I haven't mentioned this a lot but I loveeee reading, am on my 4th finished book this month

Soo I'm gonna talk a lil bit about the books I've read

Skin of a sinner : 10/10 I love this, Isa is my fav character followed by Rico, I love their dynamic and how he tries to annoy Mikey

Icebreaker: 8/10, Aaron is annoying me and I can't handle how easy Anastasia tried to forgive him. Nate "You're not even half my warmup weight" Hawkins is my fav book bf so far. Henry is the best character though, he deserves the world

Silent Vows: No words, just perfect. They're perfect for each other, can't wait to read the other books in the series

Pucking all the way: Short and sweet (well more spicy lol), the smut is perfect

arthur (prince of camelot) still has to study under a tutor bc yknow uther wants him to be very intelligent before becoming king or something bc its super important idk idc anyways merlin is doing chores in his chambers while arthur is squinting at a book and merlin eventually caves and asks him what he’s reading and arthur gruffly explains that its a collection of stories from greece that make absolutely no sense so merlin asks him to read them outloud to him. arthur of course teases him and calls him an idiot and asks how he could possibly help but does as he’s asked and reads the stories to merlin as he does his chores. merlin (being crushed under the weight of destiny and tormented by the prophecies that kilgharrah spews) understands the stories almost immediately and gets all excited and starts rambling about them with arthur. arthur is glad to have someone who understands so he can give something that reflects a hint of understanding to his tutor who accepts it and moves onto the next unit of education.

the thing is, arthur finds more stories in camelot’s library and brings them up to his room to read them aloud to merlin under the guise of completing his studies but really he just wants to watch as merlin’s eyes gleam when he understands whats happening and listen to him ramble on and on about them bc he’s gay. the stories stick with merlin though and he realizes that they’re cautionary tales, that the heroes who were told too much of their future doomed themself to fulfill them - that them fighting the prophecies led to their completion. merlin takes it to heart and gives a big “fuck you” to kilgharrah before forging his own fate and helping morgana with her magic and handing out an olive branch to mordred and now everyone can live happily and peacefully in an albion teeming with magic.

Book recommendations with 'Powerful Male Lead X sweet soft Female lead' dynamic

You know how some readers are into those Cold ML X Soft FML dark romance stories? Well, count me in! I have some recommendations for you. Please let me know if you have any recommendations as well.

Let's get into characters.

Male lead: I'm all about those tales where the guy's got this intense, possessive streak, loaded with cash and power. He's got this whole vibe, this aura that screams power. Everyone's shaking in their boots around him. But here's the twist: he's icy to everyone except for this one girl.

Female lead: She's the complete opposite—soft, sweet, not into playing the tough card. And you know what? I'm not into it when she tries those cringey, embarrassing stunts to outsmart him. No thanks. I'm more into the submissive kink, where she's polite but definitely not stupid. Smart, knows when to use her brain.

It's like this delicate balance between power and innocence, dominance and submission. Alright, for all my fellow readers of the "Cold Powerful Male Lead X Sweet Female Lead" trope:

When She Unravels by Gabrielle Sands (My favourite female lead. Mafia romances can feel repetitive/overdone. This felt fresh and different to me. The plot was interesting and I enjoyed Vale. She’s exactly how I like my fmc in a Mafia romance. Sure, she was a caged princess but she had a backbone and stood up for herself.)

btw i played the 17gb demo (never fully recovering from that file size), it was indika. and my god it wants to be a AAA game so bad and it absolutely does not work. i assume this is what god of war 2 is like, except it mentions puzzles pretty prominently on the steam page. so you'd think they'd let you solve them by yourself. follow for more steam next fest reviews 👍

The predecessor to the zipper was invented in the 1890s and the first recognizable zippers were invented in the 19-teens, first used on boots and other heavy-duty items.

Snap fasteners were first patented in 1885. Like, the buttons.

Hooks and eyes are old as balls. I mean it. There are records of them from the 1300s.

You may have noticed a pattern. You may have noticed, perhaps, the emphasis on fasteners. You may be wondering to yourself whether Pancake has A Point To Make.

And the answer is yes, and the point would be this: stop making your fantasy characters lace themselves into everything.

📚New Read : Silent Vows 📚

Book (1) of 2025

This book was very interesting I like how they took time to fall in love with each other. Both main characters had family issues and took their time opening up to each-other. Conner is my type of man 😂☝🏽 very grizzly bear “she’s mine and she needs to need me” . I also loved how he had his own family inner battles. A lot of times with mafia books it’s just about them saving their woman this book gave the characters more depth.

The spicy scenes in this book was very lame and too quick for me personally. He was firm but I wouldn’t particularly call him a “dom” like how i prefer but every book can’t be kinky (I guess 🙄) . There’s also a lot of inner monologue since the main female is mute for a time which got too descriptive and boring .

I enjoyed this read but I don’t have any desire to read the whole series or keep it on my kindle! First book of 2025 DONE <3333

I have a design for a character named Brother Cyrion the Silent. He's a transmasc dwarf monk who took a vow of silence (and jokingly a vow of chastity because he's ace) and he's basically a pile of cloth because he's got a really bad sun allergy and everyone thinks he's some scary broody monk but no he's literally sunshine just in full robes and face covering with a high fantasy white board to write out his thoughts. He 100% uses a straw to drink ale through his face covering and does the anime ducks his back to eat so you never see him.

There's tragedy about the vow of silence and the dampening spell he uses to silence his voice should he forget. The vow of chastity is just for laughs honestly, cracks him up that people think he's serious about it. His order thinks he's hilarious about that, THANKS BROTHER CYRION FOR BOOSTING THE RECRUITMENT NUMBERS.
