Trifiesta 2024 Day 1: Summer/Winter

Seasons of Love

In the Kirishima-Yokozawa household, everyone loved Summer.

For Hiyori, it was the sun warming her skin, the many kinds of fruits that she and her onii-chan would bake into pies and cakes, the long bike rides with Yuki-chan, the beach trips, all the flowers and butterflies, the festivals, and the pretty clothes she could finally wear outside and that her dad complimented her on. For Zen, it was the picnics in the park, the ice creams, the sunset he admired when he went home late, Takafumi wearing t-shirts and shorts around the apartment, the sheets warmed up by the sunlight of the day, and of course, Hiyori’s birthday. For Takafumi, it was the fresh air of the evening, the shooting stars, the sunbathing sessions with Hiyori on the balcony, the laundry drying up within a few hours, the delicious smell from the street vendors’ carts, and Zen’s sleeping figure under the morning light.

For Sorata, it was sleeping sprawled on the floor in a beam of sunlight.

In the Kirishima-Yokozawa household, everyone loved Winter.

For Hiyori, it was the snow and the snowmen to build with it, the hot chocolate her onii-chan prepared for her everyday after school, the sledge races with her dad, the condensation on the windows, the Christmas shopping, and above all, Christmas itself, with all the food and presents to share with the people she loved the most.

For Zen, it was the footsteps he left in the snow, the ugly Christmas sweaters he wore just to embarrass his boyfriend, the good excuse the cold gave him to cling to said-boyfriend at night, his mother’s hot pot recipe, the snowballs battles with Hiyori, and the New Year’s party at Marukawa, during which he could contemplate Takafumi in formal attire, and get contemplated in return.

For Takafumi, it was the hot coffee in the morning, the beautiful snowfalls, the colorful lights in the streets, the movie nights when Hiyo, Zen and himself -and Sorata- cuddled up under a warm blanket on the couch, the calm and quiet once the sun was down, the fond smile Zen had as he watched Hiyori open her presents, and the joy of spending the holidays with his family. For Sorata, it was sleeping sprawled on Hiyori’s bed every night.

In the Kirishima-Yokozawa household, each season had its own perks, its own reasons to shine. But the most important one was the one they all had in common.

It was that Hiyori, Zen, Takafumi -and Sorata- got to spend them together.

thinking about how JR and SIH is a fantasy world thanks to there being a CANON novel about THE DAMN CAT SORATA and how he is completely intelligent and self-aware and even falls in love with hiyori ???????

You know how we get really cute moments of Hiyori or Yokozawa spending time with Sorata like cuddling or playing with him ect but what about Kirishima? Does he get his share of Sorata cuddles????

I ended up prioritizing Day 7′s piece so this one wasn’t so lively lol. I tried to imitate how she looked in the movie. They’re a cute duo that could probably team up and get Yokozawa to empty out his pockets if we’re being honest here. uvu

Help it’s 1 AM and I can’t stop thinking about the idea of Ritsu and Yokozawa slowing falling in love over the course of SIH.  I need to release my tension:

Ritsu’s apartment building stood silent as the growing stillness of the night became too unnerving to handle.  All the recent developments, stress, and of course him; the young editor could feel himself slowing starting to break apart.  He didn’t want to show it, no, he didn’t want anyone to get the satisfaction from seeing the leading heir of Onodera publishing loosing his mind over manga for young girls but right where he stood, in the dead-stillness of his empty apartment building, all he could do is collapse at his feet.

“Oi, what are you doing.” an unfriendly voice called out.

Something once empty was now filled with tension.

“Y-yokozawa-san, what are you doing here?” Ritsu asked timidly, unable to take his eyes off the sinking ground beneath him.

“Checking on Sorata, what the hell happened to you?” the man asked with little interest.

Onodera sighed before asking the man, defeated, “Do you ever have times when you feel like the whole world is watching you fail over every single minute detail, like your whole life had been just a circus act to show how pathetic a human being could get?”

“What the hell are you talking about?”

