#silly goofy bisexual nonsense

Can I request:
Percabeth fluff/Angst: College Au, Guitarist Percy, Cheerlead Captain Annabeth, Happy ending, Strangers to Lovers
Percy and Annabeth are strangers who suddenly met when they found their longtime partner cheating on them. Trying to heal, they seek each other for help, and during the time they spend together they start to gain feelings for each other and create a special bond.
(playing with canon ages a bit to make everyone within a year of each other. The dialogue for this one came a lot easier than the general setting. Jason and Nico are on their worst behavior, and Annabeth and Percy and 1) bisexual 2) doing their best. I don't think this was exactly what you imagined, but it's what I came up with)
The sorority party was definitely not Percy's scene. There was plenty of beer, but he didn't really like beer. He didn't really like drunk people either. And he really, really didn't like catching his boyfriend in bed with the school's football star.
He'd gone towards the bedroom when he'd heard a girl say, "Have you lost your mind?" Worried some frat bro was committing a crime. Instead, he found the cute blonde girl from his women, gender, and sexuality seminar trying to close the door on him. She was Jason Grace's girlfriend. He'd seen them around campus enough. Cheerleader and football player. Picture perfect.
Well, not so perfect anymore, Percy figured. Through the crack he saw Jason Grace buttoning his pants, sitting next to his boyfriend, who was looking oh so guilty.
"Nico?" He asked. The girl stopped trying to shut him out. She looked back at the bed, then to Percy, her eyes wide and apologetic. Percy just pulled the door the rest of the way shut and headed home.
~
Annabeth tapped her pen on the desk nervously, her eyes glancing to Percy every few minutes. Jason swore he didn't know that guy had a boyfriend, but she was still pissed at him anyway. She liked Percy. He was one of the few people in the class who actually tried to interpret the texts instead of just trauma dumping. And he had a little bisexual flag pinned to the denim jacket he wore everywhere. She wished she had that kind of courage. Annabeth could almost forgive him for nearly running her over on his longboard once, or for playing guitar on the quad.
She needed to talk to him, but she was struggling to find an opener. Hi, sorry our boyfriends hooked up, can you not tell anyone, just seemed like a lot to say to a person at 11:50 in the morning.
But the minutes ticked away, and soon she was running towards him down the hallway of the busted old humanities building.
"Percy!" She called. He looked back, and his sad green eyes said oh I remember you. "I need to talk to you. Privately."
"I'm sorry your boyfriend is --"
"Shut up," she whispered, her voice harsh and her eyes warning. Percy nodded, understanding and respecting Jason's privacy enough not to announce it to the whole hallway. "Please, can we just talk in my car?" She offered.
Percy stood up straighter, and adjusted the skateboard in his hands. She could tell he wanted nothing to do with her. She tried to look sad, like maybe they were actually partners in misery here, but from his disinterested look, she could tell she was failing.
"Sure," he said, "if you do a flip."
"What?"
"You're a cheerleader, right? I wanna see a flip." Annabeth scoffed at the request. But ...
He was heartbroken, she reminded herself as she lead him outside to the patch of grass outside Humanities Hall.
He was heartbroken, and she didn't like letting other people win. He didn't think she'd do it, so doing a flip was exactly what she'd do. She thanked herself for picking a looser pair of jeans this morning instead of a skirt, as she shoved her backpack at Percy.
"Hold this."
"Yes ma'am."
Annabeth took a brief running start before doing a round-off back handspring, and then, for good measure, another back handspring. She walked back to Percy. His eyes were wide, like he didn't expect her to actually do it.
"Damn, that was a lot of flips," he said, his mouth open.
"If I'm trading flips for conversations, I want to make sure I get my fill," she said, before leading her to her car.
~
"I noticed you don't seem that torn up about your boyfriend hooking up with another guy," Percy said as soon as the car doors closed. Annabeth just rested her head on the steering wheel as she turned on the engine, letting the AC blast.
"That's what I need to talk to you about," she said. "I need you to not tell anyone about what happened on Saturday."
"Or what, you'll lose your date to formal?" He asked.
"I'm serious!" She yelled at him. Percy leaned back, a little surprised. "How many gay football players can you name?"
"Not a fair question, I can hardly name any football players," he told her.
