Ganesha, God of new beginnings πŸŒ™ I've been neglecting my ashtanga practice lately due to my teacher training. I tried holding on to it but in the end I gave up and I began to focus on the journey I was on instead of the one I used to be on. For the past 3 months I've barely set foot in a Mysore room. This morning I returned and it felt like coming home πŸ™β€οΈ One thing has changed though. I'm much less concerned with the endpoint (because there isn't any πŸ€”πŸ˜―) than I used to be or with trying to live up to the perfect or real way of practicing ashtanga. It's so easy to compare yourself to others in a Mysore class filled with very advanced and dedicated yogis, let alone to your yesterday's self, but today I was so past that. I barely realized what my co-yogis were up to but I thrived on the beautiful wave of energy we created while we shared our breath. And it didn't frustrate me one bit that today was a slow and stiff half primary, nor did I feel guilty for not showing up for such a long time. Coz you know what? This is my journey and no one else's. And some days I practice intermediate, other days I need a little yin (even when it's not Saturday😱). Some days I feel sore and weak and busy and I do a short and clumsy practice and other days I feel motivated, strong and playful. So I play and do handstands. And some days I go run instead because it's sunny outside. Yoga is an increasing part of my life, and it has absolutely nothing to do with what I do on my mat. And I can still identify myself with ashtanga without being religious about it. It's my journey. Best lesson ever, it feels so liberating. So thankful for having awesome teachers who can guide me not just in my asanas but in my inner journey, too. @mikko_seppinen @hannekonstantin & @acmpranayoga that's you btw πŸ˜‰πŸ™ ....................................... πŸ“· #throwbackto #bali in April ....................................... #ganesha #newbeginnings #itsmyjourney #ashtanga #yoga #practiceyogachangeyourworld #yogajourney #bali #latergram #ytt200 #mysore #ashtangamysore #yinyoga #sidemenvillage #holidaymood #teachers #influence #yogateacher #itsallgood (her: Samanvaya / Sidemen)
