I felt unhappy with the werewolf design I did for Silas, ik it's basically the canon design minus the tail but I felt unhappy with how it translated into my art

So, I got a tad bit inspired and decided to remake my favorite doodle of Silas to see if it looks better or not

I was debating with the hair styled fur design on his head but I'm def keeping the fur baby aspect of the design, plus the muzzle

For the majority of the last five years, Silas had done his best to completely avoid normal human beings. Enough poor experiences with them to make sure that he gave them a wide berth. He acted more like a scared animal than anything else — It was almost like how actual animals would avoid humans, as well. Only venturing closer when the animals were desperate enough for food or shelter.

And with how he looked for the majority of the time? Something twisted between a human and a bipedal wolf? Well. There was no doubt that people would either try to hurt him or simply run from him. Most of the time.

Maybe he had ventured a little bit too close to Sally's place. As much as he tried to avoid humans, his poor eye sight meant that he relied more on scavenging for food instead of hunting. What better place to scavenge for filling food than around where people lived? The wolf-boy was not above stealing food that was left unsupervised, even, if he was given the opportunity. Even if that decision had came back to bite him in the ass only a couple of nights later.

Part of him had to regret it in that moment. Tucked close to the corner of Sally's porch like a skittish cat that was trying to put as much space between the two of them as he could. Draped in an over-sized sweater that she had found for him, the words earned a small slow blink before head tilted. The words were clearly registered despite the lack of a response.

Another slow blink while his gaze remained unwavering. If not a little unnerving.

Canonically, I find it interesting how Travis says there's only been sightings of Silas' wolf form instead of attacks. Like, the implications of that are so interesting. Do you think there's rumors surrounding him like with Black Shuck and other black dogs in folklore?

oohohohooooo, i love that too! i hadn't thought of it in those terms before, but man, i bet there were plenty of weird sightings and rumors that started flying around once silas hightailed it into hiding - 'ware the white wolf and all that. (i have to admit i did have to look up black shuck, so i'm not as familiar with that mythos as i could be, but i lovelovelove the idea!!!)

Grayson nods. "We can get you blood from a werewolf. I already have blood of a witch and vampire running through my veins."

Silas nods approvingly, a wicked glint in his eyes. "Excellent. With your unique lineage providing the witch and vampire components, we're nearly set." He glances about the group, settling on Damon. "Damon, I presume you can handle securing the werewolf blood?"

"Yeah. I think wolf boy Tyler Lockwood can help." Damon grumbles with a frown. Silas smirks at Damon's response, clearly amused by his attitude. He nods, satisfied with the plan. "Good. Once we have all the necessary components, we'll begin the ritual. And with Grayson's... unique abilities, we'll have more than enough power to bring our little witch back."

Grayson nods and walks with Elena to the side. "Elena? I don't trust Silas. He's going to screw us over."Elena nods in agreement, her brow furrowed with worry as she watches Silas conversing with himself. She turns to Grayson, her voice low. "I know. But what choice do we have? We need to get Bonnie back, no matter the cost."

"Look, the moment something goes South, you take Jeremy, and you get out of town. You understand me?" Elena nods slowly. "I understand." Casually, Silas approaches the pair, having overheard enough of their conversation to know Grayson's protectiveness extends beyond just Elena. "Sweet of you to look out for sister dear Elena and baby brother Jeremy. But tell me..." Silas's voice carries a dangerous edge as he moves closer.

"What?" Grayson asked.

"What happens if I decide to double-cross you all? You seem to have a backup plan for Elena and Jeremy, but what about you, Grayson?" He chuckles darkly.

"If I die, then I'm taking you with me. You may look like Stefan, but you are not a good person." Grayson said.

A sharp, dangerous laugh escapes Silas's lips. "Ooh, how... predictable. The hybrid threatens the villain. I've heard it all before." He leans in closer, his voice dropping to a whisper."Tell me, Grayson... What exactly are you willing to sacrifice for your friends and family?"