"Well, there aren't a lot. And on top of that, Jason's dad is ..." Percy started to feel a little guilty, but then he remembered why he was in Annabeth's car at all, and that feeling disappeared. "Look, I knew Jason was gay. This whole thing we have? Its for show. He's a good, good friend, and between cheer, and sorority stuff, and academics, I didn't have a dating life anyway. It works out for us."
Percy slumped back in the passenger seat. He wouldn't tell anyone, he decided. He might have hated Jason, but he wouldn't do that to someone.
"Alright," he said. "I'll keep it to myself. But for the record, you are way too pretty to be someones beard."
Annabeth flushed. "And you are way to pretty to get cheated on by Jack Skelington," she said. Percy actually laughed.
"It's just so weird. I mean, he pursued me for months, flirted, asked me out, everything. And then Saturday he just told me that I'm not his type?" Percy said. Annabeth was listening carefully to him, a hand over his, like he was one of her sorority sisters or something, but he didn't pull away from the contact. "It's just ... I mean, he was my first real boyfriend. Everything else had only ever been awkward, secret hook ups at band camp."
Annabeth nodded and pointed to herself. "Cheer camp," she said.
Percy leaned back. "You ...?"
"What, you don't think I could be bisexual too?" She asked, defensive.
"No, it's just that ... I didn't know."
She just shrugged. "I do a sport that requires a lot of close touching with other women. Some of them might get weird about it. And the frat guys would get a totally different kind of weird about it," she said.
Percy nodded, understanding.
"You know," he said, his brain cooking up a plan, "our gay boyfriends just cheated on us, and --"
"I didn't get cheated on," she clarified.
"Right, but my point is, we," he gestured between them, "have the chance to do the funniest thing possible."
"Which is?" She asked.
"Go out with each other. Let me buy you a coffee?" He offered.
Annabeth just smirked. "Do a flip," she said, her head nodding towards his long board in the back seat.
"What?" Percy asked.
"Do a whats-it-called? A kickflip. Do a kickflip, and I'll get coffee with you," she said.
"That's a longboard." He'd never tried to do a kickflip on his longboard before.
"So do a long kickflip," she said.
Percy grabbed his board and slid out of the car. Don't break your face, don't break your face, he thought to himself as he started to roll down the parking garage lane. He did his best, but when his feet landed back on the board, they slipped out from under him. He toppled forward, his hands breaking his fall, as his board shot out behind him.
"Percy!" Annabeth yelled, running over.
His feet had made it to the ground, landing him in an awkward downward dog position before he picked himself up, hand scraped but otherwise okay.
"Did that count?" He asked.
"Sure," Annabeth said. "Let's get a coffee."

" there is nothing you've got when you die that you keep. you were all that you were, were you all you could be ? "
BASIC INFORMATION:
character name: jessica "jess" turner
nickname(s): jess (also there's some fun wordplay in "jess turner" regarding clown physiology that i hope someone will get...)
face claim: margot robbie
mutation status: mutant (gen ii)
birthday: february 24th, 2141
sexuality: demi/bisexual
moral alignment: chaotic neutral
occupation: coal miner
work sector: sector 8
affiliation: nobody
3 positive traits: gregarious, passionate, imaginative
3 negative traits: nonsensical, unreliable, obsessive
biography (optional): link !
QUESTIONNAIRE:
how do they feel about living in sol city? have they always lived there or did they travel from another settlement? she's lived in sol city since she was ~8 and, while she preferred the previous settlement, she has no strong feelings regarding it. she's never thought too hard about leaving -- been too busy for that ! -- but she's also never thought 'wow, this place is so great, i couldn't want for anything else!'
do they trust the council’s leadership? why or why not? not really? i mean, they're in positions of power and power inherently corrupts (just ask the creator!). whether they were all mutants or all humans or all plankton, it'd be the same answer.
if they chose their sector and profession, why did they make that choice? if they didn’t, why not? were they happy with their assignment or not? she did not make the decision, but she doesn't... hate it? she's not thrilled -- the mines are boring and dangerous and physically taxing -- but she's got the creator and her silly goofy powers to keep her occupied. she's also, like... 90% sure she isn't gonna die in there... like, that's what the creator has implied... but the creator also pretended like she'd give her free-will if she murdered her parents, so she's gotta take everything the creator says with a grain of salt! that said, she hopes to become a stand-up comedian in sector 9 one day <3
what’s one object that they always keep on their person? honestly? with the power of miming and her little 'bag of fun' (a sort of pocket dimension), she doesn't need to worry about not having [xyz] at any given moment. for sake of character, though, we'll say a pack of hubba bubba gum.
