Sweetest little gal. After looking at the chocolate siamese and the mallowmese again, side by side now, I really don't think the mallowmese are chocolate siamese. I think they're lavender Siamese. I love their golden noses!

Recently looked through old pics of my mice and this got stuck in my head so I selected a few of them in order to do a few speedpaints. Not sure how many I'll do, but it's going to be a big collage of my faves in the end. It would be really cool if I could get a large print somewhere once it's done and hang it over my couch 🥺💕 At least the canvas is large enough, it's like 24 x 30 inches or something lol.

The two sisters in the first pic are SSP Splashed, they were born in my very first own litter. Their feet are still missing, that's just how far I got this today before my brain decided it needs a proper break XD Below is Adi, also born in my care, but only because I unknowingly had gotten a pregnant female. His color is Burmese Tricolor.

Bonus Post! Some Pics From The Earliest Dayz

One of the first pics I took when I started (re)playing Petz 5 and it was the newly adopted Spamton and BigWingz wrestling. The two were adopted together and I still consider the two to be brothers in a way.

Not too long after getting Spamton and BigWingz, I decided to mess around in the AC, seeing some of the breedz and I found a shiny! I wound up adopting that shiny, Blaze, and picked up Crystal the Furfrou as well! This also meant I could put PetzA to use and could have the four of them out together!

And then I couldn't resist and adopted two more petz: Kensa the Siamese and Cobalt the Russian Blue. Both of them use OW files, one for more variants and one to fix a glitch but I still considered them my "vanilla" adopts from the bunch.

I also quickly discovered just how jumpy spamcatz are. Really? A water bowl?

This was also my first experience with "evolving" breedz, right away there was a change with Blaze starting to evolve into a proper Houndoom!

I decided to continue playing with all six the day after and took them all to the beach. Inevitably, some got wet which lead to the first time Spamton curled up from getting spooked! BigWingz wound up being a bro by getting him to uncurl!... By tackling him into a tussle!

Another play session over in the living room lead to a caught mouse and a nap time where half of the petz went to sleep and left their "partners" to me and each other.

The next day I opted to have the pairs exit the carrying case separately. For Spamton and BigWingz it only felt appropriate for the two of them to head to [[Number 1 Rated Salesman1997]]'s shop. Where they proceeded to do drugs in the Trash Zone!

Crystal and Blaze, on the other hand, went on a pirate adventure with Peg! The two decided to have a Pokemon battle while they were there after one of them decided to claim a bone as treasure! To be fair: It was a really good bone!

And while the two scurvy dogz had their Pokemon battle, Peg had a battle of his own. He regrets bringing that parrot, darn thing just spits obscenities! At least that's what Peg says.

Speaking of scurvy, the two get some appropriate snacks for the occasion. These scurvy dogz are scurvy-free!

And from a tropical island to a dry, dry desert palace: Kensa and Cobalt head to Arabia to meet Jones!

Jones was quite polite with the kittenz, giving them toyz like this plush Cyndaquil and just being a delight.

The same could not be said of the snake. At least Kensa didn't like the snake, I certainly did! Definitely my favorite thing about visiting Arabia!

And as a last note: A little spotlight for the mice! When I get the opportunity I like to feed treatz to the mice and, eventually, I even named the two. So, we have Reshie the white mouse and Zekkie the gray mouse! Not visible in the pic but my cursor was right where Reshie stood up to sniff me, at the time of the pic I had already earned the little squeakers' trust!

Ghost: black cat, not a calm lazy black cat, but a quiet trouble maker

Soap: orange, he's got it all. And a perfect pair for ghost

Price: Persian siamese, expect him to throw up hair balls, come back home with mice, and often ruining your toilet paper. All while cuddling every night.

Gaz: sphinx cat, but I think he'd sometimes grow hair??? Identity crisis, anyway he'd swat at your plushies when your not looking cause he's jealous

Farah: calico, very sweet, but absolutely can NOT tolerate people she doesn't know touching her

Alex: scottish fold, cuddly and cute but can hold grudges and very protective

Valeria: a loooong Bengal. She can take a while to gain trust, but worth it. Lots of love bites

Alejandro: Maine coon. Majestic.

Rudy: cow cat. Lots of cuddles, lots of yowls at night.

