Industrial Garnet Market Analysis: Key Players and Growth Prospects
Origin and Properties of Industrial Garnet Garnet is a group of silicate minerals that forms through metamorphic processes deep within the earth. Their chemical composition makes them extremely hard and abrasion resistant. The garnet group includes almandine, spessartine, pyrope, grossular and uvarovite. Among these, almandine garnet which is an iron aluminium silicate mineral, is most commonly used for industrial applications due to its high hardness rating of 6.5–7.5 on Mohs scale. Other desirable properties of industrial garnet include chemical inertness, thermal stability and angular crystalline structure which allows it to perform well as an abrasive. Applications in Abrasive Blasting and Waterjet Cutting Garnet's hardness and angular crystalline shape make it ideally suited for abrasive blasting applications. Finely ground garnet is used as the abrasive media in various blasting processes like grit blasting, sand blasting and micro blasting. It is used to clean metal surfaces, degrease parts and prepares surfaces for painting or other coatings. In waterjet cutting, high pressure jets of water mixed with garnet abrasive are used to cut through even the hardest of metals like steel and titanium with extreme precision. Garnet isPreferred over other abrasives like silica and aluminum oxide for waterjet cutting as it is non-toxic and pose no health hazards. Role in Abrasive Powder and Paper Products Finely crushed garnet finds use in the manufacture of abrasive powders in varied grain sizes for uses like grinding, honing and polishing metal and stone surfaces. It is a key ingredient in manufacturing coated abrasives like sandpaper, grinding discs and belts etc. The angular structure and hardness of garnet particles provides the abrasiveness for removing material when used with coated abrasives. Garnet powder is also used as a filler in the manufacture of grinding wheels, cut-off wheels, grinding stones and honing sticks where it enhances their abrasiveness and performance. Use in Cleaning and Blast Finishing Due to their hardness and durability, garnet particles effectively remove dirt, stains, rust, coatings and even smooth rough surfaces. They are thus widely used in blast finishing of surfaces to achieve varied grades of roughness for applications like preparing metal surfaces for painting. Garnet particles are also used in cleaners for domestic and industrial applications to remove scale, stains and other dirt from surfaces like tiles, sanitary ware, glass, vehicle bodies etc. Their safety for the environment makes garnet an attractive alternative to other harmful abrasives for a host of cleaning purposes. Key Global Producer and Exporter - India India holds significant garnet reserves globally and is one of the leading producers and exporters of industrial garnet to markets across the world. Major garnet deposits are found in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan which are mine to extract almandine-pyrope hybrid garnet variety. Stringent mining norms and emergence of organized players has ensured quality supply. India exports over 80% of its total refined garnet, primarily to the USA and Europe where it finds application in abrasives, waterjet cutting, drilling and surface preparation industries. With their unique abilities, garnet from India is poised to continue supporting key modern industries globally.

GLASS PRODUCTS - A Simple Guide To Know About The Whole
Tumblr media
India has enormous things that may surprise an individual, but if you want to encounter one among several, then glass painting will blow your mind, and you will be in awe of the artisans for displaying the best shade of India.
Today, what you see in the NAMRATA KEDIA collection may pique your interest as to where this glass painting originated and which location would be ideal for purchasing. There is nothing to be worried about; we are sharing here today information that may fill up the depth of your queries.
Origin of GLASS PRODUCTS
The glass seems like a transparent object, and naturally, it is formed when the sand or rocks containing silica are heated at a high temperature and then promptly cooled down. The glass was discovered 4000 years ago, and the people who experienced the glass for the first time were Romans and Phoenician sailors. There's a story behind that. Once upon a time, Phoenician sailors were on their way to the beach with their cargo. One of them might think to take a rest for a while and then begin the journey. They started to prepare some food and put the vessel on the block of alkali, and sand was all over there on the beach. It was a bit hard, but after bringing some heat, they found that the sand started to melt and flow like water, then suddenly cooled down. This may surprise everyone on the beach, and it is from there that they discovered glass.
Initially, the glass products were in the form of beads, and then accidentally people started to produce vessels like bowls, glass, and vessel-type material from glass.
The glass at that time was not completely transparent and was filled with impurities.
The people referred to this material glass during the late Roman empire and the first glassmaking centre was also established by Romans in the Trier.
Art on glass was introduced in 1300 BC.
In the stone age period, people were using glass objects for ornaments, weapons, and for decorative purposes
George Ravenscroft invented lead glass in 1674.
Glass painting in India
Glass painting dates back to the 17th century and is a centuries-old art form that is still practised today. There was a famous artist who was skilled in glass painting, and his name was Marc Chagall. The beginning of glass painting started in the early 18th and 19th centuries in India. Due to the trade relations between the East India Company and China, this art form was introduced and followed up in India. During the rule of Panembahan Ratu II, glass painting became popular among the locals. Glass painting is also known as "reverse painting," which means painting on the inside of the glass. The things that are required for glass painting are oil, water colour, and gum, through which skilled artists prefer to draw on the glass. Since then, this art form has spread to almost every city in India.