(mutant only section)
what is your character’s ability (or abilities)? fun lord ( + clown physiology )
are they gen i or gen ii? gen ii
what can your character do? what are their strengths? she can manipulate anything IF. and only IF. it's fun -- either to herself or to some outside party. she has all aspects of cartoon physics and, much like ihsan grows stronger when there's fear, she grows stronger when there's laughter. she can manipulate the whole plot (think fleischer bros & looney tunes) to make it fun, but... that obviously won't be used for anything on a grand scale. she can manipulate logic to make it fun, she can induce fear and confusion, she can mime actions and make them actually happen, she can generate balloons and cards (both of which can be used as weapons, especially if the balloons are, ya know, actually bombs), she can make people laugh, etc etc. if it's fun, she can do it! she's also fully aware of the fourth wall and fully aware that she is a fictional creation, thus she's perfectly capable of breaking the fourth wall.
what can’t they do? what are their weaknesses? the real struggle bus came with fourth wall awareness. that damn near ruined her life ! outside of that, i'm definitely not saying she's mastered everything on the page -- i honestly don't even know how to explain half of them ! -- but she can do 'em, good for her ! that said, all the weaknesses that come with them ? like just being... odd to those around her ? obviously those are very present.
is there anything else you’d like to specify about them? 1) lil note on her physiology (copied and pasted from an intro i wrote once!): since margot’s played harley quinn in three different movies and, each time, she’s looked a little different: facial features like suicide squad (2016), always has those lil bedazzled eyebrows she wears in birds of prey, color scheme of the suicide squad (2021) ! ( that said, probs won’t be using many ss gifs because there was like… one pack still available ahdlsaifjsk so just <3 imagine <3 ) the one thing i would add that’s in none of the gifs is one iris being a shade of pink and the other being the regular blue. 2) she won't be breaking the fourth wall as much as the intro and this task might make it seem (it was just very important for the bio!), but! it will happen! and it will be silly goofy! 3) BACK IN MY DAY, superpower wikia actually had those as the titles for the pages... where did the fun of that go? there's no passion in "archetype: clown" or "fun reality manipulation"

why is the eleventh doctor your favorite? /gen
i was gonna try n be funny like "cos he's just like me fr" but anyways its a mix of reasons honestly!
a big one is i just have a lot of fond formative memories tied up with that era so there's a nostalgia element. especially because I feel that was the height of dw's popularity in recent memory so it was really fun to be a fan at that time, particularly around the 50th anniversary. idk if I've ever had more fun as a who fan than being a who fan between 2010-13. if you weren't a fan or involved with the fandom then, it's one of those things that's hard to explain because it really was event television.
and then there's um............[checks notes] i'm bisexual and matt smith, karen gillan, alex kingston, arthur darvil, jenna coleman, etc. they were all, you know, very beautiful and adorable and talented and sometimes right? sometimes............i just watch things with my coochie as much as my eyes. also, i now recognise that i had immense gender envy for the 11th doctor so there's that too.
there's obviously some bias in this next part but i genuinely think that matt smith's performance as eleven is insanely good. the way he totally embodied the "old man pretending to be young cos his body is young" complex sooooo well. like the way he could drop that silly goofy awkwardness facade and switch to just being an angry vengeful old man was really haunting honestly. i remember reading a quote from someone that was like, "matt smith plays the Doctor like a young man built by old men from half-forgotten memories" or something and it's so true.
he also just had really fun chemistry with literally every person/character (i BEG ppl to watch eleven’s guest appearence on sarah jane adventures because the way he interacts with sarah and jo is absolutely perfect!! i fucking CRY). obviously he’s from the only Doctor Actor™️ to do this well (Capaldi and Tennant also do this compellingly), but he made it very easy to believe that you were watching the Doctor, the same character that's been here the whole time, and not just a version or interpretation of the Doctor in the moment. a joy to watch as someone who grew up with classic who!!
and eleven is just..........kind, you know? like. yeah he got grumpy and genocided some bitches but that's just the gig being the doctor. eleven and his era was just so full of love and wasn't afraid of that and i loved it!! i love 12's era for this too ftr. like if I could travel with any of the current Doctors, I'd pick 11 or 12 because they're kind, not always nice, but kind!!