Graves: Persian white hair, a bitch that'll betray you for food. Tricks you to think you finally taught him a trick, but once you have no treats he doesn't listen

Makarov: long haired Russian blue, a but grumpy, but appreciates occasional cuddles. Hunts lots of mice

Bonus oc, Julian: Egyptian Mao, she WILL hiss at you whenever you touch her bum. And rip up your current, but cuddle you every night and when she feels you're sad

♡ Ace Markey [Nyace]

♡ Was originally a barn cat meant to hunt mice, but his original owners found he was too skittish for the job, so he was handed to you. Needless to say, receiving that scraggly, orange ball of fluff was definitely among the best moments in your life.

♡ The core definition of what an orange cat is. Not a single thought in his head. From hissing at random objects to hissing at other cats, Nyace is definitely a handful. He picks fights with cats that can definitely carry him by the scruff, like Meowvi, Xanmeow and occasionally Nyaruko if he feels like trying his chances. He'll pick fights with everyone and everything. Including himself.

♡ Whenever he wants your attention, he'll come over and make sure you know he exists by throwing himself onto your back, lap, spleen, or hands. He wants attention, and he wants it neow. Enjoys ear scritches. He'll always hide when guests come over.

♡ When he's not needlessly aggressive, he's deliberately leaving orange hair all over your bedsheets. You can't get mad at him though, he's just silly. He's more of an indoor cat.

♡ That said, he'll proudly trot up to you with a toy mouse as if he actually hunted down a real one. You can't help but find it extremely cute.

♡ Arei Nageishi [Nyarei]

♡ She was removed from her original owners and rightfully so. You adopted a teeny tiny lynx-point siamese that was practically trembling in your hands when you brought her home.

♡ A sassy little princess. Will playfully bap other cats on the head. Whenever she does start something, she immediately runs to you for protection. She's also very protective of you. If it's her turn for you attention, she will make sure the other cats know that.

♡ She's besties with Meowden and J, but hates Nyarturo with a burning passion. Every time he walks by, she baps him in the head. She seems pretty chill with the other cats, baping them playfully.

♡ Nyarei will always be your side, lying on some part of your body or being in the same room. Whenever guests are over, she'll come over to say hello before going off to mind her own business.

♡ Whenever you're sad, Nyarei will come over and lie on you, purring to help you feel better. You're her favorite hooman. <3

♡ Arturo Giles [Nyarturo]

♡ Your friend came over one day and asked if you could look after this small, white somali cat they found wandering around. You took him in, wondering what could've happened for him to just wander the streets.

♡ He's a very hostile little thing. He'll judge other cats, but he seems pretty chill with Vermeow and Meowvi, even a bit nicer to Nyanco. He has beef with Nyarei, since he bullied Meowden once and got scratched by her bodyguard.

♡ He's very picky with petting. He'll only let you pet him. Behind the ears, under the chin and around the neck are where he'll allow pets. He's a bit iffy about back, but paws and belly are a no go.

♡ His owner, rather tragically, passed away. He's very attached to you for giving him the love he lacked. When he wants attention, he'll quietly come over, sit on your lap, and start to purr.

♡ He isn't fond of guests, opting to just be with the other cats and not the people who come over. He's also very well kept, cleaning himself often.

♡ Charles Cuevas [Charmeow]

♡ One day, you adopted a small kitty with an attitude problem. At first, he was just a sassy little snowshoe, but you eventually found he was rather loving.

♡ He's a pretty calm one. He's more for sitting in the sun and hanging with you. Occasionally, he gets up to shenanigans with Meowhit and Nyaruko. Even though Nyaruko attacked him, he didn't stop hanging out with her. By hanging out, I mean they just sit in the sun together or judge Davmeow. He just ignores Nyarei whenever she provokes him.

♡ He doesn't mind being touched by you, but he'll politely push others' hands away with his paw. A polite no. In private, he's a little snugglebug, even with Meowhit and Nyaruko. He cleans himself often, even allowing his two cat besties to do it.

♡ Charmeow has a cactus plushie he really likes to snuggle with. Every time he wants attention, he'll bring his cactus plush with him to snuggle while with you. He's actually a very neat cat, trying not to leave cat hair all over your clothes. When he does, he feels real bad about it.

♡ Every time you cook, he jumps onto the counter to watch. He just sits there, watching you cook. Sometimes he'll even pass you utensils. What a talented young man.

♡ David Chiem [Davmeow]

♡ You thought you adopted a starry-eyed, polite and sweet russian blue. A month later, you realize he's actually a little twat. Do you love him any less? No.

