jupiter what is your favorite font i need to hear it. mine is oswald
oswald is a Fantastic font choice 10/10,,, hmmm ok. my fav font. hmmmm.
OK WAIT I GOT IT. atkinson hyperledgible!!!!
SO this font is absoooooolutely amazing!! i use it basically everywhere i can (docs, my blog, it's basically my go-to font lol). so like the name! it's an accessible font that's meant to be legible by basically everyone. and "atkinson" came from the founder of the braille institute himself, robert atkinson! there's so many subtle changes in atkinson hyperledgible but it still looks amazing:
so characters in fonts are Meant to be similar and uniform, right? that's what makes them look cohesive! take futura (which i absolutely love btw, no hate to it <3):
as much as i love this font, it's just not accessible yk? the b and 8 look similar, the capital I and lowercase L are basically the same with only a *bit* of height difference, and there's virtually no difference between c, o, p, q, b, & d at all! all they did was rotate one line around a circle. to be fair, futura was never meant to be a read as a text font at small sizes, but my point still stands: it's difficult to tell apart!
enter, atkinson hyperledgible. each chracter is different from the other in small ways that make a big difference. the serif on the lowercase I along with the distinctly rounded dot makes it stand out against the lowercase L, which also has a slight tail. the 8 is heavily pear shaped while the B is more even with less curves bumps. at small sizes or read by someone w/ impared vision, it's much easier to read.
and the best part? it looks good!! it's still cohesive and doesn't stand out too much, but it's still a bit fun and quirky yk?
i love this font sm. it blends two of my fav things: typography and accessibility. there's just so much abt it aaaaa <3 my personal fav chracters are the "0", with a backwards slash that makes it stand out from a capital "O", and the lowecase "G", with large counters and a diagonally terminated tail. it should look weird or off bc of how the proportions are so different, but they made it work! it's just so amazing :D
id for that last image under the cut!
[ID: A grapic titled, "Atkinson Hyperlegible". Small text underneath the name reads: "A bold proclamation of a name, sure, but that's why it's here." The body of text reads:
Atkinson Hyperlegible is a typeface created in partnership with Braille Institute. It has been developed specifically to increase legibility for readers with low vision, and to improve comprehension.
04 - Four fonts, including two weights, in both roman and oblique
992 - Nine hundred and ninety-two total glyphs across all fonts
248 - Two hundred and forty-eight glyphs per font
Åä - Adobe Latin 2 character map
Named for the founder of Braille Institute, Atkinson Hyperlegible is a traditional grotesque sans-serif at its core. It departs from tradition to incorporate unambiguous, distinctive elements-and at times unexpected forms-always with the goal to increase character recognition, and ultimately improve readability.
Braille Institute is a nonprofit organization that embraces the unique challenges of sight loss and low vision, and rejects perceived limitations. Atkinson Hyperlegible will be made available to all designers producing materials for people across the entire visual-ability spectrum.

Hi! I just wanted to say thank you for writing the 'How to Write a Blind or Visually Impared Person'. I myself am not Blind or Visually Impared and i am in the process of writing the basis for such a character and your guide really helps. (And will help as well as be shared to those I know whom also need to see this.) I do have one question though: What about writing people blind from birth?
So, with writing characters who are blind from birth, it’s important to remember that there are both real people who have been completely blind from birth and people who have been legally blind or VI from birth. So, with blindness from birth, it doesn’t necessarily have to be no sight at all. It’s also important to note how small a minority that is in the blind community.
Statistics
2.4% of Americans are living with visual disabilities. (Total (all ages): 7,675,600)
0.8% of school age Americans (ages 4-20) are living with a visual disability. ( Total: 706,400). This accounts for 9.2% of the entire blind community in the country.
90% of the entire blind community world wide has some remaining vision. People who are completely blind are a small minority.
Source: National Federation of the Blind
Molly Burke and her boyfriend Adrian (this post was written in 10/20/2020) are both people who have been legally blind from birth or a very young age (I can’t remember exactly when Adrian said he went blind, but it’s been his entire memorable life, though he still has remaining vision).
Most children are not diagnosed right away at birth. It heavily depends on the eye condition in question. Unless you had an easily observable symptom, such as nystagmus or pupils which don’t react to light or lazy eye, doctors and parents are unlikely to notice right away.
Most blind children don’t realize they’re blind until they’re a bit older and have developed enough communication skills to recognize that the visual experiences their family describes don’t match their visual experiences. Slowly small moments and situations begin to pop up where you realize there’s something everyone else seems able to do easily that you’re struggling with.
Particularly severe vision issues will be noticed by parents sooner than more subtle ones. The more usable sight a child has and the fewer visually observable symptoms they have, the longer they’re going to fly under the radar until the adults in their life realize something is different. Even then, it might not be until the child is able to communicate an inability to see what they’re describing that parents might realize something is wrong.
More severe vision issues will be picked up sooner. Parents realizing their children doesn’t respond to peek-a-boo or their eyes don’t follow moving items but sound will get their attention.
At this point in life, the economic situation of the child’s family will have a huge impact on how they grow up.