He’s a great Doctor, especially considering some of the nonsense material moffat wrote. the whole first half of season 7 and middle of season 6 has some of the most mediocre writing in the show’s history, but matt smith did an amazing job of making it fun and compelling anyway and idk if he always gets the credit he should for that.
I think it’s easier to be a great doctor when you have great material to work with (Eccleston and Tennant), or easy to just roll with whatever content you’re given because fuck it (Whittaker), but Capaldi and Smith did not have good shit to work with a lot of the time, and they put their whole hearts into being a great character anyway, even at the show’s lower points. i’ll always walk through fire for them both for doing that. but especially eleven, because that’s my blorbo, my manic pixie mass murderer 🥺🥰

The Most 80s Cartoon Theme Songs Ever: Guitars, Synth, Emotional Lead Singers, Robot Voices
Now, I know this is on my Transformers blog, and I already made a whole big post about the objectively best Transformers theme songs here.
But if you like the Transformers 80s rock/synth music, I have some classic 80s cartoon series songs that younger people out there might not even know about-- And they are absolutely the most radical 80s songs you will ever hear.
You will either love these, or you will laugh extremely hard. I don’t know how anyone under 30 years old might react to these, but I want Gen Z to experience some of the sick jams I grew up with, so here you go!
1) MASK Theme Song: If GI Joe and Transformers Were The Same Show
If you follow me for Transformers: This show is what would happen if a bunch of bots used their holoforms to do a GI Joe adventure while driving around in a bunch of weird Combiner alt-mode vehicles.
Check that out. It’s a 50s Cadillac painted like a flaming hot rod with triplicate tires and a rotating tank turret. Look at how much ass that kicks.
MASK was about being rad, using cars and trucks that had a bunch of really goofy nonsense like laser beam headlights to fight the Bad Guys, who were mostly B-list GI Joe villains. This show is fondly remembered because it was fun and silly with some pretty cool design ideas and toys, and that’s all it needed to be. MASK was pretty great!
Best Elements of the Song: The song opens with soft synth keyboard, then kicks off into guitar and a heavy synth robot voice accompanied by a super passionate dude absolutely invested in singing about “always riding hard on Venom’s trail” (you can decide if it’s gay or not, personally I remember fanfiction about this series that was actually pretty good), before an excellent guitar solo that melts into a synth duet and a last round of vocals to close out the track.
Worst Elements of the Song: The lyrics are horrendous. You will either love how much of a jam this is anyway, or you’ll laugh at it because it’s so cheesy. Either way, it is still actually a great track, so give it a listen if you’ve never heard it before!
2) Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors: You’ve Probably Never Heard of This Show Because it was Made by French Canadians
If you follow me for Transformers: This show is what happens when Whirl spikes all the drinks in Swerve’s and
There’s a space outlaws themed episode where the above character uses her bisexual mullet and shoulder pads made of steel to defend her title as the space pirate queen. Please watch this show.
This show has everything, from multiple characters with mullets, a character who is a cross between Han Solo and Bender from The Breakfast Club, a space wizard, a magical Captain Planet space magic ring, space pirates, space vehicles of all kinds, surprisingly solid animation, and overall a really fun vibe. The character designs are really interesting, and it’s a shame this show isn’t more widely known. The famous J M Straczynski (look up everything he’s worked on and have your mind blown) worked on this show as well!
Best Elements of the Song: The track opens with the opening narration from the show, and immediately kicks off: “There’s a power that comes from deep inside of you, every day you’re reachin’ towards the light! And you know there’s a long long way ahead of you, but when your wheels get you there-- Things will turn out right! ” Absolutely great vocals accompanied by synth beats and hair metal guitar which goes into a vocal chorus, ending with an emphasis on the solid vocals for impact.
