Angel's First Pride
"Remind me again why we need to paint the stripes of colours on our cheeks for a march?" Castiel asked as Nadine carefully painted the last purple stripe across his cheek, right under the still drying blue paint.
"It's for fun and to show your pride in who you are, it's kinda just like icing on a cake. You don't need it but doesn't it make it more enjoyable?" Nadine shrugged with an easy going smile on his face, the blue, pink and white stripes on his own cheek well and truly dry.
"I think you just like facepaint." Dean snorted, his own cheek adorned with pink, purple and blue as he inspected Nadine's handiwork on their angel's confused face.
"It's a bonding experience Dean, we're bonding right now. Do you feel bonded too Cas?" Nadine asks with a roll of his eyes, Castiel smiles once his brown eyes fall back to him and he nods ever so slightly.
"I feel very bonded to you both. Thank you for allowing me to be apart of this with you." He hummed sincerely and Nadine and Dean both paused to watch him a moment before Nadine bent forward to peck his temple. Dean strode up to his side and rested his chin on his shoulder, lazily patting his back.
"Wouldn't have gone without ya." He murmurs, and Nadine nods fervently in agreement. Castiel smiled softly and said nothing more, enjoying the warm embrace and excited for what else this day would bring.
I wanted to do at least one pride piece and spn is on the brain at the moment so !!! you get profound bond trio getting ready for a march!! Still not used to doing this style on the ipad so it's a bit wonky here and there but it's full of love so who cares! Happy pride everyone !! ❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜🩷

He let out a loud groan, sure no one could hear him from the comfort of his car as he slumped back into the flaky leather seat. He ran his hands down his face and he could feel the months exhaustion washing over him, everytime he took a step forward he got knocked back down a steep hill with broken glass at the bottom of it. He didn't know how many more falls he could take. The thought had tears pricking at his waterline, lips downturned and drawn tight as he tried to keep himself from falling apart. Like hell he'd risk anyone seeing that.
His phone buzzed in his pocket and he let it go for a few moments, sucking in a deep breath and squeezing his eyes shut. As much as he wanted to drive back to his apartment and hide under the covers until hell froze over he knew it could only be one of two people calling; his sister or his boss. Neither one who'd be happy about having him miss their call.
He shifted to the side and shimmied the phone out of his pocket, not bothering to check the caller ID as he lifted it to his ear.
"Yeah?"
"Sinclaire where the hell are you?"
So it was his boss. And he sounded pissed anyway. Awesome.
"Midtown sir."
"Why the fuck are you in midtown? Jones is waiting for you in Tuxedo Park, get your ass over there pronto."
Tuxedo Park? What was he doing in the rich neighborhood? Another entitled asshole calling on some poor guy trying to walk his dog again? He did not have time for this stupid shit, he wasn't a cop he was a detective for fucks sake—
"Yes sir." He pocketed his phone, not really having a choice in the matter and lacking the energy to argue. He put the key in the ignition, turning it with no avail. It took a few tries for the engine to roar to life, spluttering in a way that would make anyone who had self preservation hesitant to drive. He pet the dash as the sound evened out and pulled out of the park, driving down the road and past the bar.
The gamblers he'd spoken to watch him as he goes, offering shit eating grins and coy waves that make his blood boil. If karma was righteous they'd get caught out cheating at their stupid casino and thrown in a very dark cell.

Who broke it meme but it's with PJO characters + my oc
Nadine: so, who broke it? I'm not mad, I just wanna know.
Grover: I did. I broke it-
Nadine: No. No you didn't. Leo?
Leo: don't look at me. Look at Neeks.
Nico: what? I didn't break it.
Leo: uh? That's weird. How did you know it was broken?
Nico: because it's sitting right in front of us, and it's broken.
Leo: suspiscious.
Nico: no, it's not!
Percy: if, if it matters, probably not but, Pip was the last one to use i-
Piper: liar, I don't even drink that crap!
Percy: oh, really? Then what were you doing by the coffee cart earlier?
Piper: I use the wooden stirs to push back my cuticles, everyone knows that, Percy!
Grover: ok, ok, let's not fight. I broke it, let me pay for it, Nad.
Nadine: no! Who broke it?
Will: sis, Annie's been awfully quiet-
Annabeth: really?! OH MY-
*Arguing happening*
Nadine: I broke it. It burned my hand so I punched it. I predict ten minutes from now, they'll be at each other's throats with war paint on their faces and a pig head on a stick.
*More arguing*
Nadine: good. It was getting a little chummy around here.

Not quite a wishlist but some ideas for muses/characters I'd love to throw my girls at that I haven't done before/it's been a long time. If you see any of these and think "oh I have that muse and would love to go for that" drop me a DM.
ALEXIS ROSE
Any Supernatural muses. Would love more TFW interactions, with the boys or with her dad, Cas. Would also love to write her being a big sis to Jack. Also open to OCs too, throw your hunters and supernatural being as Alexis.
ARIANNA YANNA
Modern verses for Merlin muses maybe, could be reincarnation or brought back to life (like Arianna). Would also love more knights to write with, whether canon or oc.
CHARLIE HARGREEVES
Always just all the Hargreeves siblings, I love family threads (this also includes Lila too). Would also kind of love a Luther or Diego to write with, I don't get to write with them often enough.
CHRISSIE CONNORS
Uncharted muses, I haven't have much of a chance to actually write her in a proper Uncharted verse. Would love to write with any of the Drakes (especially Sam), Sully, Elena, Chloe or Nadine. Just throw anyone at me. (Same goes for Uncharted OCs too).
ILIDARIA ROSEBUD
Dungeons and Dragons muses in general, can be original characters, from Critical Role (I've never watched it but know of the characters), Baldur's Gate 3 (I've played a little of Act 1 with Ilidaria) or from the newer movie. Just let my girl go on adventures and make friends.