Families living below the poverty line or living in countries (America) where health care is expensive and treated as a privilege rather than a necessity and human right, or simply isn’t available at all, will have a much harder time getting their child diagnosed or treated.
Those families likely won’t have the education or knowledge needed to realize what is wrong and how they can help their child. Like health care, knowledge/education is treated like a privilege instead of a necessity and human right.
The education their children have access to will likely be lacking as well. Poorer communities have less funding for their students than wealthy communities. Those schools will have an even more restricted budget for accessible education, meaning they might not be able to pay the wages of a teacher’s aide to work one-on-one with that child in class, or have access to magnifiers and braille books/typewriters/education. Even though by legal law they must provide accommodations for disabled students, it doesn’t mean they will, and a financially disadvantaged family won’t have the resources to fight the school for their child’s rights (or even be aware of their child’s rights in the first place).
Children from middle class or wealthy families will (like all children in their community) have a huge advantage over their peers who attend schools with fewer resources. However, those blind children still have a disadvantage with their own peers.
Again, a school might refuse accommodations because administration can be jerks like that. It happens all the time. Parents may have to fight for their child’s rights to equal education through an aide, accessible school materials, and blind-friendly education.
Molly Burke made a video recently talking about her experiences with education as a blind child.
Learning Braille is a huge step in helping blind children, but it’s becoming less popular as audiobooks become more available. Audiobooks are amazing, and that method of reading is just as valid as any other, however a child reading solely with audiobooks will lose the literacy benefits. Like any writing system, Braille teaches spelling and grammatical rules necessary for educational and professional writing. While Braille is a writing system unique to itself, it still lives within the confines of whatever the native speaking language of the child is. Braille in English still uses the same spelling and grammatical function English uses. Braille in Spanish still bends to the rules of Spanish.
This is very different from different sign languages which can have grammar and syntax rules that completely differ from the native language of that country. Which is why you have languages called American Sign Language and British Sign Language and Canadian Sign Language that are using in English speaking countries but function very differently from both English and their fellow Sign counterparts. I’ve heard it said that ASL is more similar to the grammar structure of Chinese than it is to English, which gives the Deaf community a literacy disadvantage of their own when their native language and their reading/writing language are completely different languages.
Though there is a secondary system of Braille which uses shortened abbreviations. That is Grade 2 Braille, and it is learned after Grade 1.
This is Molly Burke’s video on Braille, which includes the history of Braille, how she personally learned it in school, and showing what a Braille Typewriter is and how it is used.
I highly recommend it because Braille is something I only know from research and theory, not from personal experience.
Children who don’t learn Braille are statistically less likely to receive higher education and more likely to live below the poverty line.
Though blind adults are at a huge disadvantage in the work force with 80% of blind adults being unemployed but not by choice. Even though they have the same qualifications as other applicants, employers will almost always choose a sighted applicant over them, even if the sighted applicant is less qualified.
As adults, people who were born blind are just as affected by their upbringing, education, and family life as sighted adults are. The first eighteen years of their life shaped who they are as a person, so like any other character, you must consider what your character’s childhood must have been like for them to become the person they are now.
Once they reach adulthood, there isn’t much difference between people who were born blind or became blind early in life, compared to people who went blind as adults. But there are a few:
- Adults who were blind or became blind during their education are more likely to learn Braille than adults who went blind later in life.
-They are more likely to have O&M training. Though, only 10% of the blind community has a cane or guide dog, while the rest rely on remaining vision and sighted guides.
-O&M abilities (beyond mobility guides, there’s also learning how to use your remaining vision, your hearing and touch, and other senses to navigate without a cane/guide dog) are generally much better the longer you’ve been blind.
-Adults who have been living with blindness all their lives are more likely to be comfortable with their disability than newly blind adults, but that is not necessarily a rule. There is more confidence in living x-many years blind and knowing how to live your regular life without new major adjustments.
-The fewer memories a person has of vision, the fewer visual things they are likely to miss. You can’t miss something you’ve never experienced or don’t remember. Doesn’t mean someone won’t wish they knew what stars and fireworks and the ocean looks like, but it won’t be as big a focus as it is for someone who went blind recently.
-People dream with whatever experiences they are living with now, meaning blind people dream with whatever their current vision is. Someone who has never seen or no longer retains any memories of sight will not have dreams with visuals.
(Note, memories of sight are something that fades with time, no matter when you went blind in life. After about 7 years of not seeing a particular image, you’re likely to have forgotten what that thing actually looked like, including color and other general vision things)
That is what I have for you. I’m going to link this to my masterpost so that it’s easily accessible for everyone and if you want to come back to it, you will be able to easily find it.

A TINY RODENT ROSETTE
BELOW: A SHORT CYBERPUNK META, SPOILERS FOR “THE DEVIL” ENDING
If you’re familiar with “The Devil” variant of the ending, you probably know about the “pupil dilation” test, that’s supposed to measure V’s empathy and control if their personality isn’t damaged due to the relic removal process.