Worst Elements of the Song: It’s hard to find a full length version of the track. The one I linked above is still the TV edit of the theme.
3) The Real Ghostbusters - Hometown Hero: I Really Miss Cartoons With Synth Music
Honestly, the whole album is worth a listen, this is 80s gold.
This show was one of the biggest hits of the 80s. I had an Egon Spengler blue Ghostbusting jumpsuit, and this is the show I remember most fondly.
You knew shit was real when you got the frontal proton-guns-out group pan shot.
Now, you might laugh, younger people, but The Real Ghostbusters actually had some of the best writing of any animated show at the time, and it still holds up today. (I recently re-watched it, and I was impressed at how good it still is.) It was unreal how great and how adult the first two seasons were, especially. Janine was the coolest, most stylish, fiercest lady in cartoons. (I had a crush on her for years as a kid.)
It’s also probably one of the few 80s cartoons that is entirely watchable in the current day. The dialogue is genuinely funny, and the show gets deeply emotional at times, in very effective and real-feeling ways. You will cry when things get serious. You get entirely invested in what’s going on, no matter how wild or bizarre. The creature designs were amazing, and the animation was solid. This show was above and beyond in terms of overall quality, and the music matches.
Best Elements of the Song: I do recommend you listen to the whole album, because each song is very distinct and extremely 80s. The one I linked above, Hometown Hero, was made for a specific episode in which Ray returns to his hometown to bust a ghost that a family friend has requested the Ghostbusters help out with. However, Ray is afraid that people will think his career is silly or that people might be disappointed in him not having a more traditional job, so he’s nervous. However, when they get there (after lots of encouragement from the rest of the team), they successfully deal with the situation, and Ray’s courage is back! Cue the music!
It’s a very uplifting song, and a pretty good episode, too. (There was lots of good episodes, but I recommend the first two seasons in their entirety. They’re all good episodes, no lie.)
Worst Elements of the Song: Unfortunately this track ends eventually, but there is an entire album for this series, including one of the best Halloween themed bops I’ve ever heard, which you can enjoy here.
This post is pretty long already, but if you want to hear more 80s cartoon jams, let me know and I’ll share the objectively best ones!

11:38 AM, Brooklyn Academy High cafeteria
Rosa sat at their lunch table, eating her sandwich. By their, she meant her the table that had belonged to her and her best friends since ninth grade. Her best friends being Jake Peralta, Amy Santiago, Charles Boyle, and of course, the one and only Gina Linetti. They were all so amazingly different yet fit together so well. Jake was the dark-haired, brown-eyed, absolutely hilarious (and absolutely childish at times) boy sitting at the top right of their table. He was a total idiot a lot of the time, but was amazing at solving puzzles and problems. He also had an intense love for Die Hard and drinks that were the colour blue. Amy, however, was the beautiful, smart and organized Cuban girl sitting across from Rosa. She was so put together all the time, but was also really goofy and cute when not under watch from everyone else. Her favourite things in the world were probably binders, essays, and her boyfriend, Jake. Charles was the brown-haired, clumsy, goofball who sat beside Amy. He was a total dork who was far too obsessed with his friends relationships, but was truly the most kind and caring person any of them have met in their entire life. He loved to cook too, and often brought some weird food that he made the night before for all of them to try (which often ended terribly, but they were thankful for the effort). And then there was Gina Linetti. Gina was gorgeous, with auburn hair and blue eyes, and she was a lot shorter than Rosa. She was silly and sarcastic and treated herself like she was the queen of the world (which she basically was in Rosa’s eyes). She also cared about her friends more than anything in the world (other than maybe her phone).
The group hadn’t always been as close as they were now though. Jake and Gina had been best friends probably since birth, because their families were super close. Charles and Jake became best friends in the third grade after being assigned desk partners and realizing they were an amazing team when it came to cheating on spelling tests. Amy had come along in seventh grade, when she moved to their area and became part of their class. Rosa joined the gang in the middle of grade eight, when she was new at their school and Gina was the only one who would actually come up to her despite her scary exterior. From then on, they had been a power team, and probably one of the closest, drama free friend groups in their entire high school. They supported each other through everything (even in tenth grade when Amy made the idiotic decision to date Teddy Wells, and to get over his enormous crush on her, Jake dated Sophia Perez. They realized it was stupid and started dating within a few months). It was nice to just have people who genuinely loved Rosa for who she was, even if that person was an angry, bisexual, all-black-wearing, eighteen year old girl.