The former didn’t respond, unable to form a coherent answer.  What good could it do anyway, Yokozawa was just another one of his viewers anyway.

Takafumi sighed, confused at the unusually-apathetic state of the young editor.

“Listen, I don’t know what you’re going through but I’ve seen your results and I think you’re being too hard on yourself.” Yokozawa stated, slowly moving himself adjacent to the currently sinking-Onodera.

“Starting as a new editor is always going to be tough but you know what they say, life isn’t without its challenges.”

Ritsu slowly looked up, surprised at the attempts to cheer him up by the Bear of Marukawa.  

“Do you really think I’m doing okay?” Ritsu murmured.

“Jesus, don’t go fishing for compliments-” the older man had replied before being interrupted with Ritsu slowly leaning further and further into Yokozawa’s shoulder.

“H-hey, what are you doing monopolizing me?”

“Sorry, it’s been kind of a rough week and, this is nice.” Onodera replied, blushing slightly at the increased contact between the two men.

Unable to brush him aside, Yokozawa wrapped his other arm around the man who always seemed to brush his feelings aside but now seems more vulnerable than ever.  Almost like another man that he once had taken care of yet-no this was something entirely different, or at least that was what he wanted to believe.

A strange warm feeling seemed to envelop the two as the deafening silence of the apartment turned to that of comfort.

“Yokozawa-san?” 

“Yeah?”

Slowly, Ritsu raised his head up to face the man, allowing Takafumi to see the younger editor’s face in its entirety for the first time.  The last thing he had remembered was a gentle kiss being placed on his bottom lip and the slightest whisper of a thank you before the rest became history.

Junjou:  Usami- Bear and cub villagers. Teddy bear decor and patterns. 5 star island but doesn’t play as much after the first few months. [Maple*] Misaki- Has a house on Usagi’s island. Does the weeding and museum stuff. Gets on daily to talk to villagers so they don’t move. (Usagi will cry) [Teddy*] Hiroki- Played for a week but didn’t understand why he had to craft stuff. Kept comparing it to the first game. [Bruce] Nowaki- Tries to play a little everyday. Can’t find that last fossil, but has SO many hybrids. [Cyrano*] Miyagi- Only fishes, tf. Doesn’t even sell or display them. [Marshall*] Shinobu- 5 star island and has S tier villagers. Won’t sell Raymond tho because his smug personality reminds him of Miyagi. Time travels constantly. [Raymond*] Isaka- Wanted to play after seeing Usami’s island, but didn’t play long. [Kidd] Asahina- Stuck doing island chores for Isaka just like in real life. [Apollo]

Sekaiichi: Onodera- Brags about how awesome his island is but it’s still a 4 star. Hates time travelers and has mostly rabbit villagers and one frog. Participates in turnips bi-weekly. [Bonbon] Takano- His house is on Onodera’s island. Leaves him love letters on the bulletin. Accidentally made 3 million on turnips last week, oop. [Jeremiah] Kisa- Plays online with Yukina. Island is average but he does go to every K.K. Slider concert. Has mostly “attractive” villagers and is trying so hard to kick Barold off. [Audie] Yukina- Steals kisses with Kisa’s character and LOVES museum dates. Likes short, snooty villagers the most. [Blaire*] Chiaki- Only plays when Hatori is with him, but has a beautiful terraformed island with tons of sections. [Dom] Hatori- Chiaki puts him in charge of the mystery island tours when they do dreamie hunts. Got money rock island four times this week. [Melba] Yuu- Designs patterns. Neglects everything else. His boyfriend features every single one of his patterns humanly possible. [Lucky] Yokozawa- Has a mix of bear and cat villagers to satisfy husband and daughter. Gardens. Half the island is an orchard jfc. [Felicity (reminds him of Hiyo)] Kirishima- He enjoys crafting and leaving gifts for his loved ones in front of their homes to find the next day. Plays maybe twice a week. [Beardo*] Hiyori- Likes it, but would rather play Pokemon. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ [Punchy (reminds her of Sorata)]
