Read a bunch of Silco/Reader fics this past week, so I'm going to link my favs here for my fellow Silco enjoyers to enjoy
I can't believe I hadn't read AU fics before, I devoured two in the past three days. I am a sucker for Silco being unable to let anyone in and all the tension that brings. I love his canon characterization but I also really enjoy seeing how he's written by different people and how they make him human. It itches a part of my brain SO well.
And since I don't really strongly ship him with anyone, I've ended up reading a lot of Silco/Reader fics instead (oops)
1. Crawlin' Back to You by SorataTakano
One of the most exquisite and grounded slow burn fics I've ever read. You feel like you're literally in Zaun. This single handedly reignited my need to write again.
(200k+ words, still being updated )
2. ichthyological studies by beskars
Single Dad Silco enrolls Jinx in a local art class and ends up flirting with the art teacher. It's just fluffy and tooth rottingly sweet
Silco is an absolute sweetheart in this, and it is SO adorable. Like,, they go to see sharks in an aquarium together and shit. ADORABLE!! (Also, text convos between them)I have been kicking my legs and smiling reading this, also it's being updated quite quickly.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/62249971
3. As We Fall by @starryeyed-spacegirl
First Arcane AU fic I read and it pleasantly surprised me. It's got everything: powerful Modern Businessman Silco , Barista reader who works at The Last Drip, bonding with Jinx over horror movies etc etc
Sevika, Jinx, Ekko + more OCs that feel so natural. Good mix between serious plot and domesticity.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/40227708
4. a heavy kind of madness by summercourtship
Reader is a Piltie that ends up working for Silco and delivering messages for him. Fun to read about someone quite privileged encountering Zaun and meeting Silco.

some of my arcane headcanons i love
- jinx & viktor are siblings!!!
- viktor is amab until he fuses with the hexcore, & then his gender morphs into something more magical than human. s2 agender viktor my beloved 🫶🏼
- jayce has shaky hands post anomaly !!!
- ekko learned to play guitar to try and impress jinx and brings it everywhere with him trying to get her to ask if he plays, and when she finally asks, he goes "yeah uh i play a little haha" trying to be casual. & then he plays Wonderwall by oasis . or worse, hey there Delilah
- sevika cries in secret when jinx one year makes her a birthday cake. it tastes awful, but she eats it all anyway
- vander and silco hooked up when they were younger under the excuse of "just bros helping bros" and then they kept doing it. they don't label their relationship, but everyone knows they're definitely not just friends
- jayce knits himself & viktor matching sweaters. when viktor leaves in s2, jayce puts viktor's sweater over a pillow, and hugs it pretending viktor is still there with him

Kiss Me More. Pt 4:
silco x f!reader - 2.4k words - SFW
cw: fluff, angst, emotional hurt/comfort, break-ups, self-doubt, emotions, silco is a lovely boy
PART 1 | PART 2 | PART 3
-
Only a few days after Silco had crashed your date, Seven turns up at your work and invites you to a run-down café during your lunch break, where he rather efficiently ‘breaks up’ with you.
It’s quite a curt speech, all in all. Very straight to the point and surprisingly only includes one, extremely cliché, it's not you it’s me, that he doesn’t even really sound that sorry about.
You’re mostly too stunned by the sheer audacity to respond to a single word he says.
And then, to add insult to injury, the lunch ends quite abruptly with Seven pushing back his chair with a scrape and exiting the café (conveniently forgetting to pay for the large lunch and three drinks he’d greedily consumed whilst talking), where he promptly begins to flirt with a girl playing the guitar on the other side of the street.
You go back to work in a daze.
Truthfully, you’re a little bit relieved that it’s finally over and that you weren’t the one to have to do the ‘breaking up’ in the end.
But even though you never really liked him, and even though you think it won’t be enough if you never see his arrogant mug ever again, you still feel that inevitable ache of rejection. The kind which unfortunately hits you right in the middle of your afternoon shift at work, where you almost start blubbering on a customer who innocently asks if you have any vintage picnic baskets. (How could they be so insensitive, don’t they know you went on a picnic for your second date?!)
And after an agonising rest of the afternoon, hating everyone for carrying on as normal as if life isn’t just a cesspit of cruelty, you finally return home from work emotionally exhausted, and desperate to just crawl into bed and hide under the covers forever, until the end of time, please and thank you.
Except, fate must have it in for you because the very second you make it through the front door, Silco is waiting for you on the sofa.