At first I thought that this is just an elaborate “Blade runner” reference, since this universe uses a similar test that measures pupil dilation in response to a person telling the subject about a violent situation. The similarities are here, of course, the tests work in almost the same way even if they’re used for different things (in “cyberpunk” its both as a measure of checking the subject’s empathy level and personality, while in “Blade Runner” it’s about checking who’s a human and who’s an android), but I know that writers in CDProjekt are a bit more competent than just putting a reference without giving something from themselves.
The story that’s repeated to V is the same every time: they’re walking through a field, and they’re incredibly thirsty, with no water in sight. They come across a nest of field mice, a mother and a litter of pups. The mother is dead, as she was cut in two by a harvester that drove through the field, catching her in its blades. V is then told that their mouth begins to water at the sight, to what they can only respond with disgust, asking about what is wrong with them, or with confusion, unsure about why the doctor is telling them this. The doctor then says that the sun above is covered behind a raincloud, the first one in the year.
This seems like the kind of thing a writer would create on purpose, like something that has symbolic/metaphorical meaning to overall themes or characters. I started to think about, and here are my thoughts:
The mother fieldmouse is likely V and Johnny, due to the image of a living being violently split in two by an outside, industrial force. As far as I know, the way V and Johnny get untangled in “The Devil” ending is the most forceful of all possible options. From what I understand, “Path of glory” and “The Star” endings involve Johnny being kinda wiped from the engram, but the biochip as a physical object still stays embedded in V’s head, it’s just inactive, leaving V’s brain damaged on a neural level, but intact. “The Devil” solution seems more like a surgery, with the biochip literally cut out along with a chunk of V’s brain, essentially giving them a lobotomy.
They also part in different way: In “Path Of Glory”/”The Star”, V and Johnny say their goodbyes as friends. In “The Devil”, Johnny is much more hostile and angry.
V also feels much worse after the surgery than in any other ending: their vision is messed up (explained in-lore by the doctors saying that they had to give them more neurons that haven’t taken in well yet), and they comment that they feel empty and confused. Their cognition is also damaged, since they’re unable to solve the rubik’s cube, no matter how many times they try. No other ending shows or even hints towards V’s imparement to this degree.
I think that V’s condition is supposed to parelell one of the themes of the game: selling your own being and essence to the corporations will make you feel like you’re empty and hollow. V loses a part of their identity (they’re not sure if they’re still “V” when they wake up), they lose a part of their brain, that gets filled by Arasaka tech instead (if V calls romanced Kerry, he will say that “(Arasaka) filled his head with cables and shit”) and they are literally violently torn away from Johnny, who, no matter if they like it or not, also became a part of their identity.
It’s interesting that the thing that splits the mouse in half in the doctor’s story is an industrial machine. Combines are well known for plowing through the fields indiscrimenatly, often killing small animals like mice or baby birds. It’s a powerful and dangerous man-made machine, which with many animals simply don’t have a chance. Seeing it as a metaphor for Arasaka, which plowed through Night City, and killing many, many people, either by direct assasinations or things like pollution, services that people can’t afford but are necessary to live or poverty they’ve caused, is only natural.
I’m not quite sure what the baby mice are supposed to represent. My immidiate thought was that they were supposed to be Johnny’s and V’s friends, though I don’t have much to back it up, so this part is left for interpretation. Newborn mice are blind and defenceless, relying on their mother for food, warmth, and protection. Maybe it’s supposed to show that V’s friends rely on them, and by going onto the space station they left them alone and vulnerable? V’s friends are capable, so the metaphor isn’t literal (V doesn’t LITERALLY have to feed them or else they’ll starve), it’s supposed to more represent the support and presence V provided, that allowed them to grow and change for the better. V being an important part of their friends’ lives is emphasized in all endings, with the calls you get from them at the end.
The phrase “tiny rodent rosette” really stuck with me. It seems very specific, not like a random sentence made to show someone’s eloquence. The rosette pattern is one that is made of repeating parts, which might tie into this game’s major theme of cycles and repetitions. Another would be that a rosette is something you can win in contests, aka a prize. The dead mouse surrounded by her orphaned young can be considered a messed up “prize” for V, in a “look how much you’ve fucked up, congrats” kind of way.
A prominent theme in the story is the thirst the protagonist/V feels. In the story, it’s literal: we get multiple descriptions of heat and the sun blaring down from the sky. In V’s case, it represents their desire to get the biochip out, and not be connected to Johnny anymore. The raincloud represents relief: for the story’s protagonist, from literal thirst, and in V’s case, from the guilt they feel over their decision to go with Hanako’s plan.
CONCLUSION:
The story told by the doctor parellels V’s journey up to this point and their feelings about betraying Johnny.
