Though I chose one that isn't very adventurous, I still like the mood of it.

Water cats Siltcloud and Twintail. Siltclouds name and vibe is pretty obvious, Twintail is based on long tail ducks!

Heronstep and Siltcloud. 

Siltcloud (they/them) is their clan's healer. They are reserved, serious, and matter of fact. They can be difficult to befriend but they do care deeply for their loved ones and clanmates. In particular, Heronstep. Heronstep (He/Him) is the kind of cat who can get overwhelmed in group conversation, and prefers one on one interaction. This can give some the impression that he wants to be left alone. They find that they quite enjoy each others presence. Heron's calm nature can take the edge off of Siltcloud's frustrations. Siltcloud is good at making Heronstep feel included and in touch. I don't think they've ever necessarily called each other "mates" out loud, but they are each others special someone, and they feel most content and understood with each other.