It was in that moment when Rosa realized she had been spacing out for the past 45 seconds.
“Hello? I know my girlfriend is hot but there’s no need to stare,” Jake teases while throwing a french fry at Rosa’s head. She rolls her eyes and throws it back.
“Yeah, Rosa, I’m totally the one you should be staring at right now, I mean, look at me!” Gina joins in. At this one, unlike Jake’s teasing, Rosa feels her face heat up. If she had been consciously staring, it definitely would have been at Gina. Of course, she would never say that out loud. Nobody could ever know about her top-secret crush on the auburn haired dancer. Except unknown to Rosa, literally everyone knew except for Gina. Jake and Amy had placed a $20 bet on whether Rosa would ask her out by Valentine’s day. Jake thought Rosa totally would, because she’s been obsessed with her since like, eighth grade, but Amy thought that if Rosa still hasn’t made a move after four and a half years, what would all of a sudden compel her to do so? Charles would always ‘accidentally’ make situations where the two of them ended up alone, but instead of ending up with them confessing their undying love for each other and then promptly making out like everyone hoped it would, it would always end with Rosa stumbling over her words when Gina did or said something cute (re: every five seconds). Rosa thought she was an amazing secret keeper, but it turns out Gina was just oblivious to the rest of the world when she wasn’t being mentioned.
Before Rosa could answer, the bell rang. Everyone quickly got up to race to their next class. “Want me to walk you to class?” asked Gina.
“Gina, it’s English. We’re in the same class. We literally sit beside each other.” Rosa said.
“Fine! I guess I’ll walk alone!” Gina said dramatically. Rosa smiled a huge, dorky smile that she didn’t do for anyone other than Gina.
“I never said I wanted that,” Rosa laughed. Gina turned back to her, smiling her cute smile that Rosa saw in her dreams every night without fail.
“Proven again, Gina Linetti is absolutely irresistible to the ladies!”, Gina said far too loudly.
She isn’t wrong, though, Rosa thought.
2:34 PM, Brooklyn Academy High
The rest of the school day goes by quite uneventfully. Everyone is anticipating the end of the day, when casting in the spring musical comes out. Their schools musicals are written every year by an ex-student at their school, Terry Jeffords. They’ve always been love stories, and Jake and Amy have respectively played the lead male and female every year without fail. This year though, that won’t happen. Mainly because it’s a musical about homophobia, and if Jake and Amy were playing lesbians, the school would have a lot of issues to figure out. However, there is a specific someone who also auditioned for the girlfriend of the character Rosa auditioned for. Rosa auditioned to play Lola, the female lead, a lesbian who has recently come out at her Catholic school and is threatened with expulsion, and Gina auditioned for the role of June, Lola’s girlfriend who is yet to come out. However, Rosa doesn’t think she could ever get the part. Gina will almost 100% get June, but there was a bunch of girls going for the part of Lola. Not as many as there usually are for the lead role (most girls weren’t up to playing a lesbian), but still a fair amount.
When 2:40 finally comes, any drama kid races to the auditorium. They all sit in chairs, Rosa snagging a spot between Gina, who has decided to live stream the casting, and Amy, who is holding Jake’s hand tightly. They’re all on the edge of their seats waiting for Director Holt to come in and read the casting list. When he finally walks in at 2:46, the room goes silent.
“I know you’ve all been waiting for a week and a half since auditions, and I apologize for leaving you all to wonder. However, I now have the casting list, and I’m sure you would all like to hear it.” he says. Yes! Of course they want to hear it!
“I will be reading out the main cast. As you all know, any person not given a main role will be given a role as an extra,” Holt says. Rosa prays that isn’t referring to her. She’s never been an extra, but from the sounds of it, it absolutely sucks. “First off, playing the role of Madam Wringer, the headmistress, will be Sophia Perez,” he reads. First announcement is quite awkward, as this means Jake will most likely have his ex-girlfriend as his co-star.