V thirsts the entire game to be separated from Johnny. They decide to take the Arasaka option, where they perform a surgery on them, leaving them feeling empty and “split in two”, like the mother mouse in the story, cut in half by the combine. Their state leaves them unable to help their friends and “nurture” the bonds with them, just like the mother mouse is unable to provide for her pups. The protagonist’s mouth begins to water at the sight of the destroyed nest, which will either disgust or confuse V, because they realise that their decision wasn’t worth it. They snap out of their desire to be split with Johnny by whatever means necessary, but it’s too late. The rain then washes over the protagonist, quenching their thirst. V, by realising that they’ve made the wrong decision, can start to reinvent themselves and learn to live their new life without Johnny, even though they still miss him and feel guilty about the decision they’ve made. How they decide to deal with that guilt is up to the player: either taking Hanako’s offer and getting turned into an engram, which is can be read either as V hoping for eternal life, but also as a kind of punishment, to suffer what Johnny suffered through before meeting V, or returning to Earth, and try to reinvent themselves and living with their guilt, with the people who care about them.

« CHAPTER III
“I loved you once
and now I must spend
my whole life explaining why.”
"Stop staring at me."
Jaehyun glances at you after noticing that you have been staring for the whole five minutes of him working over something. You watched his veiny hands flip each page of the paper he was holding before jotting down his signature with black ink.
He stopped for a moment and looked at you with his thin gold-rimmed glasses resting on the bridge of his nose.
"Baby, I'm telling you. Don't provoke me."
"What? Did I do something wrong?" then purposely nudged the pencil holder near him. "Oh, right. Maybe I did."
You immediately kneeled down to pick the pencils up, arching your back more; enough for him to see your ass. Just as you were about to stand up, he suddenly lifted up your body and placed you on top of the desk.
"Jaehyun, what the he—" he shut you up with his index finger pressed to your lips and eyed you down with menacing look.
"Bend over," he orders. "Raise that skirt."
You do exactly what he said and faced the large space of his office while biting your lips as nervousness and excitement build upon your body. The trepidatious heat you're feeling is imparable; knowing that someone might widely open that door and see you both in that very sexual and unusual scene.
He slowly trailed up his cold fingers from the back of your knees to the exposed cheeks of your ass. With no words said, his hand harshly landed to your skin.
"I already told you to stop, didn't I? Why defy me?" he leans closer to your ear. "Use that pretty mouth of yours and answer me."
You shook your head sideways and pursued your lips to remain silent. The raging heat of your body weakened your knees as Jaehyun continued leaning closer. You felt his bulge growing behind you.
"My very own naughty dirty girl. You really, really like seeking attention, aren't you? Just because you know I am capable of doing this?"
"Jae, please."
"Why defy me, baby?"
"I did— I didn't!"
"Mhm, sure. I really don't care."
He pulled your black laced panties down and pushed the hem of the beige skirt to your waist. He even did your hair into a ponytail to pull. "Safe word?"
"Red, sir."
"Alright. Count my thrusts and if you get one wrong, I will absolutely sure you’re limping on your way out, whore."
He pulled you closer to him and positioned his member right to your area. He didn't wait for you to speak as he already get a hold of your waist and hair then pushed his fully erected member inside your wet pussy.
"Oh—holy fuck."
"What did I say? Count."
"O-one."
The whole room was filled with gradually speeding sounds of two bodies skin colliding. His hips harshly slamming against your ass made you release loud whimpers. The unholy grating and roughness of his movements by senselessly fucking you behind diminished your grasp to the table.
"Ah, shit, yes."
"Yeah? Like that?" he whispers to your ear then licked your jawline. "Such a big slut, are we? Your tight and wet pussy take my fucking cock so well."
You were on the peak of climax when you woke up to sense sound of a loud clap in front of your face. Everyone was looking at you, especially Johnny who gave you a what-is-happening-to-you look.
"Earth to Y/N. It's supposed to be a fun and special night yet you're spacing out?" Johnny utters before handing a bottle of cold beer. I massaged my temples as this is the fifth time of zoning out and thinking of things that I left buried in the past.
“Happy birthday, Y/N!"
It has been exactly five days ever since I moved out from the project for Neocity Incorporation. I didn’t want to settle in that decision but what are the odds anyway? He wanted me out of his sight just like how he wanted me before; to love and heal him.
You celebrated your not-so-fun birthday in your condominium unit with Johnny, Rosé, and Seolhee. Taeyong was also supposed to be there but he said he’s not available for he’s busy about something important. But he didn't just left you in the air like that for he dropped by earlier to give his very special and extravagant gift to you.
“Come on, just at least have fun,” Rosé spoke while munching on her fried chicken. “And the food tastes so damn good!”
“Rosie, that’s because you’re already finishing the box all by yourself.” Seolhee replies. Rosé gave her a deadly glare before taking another bite to the drumstick she's holding.
I trickled off the rivulet of cold beer on my throat before going out to the balcony to breathe in fresh air. As soon as the sliding door opened, cold breeze of wind embraced my body; making me cross my arms over my chest. I walked towards the metal handrail and placed my arms above it. Then wandered my eyes to the marvelous view. The skycrapers, busy highways of Seoul, and the gradient dark blue to black color sky of shining stars lured my despondent soul in.
I started tearing up as my heart felt a striding thump. "Oh, god. Why am I crying," I let out a small chuckle and wiped the tears that fell down my cheeks and from escaping my eyes.
"You're such a crybaby, just so you know."
