4:33 - 1952 - John Cage

Hier hoor je het 4:33 stuk van de Amerikaanse componist John Cage, een stuk waarin de muzikanten voor een aangegeven tijd niet doen. Ik vind dit eigenlijk nog een stap verder als minimalisme. Daarin laat je de kern zien of horen en in dit geval is er helemaal niks te horen. Maar het is wel zo dat je dus die 4 minuten luistert naar wat er dus niet gebeurt. Dit zorgt ervoor dat er een bijzonder stilte ontstaat. Dit zou je als dadaistische actie kunnen zien van de componist, maar ik vind het heel mooi dat hij zorgt voor rust en dat vind ik goed passen bij minimalisme. Door het gebruik van heel weinig noten, geen. Het gaat om bewustwording en het zelf invullen van de betekenis van het object of stuk.
