...y'know, it's one of those things Cliffjumper tries not to think about, but Soundwave might just be the Decepticon he least has a problem with.

Starscream's the one who almost killed him and still loves to gloat about it, of course, while Megatron and Airachnid are obviously on his slag list for hurting Bee and Arcee. Breakdown doesn't quite earn the same fury with regards to his dynamic with Bulkhead, but the guy's still a traitor to the Autobots and that makes Cliff's protoform itch with anger, and Knockout he'd love to inflict some damage on for going after Jack and Sierra once with his saw blades.

Soundwave, despite being the eerie shadow looming over the edges of the War for as long as Cliffjumper can remember, just doesn't earn the same level of personal grudge as any of the other big name Cons on Earth.

Oh yeah, him, is probably the most thought the guy gets at any given point, unless something major is going down with Soundwave at the center, in which case Cliff upgrades to Oh Frag, HIM-!

The flash of Soundwaves visor was all the reminder he needed. Oh frag.

Soundwave could read thoughts.

He froze for a moment, optics wide. Without the mask, his almost terrified expression was entirely visible. Though when Soundwave didn't stop his touch, his expression softened to one of relief. His optics shifted up to Soundwave's visor, searching for any sign that this wasn't entirely unwanted.

Instead, he got an auditory response with his panel transforming back. His digits slid along the underside of his spike from base to tip, glancing down with dimmed optics. He traced along the red biolights that lined his length with a single digit before wrapping his fingers around him and stroking over his length a few times.

With a bit more bravery, he leaned in, nudging under the Decepticon Second in Command's chin and placing a few kisses over his neck cables. He tried to keep his mind as clear as possible, but found it a bit hard. Imagining himself straddled over his spike, sinking down on it with his servos splayed over Soundwave's chassis for support. The thought left his mind as quickly as it entered, reminding himself that Soundwave could hear every filthy thought that entered his processor.

Were it any other Decepticon, the medic would not have hesitated to start kneeing and slicing until he could get out and retreat from this unfortunate meeting inside the limited area of an Earth structure. However, Soundwave was an exception for two reasons: one, the spymaster had cables that would have given more than enough of an advantage at the moment, and two, Soundwave was the only one who did not frequently default to violence without an order or due to being provoked.

And frankly, Ratchet did not want to provoke him, even if it wounded his pride to be passive about being cornered. That does not mean he wouldn't fight if he detected hostility, despite his unfavorable odds, but it was certainly possible that would not be necessary. That possibility was worth trying to control his impulse to... oh what do humans call it... 'freak out.'

Optics squinted as he stared at the other's reflective visor, analyzing in silence, jaw clenched, and waited to see if he was in immediate danger.

Stahlklinge stood to the side of the training pit, watching as Steamtrack prepared for her upcoming tournament. She had gotten strong enough that he was sure she would survive one on her own, so instead of entering them as a team - much to the ring master's dismay - he had entered her solo. Now, all that was left to do was make sure she had the strength to survive.

As he stood there, he heard pede-steps approaching from his right. He called out to Steamtrack to continue until she either couldn't anymore or he called for her before turning to the mech approaching. A small, familiar smirk played on his derma as he extended a servo.

"Soundwave, it has been some time. Didn't expect to see you in Slaughter City - thought you had made your home in the Pits of Kaon?"

It's weird. In another life, I feel like we would've been good friends. We could have collaborated and created so many amazing things.

Additional thoughts:

Obviously, Autobot vs Decepticon, but I've said before and I'll say again Soundwave is just about the only member of Con high command that Cliff doesn't have personal beef with, either his own or on behalf of his teammates. So. If/when the War ends, I could absolutely see him going "welp. If nobody else is gonna talk to this guy..." and finding something to chat about. Or maybe just tossing datafiles of music from a safe distance.

7 Minutes in Heaven || 18. Throw up from nerves

So. It's him and Soundwave. Alone. In a very, very small room. For seven minutes. Easy. No problem. He can do this. He can totally be in a room with Soundwave alone for seven minutes. That's soooooo fine.

.............except it's not.

Before he can even try to stop himself, the situation just gets to him. It doesn't help that he'd recently recovered from a pretty nasty virus. Immediately, any energon in his tank comes up and out, burning his intake in the process.

Despite the sheer humiliation rooting him to the spot, he does try his best to keep any mess away from Soundwave.