KIMIKO
Just more One Piece muses in general, especially more Strawhats (I haven't written at all with Usopp, Franky, Brook or Jimbe yet). Also would love other characters too, just anyone you wanna throw at her (would kind of love a Bepo because Kimiko would befriend him straight away). OCs too!
KYOKO MISAKA
Just any Bleach muses. I haven't written her really at all yet. So any muses canons or OCs would be really awesome.
LUCY BOONE
As much as I would love Dark Matter canon muses, I know it's kind of an obscure show so I know they probably aren't really out there. So just give me some good sci-fi stuff. Or I would love to write her Zombie AU verse as a Last of Us verse with some Last of Us muses (can be show or game based, I love both)
MAGGIE ROGERS
Just more Marvel muses, would love a Torres to write with or just more new Team Cap shenanigans. Or family threads with Sharon, Steve and Peggy. I love this universe a lot but here's a few of my faves that I'd love to throw Maggie at too - Matt Murdock/Daredevil with added Foggy & Karen, any of the Guardians, Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, Yelena Belova or just any of the Thunderbolts. Honestly just open to anyone really, OCs included. Also would be down for crossovers with DC characters too.
NICO PARKER
More the Boys muses, would just love to throw her at any of the group - especially Butcher, give me sibling threads.
REY ASHFORD
Any of the Hargreeves siblings, would be open to writing her alongside Charlie too.
SERENA YANNA
Any Merlin muses really, also getting to explore her modern verse more.

Author’s Note: this chapter kinda sucks but I swear it’ll get better 😭💕
Chapter 15
Sunny’s POV
A massive armored truck with a turret drifted by our hiding spot in the tall grass. It hadn’t seen us yet. In the corner of my eye, I spotted a bit of movement. It was Nadine creeping up behind two men to take them out with her powerful kicks. I tapped Chloe on the shoulder and pointed in her direction. “Look at this idiot.” I mumbled and she sighed, shaking her head.
“She’s really stepped in it now.” She whispered. The rain was still pouring heavily and showed no signs of easing up. Wind blew, shifting the rain a little and making it harder to see. I ran my hand down my face to rid it of excess water only for me to be soaked again. It was pointless but I kept doing it. “Alright let’s move… Keep it quiet, yeah?” She asked. I nodded and followed her out of the tall grass to take cover behind a massive boulder. That’s when I saw it. Flipped upside down with the front totaled, burning in thick black smoke and licks of flame was the cherry red 4x4. My jaw dropped as I watched it burn.
“That little…..” I knocked my head against the boulder in anger, clenching my fists.
“Not getting that deposit back.” Chloe commented, jokingly.
“Yeah no shit.” I growled, flexing my nostrils as I shook my head. “And my snacks were in there… all my guns…. Fuck….”
“I’m sorry, love.” She said placing a hand on my shoulder as she looked around the corner. Two guards were pacing the area with their Type 95s. I noticed them too. “You take right, I’ll take left?” She whispered and I nodded, pulling my knife from its holster and readying it in my hand.
It was easy. They didn’t hear us coming. Chloe jumped on her guy’s back and just put him to sleep. Me on the other hand, covered my guy’s mouth and sliced his throat. “Jesus, Sunny.” Chloe marveled. I shrugged carelessly as I pulled the gun from the man bleeding out in the grass.
“I know. I’m just angry.” I said, checking my ammo clip. “We gotta take out that truck but we’re gonna need something heavier. These guns aren’t even gonna put a dent in it.”
“If you can cover me, I’ll skim through the crates and see what explosives I can find.” She said.
“Of course, sis!” I sighed. Chloe flashed a smile and we began to move accordingly.
We snuck through any open ruins, taking out men with as much stealth as possible. The fact that it was raining and thundering so hard aided in covering our sound more and nobody ever saw us coming. We found an RPG stock and a few warheads to use. We rounded up at least six heads. In our idiotic greed, we tried to shoot for eight but just as Chloe had partially broken into the next crate, the armored truck stopped right next to us. “Ah, shit—” I exclaimed, reaching out to grab my friend and pushing her down into cover as the truck released a barrage of thick bullets.
“This should be enough!” She yelled to me over the noise. I just nodded and began to screw in a warhead.
“Wait for it!” I shouted, waiting in cover for the bullets to end. The turret had to reset eventually. We kept our heads down for a few more seconds. “Wait for it….” The bullets kept going and going, just about to break through the stone barrier until suddenly it stopped. The turret had run out of bullets. I smirked and immediately sat up to take aim at the grill. “Bitch.” I mumbled before pulling the trigger to blow it up. In the fiery explosion, the truck hopped a little, bouncing on its suspension.
“Do it again!” Chloe said hurriedly, holding out another warhead.
“Gimme a minute!” I exclaimed, preparing for the next one. But it was too late. The truck had reloaded. “We gotta find cover again. They’re gonna blow a hole through here.” She nodded as I slipped the heavy RPG over my shoulder and we ran across the field, dodging bullets swiftly.
In our moment of splitting up, I climbed to the top of a ruin and took cover there. My heart was racing and my breathing was shaky. I prepared myself to take aim again and shot off another warhead at the truck. “I HOPE THAT HURT!” I heard Chloe exclaim. When I looked down, she was fighting off a handful of men. She always was a shit talker in a fight. I smirked in pride as I changed the warhead again. I looked around to see if I could see the truck again only to instead find Ms. Ross and her crazy self. Low and behold, she was holding her own, also taking on her share of men. I could see a few more coming towards both women and I figured maybe I’d help them out. I pulled my long gun and began to take aim. ‘Gonna take a bit of ammo from this distance but I think I can get ‘em….’ I thought, biting my lip as I tried to focus. I could feel the recoil as I pulled the trigger, the power behind each shot. I took each of them out then turned to help Nadine. She actually managed to fight them all off. All but one. She didn’t see before but she missed him. And he hid behind a barrier, ready to take his shot. I watched in worry as Nadine turned, startled as she stared down the barrel of this man’s handgun. Nervously, I took aim. I used so much ammo, I was almost sure I was out of bullets. But I pulled the trigger all the same and I put a hole in his head before his finger could even ghost his. His body hit the ground and Nadine turned to see where the shot had come from. When she locked eyes with mine, I shot her a smirk and a swanky salute, tossing the gun off of my post. She stared at me with a pissed off expression before making her way towards the cow statue. On the platform was a crank to turn just like the others. That pesky armored truck followed her over and began to shoot off more bullets. But it was weak. Smoke rose from the grill, sparks flying as the bits of loose metal scraped against each other when it drove along the rocky terrain. It was on its last legs.