♡ Davmeow is very polite when guests come over. When they leave, he goes back to being a meanie. He seems to have feuds with Charmeow and Nyaruko. He isn't above bullying everyone, even you. He bites and scratches during his zoomies.

♡ He hits everyone in passing. Nyaruko is the only one who hits him back with no hesitation. Most of the other cats just look at him or hiss.

♡ Strangely enough, Davmeow seems to be in a somewhat passive relationship with Min. While he does occasionally bap her in the face, sometimes he'll loaf and birdwatch with her. He loves Xanmeow the most.

♡ Whenever he wants your attention, he will walk into the room and scream until you pet him on the head. Average cat activities.

♡ Eden Tobisa [Meowden]

♡ The silliest munchkin cat to breathe. Very friendly, you adopted her when your friend's cat had a litter of kittens and offered you one to take care of.

♡ Very fond of all the cats in the house... except Nyarturo. He bullies her a lot. Nyarei beats him up for it. Nyaruko seems to tolerate her, Nyanco seems to enjoy having her around, and all of the cats like Meowden save for the exception.

♡ Very energetic. For a cat of her tiny size, she enjoys running around and playing. In particular, she enjoys playfighting with Meowvi, despite him being a much larger cat. Her other daily activities include sunbathing, hanging with her besties, and napping.

♡ Second most prone to zoomies out of the girl cats. You have tripped on her multiple times.

♡ Hu Jing [PawJing]

♡ A very pretty bengal kitty, PawJing often helps you with house chores. One day, she followed you home and wouldn't stop meowing until you picked her up.

♡ She's very sweet around Nyanco, but she's very much sensitive around the other cats. She hisses at Nyace a lot, which is why they're kept at a distance. Her days are usually spent following you around. She has the sweetest meow of all the cats.

♡ If she senses something is wrong, she'll prance over with a blanket. She will literally not leave your side until you feel better.

♡ She's generally very sweet with guests. Next to Meowden wins "Nice Cat of The Week" many times in a row. As mentioned before, she'll often help you around with chores by carrying things and leaving them where you do.

♡ J Rosales [J]

♡ A generally pissy and tomboyish burmese. You found this one when opening up shop one day. Not sure how she got in. You just found her.

♡ Outside of actually trying to kill Nyarturo, her days are largely spent hanging around her cat buddies. Her favorite activity involves messing with the light switch.

♡ Generally okay with guests? Depends on the day, and if she's had her breakfast yet.

♡ Most of her days are spent being a normal cat, surprising as that may be. She'll rub up on your legs or loaf in your lap, pretty much the most normal cat of the litter.

♡ Levi Fontana [Meowvi]

♡ You saw a cat, covered in blood, limping down the street near the café. Concerned, you brought the [at the time] tiny maine coon to the vet for a checkup. With no chip or collar, you were allowed to keep him.

♡ He's a pretty sweet cat. Sure, he's very large and sheds like crazy, but that's just extra storage for all the love he has in him. He'll carry Meowden around, confusing her for a kitten. He also does that to Nyace, although results are very different.

♡ Much like PawJing, he'll help you with chores around the café. He's surprisingly intelligent, carrying utensils to their designated spots with no issue.

♡ When it comes to guests, he's actually quite shy. He'll come up and say hello, but he's usually hiding somewhere if a lot of people are coming in.

♡ Min Jeung [Min]

♡ It was the scenario of finding a cat inside a box with "please adopt me" written on it in sharpie in the rain. The little cornish rex came home with you and has been there ever since.

♡ Very shy. She skids when guests come over, and she'll only come out when it's a slow day or when the café is empty. She likes a few of the regulars, though.

♡ Despite looking like a very boring cat, she's insanely intelligent. She has figured out the tricks and you cannot deceive her into going to the vet.

♡ She's very attached to you specifically. She'll follow you around or sit on your shoulders, purring whenever you scratch her head. Most people confuse her for a stuffed animal at times.

♡ Nico Hakobyan [Nyanco]

♡ ... You're not entirely sure what they are. They're definitely a breed of short-haired cat, likely a scottish fold and british shorthair mix. They were the first ever cat you adopted into your care.

♡ Somehow, they're more shy than Min. Does not come out whenever the café is open. Exclusively hang out with PawJing, Purrose, and still prefer solitude.

♡ Really attached to you. Unbelievably clingy. While cats like Min, Meowhit, and occasionally Charmeow and the others can get clingy, none are as clingy as Nyanco. Will literally cling to you and never let go.

♡ Has a favorite mouse toy they bring with them everywhere. They will literally never go anywhere without one.