He jumps to his feet the moment he sees you, looking strangely nervous as he shuffles from one foot to the other. You close the door behind you slowly, eyeing him up like he’s a rabid bunny about to chomp at your ankles.
It’s tempting to just make a run for it and never look back. But he’s clearly been waiting for you, made doubly obvious by the fact that Vander is watching from the kitchen doorway, leaning casually against the frame with his arms crossed.
Silco says your name cautiously, drawing your gaze back to him.
You blink at him slowly which he must take as his cue to start speaking.
"Hey, uh, look," he begins, fidgeting with the hem of his shirt, clearly struggling to make eye contact. "I just wanted to apologise for upsetting you the other day. And I didn't mean to imply that you would never be good enough for someone, of course I don't think that."
"The opposite really…" he then mumbles under his breath.
Vander clears his throat loudly and Silco darts a glance over his shoulder at him. From this angle, you can’t see the face Silco pulls but you can clearly see the pointed look Vander gives him in return.
Then, just as quickly, Silco swivels back round to face you before awkwardly adding, "And, uh, I'm sorry for crashing your date. It won't happen again. Promise."
If you weren’t feeling so despondent, you’d have laughed at the irony. No, Silco, you definitely won’t be crashing any more dates.
You take a deep breath, conscious of his poorly hidden apprehension while he waits for your response.
"Well, thanks for the apology, Silco, but it really doesn't matter anymore," you say, finding it difficult to inject any kind of warmth or enthusiasm into your timbre.
But instead of the look of relief you expected, you find yourself confused at the expression of absolute horror that suddenly paints itself across Silco’s face.
"What."
"He broke up with me," you clarify with a frown.
You’re certain that the carousel of emotions that play out across Silco’s face would be thoroughly entertaining at any other time. Starting with pure surprise, that then shifts to guilty relief, before landing on a look that can only be described as torn.
"Oh," he says, before his features finally, finally drop into concern. "Oh."
You’re not sure what prompts you to do it because it’s definitely not a conscious decision, but all of a sudden you find yourself walking silently to your bedroom like you’re stuck on tracks. You think Silco might call your name behind you, but you can’t respond, stuck in your own little bubble of despair.
And before you know it, you’re getting into bed and hugging a pillow to your body as you begin to cry.
It’s all a confusing mess of pressure that sits right in your chest; the disappointment, and sense of abandonment, and that awful, desperate hope for a new chance at what you’d hoped might eventually become love.
You have no idea how long you stay curled up in your bed, but at some point, the sobs  eventually recede into a quiet stream of tears, salting your cheeks.
In fact, you’re only brought back to the real world when a knock sounds on your bedroom door.
You ignore it, which only proves futile because a few seconds later the door pushes open anyway, revealing a fuzzy, tear-blurred Silco.
You watch him silently, blinking the tears out of your sore eyes. Normally, you’d be shouting at him for not respecting your boundaries, but just now, you have no energy to do anything but sniffle and stare.
"I brought you some tea," he announces, terribly, heart-breakingly soft.
Silco places the tray down on your bedside cabinet with a carefulness you rarely see from the lanky boy, much more accustomed to the rough, slightly clumsy way that he usually trips through life.
But when you finally get a glimpse of the tray, you find that he hasn’t just brought you tea, but also the small box of chocolates you’d spent months scrimping and saving for, just to give to him on his birthday.
Your heart pangs at the thoughtfulness and almost threatens to set you off crying again.
"Those are yours," you croak out, throat sore and just that little bit swollen.
His expression crumples into concern at the sound, but he manages to keep that soft, soothing timbre that’s held you together through countless bad nights at this point.
"You deserve them more than I do."
Your bottom lip juts out in protest against the tears that begin to flow again, entirely without your permission.
Silco carefully sits down on the edge of the mattress, reaching out with his thumb to gently brush the tears off your cheeks, one side then the other.
You look up at him and there’s a moment where you wish you could become stuck in time, stay in this bittersweet moment forever, just the two of you.
"I really am sorry," he murmurs.
"No, you're not," you mumble back, without heat.
You’re not angry. Gods, you’re far too tired to even think about being angry right now. If anything, you’re just being honest.
"Okay, well I'm not sorry that you're not seeing that scumbag anymore," he replies, and you can’t help but huff an amused breath through your nose at his candour. "But I am sorry for being an asshole,” he finishes.
Then, his tone drops right back into that gentleness as he wipes the tears from your face once more.
"And I'm sorry for making you cry.”