“Nadine! Take cover!” I shouted to her and she ran to safety behind a pillar as I readied the RPG again. With that, I squeezed the trigger and watched the final warhead fly to the truck, exploding in a great fire as it collided with the weakened vehicle. And just like that, it was over. I took my grappling hook and managed to get it around a tree branch. “Chloe, to the statue!” I called before swinging across and landing in a puddle with a splash. Nadine appeared from behind the pillar, barely able to look at me as she got ready to push the crank. “Need some assistance?” I asked her. She wasn’t very reactionary. She crinkled her brows and grabbed a bar, ready to push. I sighed and grabbed the other. With a brief count off, the two of us were turning the crank. As Chloe climbed her way up the platform, the bell in front of the cow seemed to slide open on the side like a door, displaying a deep stairwell. I opened my mouth to say something to Nadine but she’d already turned on her heel to go inside and out of the rain.
“You’re welcome!” Chloe sang to her, expecting her to be thankful that we just saved her skin. I groaned and shook my head, stepping out of the way for them as I wiped the continuous streams of rain water from my eyes pointlessly. Nadine turned to look at her with an audacious expression, her face screwed up into a snarl. Chloe chewed on her lip nervously as she approached.
“You lied to my face—” Nadine attacked.
“I didn’t lie! I just left out the part about Sam….” Chloe replied in defense as she headed towards the newly opened doorway. Nadine scoffed and forced a laugh.
“Incredible—”
“Imma need y’all to stop fightin’. Okay- Asav’s got the disc and we need to hurry up n’ catch him—”
“‘We?’” Nadine looked at us incredulously, laughing preposterously. Chloe sighed, throwing her hands up and clenching her fists in frustration as she tried to find the right words. “Spit it out!” She snapped at her.
“Okay!” Chloe cracked under her pressure. “Look, I…. Cards on the table… I need your help.”
“You should’ve thought about that before—”
“And if you want the tusk, you’re going to need mine. You’re going to need Sunny’s.” Chloe said. I crossed my arms and sighed, avoiding Nadine’s gaze as she spoke. She raised her shoulders and opened her arms. “Look, I screwed up, alright?” She said, pushing her bangs out of her face. Nadine placed her hands on her hips and raised a brow.
“This is your idea of an apology?” Nadine scoffed. Chloe just shrugged.
“If it helps keep your head in the game, then sure—”
“Chloe!” I snapped, looking at her. Jesus, this woman had a hard time saying the “S” word. She looked at me in confusion as Nadine pushed by her, annoyed. I gestured to her very obviously and gave her a look. She needed to fix this thing with Nadine. With a sigh, Chloe intercepted her path towards the stairs.
“Look, we both have something to lose here, right? All of us?” Chloe tried to reason but every word that came out of her mouth was the wrong thing. I shook my head, pinching the bridge of my nose. I couldn’t even watch. Nadine stared at her a moment before speaking up.
“Just so we’re clear: My priority is the tusk. Not Sam Drake,” she said looking at me with burning eyes then back to Chloe. “And most certainly not you.” With that, she walked by her, bumping shoulders with me roughly as she pushed by to descend the stairwell. I sighed as lightning cracked across the dark and rainy skies. Much like some pig headed guy, Chloe shrugged it off and tried to wipe some of the dirt from her face.
“What the fuck was that?” I said, raising my voice at her. Chloe shook her head.
“I said sorry—”
“No. No you didn’t, Chloe- you made excuses.” I called her on it, poking her in the chest. She got quiet, placing her hands on her hips and rocking her weight back and forth. She bit her lip to keep from exploding but her attempt failed. She groaned loudly, throwing her hands in the air.
“Well, what the bloody hell do you say to a woman that amazing?” She retorted. There it was. She shook her head at a loss. “How do I patch this up? Everything that comes out is wrong. I don’t just… do this.” I chuckled to myself, amused by the mess the three of us were. Not a single one of us were perfect by any means.
“None of us do apparently. But someone told me somethin’ recently. She said, ‘There’s no point in bein’ closed off. Especially with the life we live.’” I told her looking down the stairwell after Nadine. I locked eyes with her and gave her the most serious expression. She gasped to herself, that same frightened expression Nadine had when she realized her feelings was now on her face. She searched my face for answers I didn’t have and I just blinked at her. “You need to fix it, Chlo.” With that, she gave a deep sigh.
“Alright…. I get it.” She nodded.
“Suck it up, buttercup!” I said, slapping her ass. She gave a soft chuckle and started down the stairs with me at her tail.
As we entered the dark and wet hallway, we watched Nadine pull a crank and the door on the bell slid shut behind us. Even upset, she still didn’t want us followed. What was bad for us was bad for her. As we walked down the dim hall, a bit of smoke seemed to hang in the air. Plants were wild and overgrown, covering the walls and pillars, simply thriving off of the mist in the atmosphere. We walked down several stairways and admired a number of carvings. Then suddenly, a loud explosion echoed through, stopping us in our tracks. Little bits of debris fell from the walls and ceiling as slight pressure pushed at our tired bodies. “What the hell was that?” I asked nervously.