♡ Rose Lacroix [Purrose]

♡ A very sleepy tortie cat. You originally assumed she had died on the side of the street, only to find out that she was just asleep.

♡ As mentioned before, her hobby is sleeping. She is almost never awake. While she does seem to have some kind of kitty circle with Nyaruko, Meowden, and Min, she's usually sleeping through most of the day.

♡ When she is awake, she's usually pretty inactive. Never experiences zoomies and usually lies around whenever.

♡ Her favorite napping spot just happens to be your lap.

♡ Teruko Tawaki [Nyaruko]

♡ One day, while taking out the trash, you found this poor baby in the dumpster. The trip to the vet was definitely a fight, and it took her a while to get used to you... in the end, you're still the only human she trusts.

♡ On day one, she was pretty hostile to the others, even through the door meeting phase. Gradually, she warmed up to Charmeow and Meowhit. She began following them around and never left their sides until she was independent enough to hang out with the rest.

♡ She's distrusting of guests. At first, she would hide when they came over. Once she got a little more used to it, she would generally just sit in their vicinity, maybe come closer if she got curious.

♡ If you give her enough time, she'll come to you. She likes to nestle against you, as she finds you to be a source of safety. She couldn't be more grateful.

♡ Veronika Grebenshchikova [Vermeow]

♡ A strange calico you found in the café one day. No clue where she came from. She just appeared one day.

♡ She's definitely joyous and filled with whimsy. Very popular among guests for how silly she is!!

♡ When she's not bothering Nyarturo, she's causing general mischief around the café. Shenanigans that not even Nyarei gets up to. She'll look you dead in the eyes and reach for an electrical socket.

♡ She's very aggressive when playing. Of course, she doesn't cause any physical harm, but she gets rough sometimes. Somehow, more orange than Nyace.

♡ ... she's the one bringing dead mice to your doorstep.

♡ Whit Young [Meowhit]

♡ The charming turkish angora. Endearingly dubbed "vanilla custard" by guests, Meowhit is a very friendly cat!

♡ He loves to follow Charmeow and Nyaruko around. It's basically his hobby outside of cutesing his way out of trouble. He gets up to trouble with Nyarei.

♡ Strangely enough, he'll never let you go into the bathroom alone. He'll meow obnoxiously until you let him inside. Even then, he'll just sit on the sink and stare at you. You're not sure why... it's pretty worrying.

♡ He has a heart on his back. It would be a crime to miss this detail.

♡ Xander Matthews [Xanmeow]

♡ British shorthair with a missing eye. He was left at a shelter after he was abandoned. You have taken him in, and he's the most loving little creature ever.

♡ He's very hyper. He can run around endlessly and not get tired. Among Vermeow, Nyace and himself, he's somehow the most orange one of them. He is every single orange cat video to exist at the same time.

♡ So loud. He meows very loud without meaning to. Nyaruko hisses at him every time he does. The poor boy knows no rest. </3

♡ He's the one keeping everyone else in line. If they misbehave, she scruffs them and drags them into the corner for time out.

Colorpoint Dogs

A relatively new color mutation in dogs also known as himalayan, acromelanism, and temperature sensitive albinism. It is the same type of color mutation seen in Himalayan rabbits and siamese cats. Colorpoint is seen in a variety of other species such as rats, mice, and guinea pigs. Cats and rabbits are just the most well known examples.

The current oldest historical case in dogs is Apache the Rottweiler from 2005. The first publicly posted dog was a stray from 2009, and the first researched dog was Matysek the dachshund in 2017. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0378111920308817

There are 5 verified unique mutations in dogs at this point in time, and there may be more. Matysek, Rem, Belyash, and the Canadian dogs all have unique mutations. The South Carolina dogs have a variant nearly identical to Matysek’s but its own unique mutation.

Unfortunately Apache and the first stray cannot be researched to find out if they have unique variants as well, but perhaps in the years to come others that share their mutation will appear. It’s also possible more unique variants could appear.

Some variants seem very sensitive to temperature changes and have more extreme color shifts with warm and cold temperatures. It is called temperature sensitive albinism because it is a form of partial albinism that still allows color. Cold temperature causes an increase in color, while warm temperatures decrease color production. That’s why the extremities, the colder parts of the body, have more color.

In dogs there are no current health issues associated such as blindness or deafness. There are varying degrees of light sensitivity though. Cats can have crossed eyes, the dogs have not being studied enough yet to find out if that is a trait in dogs. That and the light sensitivity may vary by specific mutation.