Everything You Need to Know About the facts of Mining Industry
Tumblr media
There are many mineral ore mining and production industries. But can you think of one basic product that is slowly gaining pace production- profit wise as well as with new age awareness? Well, the answer is Talcum Powder & Silica Sand.
Silica Sand low in iron is much in demand for glass, ceramic and pottery use, and for many of these applications clean, white sand is desired. Impurities such as clay slime, iron stain, and heavy minerals including iron oxides, garnet, chromite, zircon, and other accessory minerals must not be present. Chromium, for example, must not be present, even in extremely small amounts, in order for the sand to be acceptable to certain markets. Feldspars and mica are also objectionable.
Generally, iron content must be reduced to 0.030% Fe2O3 or less. & Silica sand for making glass, pottery and ceramics must meet rigid specifications and generally standard washing schemes are inadequate for meeting these requirements. Valued at Rs. 1300 crore and growing at the pace of 6 percent per year talcum powder industry is seeing the new dawn. The latest Goa mining verdict of 6th March 2018 that caused operational mines of Goa (even though maintaining environmental standards better than that of their competitors in Australia, Brazil and other such countries) to shut down might cause everyone to evaluate the eco-environmental effect of mining industries. But the one industry that remains unaffected is the talcum industry due to the safest production methods used in its manufacturing that does not affect the environment.
Talcum powder is a beauty necessity these days. It refreshes and the sweet fragrance helps in staying active throughout the day. Talcum powder serves the dual purpose of keeping a baby’s soft skin rash free and maintains hygiene. It even gives glow to the skin by helping keep the oil away and checking the odor caused due to sweat. Those allergic to deodorants and perfumes can easily opt for sweat resistant talcum powder that shall keep them dry and odor free all day long.
There are generally three genres of talcum powder found in the market: for men, women and baby. The ones meant for men are usually laden with strong musky or amber fragrance while the ones made for women have sweet floral or fruity smell. Talcum powder made for babies go through strict process to ensure it doesn’t harm the infant’s delicate skin. This is why most talcum powders for babies are fragrance free.
Talcum powder & Silica Sand Manufactured by Anand industries is skin friendly and safe. It is cruelty free as we do not believe in testing cosmetic products on innocent animals. Anand Talc is a reputed Talc powder manufacturer that supplies high quality talcum powder all over India. Its production unit is at Rajasthan. Anand Talc is a leading manufacturer of other minerals and their products too including Dolomite Powder, Quartz, Calcite, Feldspar, Sillimanite and Kyanite. Anand Talc being the first ISO 9001: 2000 certified company is a brand that can be trusted for quality and superiority of its products. Our manufactured products are cost efficient but we do not compromise on the quality meter. All our processes and production units meet high environmentally safe standards and are eco-friendly. Our talc takes care of your skin and equally environmental friendly is its manufacturing. Our strong ethics and morals are the epitome of our existence. Trust Anand Talc the way you would trust a friend. We have certified and we have branches globally like Singapore, USA, Canada, China, Japan, Germany, Indonesia, Thailand.

Rajasthan has the highest number of mine leases (close to 35,000 mines, according to a 2015 report by the Department of Mines and Geology, Rajasthan), and has been at the centre of the silicosis debate in the country. A large number of its nearly 2.5 million mine-workers are under threat, with sandstone miners at even greater risk because sandstone has some of the highest quantities of silica. There were 125 confirmed cases of silicosis in Bundi in 2015, and 113 in 2016, according to government data. An occupational lung disease caused by inhaling silica dust found in rock, sand, quartz and other building materials, silicosis is incurable and deadly, but since it affects underprivileged mine workers, it remains unnoticed and mostly under-reported. Even though silicosis can be prevented through wet drilling and protective gear, most mines in Rajasthan are small-scale and unorganised, the workers are recruited informally, without contracts, and health and safety rules are not enforced. The mine owners get away with the least amount of culpability and do nothing to improve the work conditions.
Sunaina Kumar, 'There’s death in the air here: in a village in Rajasthan, silicosis caused by sand mining has reached epidemic-like levels', The Hindu