“Exactly what it sounded like.” Nadine answered, curtly.
“Taking shortcuts, eh?” Chloe mumbled to herself in frustration as we began a light jog down the endless flights of stairs towards the light at the end of the hall.
We found ourselves standing at a wall with beautiful stone carved work. This one of the same Nandi statue outside, a line of people in single file entering the bell just as we had. It was all so surreal. We were taking the same journey as the Hoysala to Belur. Chloe flashed her light on it, marveling at it all. “Well I’ll be damned…. The kings led their people through these tunnels… We didn’t find an entrance. This is the back door.” She smirked. I could feel my head nodding as I stared at the work before me. With that, we continued down the stepwell. It was rather quiet in the tunnels. All that could be heard were the light echoes of dripping and running water, a few birds and monkeys. One noise stood out above the rest though. It sounded like a roar. The minute we heard it, we slowed down.
“And that was...?” I asked, raising a shapely brow.
“The hell if I know but it’s close.” Nadine grunted.
“Stay vigilant, ladies.” Chloe said, pushing forward. The stairs led us to a massive room, water flooding the floors and trickling from the ceiling. We heard that roar again and found the culprit in the corner of the room. An Indian Elephant laid trapped beneath a heavy broken pillar. It was in distress and if I didn’t know any better, I thought I could see some tears falling from its eyes. Immediately, the three of us turned soft. In the mixture of coos and whines, we all felt horrible about its situation. Of course we had to save it.
Quickly, we slid down a mudslide into the room and approached it carefully as it struggled against the heavy broken stones. I rounded the side towards its head as it lifted its trunk to let out another cry. “Easy, baby… easy….” I cooed, reaching out to gently pet it’s head as Chloe and Nadine climbed around its back. It let out a soft cry and it almost brought me to tears. “I know, shug. We’re gonna get you outta there.” I sighed, it’s skin rough and patchy beneath my fingers.
“She’s trapped but I don’t think she’s wounded.” Nadine said, running her hand over its back softly.
“Those explosions we heard must’ve triggered the collapse.” Chloe said, also petting the elephant.
“Those assholes….” I hum under my breath as I watched the girls sit on its back with their feet against the pillar, trying to kick it off as I comforted the poor creature. But they struggled.
“Sunny, get up here- we need some help— we’ve almost got it.” Chloe grunted. I nodded, looking at the massive animal in its eyes sadly. I climbed the platform and sat down on the elephant’s back, leaning against the wall to kick my feet up onto the pillar. “On three….” She said. She counted us off and I used all the power left in my legs to push as hard as I could, baring my teeth as I grunted. We pushed and pushed and pushed until the pillar moved and fell on its side off of the animal. Just as I was about to let off a quick sigh of relief, the elephant suddenly stood up, a trill noise erupting from its trunk. “Wait, wait—” Chloe exclaimed as we instinctively threw our legs over its spine. It began to walk down a tunnel, carrying the three of us on its back; and it looked like we were still on the right path to wherever we were going.
“We need to get down.” Nadine suddenly huffed. I scoffed and she turned around to look at me.
“Really, Nadine? We’re literally riding an elephant and your first thought is to get off of it?” I knew she was pissed but come on. This was incredible!
“This isn’t a tourist elephant, Spurrs— this is a wild animal!”
“Will you relax, Nadine?” Chloe groaned. “It doesn’t seem to bother her, does it girl?” She picked off a low hanging branch, sprouting with yellow fruits and held it out for the elephant to eat. She chewed happily and tooted from her trunk; Chloe turned to give her a bright smile but it was to no avail. Nadine gave us both a look and just sat between us sulking. Chloe frowned and looked at me. I gestured to the woman between us and made a face.
“Fuckin’ do it!” I mouthed to her and she winced, biting her lip before turning back around. I couldn’t see her face but I knew she was racking her brain for the right words to say. I sighed as I watched her pull fruit from the branch and place them in the elephant’s grasp. When there were no more fruits left, she tossed the stick aside and the three of us rode in silence. We looked up just as a family of monkeys began to crawl across the branches above us. I looked over Nadine’s shoulder and a soft smile graced her lips as she watched them play and swing about. Chloe turned to look at her, knowing she loved them. But once again, Nadine contorted her face and looked away. Chloe gave a deep sigh and slouched her narrow shoulders.
“Look, um….. I’m not very good at the whole…. people thing….” she said rather nervously, petting the elephant for comfort as she said what she needed to say. Nadine looked at her a moment, her stone cold expression never wavering.
“You’re a selfish dickhead.” She said to her plainly and abruptly. Chloe hung her head for a moment. But she nodded, completely understanding.
“Yeah…. you’re right. I am a selfish dickhead…” She agreed.
“Ja. Long as we’re both clear on that.” She said in a matter-of-fact tone. Chloe giggled a little and a smile slowly crawled onto Nadine’s face. I smirked at how easy Nadine seemed to forgive her. Matters of the heart truly conquered all. I could only hope it’d do the same for Sam and I… Anyway, I was glad they made up. I didn’t know if I could take their fighting much longer. Then Nadine turned to look at me. I cowered under her gaze as she stared into my eyes long and hard before her features softened.
“Sorry about the check to the face…” she said. The moment she referenced it, I felt a sting and an achiness spread across my cheekbone. I shook off the pain and shrugged.
“I’m sure I had it comin’.” I mumbled, shyly. I was never sure anymore. So much bullshit flew out of my mouth, it’s a miracle I haven’t ended up dead somewhere.
“Actually, you didn’t. I panicked. I do trust you. It’s Sam I don’t trust…” She bit her lip and crinkled her brows. I just nodded.
“And I absolutely understand that. You have my full permission to beat his ass if I’m bein’ honest. Especially if I don’t get to him first.” I said, looking off at the misty waterfall in the distance. Nadine let out a pleasant chuckle and I smiled. “I don’t betray my friends, Nadine.”