The taunting dominant voice from my back halted me from moving. As I turn around, I saw him there, standing before me with a bottle of beer on his right hand. My breath hitched when his chocolate eyes meet mine, especially when that playful smirk is plastered on his lips.
"What are you doing here?" I shot back, giving emphasis to 'you'.
He walked towards my place and stood beside me as if he doesn't feel any tension between us. I rolled my eyes in annoyance. "You told me to stay away, now you're here to mess things up."
"I don't think I should even explain myself, Y/N."
What?
I let out a sarcastic scoff. "Wow, Mr. Jung. Did I step on your ego?" Jaehyun just looked at me as if trying to read me and my feelings. "I just wanted to say sorry, okay? I was intoxicated by alcohol that night."
"You feel sorry for being what, an asshole?” I ask, only to see his smile fade. “Where do you put alcohol, anyway? Down your annoying ass?"
That's for you, fucking jerk.
He chugged down the beer and slumped himself on the floor, his back leaning on the glass pane. I hate him. I really hate his guts. He’s arrogant, who act like my fucking boss, and act like he knows shit.
“I’m sorry, Y/N,” Jaehyun spoke. Sadness poisons his voice. “I mean it. Truly.”
I remained my eyes down at him, his chocolate like eyes gleam but sad. Is it bad if I feel remorseful? Even for once? I open my mouth to answer him, but nothing comes out. My anger and hate for him is tempered by coldness. I turn around to leave him alone but a warm embrace halted and encaged my body in.
“I’m sorry,” he murmurs, too low to hear. Something jostles my arms. “For what I did. I’m sorry. I know it’s not that easy to forgive but atleast let me prove myself to you—again.” His voice almost breaks.
With all my might and can, I detached his grip to mine. You are only apologetic whenever you feel like to do so.
“If you're sorry, you should’ve leave me alone,” I stare at him. “What does it feel like to be pushed away? You— you always confuse me.”
The thing with love is, no matter how hard you try to save and fix it, no matter how the two of you sacrifice, it always, in the end, becomes too much. Jaehyun and you was like two shadows playing with fire. No one was capable of winning, no one was capable of losing.
I went back inside and locked myself to my room. My heart fell into a pit of sneer razors, thin and sharp. I fear of being alone more than anything else before. But it was always better to be by oneself.
In the past few days, I’ve kept myself busy with the new project given by the boss. My exhaustion is bone-deep and my heart is another wound entirely, still bleeding from taking all pain and failure.
“Engineer? You have a visitor at the office.”
My brows immediately furrowed to the worker but I just gave him a nod. He then walked away afterwards. I wasn't expecting any visitor for today but maybe it's a surprise?
Right after I swung the door open, Jaehyun in his office attire and my co-worker, Jun, was talking about something. Jaehyun stood up when he saw me enter the room. I gave Jun a notice to go out for a meantime but instead, he gave me a wink and goodluck sign before leaving.
"I just came by to invite you," Jaehyun started. "It's just a party and I assure you I will bring you home after."
In short, a party and his date.
"And that is for what?" I answered. "I'm one of your least concerns, Mr. Jung. I don't think I should comply to that."
He licked his lower lip. "I don't have any one to go with me. So Y/N, please, just this one night?"
You don't know what force pulled you to hell just so you can agree and join him to the said party. You just found yourself wearing a black plunging neckline dress that you saw on your closet earlier. And partnered up with beige heels. A sexy clothing like this wasn't in your thoughts at all, but you wanted to grab Jaehyun's limelight at the party.
"You look so gorgeous tonight."
And that was his cue before sliding his hand to your waist while you both are making your way to the red carpeted hallway.
"Thanks, I guess?" You answered. Jaehyun gave you a sincere smile that revealed his two sets of deep dimples.
When the two of you entered the ballroom, you both were welcomed by media and the other guests that overwhelmed your whole being. Laughter and chattering resonated inside the palatial ballroom and the glimmering theme laced the party, having some resemblance to a renaissance painting.
“Mr. Jung! Good to see you here!”
An old man in black suit approached and shook hands with him. He looked at you surprisingly. “Oh, the great Miss Y/N! How could I forget?”
You replied to him with a smile and polite bow before grabbing a champagne flute from a waiter. Jaehyun ended his talk with the man and proceeded walking with you to the reserved table.
Many people was intrigued to as why you and him, were together in the event; especially the media who even interviewed you two regarding it. I’m just his date for tonight. That was your answer. By the whole time moving, you just got bored and more bored for social gatherings wasn’t really your thing.
“Come with me, I’ll show you something.”
Jaehyun handed you his hand before pulling you to run away from the ballroom. You giggled when you almost tripped on your feet while running to your way out.
“If this isn’t something good, swear to heaven’s saints and angels, I will fucking kick your balls!” You playfully taunt him.
He drove to the airport as soon as the car left the basement parking. The butterflies inside your stomach fluttered when both of you walked towards a private jet at the airport ramp. Your heart raced when you got inside and saw Mark standing at the cockpit.
“Where are we going?” You ask, but instead, he just shot his brow up at you.