An idea i had for some headcannons for Langley and F!chief is what if both of them were cats like in that one MBCC shit post from the official ptn acc

I think about that post a sane and normal amount. You can trust me. I'm normal about cats. Don't mind that I own eight or so of them.

Langley and F!Chief as cats

While Chief is a fluffy and affectionate nebelung cat, Langley is a sleek and elegant cream point Siamese.

Generally speaking, their personalities are stark contrasts. Chief is rarely if ever not seen with another cat, while Langley prefers to keep to herself. Window-sitting is her favorite hobby, staring out while she washes her paws in deep contemplation.

However, one thing they both have in common is that they’re both fiercely territorial. Neither of them like strange cats walking around without their permission, and both have their ways of dealing with intruders.

Of the pair, Chief is far more merciful. She’ll speak cordially with strangers at first, trying to warn them off with her words and body language, like the rattle of a rattlesnake. Even if they dismiss her warnings, she’s far more likely to chase them off through cunning rather than a fight.

On the other paw, if it’s gotten to the point where Langley is confronting an intruder, they’ve already been given their chance to get out and it went ignored. She’s not shy about using her teeth and claws and she has a penchant for striking from the shadows; often, the strange cat is sent fleeing from her territory with their tail between their legs, not even entirely sure of what just happened.

This naturally made the first meeting between Chief and Langley tense, as it occurred when Langley was trespassing on Chief’s territory. The smaller feline’s usual tactics of scaring off intruders didn’t work on this aloof cat, and she quickly realized that she had no chance of winning in a straight fight. So, Chief had no choice but to let Langley stay, hoping that her dominance over the other cats in the area was enough to keep it firmly cemented as her territory.

Of course, Chief kept a careful eye on Langley. She quickly came to realize that the Siamese brought a sort of controlled mischief with her – engaging in many of the typical “mischievous” behaviors of cats, such as knocking things off tables, clawing the furniture, and tracking toilet paper all over the house.

She was also a natural hunter, and Chief couldn’t help but notice all the stuffed mice were going missing. The audacity! Every single time she’d get more, it would take less than a week for them all to disappear, and she was sure Langley was taking them all! …Minus a few mice that were definitely being taken by Hella, OwO and similarly capricious kittens, but still.

Though, Chief had to admit she slightly envied Langley’s carefree-seeming lifestyle. She couldn’t remember her kittenhood at all and the last time she’d gotten up to mischief had been last month, on accident, when she missed a jump and sent a bunch of fragile china plates and cups crashing to the floor. She still felt guilty about that.

Still, over time, Chief began to see Langley as less of a tolerated intruder and more an informal member of the colony. Many cats in the area were still nervous around Langley, understandably so, and Chief couldn’t say she was exactly fond of it when Langley started bringing over members of her colony unannounced… but they were cordial and respectful enough, not like some of the other cats from the city Chief had the displeasure of dealing with, so she supposed it was alright.

Langley, meanwhile, is intrigued by Chief. For someone who’s so protective of her own territory and colony, she’s never had a problem with waltzing onto the territory of others if it suited her whims. Normally, the dominant cats of those territories buckle and fold within days, ceding to her, so she’s quite impressed with this young upstart who not only has the daring to stand up to her but the cunning and support to maintain her dominance. Chief has won Langley’s quiet respect, and she’s started to see Chief’s territory not exactly as an extension of her own, but certainly as an area she should protect like it was.

If she’s bringing over her colony members to help her deal with some unsavory types of cats on the borders that might threaten the Chief and her colony… Well, what Chief doesn’t know won’t hurt her, right?

Not if Langley’s there, anyhow. And Langley has no intentions of leaving anytime soon.

The ADHD won and I’m now contemplating drawing the Atlantis: The Lost Empire characters as cats but I can’t draw worth shit! 🤣

I imagine that Mole would be the cutest, roundest cat ever and he’d have little dust clouds coming off of him!

Rourke would just be ✨Majestic✨! Just a beautiful gray Maine Coon with white stripes and I’d keep that grin, of his, too!

I can see Kida as a Bengal. Those cats are loving and athletic as hell and are a pretty old breed of cat. They can also jump really high and are very playful.

I think Sweets would also be one of the larger cat breeds because he’s super tall and incredibly kind.

Cookie is an old, crotchety Barn cat. Just that cat that hangs around the barn, catches mice and has probably seen too much. A little thin, kind of twitchy with funky whiskers that stick out in all directions. Oh and he does NOT like being picked up!