There’s a million things you could say to that, but none of them will really solve anything, so instead you just sniff once and shrug your shoulders the best you can whilst lying on your side, arms still wrapped tightly around your pillow.
Besides, it wouldn’t be very accurate to say that you’re crying because of anything Silco said, or even because of Seven.
If anything, if you really think about it, you’re mostly upset because you have a sneaking suspicion you’re in love with your best friend, and if that wasn’t confusing and overwhelming as it is, then you don’t even want to consider what would happen if he didn’t feel the same…
Oh, gods, what if he doesn’t feel the same?
Your expression crumples at the thought of Silco rejecting you, so you shove your face into your pillow as a fresh wave of sobs break through you.
At this, Silco makes an upset noise from above you, lifting the covers and shuffling to lie next to you in bed.
He wraps his arms around you, but with the pillow squishing between your bodies it just feels ridiculous, so you tug the pillow from your front and throw it over his shoulder, off the bed, closing the gap to hug him properly.
Silco’s arms engulf you like a lock fitting in a key, your face pressed into his sternum as your arms hug tight around his waist whilst he holds you to his body, one hand cradling the back of your head whilst the other strokes soothingly up and down your back.
"I'm sorry, sweetheart," he whispers into your hair. "I'm really sorry."
It takes a few more moments for you to stop sobbing, but you force yourself to push through it. You have to let him know that this isn’t what he thinks it is.
"It's fine, Silco," you say through gulps of air. "I… I didn't really like him anyway."
"You didn't?" he says, just a little bit too far on the side of hopeful as he delicately threads his fingers into your hair.
"No. He was a dick,” you say bluntly. "And he… sometimes made me feel kind of uncomfortable.”
Part of you feels a little bit foolish for allowing yourself to spend so much time with such an insipid person. But this was only your first foray into the world of dating. Who can blame you for hoping it would all get better with time?
Silco stiffens in your arms, pulling back just enough so that he can look you in the eye.
"He what?"
You're genuinely surprised at the venom in his tone.
"I'm going to fucking kill him," he seethes, fingers tightening ever-so-slightly until he’s gripping the back of your shirt in his fingers. "Did he hurt you?"
"No, no, nothing like that.” You’re quick to reassure him before he gets the wrong idea. "I just didn't really like it when he tried to kiss me or hold my hand. He was just a bit… I don’t know… gross?"
Silco calms down marginally, to your relief, but a layer of hurt still resides.
"I can still kill him," he offers darkly.
"Shut up, you idiot," you chide, but find yourself helpless to the smile that tugs at your lips.
You pull him back into a proper hug to hide it. Honestly, the last thing this ridiculous boy needs is to be encouraged.
It’s comfortably quiet for a few minutes, and Silco returns to gently carding his fingers through your hair. This is how everything should be. This is how it should feel.
"Do you think it was my fault?" you blurt out, entirely against your will.
"What? No. None of it was your fault," Silco insists. "He was the one who messed you about."
"No, not that, I mean…" you begin, trailing off until you can put it into words. "I just mean, it didn't feel like what I thought a relationship should feel like, you know?"
Silco shuffles back slightly, close enough that you’re still holding onto one another, but far enough so that he can lay his head on the one remaining pillow you’re currently sharing.
From here, you can see his emotion-tired expression, faces close like when you were little and Sil would climb into your bed after a particularly harrowing nightmare, telling you stories and nonsense ramblings until you eventually felt safe enough to go back to sleep.
Except now, there’s something more. Something charged, connecting you in a way that is much deeper and much more rousing than when you were children.
"How should it feel?" he asks, voice low.
"I don't know…" you say, considering. "I think… I think you should feel comfortable with your partner, and not nervous all the time."
He nods, ink hair slowly becoming messier against the pillow.
"Like you're at home with them," Silco adds.
"Yeah," you reply, surprised he understands you so well. "And you should want to be around them, not wishing they’d just leave you alone."
The little smile he gives spurs you on.
"And- and when you kiss, it should feel like nothing or no-one else in the world exists in that moment. Like the only thing that matters is you and them."
Silco carefully tucks a piece of hair behind your ear, the pads of his fingers trailing softly down your jaw, as he looks at you in a way no-one ever has before.
"And you didn't feel any of that with him?"
A brief pause, as you genuinely, truly contemplate it.
"No."
But I did with you.
"Well, then. He clearly didn't deserve you if he didn’t make you feel any of that," Silco decides, with an air of finality. Like he’s putting Seven to rest. Done and dusted.
“Yeah, I guess…” you say, cheeks burning a little pink at the compliment. It was probably unintentional, knowing Silco.