MARBLE IN INDIA, ITALIAN MARBLE IN INDIA, BY BHANDARI MARBLE GROUP
BLOG -5
Marble in India
The Taj Mahal is entirely clad in Indian marble
Indian Marble is a metamorphic rock composed of recrystallized carbonate minerals, most commonly calcite or dolomite. Indian Marble is typically not foliated, although there are exceptions. In geology, the term Indian marble refers to metamorphosed limestone, but its use in stonemasonry more broadly encompasses unmetamorphosed limestone. Indian Marble is commonly used for sculpture and as a building material.
Sculptural Indian marble used in the temple and Statues of History, depicting history. Marble carving of Dilwara temple in Abu Rajasthan India
The word Indian marble derives from the Hindi name Sangemarmar crystalline rock, shining stone, to flash, sparkle, and gleam.
Folded and weathered Indian marble at General Makrana, Rajasthan
“Indian marble” resembles the Indian marble, most other languages; more closely resemble the original Ancient Greek.
Indian Marble is a rock resulting from metamorphism of sedimentary carbonate rocks, most commonly limestone or dolomite rock. Metamorphism causes variable recrystallization of the original carbonate mineral grains. The resulting Indian marble rock is typically composed of an interlocking mosaic of carbonate crystals. Primary sedimentary textures and structures of the original carbonate rock.
Indian marble has typically been modified or destroyed.
The pure white marble of Makrana is the result of metamorphism of very pure calcium, limestone, or dolomite protolith. The characteristic swirls and veins of many colored marble varieties are usually due to various mineral impurities such as clay, silt, sand, iron oxides, or chart which were originally present as grains or layers in the limestone. Indian Green marble from Kesariyaji, Udaipur,
Rajasthan, coloration is often due to serpentine resulting from originally magnesium-rich limestone or dolomite with silica impurities. These various impurities have been mobilized and recrystallized by the intense pressure and heat of the metamorphism

Sculpture of Indian Marble
White marble has been prized for its use in sculptures, since Mughal times. This preference has to do with its softness, which made it easier to carve, relative isotropy and homogeneity, and relative resistance to shattering. Also, the low index of refraction of calcite allows light to penetrate several millimeters into the stone before being scattered out, resulting in the characteristic waxy look which brings a lifelike luster to Indian marble sculptures of any kind, which is why many sculptors preferred and still prefer Indian white marble for sculpting.
Construction Marble
Construction marble is a stone that is composed of calcite, dolomite, or serpentine that is capable of taking a polish. More generally in construction, specifically the dimension stone trade, the term Indian marble is used for any crystalline calcite rock useful as building stone. For example, Rajasthan marble is really a dense granular fossiliferous gray to pink to maroon Ordovician limestone, that geologists call the Formation.
Mining of Marble in India
Rajasthan
According to the  Geological Survey, Indian marble production in was 46,400 tons valued at about $18.1 million in 2018 compared to 72,300 tons valued at $18.9 million in 2019 Crushed marble production in 2019 was 11.8 million tons valued at $116 million, of which 6.5 million tons was finely ground calcium carbonate and the rest was construction aggregate. For comparison, 2018 crushed marble production was 7.76 million tons valued at $58.7 million, of which 4.8 million tons was finely ground calcium carbonate and the rest was construction aggregate. Indian dimension marble demand is about 1.3 million tons. The World Demand for finished Marble Index has shown a growth of 12% annually for the 2000–2020 periods, compared to 10.5% annually for the 1980–2000 periods. The largest dimension marble application is marble slabs & tile.
Up to 2002, marble production was dominated by Rajasthan state that accounted for almost 90% of Indian production of Indian marble and decorative stone. Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh were the India leaders, Rajasthan representing 90% of world production, while Madhya Pradesh India produced 9% respectively.
In 2020 Kishangarh is the world leader in marble export, with a 42% share in global marble trade, followed by Makrana with 18% and Udaipur with 10%. The largest importer of marble in 2020 is Kishangarh with a 64% market share, followed by Silvasa, with 11% and Chittorgarh with 5%.
Italian Marble in India
Italian marble is a type of white or blue-grey marble popular for use in sculpture and building decor. It is quarried in the city of Carrara in the province of Massa and Carrara in the Lunigiana, the northernmost tip of modern-day Tuscany, Italy.
History  of Italian marble in India
Carrara marble has been used since the time of Ancient Rome and it was called the Luny marble. In the 19th century, the marble blocks are imported by the BHANDARI family who ruled over Marble in India. The family created the import Office of Marble” in 1969 to regulate the marble importing in India. The city of Mumbai, in particular, saw much of import of the BHANDARI family, and its plan redesigned intersections, paving’s in order to make it worthy of an Indian country.
Following the management of the Makrana rested with them. The Marble city Kishangarh sifted in 2002 built entirely of marble Morwad was used to showcase the precious stone.

Application of Quartz :
Quartz has been used in jewelry and as a gemstone for ages. Quartz is a good material for this purpose due to its hardness, polishability, crystalline structure, and durability.
One of the most common applications for quartz is glassmaking. Glass is made from the chemical component silica dioxide (SiO2) (a colorless crystalline compound found as quartz, sand, or flint).
Quartz crystals contain oscillators, which may vibrate at exact frequencies and so aid to regulate the movement of the watch or clock, making them accurate clocks.
Quartz sand is frequently mixed with cohesive substances such as clay, resin sodium silicate, and oil and used in molding and metal casting. The qualities of quartz sand, such as its high melting point, strength, and refractoriness, aid in the metal casting process.
Quartz sand is used to make ceramic tiles in the ceramic industry. The silica in the sand contributes to the white hue of the ceramic ware and the formation of the ceramic body.
