed above or of other long term items you like, it can help should say the roads close for a week or you had a rough time at work and its just not working. Supplies!
Most of these you can find cheap, dollar store, camping section in your local big store, or even just randomly through the year. Just try to have at least one of these on hand. And a few may be slightly more expensive, but over all if you slowly get these things it wont be as big of a bulk buy.
Flash light, Candles, Lamp, Oil lamp Nothing like wandering around in the dark especially late at night when you have to pee. Keep one or more of these near by. By that I mean in the same spot in reach of your bed, or kitchen. As you never plan for it to go dark at night. But it sucks trying to find one of these at night without light. Me personally, I have a small flashlight in the silver wear dwar, one by my bed, And oil lamps I use for decoration if I don't need them, through my home. Not everyone likes oil lamps, the newer ones for camping works just as well. They are what work for me, I have grown up in my grandmother's house with them, so its what I use. Use what you are comfortable or familiar with.
Matches, Batteries, propane canisters. If you have something that needs fuel to run it, or to light it, or to make it go. GET THAT! never hurts to have a extra pack of batteries anyway, most of the time we need them for remotes.
First aid kits! Yes you can go to Walmart and get the one they sell, but its mostly just bandages. That's fine, but add to it. Online they have refill packets for first aid kits that are cheaper then the whole of the original, you just need to get some tools like scissors or tweezers.
Medicines! Sadly USA lives in a situation where we cant stock pile our prescription pills. But! they do have online kits for in first aid kits, that have your aspirin, Tylenol, sinus meds, allergy pills. And all that for cheap as a bundle. Get these things before you get sick, and if you do get sick and need them, replace them when your better. Trust me, sick you will thank me even if there is no emergency cus you don't have to leave your comfy bed to get what you could have had already.
CHECK CAMPING ISLES!!!
You have no idea how much great things are there for some times cheap if you get them in off season.
things like a Sterno, which is a little oil candle you can use for collapsible stoves, you don't even need the stove to use. Just something that will hold the pot over the flame, like a good set of rocks and a rack. They are cheap and even at this time a 6 pack at my Walmart only costs $5. and if you can close the metal can when your done, carefully so not to burn yourself, you can snuff out the fire and re use it.
Or like a few flairs just to have encase you need to flag someone down. Now YES you could go out and get Mre's or military surplus and things. But not everyone can afford all those as they do run quite a bit higher then most of the things I said here. Oh! and if you live in a apartment, and are not sure about using Sturnos no worries. Grab a crappy little $10 to $20 grill, then if you have to. You can take it out into the parking lot with some sticks and twigs and use it to cook. if you manage to get some of these things. Most supplies should be able to fit into a single tote so that you can just keep them in the back of a closet out of the way, ready to use. (except the flashlights keep them around so your not going blind in the dark.) I hope this helps someone. And helps give ideas for others. This is by no means a Full or complete list, and its only meant to give ideas for what sorts of things to keep a few extra. I personally have figured out, ok I use 'X' thing, or run out of it 'X' amount of times. eventually I figured out how much of what I use in a month, and since I hate shopping, I managed to compile my own lists to help. So now I only go shopping once a month, and I will buy enough to last the month, and maybe a little extra. Its not for everyone but if you can, it can also help avoid this whole Panic purchasing mess. Good Luck out there and stay safe people.

Wine glasses, with their aesthetic appeal and utility, add a touch of luxury and sophistication, making them stand out from conventional gifts.
Choosing the Perfect Wine Glass Gift Set
Selecting the right wine glass gift set requires an understanding of the different types of wine glasses available and their specific uses. Wine glasses are designed to enhance the wine-drinking experience by emphasizing the unique characteristics of different wines.
Understanding Different Types of Wine Glasses
Wine glasses come in various shapes and sizes, each designed for a specific type of wine. For instance, red wine glasses typically have a larger bowl to allow the wine to breathe, while white wine glasses have a smaller bowl to maintain cooler temperatures. Knowing these distinctions can help in choosing the right set for gifting.
Material Matters: Glass vs. Crystal
The material of the wine glass plays a significant role in its quality and appeal. While glass is durable and practical, crystal wine glasses are often preferred for their clarity and elegance. Crystal glasses, with their ability to refract light, enhance the visual experience of wine drinking.
Elegant Designs to Impress
Wine glass gift sets are available in a plethora of designs, from classic to contemporary. Selecting a design that matches the recipient's taste and style adds a personal touch to the gift. Elegantly designed glasses with fine detailing can make a lasting impression.
Personalization: Adding a Personal Touch
Engraving and Customization Options
Personalization takes gifting to the next level. Engraving names, initials, or special messages on wine glasses transforms them into keepsakes. Customized wine glass sets reflect thoughtfulness, making the gift more meaningful and cherished.
Packaging: Presentation is Key
Creative and Luxurious Packaging Ideas
The presentation of the gift is as important as the gift itself. Wine glass gift sets, when packaged creatively and luxuriously, enhance the unboxing experience. Velvet-lined boxes, eco-friendly materials, and festive-themed packaging can elevate the gift's appeal.
Pairing Wine Glass Sets with Wine
Selecting the Right Wine for the Occasion
Complementing wine glass sets with a bottle of fine wine makes for a perfect Diwali gift. Selecting the right wine involves considering the recipient's preferences and the occasion. Popular choices include red wines like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and white wines like Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
Wine Pairing Tips for Diwali Festivities
Pairing wine with traditional Diwali foods can enhance the culinary experience. Rich, spicy dishes pair well with bold red wines, while lighter, milder foods complement white wines. Providing wine pairing tips with the gift set adds a thoughtful touch.