But then, he says your name, expression turned serious, almost startlingly so.
“Yeah?” you ask, slowly and nervously.
Silco’s mouth opens for a moment before it falls shut again and he draws you into his embrace once more, hiding his face against the side of your neck. His warm breath tickles your skin and you can’t help but feel that this hug means something, something more than the previous ones did.
You’re too scared of accidentally ruining the moment to ask.
The two of you lay in each other’s arms for a long while, long enough that you completely forget about the cup of tea steadily cooling on the bedside cabinet. Long enough that you slowly drift to sleep in his warmth, exhausted but for the first time in a long time, comfortable.
Maybe if you can find a way to stay like this forever, everything will turn out alright.

a/n: there’s no unrequited love in this house by the way, all will be well, reader’s just going through it a bit at the moment… and we would have gotten away with it if it weren’t for them meddling emotions!!!

“When’s he going to be here…?” You asked with a hushed voice, you were sitting behind the bar in The Last Drop, hidden.
You could barely make out the figure of Vander a few metres away from you, the lights were out to make sure that it would be the ultimate surprise for the love of your life. “Give them time, Felicia will get him here.”
“She better hurry, my fuckin’ arse hurts from this floor.” You complained with a groan, trying to shift your position to ease the ache.
Your comment only got a simple chuckle from Vander, you could’ve sworn you saw him shake his head slightly, but, again, it was too dark to see clearly.
You could hear the breath taken by Vander, indicating that he was going to speak again , but you swiftly shushed him as you heard faint and muffled voices from outside of The Last Drop. The two of you fell silent, listening out for the two voices, then as the door slowly creaked open.
"Why is it so dark in here?" Silco asked with a huff, you could hear as he struggled to hit the light switch, his hand hitting the wall loudly before actually being able to turn the lights on.
Once the lights flickered on across the room, and before Silco could clock the light decorations around the bar, you and Vander sprung up from your places behind the counter, both shouting a loud: "Surprise!"
"What is this?" Silco asked with a confused laugh, looking around the room. There wasn't much around, seeing as it was hard to come across such decorations down in the Undercity, but it was enough to show off the fact that it was meant to be a party.
You jumped over the counter and walked over to Silco, a smile spread across your face. You pulled him into a quick hug. "Happy birthday, my love."
"What..?" He muttered quietly, you spotted how his eyes narrowed just before you pulled him into a hug. However, despite the hint of confusion that lingered inside of him, he didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around you once he was pulled into said hug.
"You're birthday, Silco." The navy haired woman said with a chuckle, nudging the man's shoulder with a fisted hand. "Don't say you forgot."
He stayed silent, pulling away from your hug for a moment before he planted a soft kiss on the top of your head. His silence, of course, was all the three of you needed to know that he did, in fact forget.
The speechless man in front of you only caused your dear friend from behind the counter to burst out laughing. "And how have you managed that?"
"Well, in case you've forgotten," Silco sneered with a roll of his eyes, his gaze now focusing on the larger man a few feet away from the two of you, "I've been working on this Nation of Zaun plan."
"We all have." Vander reminded him, his arms leaning on your surface of the counter, placing his body weight on it at his kept eye contact with the slimmer man.
"Alright, boys." Felica rolled her eyes, moving past you and Silco to walk over to the bar. "We're not bickering today."
You huffed in amusement, taking Silcos's hand in yours before turning to follow Felicia's movements towards the stools and the bar. "More like they're not bickering today."
There were both tuts and/or sighs from both of the men, only causing you and Felicia to let out a chuckle afterwards. You sat up on one of the stalls, leaning your elbows on the surface of the counter, Felicia opting to simply lean her side against the counter instead of sitting down and Silco remained by your side instead of sitting down as well.
"Oh, c'mon, don't make those noises." You chuckled, nudging Silco and shooting a playful glance over to Vander. "The two of you fight like an old married couple."
Silco grimaced, not speaking up after that statement and opted to only shake his head in disagreement.
"Watch it, <<Reader>>, this is a glimpse into the bickering you'll get into with Silco here." Vander warned, a grin pulling on his lips as he pushed his weight off of the counter, moving away to grab something from under the bar.
You shrugged lightly with a gentle laugh, subconsciously glancing over to Silco, seeing his subtle grin at Vander's warning. "Shame."
Vander's eyes caught a glimpse of something that you managed to do before Silco arrived in The Last Drop, a new type of grin pulling on his lips. "So, you wanna do the... thing.. now or later?"
