You don't have to force yourself to bounce back so quickly. I read something recently that said "when you come in from a rainstorm, you don't expect yourself to be dry and warm right away", and it really resonated with me. It's okay to take time to dry off and warm up. Take the time you need to process what happened to you.

you know you're good at your job when every single person tells you "thank god you're back"
#knew i was good at my job bc i spend a 2+ hours a day on my phone and am 5 minutes late at least 3 times a week#and yet i'm the only summer employee who has been brought back 4 summers in a row#nobody cares bc i can get a full days worth of work done by 11am despite the fact that i work 8-4#sometimes i choose random new shit to do like organize the basement or pantry or whatever#sometimes i decide to go check out a new place to bring the kids for a field trip#which also means getting a coffee and hanging out in the park and gossiping with my fav coworker while we kill time#and quite frequently i just go on my phone and pretend to be working on smth when my boss walks in#im productive and super nice and even the parents like me so i can really do whatever i want#perks of working at the same hippie nonprofit since you were 16

Hey remember that a boycott if actually MORE effective under capitalism if you profess you would actually end the boycott under certain conditions.
“Nothing this company does can make up for their bad actions, I will never buy from them again!” Okay so they’ve lost you as a customer and have no reason to try and get you back. You can HOPE to drive them into bankruptcy but Chic-Fil-A is evidence of how well that works.
“This company did something bad. I would not consider buying their product again, UNLESS, they publicly apologized and made up for it by … [donating money to a cause, promoting different content, offering better care to their employees, etc.]” This is actually MORE likely to be effective because if enough people say this, the company m sees them as potential customers of a certain demographic, and is willing to make changes to get those customers back and, long term, make money from them.

idk thinking about how sometimes you have to show up for people you aren't that close to, because sometimes you're just the person who's there. sometimes you invite a new friend to a party and end up having to sit with them through a panic attack. sometimes you run into an acquaintance on their worst day and they need to talk about what happened. sometimes someone is crying in a stairwell and you're the only one around to ask if they're okay. and none of this is "trauma dumping" or whatever the fuck it's just being there for people because you're the one in the room with them.

Taissa Turner is such a special character to me because she’s simultaneously a girlboss and a girlfailure. Like she escaped the wilderness and grew up and went to college and law school and got married to a beautiful woman and had a son with her and got elected to the senate. She is by societal standards the most successful of the Yellowjackets. But also she fumbled her first love and then fumbled her wife who was dying in the hospital and fumbled her son and fumbled her dog who she had to sacrifice in her basement to win the election and fumbled her senate position she worked so hard to get. Like at this point fugue state Tai is the functional one because at least she knows how to get to ohio