The hybrid leans closer to Silas. "Everything." Silas holds Grayson's gaze, searching for any hint of deception. Finding none, he nods slowly, a grudging respect flickering in his ancient eyes. "Everything, hm? Now, that's what I call dedication." He straightens up, a smirk playing at the edges of his mouth.

Grayson nods. "How did you get like this? According to textbooks, you were supposed to marry Qetsiyah. What happened?" Silas's expression darkens briefly at the mention of Qetsiyah, a flash of annoyance crossing his features before he masks it with that familiar smirk, though it seems a bit forced this time. "Well, that's a story for another time, isn't it?"

"You're damn right it is."

Silas the Wolf Boy Close Ups

This spoils major endings be warned!

Close-ups of Silas after he has been killed or if he lives. One thing to note is his chest. Silas' chest is mangled and caved in both in wolf form and in human form. This isn't explored in the game and my thoughts are it may be from when Laura and Max hit him. However, it does bring up more questions about how werewolves heal. Chris knows he was shot so to some extent he could feel the pain the next day enough to know what happened. So maybe Silas also has damage done. The final thing to note is that Silas has hair--not a lot but he does have it.

Netflix is so funny. The streamer goes radio silence on their projects for years ::cough:: THE OLD GUARD sequel ::cough::, then turn around and say, "By the way: this and that drops tomorrow."

Or tonight in the case of the new SING short. Did you know there was going to be a SING short? Neither did I. But today Netflix announced that tonight at midnight, the Halloween themed SING short will debut.

What is is about? Well, just that. The gang decides to stage their version of Michael Jackson's music video "Thriiller"

Returning for the short is Matthew McConaughey as Buster Moon, Tori Kelly as Meena, Nick Kroll as Gunter, Scarlette Johannsson as Ash, Garth Jennings as Miss Crawly and Taron Egerton as Johnny.

To prove the global reach of "Thriller" Taika Watiti did a Haka inspired bent at the end of his film BOY.

Taron Egerton's not coming off of his IG hiatus for this, but perhaps he will in December when his Netflix thriller CARRY ON is finally released (on December 13th, to be exact.).

Maybe by December 13th they will release a better poster.

Holcroft's Lithuanian limited series A WOLF'S PALATE (which, to date is Lithuania's most expensive sereis) is one of the five series selected to screen at TV Beats Forum's inaugural screening day on November 20th.  The six-parter, A WOLF's PALATE is described as a psychological drama with supernatural elements.

Our other KINGSMAN alum, Colin Firth has been absent from screens for a moment, but he will soon be back with the Sky/Peacock five-part limted series, LOCKERBIE: A SEARCH FOR TRUTH.

LOCKERBIE: A SEARCH FOR TRUTH tells the real-life story of Dr. Jim Swire whose daughter was among the 259 people who lost their lives in the 1988 bombing of a PamAm flight over Lockerbie, Scotland (with an additional eleven who died on the ground due to the disintergrating plane). It will drop January 2nd in the UK and the US.

Like Mark Strong, Firth will set foot in the Sherlock Holmes universe. He has been cast in Guy Ritchie's upcoming YOUNG SHERLOCK series for Amazon Prime Video starring Heros Fiennes-Tiffins as the young detective, Fiennes-Tiffin's uncle Joseph Fiennes as his father Silas,

Thoughts: So, uh, I read a lot of books this month. I leaned into beating my total from last year since I was close and read a lot of short reads, graphic novels, and the children's books I was giving for gifts.

There were some good reads this month, including two new canine narrators that I adore: Fox 8 and Snuff from A Night in the Lonesome October (which really should be a big tumblr book as it has Jack the Ripper, Dracula, the Wolf Man, a witch, a clergyman, a druid, Victor Frankenstein, Sherlock Holmes, a Rasputin-coded mad monk, and occultists along with their familiars scheming over the fate of the world).