You perked up at the question, posture straightening as you looked back over to Vander. "Hm, we can do it now."
Vander motioned over with his hand to come back over to the other side of the bar, but was quick to let out an annoyed groan when he watched you jump over the counter instead of going round.
He shook his head. "I told you to stop doing that."
"C'mon." You chuckled out with a simply shrug of the shoulders, but once you were met with that glare coming his way, you put up a mock surrender with your hands up. "Alright, alright."
He muttered something under his breath, you couldn't make it out and you didn't care to linger on what could have been said. Once you noticed a certain something that you made under the counter with some of the bottles Vander had for the bar, you crouched down out of the eyesight of Silco and Felicia.
"What are you on the floor for?" Silco asked, trying to look over the counter to take a peak at what you were doing.
"Ah, ah!" Felicia quickly called out, racing to Silco and covering his eyes with a hand. "It's a surprise."
"Hey! Felicia!" Silco groaned in protest, attempting to move her hand with his own, but the navy haired woman only batted it away with a tut, a clear sign that he should just wait.
You couldn't help but laugh at the interaction, you couldn't exactly see what was going on, but, then again, you knew them well enough that you didn't have to see to know what was going on.
Your eyes darted around for a lighter, you checked your pockets but only hissed in frustration when you realised that you left it at home. "Oi, Vander, do you have lighter?"
"Don't you have one?" He questioned, looking down at you where you crouched down.
You scoffed and stared up at him for a moment, there was a split second of silence where you provided him a chance to take back the stupid question. "Does it look like I have one, you buffoon?"
"Hey, hey!" He said quickly, pointing a finger at you. "It was a question, there's no need for name calling, you hear?"
"Alright!" Felicia called with a huff, "<<Reader>>, I've already told these two bozos off for arguing, do I really need to tell you off too?"
You tutted with a roll of the eyes. "I'm not a child, Felicia. Hones-"
"Shut up, bloody hell." Vander scoffed, shaking his head slowly, having grabbed his lighter from his pocket and shoving it in your hands.
You took it with a grumble, "Honestly, was it that hard to just pass me a lighter, there you were making a big deal out of it."
"I was making a big deal?" Vander questioned with an annoyed laugh. "Fuckin' hell, <<Reader>>-"
"Enough with the arguing." Silco finally called out, his eyes still being covered by Felicia's hand. "You both end up making a small inconvenience an entire argument."
"Both of us?" You quickly said, shooting up to stand instead of crouch, staring directly at Silco, despite the fact that he couldn't actually see you. "What do you mea-"
"<<Reader>>." He warned, you could almost sense the glare he had behind Felicia's hand.
You were quick to deflate at that, moving down back to where the little surprise was hiding under the counter. "Yes, love."
There was a snigger heard from behind you, obviously being Vander, so your hand swiftly moving to hit his leg, only causing him to try and argue at it.
"Oi." Was all Felicia needed to say to shut him up, both herself and Silco having enough of the bickering between the two of you. You were almost as bad as Silco and Vander.
You soon lifted up this surprise once you had lit it, standing up carefully as to not drop it or knock the back of your head. You motioned for Felicia to uncover Silco's eyes.
Once her hand fell to her side, a grin as clear as day plastered across her face, Silco's eyes widened at the cake before his eyes. It was a rare delicacy down in the Undercity and, yet, somehow, his three friends were able to find one for him.
"What... How did-" He tried to say, glancing up at you, only being met with your giddy smile pulling at your lips.
You shrugged lightly. "The what and how doesn't matter, we got it for you and now it's in front of you."
You placed in on the counter without another word, the scrawny man opposite it at a loss of words.
"Go on, then." Felicia encouraged, patting Silco on the shoulder, "Blow the candles out."
His eyes glanced over at Felicia when she spoke, then down at the cake. How embarrassing, he thought, . Though, nevertheless, he leaned down and blew, causing the candles flickered out and the smoke cascaded upwards.
Yourself and Felicia clapped gently, you let out a quiet 'whoo', similar to how your friends and family used to do when you were young. While, Vander only let out a laugh at yours and Felicia's actions.
"One year older, how'd'ya feel?" Felicia asked with a chuckle, nudging him playfully with her elbow.
He only rolled his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest. "The same."
"Ugh." You groaned, rolling your eyes, your tone teasing. "So, you're not going to loosen up?"
"In your wildest dreams." He teased back, looking over at you with a grin.