The whole flight lasted for 12 hours and you still have zero idea to where Jaehyun is bringing you. Butterflies that flutter inside your stomach grew wild with anticipation when the plane landed safely—sending notice that you have arrived at your destination.
"Good evening. This is Captain Lee, your Pilot for the night. We have safely landed in Rome-Fiumicino Airport. Yo, Jaehyun Jung, use protection later!"
Mark vulgarly announced to the whole craft, making your cheeks flush. Jaehyun just laughed it off as if it's not awkward for him.
"You brought me to Rome freaking Italy?" You exasperated said, eyes widen, to the person beside you. "I already told you before, I will make myself up."
"I hope you know that I am sorry for everything, Y/N."
-
The soft knocks on your hotel room door woke your senses up. You rubbed your eyes before grabbing the silk robe you bought at a nearby boutique last night before you and Jaehyun check-in at a obviously luxurious hotel.
It's already 9 AM.
You opened the door and saw Jaehyun standing there, wearing a simple white shirt, tucked in his washed blue jeans. He eyed you up and down before greeting.
"Hi."
"Hey."
Silence.
One.
Two.
Three.
"You ready? We're going to our first tourist spot."
When we arrived at the Colosseum— which was my ever since wish, my jaw dropped as to see the beauty. Jaehyun, who is standing beside me kept looking at the old building.
"What's the use of your film camera if you won't open it?" I mocking asked before snatching it from him. "Go there, I'll take a picture of you."
He hesitated first before following your demand. You took two shots of him, standing in front of the beautifully created structure. You were doing boomerangs for your Instagram story when Jaehyun pulled you.
"Mi scusi, puoi farci una foto?" He politely asked to a passerby and gave her his phone. The old lady smiled and took it.
Jaehyun suddenly wrapped his arm on your shoulders, making your heart jump for a second. The woman counted before clicking the shutter of his phone camera.
"You, two, look nice together! Good couple!" She created a heart shaped sign then left us alone. Jaehyun beside you just laughed while you were standing there, dumbfounded.
He took your wrist and pulled you so the both of you started walking again. You also posted an IG story of Jaehyun's back that left a bombarding dm's from Rosé, Seolhee, Johnny, and Mark.
@parkrosies: please bring home some food!
@l_seolhee: NOW I KNOW WHY YOU'RE ABSENT
@seo.johnny: Use protection! ;)
@mark.lee: Have fun, Y/N! I hope you guys will go home with a baby.
Mark's message made you laugh then you closed your phone. The trip in Colosseum ended by eating at a near restaurant that was again, high-end and fancy. Jaehyun insisted walking to a park before going back to the hotel.
"Did you enjoy?" He asked while sipping on his iced americano.
You nodded slowly. "Hmm, I really did."
"We're just here for three days so we should go to a lot more places tomorrow." Your poor heart fell on your stomach as to his word.
"Three days will be enough, then," Jaehyun glanced at you. "I hope it's enough for us."
When the both of you arrived in front of each other's hotel doors, he gave you a small smile and mouthed, 'tomorrow' before going inside his room.
The next day, you woke up late because you slept late for contemplating over things. Jaehyun brought you to the center and major tourist attraction, St. Peter's Basilica. Then to the Pantheon and to a museum. Until the day after next, last day. It was Trevi Fountain; one of the places you wanted to travel to before.
"So this is the end?"
Jaehyun stared deep into your eyes as if enthralling. You nodded slowly when you felt a small pang in your heart. "Jaehyun."
He cocked his head to the side. "Yeah?"
"I'm forgiving you," l stated with a genuine smile on my lips. "And I also mean it. No lies."
"Wait, shit, for real?" He was suddenly jubilant.
The immaculate twinkle in his eyes made your heart even more flutter. He bit his lower lip when he felt his heart pounding in ebullience. Maybe three days were enough to understand and love something good about him.
"Thank you, Y/N. Tha—"
You gave him a smack on the lips before running back to your hotel room. Jaehyun was left there, in his room, still in shocked position. As soon as you closed the door, you leaned back to it and placed your hand to the chest.
You knew what it was.
With your heart into pieces, you try to heal it alone. Not knowing it was him the whole time.
You fell, again.

Tyrian owo
send a character & i’ll tell you my.
first impression.
Oh, we getting the typical crazy follower character now? Okay.
impression now.
Mr Callows, let it be known that I would die for you. Please ask me to die for you.
He’s a villain that enjoys doing what he does and doesn’t need an intricate backstory to tell us why he’s like this. There’s just not that much to Tyrian in motives, he wants to appease his Goddess, but he’s smart and knows how to use it both on and off the battlefield. He speaks eloquently and in dramatic gestures, which is so different from the classic crazy followers that I always see, and I’m grateful for it.
favorite moment.
His talk with Mercury and Emerald. It fully solidifies that Tyrian is smarter than he makes himself out to be and can manipulate your weak points to his advantage. He rightfully figured out that Mercury was bluffing when he said he belonged with Salem, and was scared of leaving the villains because he had no experience outside of assassin work.
