Siv: “Quiet Rage”- something that sounds like “Down” by Marian Hill, mixed with a little bit of hard rock and clashes with Loki’s.

Loki: “Desperate Trickster”- sharp jazz band notes with soft notes, made with an orchestra, at certain points and clashes with Siv’s music

Kari Brynhildr: “Hades”- quiet, steady beat that goes well with both Siv and Sigyn’s music

Back then, she had everything... but... such was not the case anymore... Did the goddess mean to mock her...?  “I... do not understand... why you would want to make me smile... ... ... Day 5 of Deity Devotion: Loki

A favorite myth or myths of this deity

I accidentally skipped this, so I’ll do it now. 

My general favourite would be the entirety of Lokasenna. All of Loki’s retorts, everyone else’s retorts against him, as well as the tragedy of the loss of his sons and Sigyn’s eventual burden. 

However, my absolute favourite would be his role in Volsunga. 

In Volsunga, Hoenr, Odin, and Loki take an otter and skin it, then present the skin to a dwarf named Hreiðmarr. Hreiðmarr became angry as it turns out the otter was his son transformed, Otr, and demanded compensation and ransom for his son’s deat. He asked for enough gold to fill the very skin the three had taken from his son. Loki was sent and he went to Ran to get her net, and he found a fish to catch, and said (translation by R.G. FInch):

What fish is this that swims in the flood, and from punishment knows no protection? Ransom your head out from Hel and of Linden find me flame. 

The fish said his name was Andvari, and Loki saw his gold and proceeded to rob him. Andvari would not let go of a ring and instead said to Loki that the ring,  Andvaranaut, will bring death and misery to anyone who comes by it. 

In my mind, I can hear Loki cackling, because isn’t that just hilarious?  Of course the ring is not for him. It’s for Hreiðmarr. 

And as I’m certain Loki’s cackling the entire way back, he of course gives all the gold and the ring to Hreiðmarr, who then goes sick with greed, is killed by his own kin, which Fafnir, his son, becomes a dragon, and his other son Regin fosters Sigurd, who eventually kills them both, and the ring is then passed on to Sigurd stealing it from Fafnir, given to Brynhildr as a proposal gift, which ruins their lives as they fall in love with others, Sigurd is killed, and Brynhildr throws herself into his funeral pyre. 

It’s such a small part in the entire story, but it’s my favourite myth that I think really captures the trickster aspect of Loki without outright saying so.

I’ll do the main couple of Siv and Kari Brynhildr, so...

1. Who is the most affectionate?

It’s a toss-up between them. Kari is used to showing more affection while Siv is extremely affection-starved. So, Kari starts it and at the end Siv is clinging.

2. Big spoon/Little spoon?

Kari’s the big spoon while Siv’s the little spoon.

29. one headcanon about this OTP that breaks your heart

Siv has concerns about Kari’s true affections towards her once he pacts with Sigyn. Sigyn and Loki were married and she has doubts whether Kari actually loves her. Or is this Sigyn’s own affections towards her husband clouding his mind?

Kari has a special little place in his mindscape dedicated to his family and Siv has a part in it.

Kari Brynhildr

1. He has issues with depression and smokes a medicinal herb to try and help.

2. His favorite Tumblr blogs are @halloweennut, @nobodyfamousposts,  @fishymom-art, and @radioactivepeasant.

3. If he lived on Earth, his college major would be 2D art.

4. Both Siv and Loki like him best at the moment, so he’s the one who has to hold Siv down when Loki possesses her and ends up not patching her up.

5. He has three bruises and a very messy scar on his arm from this.

6. He has an older brother and a twin sister. His younger sisters, Asta and Runa, are twins as well.

7. He’s an excellent archer.

8. He enjoys hiking, reading stories from Before, and cooking.

9. He’s trying to find more ‘websites’ from Before. So far he’s found Tumblr, Fanfiction/Fictionpress, Wattpad, and about 25 others.

10. His favorite muses to sketch are Sigyn, his twin, and Siv.