“The role of Lola’s brother, Henry, will be played by Charles Boyle,”. Yay for Charles! It’s no surprise he got the role, he’s a great actor and is good for both dramatic scenes and comedic relief.
“The role of Lola’s father will be played by none other than Jake Peralta,” reads Director Holt. No surprise there, Jake got the leading male.
“Lola’s mother will be played by Amy Santiago.”. Amy and Jake look at each other with heart eyes. Of course they’re playing a married couple.
“Finally, we’re onto our two leading lady roles. June, the girlfriend will be played by Gina Linetti, and finally, Lola will be played by Rosa Diaz.”
Gina turns to Rosa with her phone. “Babe, we’re girlfriends!”. Rosa freezes for a second before smiling hugely. She tries not to make it obvious the effect that the little pet name has on her, and if Gina notices, she doesn’t say anything.
Rosa is also in shock because she got the female lead! She’s never been the lead, as Amy has always scored the role. Gina ends her live stream with a “Bye, losers!”, and turns back to the group. “I say this calls for celebratory pizza!”. The group cheers, and all feel even happier knowing that they get to go to Sal’s pizza afterwords.
“Our first read through will be tomorrow after school, and we will be rehearsing daily. I expect us to start blocking soon, so you all must practice as often as you can,” Holt says. “I expect no nonsense with this production. You are all experienced actors, and you all know how a play works. Read over your scripts tonight!”. Once they all have their scripts, everyone heads out the door.
“Rosa, how does it feel to get the privilege of playing the love interest of someone as wonderful as me? I’ve never had the experience, please describe in detail.” Gina says, smirking. Rosa shakes her head and smiles.
“It’s wonderful Gina, but I think with the amount of love you have for yourself you wouldn’t have to ask,” Rosa retorts.
“It’s called confidence, bitch! Look it up!” Gina jokes, hitting Rosa lightly on the back of her head.
“Ooh, two lovebirds having a quarrel! Who will win, or will it end in a kiss?” Charles says. The two of them roll their eyes.
“We aren’t lovebirds, Charles! We aren’t even likebirds! We’re just… friendbirds! That’s right, they’re a real thing! You’ve just never heard of them!” Rosa defends.
“Yeah, Charles! Also, Rosa, I truly care about you but if you call me a bird again, I will not hesitate to throw you in front of a bus. I’m clearly a wolf.” Gina says. Rosa rolls her eyes.
“Okay, stop flirting, I want pizza!” Jake complains. Amy lets out a breathy laugh while shaking her head.
“We aren’t flirting!”, Gina and Rosa say in unison.
8:19 PM, Rosa Diaz’s Bedroom
Rosa is looking over her script for the first time, while lying in bed. She’s changed out of her black jeans, navy blue t-shirt, and leather jacket, and now wears flannel pyjama pants and a black tank top. She’s about halfway through the script, when she sees a line that catches her eye.
LOLA AND JUNE SHARE A SOFT, LOVING KISS
Rosa re-reads the line about five times to see if it’s right. Lo and behold, the line remains the same. Rosa feels giddy with nerves. She’s going to kiss Gina Linetti. For a play, but that means nothing to her. She doesn’t care what she’s doing it for, as long as she is kissing that girl. Rosa giggles - actually giggles- at the thought. Just then, she gets a text from Jake.
Jake: haha looks like sum1’s wishes are coming tru ;)
Rosa: shut up, jake. i’m totally not into her that way.
(Rosa is definitely into her that way)
Jake: okayyyy sure. explain y u look at her the way u do.
Rosa: how do i look at her?
Jake: like ur in loveeeee
Rosa: ugh, i am NOT in love. she’s just hot, ok??? i'm not one of those lovey-dovey freaks like u and amy
Jake: that’s what i said before i dated amy but ok
Rosa: no, u literally said ‘i would marry amy santiago without hesitation, whether that’s at a huge mansion or in an actual dumpster’
Jake: welp, u got me there.
Rosa rolls her eyes and shuts her phone off. She doesn’t have to tell people about her personal feelings. Emotions were gross, in her opinion. Unless they were emotions about Gina, which were absolutely amazing. However, those were secret feelings. Nobody is supposed to know about that.
That night, Rosa has some very good dreams about Gina Linetti.