His advice was solid. If Emerald and Mercury weren’t happy doing what they were doing, they should either leave or learn to accept it, even though Tyrian threatens them if they dare to leave. It pushes the teens to finally question their place in Salem’s faction while confirming that Tyrian is a deadly threat not only to the heroes, but to his own “allies”.
idea for a story.
I would like a story if Tyrian was taken to Atlas as he was meant to and imprisoned in their prison. It could’ve been like a Hannibal-inspired aspect, especially since Tyrian is smart and can figure people out scarily well if he has enough information. I’d love to see the heroes having to work with him to get one up on the villains.
unpopular opinion.
Uhhh, I don’t think I have one? There’s not a lot of unpopular opinions for Tyrian.
favorite relationship.
Watts. Take away my shipping goggles for a minute and they just have one of the best partnerships in the show. Watts doesn’t talk down to Tyrian or make fun of his failures like he did with Cinder, and rather compliments him because he trusts that Tyrian can get the job done. That level of trust has me chef’s kiss.
favorite headcanon.
He’s visually impared. I too am a blind bitch, but it was brought up in his fight with Qrow in V4. He didn’t seem to attack until Qrow had his weapon in his hand, and a few people started theorizing that he probably relied on sound more than sight. I think it’s jossed now with v7 showing that he very likely isn’t visually impaired, but since scorpions have bad eyesight, it’s a cute nod for me.

Make your post fit for any reader
I was wondering about blind and sight impared readers and how I can make my posts accessible for their reading software. So I called my local institution and they pointed me to a website that lists tips on how to make a website accessible for any surfer, be it blind readers, readers who can’t use a mouse, deaf readers, colorblind readers, epileptic readers, readers with RSI etc. Because about 15% of the population is not able-bodied.
The reading software I mention is software that reads a website out loud, based on the code behind it. Not only blind and sight impared people use it, but also people whose body isn’t fit to work with a mouse and/or a keyboard.
Since the list they pointed me to is not in English, I want to translate it for you. Here’s what I learned for tumblr posts. Spread the word!
1 Navigation
1.1 Use the structuring tools tumblr provides
Use the title feature for (sub)titles, so that the software knows it’s a (sub)title. A text in bold, cursive, or in a different or larger font type is just a plain text for the software. It doesn’t know that it’s a title.
If you make a list, don’t write a dash (-) or an asterisk (*) in front of the listed elements. Use the list feature, like I did in this list.
Don’t write *** between paragraphs to structure your text.
1.2 Your links are meaningful
The reading software makes a list of all the hyperlinks in a text. It’s confusing for your reader if it lists the word “here” five times. Provide context and meaning in your hyperlinked text.
Don’t write: “You can find more interesting articles here.” but write: “You can find more interesting articles here.”
Don’t write: “Sources: (x), (x) and (x)”, but write “Source 1, source 2 and source 3.
2 Content
2.1 Your post has a meaningful title
You don’t read every post from beginning to end, you scan to see if there’s anything interesting. So does this software. It scans the main title and any subtitles formatted in the title feature, so the reader can decide if it’s worth reading the plain text as well.
2.2 Images are described or have an alternative
The software can detect that there is an image, but can’t read it.
If you can avoid it, don’t give text in an image. If you share for example a poster of an event, with a date and a venue, that’s essential information the software can’t read.
Alternatively, you can add an image description, for example: “[Image description: a printscreen of my manuscript, with the word THE END in all caps underneath the last paragraph]”.
Sometimes an image works better than describing it in words. For some of my more complex writing advice posts, I choose to put information in an image because it works better than writing it all out. In that case, I will add the image description underneath the cut (”read more”) and mention above the cut that readers can find it there.
2.3 Video and sound
Like with images, label video and sound.
Subtitle videos (because automatically generated subtitles are not dependable).
Don’t let video and sound start automatically.
This is also relevant for able-bodied readers who are in a loud environment, or choose not to activate the sound or video because of slow internet connection etc.
3 Format/design
Don’t use spaces and other characters to format your text.
Chose texts and images that don’t blink more than 3 times per second, for epileptic readers.
Make sure colorblind people can understand your post, don’t use color as a differentiating feature.
Make sure your links are distinctly recognisable as links.
I hope you find this as useful as I did. I realised that it takes me little effort to include all kinds of readers into my posts, so I will take this into account with future posts.
Feel free to add to this, or correct me if I’m wrong, or if I accidentally gave information that is specific for my language. I don’t need to use it myself, but I want to include everyone.
This website is the source for this list. I only included the points that are relevant for tumblr posts, but the entire list is much longer. Its English version is a stub at the moment, so I have to link to the Dutch version. If you’re interested in making websites other than tumblr posts accessible for any surfer, especially websites of which you are allowed to control the html, you can translate the text on this website through google translate. Or maybe by the time you read this, they have a good English site.