“Oh, is that what we are now?” She asked with a bit of sarcasm. I giggled and punched her arm playfully.
“Lil’ shit…” I grinned. It seemed things were better between us now. And I could only hope they’d stay that way.
“So you’re an asshole, I’m a little shit, and Chloe’s a dickhead.” Nadine gathered.
“Nice!” Chloe chuckled, pulling her little trinket from her pocket to play with it between her roughed up fingers. “Hear that, dad? Guess I got something from you after all…” she mumbled. I could hear the sadness in her voice. We sat in silence before I finally spoke.
“What happened to your pops, Chloe?” I asked rather innocently, my eyes never leaving her dirt covered, sweaty back. She took a deep sigh and looked up at the scenery passing us by slowly. I always knew it was hard for her to talk about things that weren’t about work or fun. It was just how she operated. But I could understand. It was easier than talking about the things that really hurt; the things that really mattered, the struggles that make us who we are.
“He um….. He was the guy that just couldn’t walk away…” she began. “The Ministry of Culture promised to fund one more of his expeditions. Because this time, he was onto something big.” She scoffed and shook her head a little. “He was always into something big… But, um…. bandits raided his camp… Local authorities found his body two weeks later…. And this stupid thing is all I have left of him.” She said, showing us the little gold piece with a carving of Ganesh on it. My brows raised, crinkling a little as my heart broke for her. I wished she hadn’t lost her father like that.
“I’m sorry…” Nadine sighed. Chloe looked over her shoulder at us with a small smile.
“It’s fine…. He certainly made his choice…” she said, waving it off. The moment she locked eyes with Nadine, I could see hers light up. She looked helpless. I could see her mouth trying to find the right words to address it. “So… I—” Suddenly, just as she began to talk, the animal we rode on growled and let off a strong trill. I’d almost forgotten we were on an elephant for the moment. It kicked up on its hind legs a little, almost causing me to slide off. I wrapped my arms around Nadine’s waist as she grabbed Chloe’s in surprise and it began to charge forward.
“What the fuck, guys?!” I sang, not exactly sure what was about to happen next.
“Tell it to stop!” Nadine exclaimed.
“‘Cause I speak elephant!” Chloe replied sarcastically. Before we could even figure out a plan, the elephant jumped off of a short cliff, cherry bombing into a small body of cool blue waters. I squealed as I fell in, tumbling about the pressure of the ripples, watching the elephant swim away underwater, bubbles dancing about us all as we swam back up to the top. As soon as my face broke the surface, I began gasping for air, the three of us laughing as I pushed my wet curls off of my forehead. We began to swim to shore, only to find a family of elephants. The one that took us on our journey practically ran to be with them.
“Oh no wonder she was so worried to get back! They’ve got a calf with them.” Nadine said, nodding towards the smaller creature as she wiped the excess water from her arms. I watched the momma elephant caress her babies head with her trunk as I wrung out my shirt and cooed.
“Lookit…” I marveled, staring at the sight before me.
“So cute…” Chloe sighed. I watched her turn to Nadine to give a solemn expression. “Look….about the Sam thing—”
“I’ve got my own shit to sort out as well.” Nadine interrupted, waving her off. “Let’s not have that stand in the way anymore, hey? I forgive you. For now.” She smirked. I grinned and opened my arms to the two of them.
“Group hug?” I asked.
“Too much.” Nadine replied immediately and I began to pout, Chloe chuckling as she patted me on the back.
“Next time, China.” She laughed.
We admired them for a little while, each of us taking pictures with the elephants. This was going to be one of those things I’d remember. After trying to drag out the moment as long as we could, we started walking on our path again. Once more, we found ourselves walking up another flight of stairs. I was tired of stairs now. Over them completely. My thighs were beginning to burn and my calves were sore, my feet were beginning to hurt and my back and shoulders were killing me; mosquitoes hadn’t been kind to us this trip and small cuts on my face began to sting from sweat and god knows what else getting into them. To top it all off, I was starving. From the number of supply boxes that began to pop up from time to time, I could tell I was going to have to gear myself up for a fight. And that was all well and good, but really; how was I supposed to kick ass on an empty stomach?
“You think Asav’s guys keep first aid and snacks in their lil’ boxes?” I asked. These were the real questions.
“I thought we had sna— oh… sorry, China.” Nadine piped up, suddenly remembering that she kind of destroyed the car with the snacks inside.
“I’m still….. very upset about that by the way.”
“I’ll buy us all a big pizza after this. Sound good?” Chloe asked as the lid on the box she was picking popped open with a loud click.
“Sounds excellent.” I groaned as the three of us stood over the box, looking around inside. There wasn’t much but a few boxes and clips of ammo, a spare Arrowhead A3c, a Type 95, and a couple of C-4.
“Well, we might be in for a fight. Load up if you need to.” Nadine said, reaching for the 95, letting the weight settle in her small, bruised hands. I sighed and nodded, picking up the Arrowhead.
“I reckon this’ll all be over soon, yeah? I mean in a couple of hours we’ll save Sam, beat Asav— get the disc back, find the Tusk, get outta here n’ get paid, right?” I asked, cocking the gun and admiring the sleekness of it.
“That’s a rather optimistic way of looking at things, love.” Chloe cooed, pinching my cheek lightly.
“Not likely to be that easy.” Nadine said, curtly. I rolled my eyes and made a face. There was no room for The Bright Side with her. She obviously just couldn’t help but to be so brusque. But it wasn’t completely her fault. I figured it had to do with her militant upbringing.
“Way to boost morale, Ross.” I smiled with sarcasm, patting her on the bicep with a wink. With that, we started our way through the ruins again, ready to take on anything that would stand in the way between us and this Tusk.

I have not been writing a ton atm, doing all the october prompts wiped me out but I have some small things to share!!