I think that Mrs.Packard would be an old show cat since her backstory was really interesting (like damn this lady lived one hell of a life!). Probably a long-haired type. She’s at that age where she’s retired and gets to sit by the window and not give a damn about what her humans think.

Helga is definitely a Siamese as I have owned a Siamese-colored cat for about 21 years. My god, that cat just blew my mind, sometimes. I can imagine if kitty-Helga lived in a house full of dogs she’d boss them around ALL the time. Like, to the point of intimidating them and they’re always side-eyeing her when she walks into the room. (My cat did this and this trait fits Helga so -shrugs-) Oh and she wouldn’t tolerate many people and would only be affectionate to her owner. The kind of cat that’s silently judging you from her perch atop a chair.

Audrey, oh my gosh Audrey would be a Tortoise-Shell. I’ve owned one of these too and these cats are something; Brave, intelligent, sweet when you get on their good side and stubborn. (My God, are they stubborn). She’d be adventurous, too!

Vinny is a black cat. Probably an alley-cat who’s been in a few scraps. I imagine he’s found a very nice home with an eccentric man who makes bombs for a living. He’s gotten his whiskers singed a few times.

Milo. Oh my gosh, Milo! I think he’d be a tabby of some sort with really long legs. I imagine cozy autumn evenings where he sleeps on the desk of an old professor, listening to him read stories about Atlantis. At night, Kitty-Milo dreams of going there one day with his human. Sometimes, kitty Milo plays with his owner’s pith helmet.

MIKEY versus LAVENDER

MIKEY

he was a siamese-tabby mix (assumed! submitter only knew his mother), and they got him when they were about 5 years old, and he was just a kitten. they got him alongside of his sister, and he was the quieter of the two, so submitter used to joke that she did all the talking for them both, even tho he started meowing himself when his sister died. he passed in 2020, after 17 long and peaceful years. he was submitter's baby for all of those, and theyve never met a cat that they loved more than him <3 sweet boy

LAVENDER

A very soft black cat with big yellow eyes and knife sharp claws, who couldn't kill a fly if she tried (she's tried. it was cute to watch, but it got away) but can and will knead your skin until it bleeds! Also she carries her worm on a string toy (the clear string was cut off for safety) in her mouth like either her baby or her prey (submitter can't tell!) when she wants to play. She is loud. and keeps submitter sane enough to function.

and last but not least, one of the first good photos i took of her on my rusty old iPad with her eyes dilated more than i had ever got on camera. its a special photo to me, and she's a very special cat to me. after all of this propaganda, please vote lavender!!

Thought it time to highlight some of my other lines.

Exceptional coat on these angora reverse Siamese bucks.

These fellas are past the age where angora typically loose the 'skirt' making them good breeding stock.

Angora mice in Australia are difficult to breed as not all long coats havr the modifier . Adding to that next to no one has well established (5 to 10 years ) lines.

Making them a labour of love for the variety.

Hard work pays off.

Jake has a Siamese cat and for the cat's 14th birthday in September we bought him a pet bed. He wouldn't go near it. I thought maybe it smelled like the pet store or someone had tried it out on their cat or dog and he smelled those scents, so I washed it. He still wouldn't go near it and if we sat him down on it he'd spring away the second we let go of him.

This wasn't a surprise as, to date, that particular cat hasn't accepted a single gift we've bought him. He wouldn't use his scratching post. He refused to go inside the little house Jake bought him. He ignores his toy jingle balls, stuffed birds and catnip mice, and even the red light laser pointer. We figured the bed would just go into the shed alongside everything else we've bought that he doesn't like.

Then, just out of curiosity about a week ago, I went to the dirty clothes hamper and found one of Jake's shirts. I laid it over the top of the pet bed and waited. The cat came into the room, ran over to it, sniffed around and went to sleep on it immediately. Since then we can hardly keep him off the bed. I told Jake I don't think he's ever getting that shirt back.

We're only allowed 1 animal at the apartment we're moving into and it will be Jake's cat. It's an emotional support animal with paperwork while none of my own are. I'm really going to miss seeing my own pets every day. I'm sure my niece and her husband will treat them well but I can't over state how that's the roughest part of this move for me. I know it's just a precaution to get me closer to emergency services just in case I need them, but darn it my dog, my own cat and my outdoors animals were a regular part of my daily routine and a major stress reliever.