∘₊✧───────────────── ✧₊∘
It was yet another late night, everyone was pretty much moving out of The 'new and improved' Last Drop, only leaving a few remaining staff, yourself and Jinx. Your eyes were heavy and were threatening to drop any moment now, but you had to stay awake.
You hadn't yet seen Jinx come back up to Silco's office, the blue haired girl had a 'surprise' for the man, alongside with the errand you got her to run, but her surprise could range from the simplest of things to the most dangerous of things. You could only hope and pray the young girl wouldn't bring some sort of bomb into his office for when he walked through.
Dear Janna, don't let it be a bomb of sorts.
Unlike what you did all those years ago, Silco's office was not covered in decorations for his special day. The only thing that remained the same was the cake, somehow you were always able to find the same cake each year. Well, it would be if Jinx hurried up and showed up with it.
The door creaked open and you were quick to swivel your body around to the noise, your initial thought having been that it was Silco.
"Aren't you jumpy?" A certain blue haired teenager asked you, a familiar grin pulling on her lips, a white box being held in both of her hands.
You rolled your eyes and shook your head, crossing your arms over your chest. "I thought you were your father."
She only shook her head, kicking the door behind her shut with her foot. "Nah, but he is on his way."
You ushered her over with your hand, moving out of the way so that she could place the cakebox on Silco's desk. You then went over to your bag, fishing out the candles that you had shoved in there.
"How much time do you recon we have before we comes up?" You asked, walking back over to the desk to stick the candles into the cake.
She shrugged her shoulders, moving over to the other side of the desk and slumping onto Silco's chair, causing it to slowly spin in a circle while she pulled her legs up to her chest. "I dunno, two, maybe three minutes?"
"Oh, that's fine then." You muttered softly, running a hand through your hair. "I thought you meant he was coming up."
"Well, he was heading in." She said, her head leaning on the back of the chair, your head shooting up to look up at her. "Relax, sheesh. He got stopped by some of his goons."
You let out a breath of relief, so she continued speaking. "Anyways, wanna see this thing I made?"
"Sure." You said softly, smiling up at her, before reaching for the lighter you left on the desk before Jinx walked in.
You were lucky that you had finished lighting the candles by the time Jinx whipped out her device, because you would have knocked something with the revelation. "Is that a bomb?!"
"What? No!" She then paused and looked at the metal in her hand, "Well..."
"By Janna's name, Jinx, I swear if you set that off in here when Silco comes i-"
She shrugged with an amused grin, "Too late."
You were about to question what she meant, you heard the door creak open this time, once more making your head swivel to where it was. Silco had an unexpecting expression, but his eyes were quick to widen when Jinx set of her device.
You flinched at the loud 'crack' that it made, not being able to help but duck down for cover, having been convinced it was an actual bomb. However, much to your relief, when you looked back up, there was only little pieces of cut up, colourful paper in the air.
"Surprise!" She yelled out, having jumped out of the chair with her usual dramatics.
You straightened your pose, clearing your throat as if you hadn't just crouched down for cover. "Happy birthday, dear."
There was a moment of silence where Silco looked around at the paper that now littered the floor of his office, then back to you and Jinx.
"What." Was all the man could manage out.
"You're birthday." The blue haired girl said with a chuckle, practically skipping over to Silco before leaning into his side with an arm around his shoulder. "Don't say you forgot."
Silco took a moment to respond, looking over at Jinx. "I've been busy."
"Always so busy." She said with a playful roll of her eyes, removing herself from Silco's side.
His eyes spotted the cake and the lit candles on his desk, a subtle, amused grin pulling at his lips. "So, we haven't moved on from this, <<Reader>>?" He wasn't a child, afterall.
"Of course." You said with a laugh, taking a step towards him to take his hand in yours, directing him over to it. "Come, blow out the candles, then."
Silco rolled his eyes, sighing, but he made no argument against it. No matter how many times he asked if you were going to keep this little, pointless tradition up, no matter how many times he implied that you didn't have to do it, you always got him a cake and candles to blow out.
He blew out the candles, causing you to give him a little clap, just as you would everytime before, and everytime in the future.
"One year older, how'd'ya feel?" Jinx asked with a chuckle, leaning against the desk to look over at Silco.
He only rolled his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest. "The same."
"So, you never did loosen up, eh?" You said with a chuckle, looking up at Silco with your arms crossed over your chest, your tone teasing.

They had to take Silco out of the picture. That man was way too smart for the narrative to contain him
It would've been too dangerous to send disillusioned demigod Viktor into the undercity and potentially having Silco radicalizing him