Very small sneak peak at a Charmeine third bday fic that's in the works bc it's comin up soon 🥺💕
John had been counting down the minutes, unable to sleep due to his excitement. It was ten minutes to midnight, ten minutes until Charmeine's third birthday. The toddler was tucked in between Dean and himself, currently curled against Dean with one of her small hands clutching onto a handful of his hair. John gently petted her head, her light brown hair soft as silk under his palm. He could barely believe it had been three years, it still felt like they brought her home for the first time a week ago.
Well, she was much bigger than she was then, he remembers when he was able to tuck her small body against him with one arm. Not that he held her like that often, she'd been a wriggly one since she took her first breath and two arms were always advised when carrying her. Not everyone took that advisery under consideration, Jacob had constantly given John grey hairs with how haphazardly he carried his niece.
More of the single dad au, this time with a fun lil conversation about mortuary work bc I was watching a lot of playthroughs of the mortuarys assistant
Caleb laughs as Dean flops down on the couch, stretching out and resting his back over Caleb's legs. He lets out a dramatic sigh of content as he gets comfortable, Caleb trying to hold back his giggling as he bats at his dad's side.
"Is it just me or did the couch get bumpier?" Dean asks, eyebrows pulled tight together as he shimmies in place. Caleb rolls his eyes as Dean grins, playfully nudging Caleb's stomach with his elbow.
"Dad!" Caleb groans half heartedly, the grin on his face giving him away as he swats Dean's arm away. Dean chuckles and rests his arms down, opening his mouth to say something when the sound of quick footsteps interrupts. Charmeine jumps up and bodyslams on top of him before he can get a word out; earning a loud burst of laughter from Caleb.
"Oomf—hello sweetie," Dean coughs as Charmeine clambers up on him, sitting on his stomach and holding her hands up. Dean lifts his hands up and allows Charmeine to play a one sided game of paddy cake as she beams down at him.
"Daddy, do you want to hear what I learned today?"
"Of course I do angel, what did you learn?"
"Annie's daddy makes dead people pretty for funerals," Charmeine relays, continuing slapping Dean's hands and clapping along to a tune in her head. Caleb makes a sound akin to a scoff as both he and Dean look at her with their mouths fallen open in shock.
"Oh... Delightful!" Dean says after a moment of silence, glancing at Caleb who just shakes his head in disbelief.
"She says she gets to put makeup on them." Charmeine adds and Caleb repeats the sound he made before much less subtly.
"Is that allowed?" He asks, looking down at Dean who squints up at the ceiling in thought, before pursing his lips and shrugging gently.
And as always I have art wips coming out the wazoo, have a sneak peak at the 3 most recent ones <3

In my mind I am eloquent; I can climb intricate scaffolds of words to reach the highest cathedral ceilings and paint my thoughts. But when I open my mouth, everything collapses.

When you meet Riley Goldstein, a picturesque childhood in a picturesque suburbia in Virginia is not what you would expect and yet it was exactly what she had. Born on the cusp of summer and fall, Rachel and Christopher were over the moon to have their daughter, Riley Hayes, born on August 31, 2000. Finally, a child to complete the perfect family unit. Maybe they had hoped for a boy despite what science said ( hence the name Riley & a full name for a boy they had prepared ) but, they had a daughter and for the first ten years of her life they pampered her greatly. Trips to the coast every summer to visit his side of the family where Riley was praised for being such a pretty, good girl, and what seemed like infinite love from her father was doled out as long as she was what he wanted her to be. The younger girl was cooperative, it was in her nature it seemed, because she loved seeing her parents happy with each other. As long as Riley stayed within the lines, stayed within Christopher’s lines at least, everything would be well. Even when Riley started to develop a few habits and interests that were off the wall, he brushed them aside as childhood obsessions. Never could he accept his family for what they were which is exactly why he left.
The ugly truth was, Riley was an accident and the picture painted had been a lie – not that Riley knew until then. While she knew they had gotten married young she’d never known how much exactly her mother had given up to be with her father. Rachel Hayes had left her family, forsaken her religion ( as Christopher was a very religious Christian man ), and moved from New York City into this suburbia all with the promise of a family. When Christopher left right before Riley entered middle school, Riley was forced to grow up and pick up the pieces of a broken lost woman who simply couldn’t find herself in the rubble that was the aftermath of her father leaving.
As it was, Riley lived in a shitty town, full of shitty close minded people, full of shitty stores besides the 7/11 that had the best slushies and there were many days she just felt like total shit. She did her best to not stand out and she didn’t, she was a bit of a loner in school because at a young age she learned people left -- you could only rely on your own company to get you by. Riley became in engrossed in books, poetry, online communities, she became hungry for a life outside of her town but had no clue how to get there. When the time came to apply to colleges, she freaked out and decided that she was going to take a year off. Her self esteem couldn’t currently handle the rejections from colleges she had dreamed of attending ( though, Riley would’ve gotten in to a few had she tried -- that was the problem -- Riley didn’t often try out of fear ). For a year, she’d work, she’d be involved in her temple hours away in Bethesda when she got the chance, she’d live her life one day at a time while she figured out what to do with her life. She wasn’t special, she didn’t have any skills -- or so she thought.
Why was Riley picked for Gallagher Academy? She was never the brightest at her school ( at least her grades didn’t show it, though her perfect SAT scores did ), she was never the most athletic ( despite going on runs everyday ), she was never the best at anything but there she was -- at college for people who were all gifted. Truthfully, she’s overwhelmed, she’s cautious, she’s scared, but sometimes she looks around and maybe thinks this might’ve been where she was meant to be. Riley is the perfect spy because she knows how to be invisible, she watches people, when she’s not trying to drown her brain in alcohol, weed or cigarettes, she’s sharp and is able to point out trends, her journals and diaries full of notes about people, how they tick, their little quirks, her observations. You’re able to forget she’s there and she’s able handle herself in high stress situations when it comes down to it. Gallagher Academy saw a girl who COULD reach her potential but didn’t know how, they saw a nobody with barely any family or friends who they could mold, they saw a girl who needed the right push to be someone great. Her biggest hurdle? How she sees herself, how she views the world and her place in it.