Hi! I have a question, if that's okay! I wanted to write a character who is a blind psychiatrist/therapist - some context, this will take place in the future, so he'll have a robot helper (also a cane, as many visually impared people often complain they don't see this rep). Do you think this would be "unrealistic"? Again, sorry if it's a weird question, maybe more suitable for a psychiastrist xD
Short answer: It is still possible to get a PhD in Psychology and become a psychologist/therapist, but it is not possible to become a psychiatrist which is a bit different. In my long answer, I discuss the difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist and a possible solution.
So in ye olden times I was a psychology major. That’s the major I started community college with and it only took my second psychology class to realize it wasn’t the major for me and that I didn’t enjoy it. However, that second class happened to coincide with my recognition that I was losing my vision so I asked my professor the first week of class if it was possible for someone who was blind to become a psychologist.
He said “yes of course” and loaned me a psychology journal that had interviewed either 5 blind psychologists. And it is possible to make it through the years of college to get a PhD. (you know, in like ten years of university, three different degree levels, a specialized study and thesis, etc.)
Psychologists treat their patients with behavioral therapy programs based on research and talking with the patient to assess a problem and produce a solution the patient can use. But a lot of the work still falls on the patient to implement the plan into their daily life. Appointments with a psychologist are usually weekly and for an hour at a time. They have a smaller cliental following to psychiatrists (which I will get into next)
Psychiatry is different in that they focus on treatment through medication to solve problems with brain chemistry. For that reason, a medical degree is required to become a psychiatrist and to prescribe medication.
Is it possible to get a medical degree when you’re blind? I hate to say it, but I don’t think it’s possible. A lot of medical symptoms like rashes and bruising require sight to properly diagnose, plus looking at imaging scans of brains or bones or other organs to see the signs of a disease or injury. Just getting through medical school would be an ordeal fraught with unending discrimination from both professors and peers.
It could be argued that a robot helper could describe the visual symptoms, but then you run into the dilemma of “if robots can handle medical procedures, who needs humans to become doctors” followed by the dilemma of “if humans are needed to oversee robotic labor to make sure they don’t screw up, then the human overseeing them has to be able to see (insert ableism)”
So I would say becoming a psychologist who handles patient interviews and can have medical files read aloud via technology is within the realm of possibility. Hopefully this futuristic technology has become more accessible overall and there’s less discrimination against the blind in obtaining employment.
Psychologists usually collaborate with psychiatrists however, whether that is them working as partners in the same office, or referring their patients to the other’s care if they think the other doctor might better treat the patient.
So, possibly your character has a friendship with a psychiatrist and they work together, which could mean an interesting dynamic if that’s the route you wish to go for.
Addition: After posting this, a counselor in training sent me a message via anon to share their experiences for the original anon.
Re: Your blind psych post. I am a counselor in training myself so I wanted to add a few suggestions. You can copy and paste this onto your original answer. I wanted to suggest the counseling route or simply the psychologist route. Neither require medical school.OP, what draws you to this field? Do you want your character to conduct therapy? Where do you want them to work?
(2) What do you want them to do most? Research psychiatry, psychology, and counseling (LPC - Licensed Professor Counselor) and decide which one you like. I agree with Mimzy that psychiatry (which requires a medical degree) is probably out and your character would face A LOT of ableism. Psychology is possible. You can go many different routes career-wise. Clinical (therapy in various settings), Industrial-Organizational (researching and helping businesses and other organizations especially with boosting teams), school (not a school counselor and usually not a full-time position unlike a school counselor- the focus is on specialized cases such as a student with schizophrenia).
(3) You can also go the research route. My instinct is research with or without a private practice, with some previous experience in various agencies such as with substance use or eating disorders (which are mostly group work and some individual sessions). Psychologists can administer tests + interpret them.
(4) (That is a psychologist’s main thing- in a private practice, they would be administering tests often).Counseling is focused on therapy and uses the wellness model rather than the medical one. Therapy in individual or group is the main thing. Out of all these professions, they do therapy/counseling the most. They also handle clients after they have received medication for whatever diagnosis they have (if they received or needed medications).
(5) For example, they help with adjusting to school to school or work, regulating schedules or emotions, family adjustment, any other adjustments that person needs. They also help with more daily issues like adjustment disorders, chronic pain, dealing with grief or disease, sexuality or romantic concerns, adjusting to new disabilities, aging concerns, etc. They can diagnose (emphasizing counselor-client collaboration and the impact of a label on the client) and can conduct research.
(6-7) I say this because psychologists often say they aren’t equipped to (I majored in psychology in undergrad, so I am very familiar with these things). The three major areas are School, Clinical, and Marraige & Family. The schooling is the same save for a few specialized classes and a different certification for a School Counselor. Counselors can work in schools as School Counselors, with couples and families, and clinical counselors can work in in-patient settings, with substance use or eating disorders or other agency settings, with children (play therapy), in private practice, in universities, etc. All of these professions require at least a Masters degree, years of residency/supervision, licensure exams, and continuing education to maintain it.
(8) With the robot assistant, and this type of work, confidentiality is going to come up. How do you protect client data? Is the robot encrypted and protected with a password? Does it only work inside her place of work?
Final Note from Mimzy: I would like to thank you for your response and help. It was incredibly helpful and much more in depth than I could possibly provide.
