taking a break from sci-fi for a bit to try out these popular translated manhuas i’ve been hearing about. finished the first volume of the scum-villains self-saving system and aaaaahhhh 🥺 shen qingqiu is so funny and luo binghe is literally the sweetest 🤧 im hurt by how the first book ended. cant wait for the second volume! love the art for this book. the glossaries and the pronunciation guides are very helpful 😭

prelude to foundation by isaac asimov is the first sci-fi book i’ve ever read in my life and it was a very fun read! i spoiled myself a bit about Hummin but aaaaaahhhh it was still great to see Seldon figure everything out. Dors is a badass character but i also feel like something is missing about her. overall, i really enjoyed the book. this was one of the only books where i was fully indulged into the story and genuinely laughed out loud.

i finished reading nos4a2 🤧 wooooow the show is very similar to it and the book had enough differences to add some surprises that weren’t featured in the amc adaptation!! this is one of the first horror books i’ve ever read and i’m glad i started out with this one. ❤️

first of all, “horcruxes”

just bought nos4a2 by joe hill and ordered its comic prequel wraith. i enjoyed watching the show so i’m looking forward to read these! the concept of strong creatives is really new and interesting to me, it’s one of the main things that lured to me even continue watching the show. plus zachary quinto always plays the best villains.

i haven’t read red queen since middle school. but at the time, only the first book was released in my school library so i never read the rest of the series, but i clearly remember pain and how much i loved the book. but i have been collecting the entire series throughout the years. with the show announcement released, guess who’s going to read them all :)

i’ve never annotated a book before and have been using sticky tabs/sticky notes ever since i started a week or so ago. i’m only half way done with realm breaker and all of my sticky tabs have run out :(

i plan on making a journal dedicated to tolkien’s middle earth. the pages will contain information about the characters mentioned in nearly all of the books on middle earth, their travels and so on. i will also be summarizing important events in the journal.

so far i’ve finished up to the silmarillion (already read the hobbit and the lord of the rings trilogy) and currently reading unfinished tales. i have many other books after that to read as well, so i have a lot of work to do. not only that but i need to work on my penmanship and calligraphy skills because they aren’t the best right now.

my friend bought us copies of realm breaker by @vaveyard last month and it finally came! i got to read through the prologue and it’s good so far. it broke my heart a little bit already :,)