You promised to come back. Chapter 6 [Sam Drake/OC]
Pairings: Sam Drake x oc/reader
Warnings: Umm, Reference to sex, cursing, minor violence, maybe some NSFW? I don’t know. (I haven’t write so much to know all the practical things, sorry)
Chapter 1 - Chapter 2 - Chapter 3 - Chapter 4 - Chapter 5 - Chapter 6 - Chapter 7 - Chapter 8 - Chapter 9 - Chapter 10 - Chapter 11 - Epilogue
Chapter 6 - Truth about past.
I was hugging Sam. I never imagine I could do that ever again. I have dreamt of it so many times, and now when I felt his warm body under my cheek, I was sure I was only imagine it. But no. He truly was alive.
I withdrew from the hug and stepped away from him. I looked down on my feets and wondered what I should say. Maybe he wanted to hear about Jonathan? Maybe he wanted to see a picture of him?
“What is his name?” Sam asked.
“Jonathan.” I answered and continued while placing my hand on my back pockets of my jeans:
“Jonathan Samuel Carter.” I heard him chuckled
“So you named him after me?”
I raised my head on looked at him and gave him a little smile.
“Well that was the right thing to do.”
There was a quiet knock on the door before it got open and Nate peaked inside. “Did you killed each other?” He teased. Sam and I chuckled and Nate stepped inside.
“I umm.. I just wanted to come to sleep in my room.” He said. I nodded and looked down at my feets.
“Sam, you wanna see pictures of your son? ” I asked without raising my head on the floor.
“Yeah. Sure.” He answered, slightly nervous. I started to walk in the door, when I was next to Nate I raised my head and looked at him. He looked me back and raised his hand on my shoulder. I smiled and started to head my room.
Sam followed me to my room. I went to grab my phone and started to roll my pictures to choose the best picture of Jonathan. Sam closed the door behind him and sat on the edge of the bed. I locked my screen and walked to sit next to him.
“Are you ready?” I asked. Sam was quiet. I looked how his hands were shaking. He stared in front of him.
“I don’t know. What, what if he doesn’t want to see me?” He asked with a shrill voice. I turned my head to my phone. I knew there was no way that Jonathan didn’t want to know his father, but of course, there was a chance. Fifteen years was a long time.
Sam sighed. He grabbed his cigarette pack from his pocket and stood up. I looked after him as he walked to the window and opened it. His hands were shaking as he lightened his cigarette and took a huge drag before letting all of the air from his lungs out.
I stood up and crossed my hands over my chest and took couple steps closer to him.
“He’s a good kid.” I said and I stopped.
Sam turned to look at me.
“He got great grades on school. He has lots of friends and he’s the best swinger in the world.” I said and smiled while looking past Sam out of the window. I saw how he nodded while he took another drag from his cig.
“I bet you raised him good.” He said.
“Oscar helped me. He took care of us.” I said quietly.
“He probably hates me. He didn’t like me that much back then either.” Sam said and I smelled the cigarette coming inside of the room, and I grinned.
“Well. Yeah.” I manage to say.
“He actually was engaged but the girl left him because she thought that Oscar was too attached to us. She didn’t understand our connection that well. She was an only child.” I told Sam. I didn’t know why I told that. Maybe I wanted him to know how much Oscar has supported me.
“I know how much you mean to each other. And I’m happy he was by your side. When I wasn’t.” He said.
“If there hasn’t been my brother, or I was waiting for Jonathan I won’t probably be here right now.” I turn to look Sam.
“It was really hard to get over you. It took months that the nightmares stopped. I needed to go to the hospital often, to make sure my stress and sorrow won’t affect the baby. But he was strong. Oscar was there with me in the delivery room. He was so beautiful. And he looked just like you.” I smiled and Sam turned his hazel eyes to me. I looked deep into his eyes and I saw Jonathan in them. Just like I had seen Sam in Jonathan’s eyes for the last fourteen years.
“He even has your eyes.” I whispered. I saw how Sam’s eyes got wet, he lowered his face to my hand where I was holding my phone. He opened his mouth to say something, but he closed it.
I took my phone and unlocked the screen. I chose the picture of Jonathan for couple weeks back. I handed the phone to Sam screen downside, and he slowly reached and took it. He hesitated and closed his eyes while he raised his hand and turned the phone. He opened his eyes and his pupils widened. I smiled. I loved how he reacted. He took his hand with a cig on it and rubbed his jaw.
A small tear started to fall down on his cheek.
“He’s beautiful.” he whispered.
“God I can’t believe how much he looked like me.” Sam said and took another drag from his cig. “Must have been really rough to you.” He said and gave me the phone back.
“Yeah. It was. ” I said and walked to the table and placed my phone down. I took a moment, I didn’t want to talk about how hard it was. It was all in the past. Sam was alive now, and Jonathan got a change to meet his father. I had given Jonathan last picture of Sam what I had taken before he left to Panama. Jonathan kept it under his pillow, hoping he would see his father in his dreams and that he would protect him. Now Jonathan got finally chance to see his father with his own eyes, not only in his dreams.
Guys gave me a ride to Scotland, where they were about to continue their search. I headed home from Scotland after spending a night in the hotel to clear my head a little. On the flight to Scotland Nate told me he was sorry for not telling me, he thought it would be the best to see it myself, that if he told me, I would think he was just hallucinating or something. And that’s what probably would have happened.
On the flight home, I got the time to think how I tell Jonathan all of this. That his father is alive. I had sent Oscar a fast email, but he wanted to hear everything face to face.
I stepped out of the plane. I walked to the luggage strap when I saw my brother standing there. I rushed my steps and I felt how my tears were bursting out of my eyes. He opened his arms and I fell deep into his arms and wept on his shirt. He patted my head and kissed my hair and we stand there for minutes just hugging. Then he pushed me away and wiped my tears.
He didn’t say anything, just took my hand and grabbed my bag and started to take me outside. We got in the car and he started to drive. I felt so small in the front seat of the car.
“Is he at school?” I asked and Oscar nodded.
“We have a couple of hours before he comes back home.” He said. I sighed. I was scared. How on earth I was going to tell Jonathan that his father was alive?
I felt a hand on my knee and I looked at it. Oscar squeezed my leg and tried to make me. I looked at him and thanked him. I saw a little smile on his lips.
Oscar made some coffee while I took a shower. I let the pressure of water hit me on my shoulders. I let my tears fade with the water drops.
When I got dressed I went to the kitchen where Oscar was sitting with the cups on the table. He stood up and got the coffee pot and poured it to both of us. I sat on the chair and grabbed the cup and put milk in it and took a sip. Oscar sat another side of the table.
“Okay, tell me everything.”
I sighed. Where would I start?
“So, we were in the Rossi Estate waiting for Nate. I noticed the cross was going to sell first and headed to Sully to tell him. He said that they are not gonna like it. I had no idea that there were going to be one more. Sully didn’t manage to tell me before the window got opened and Nate crawled inside. In a moment I saw Sam standing there, alive, breathing in front of me.” I stopped and wiped tear out of my eye corner. Oscar waited.
I told him about everything. About Rafe and Nadine, how we needed to run out of there in a bullet storm. How Sam heard me talking to Jonathan and assumed me to talking someone I was with. How I rushed Nate’s room and Sam heard me saying he has a son. How he understands that we had moved on, and if we chose that we won’t want him to be part of our lives, he’ll stay out of it. How he reacted when I show him the picture of Jonathan.
Oscar listened to me quietly, pouring us more coffee when our cups were empty. He didn’t say anything. He listened what I told him.
When I was finished he just stared out of the window and I saw how he was fighting to let his rage come out. And I waited. When I saw that the red faded away from his face and he turned to look at me I knew he was alright.
“How you hanging here sis?” Oscar asked. I shook my head. I had no idea what to think about all of this. My head was messed up.
“I don’t know.” I answered.
“I tried my hardest not to let my scars ripped open. It took too long to heal them.”
“So you don’t want him back?” He asked. God how I hoped he wouldn’t ask that.
My heart started to race in my chest.
“I can’t do that.” I said while I shook my head, and it was the truth. Oscar nodded.
“It has been fifteen years Oscar. I found peace. I got over him. Nothing is same anymore. Even though I hoped he was alive, I never imagine he would actually be alive. It was just a dream. And now this is a nightmare.”
I wiped another tear from my cheek.
“If Jonathan wanted his father to be part of his life, we could work on that. But I can’t get back together with him. No.” I shook my head again.
“It couldn’t work anymore.”
Oscar looked his hands on the table and was thinking. Then he raised his head to me and said: “It hurt me when I saw you when we thought he passed. I was really scared. I wasn’t that scared when you were in a coma. I remember how you screamed when you slept and I calmed you down for months. It was heartbreaking. I tried my best to support you.”
I smiled at him. He had always been by my side. If there hasn’t been Oscar, or Jonathan I had probably done myself something.
“And when Jonathan was born, I thought it would get easier. You could transfer your good feelings to him. Love him, not mourn Sam. It took time, and I saw how you slowly started to feel better.”
Tears fell down my cheeks and I saw that Oscar’s eyes were wet too.
“When you met Peter, I was happy. I saw how you glowed. I knew that he could never replace Sam, but I saw how you finally manage to love again. ”
Peter. I met him at the gym six years after Sam passed. He was a fireman. We dated three years. He was gentle, kind and came along very well with Jonathan. He was the reason Jonathan started to play baseball, which he loves now. Then one night when we were at the party, he was drunk and slapped me on my cheek when we were arguing. He has never ever before been abusive, and he was really sorry but I told that I couldn’t stand violence because I had been in an abusive relationship when I was a teenager, and I didn’t want to take the risk it would happen again in front of Jonathan. We broke up, sometimes he calls me and asks how we’re doing.
Oscar was furious when he heard. He was ready to beat Peter but I told him to let it be. That it was one time and we immediately broke up.
“I’m just glad he didn’t do that in front of Jonathan.” I said.
“How do you think Jonathan would react that his father is alive?” Oscar asked. I had no idea. He hadn’t asked about his father for a long time.
“I’ll guess we find out it soon.” I answered.
We heard keys on the door and I winched. I looked to the hall and waited for Jonathan to step in sight. When I saw his brown hair and eyes peeked to the kitchen I started to cry.
“What’s wrong?” He asked and I heard the worry in his voice. I stood up from the table and rushed to hug him. He was confused.
“Mom what’s wrong?” He asked and hugged me back.
I  withdrew from the hug and took his head my palms and just looked at him.
“I just missed you so much.” And kissed him on the forehead. He giggled. How I missed that giggle. In a moment Oscar coughed and I turned to look at him. He told me with his eyes that it was time to tell him. I looked on the floor and Oscar said to Jonathan:
“Sit. We need to talk.” And took one of the chairs from under the table. I felt how Jonathan squeezed my hand. I looked at him and I saw his scared eyes peering into my eyes. I smiled and walked him to the table, made him sit down before get to sit.
“What’s going on?” Jonathan asked with a shrill voice. He was so scared, he had no idea what I was going to tell him. I had no idea how he’s going to react. I took his hand and tried to find a way to tell him. He squeezed my hand and tried to get me an eye-contact. I rose my eyes and looked into his eyes. I saw Sam in them. I sighed.
“Your father is alive.” I said. I didn’t know how else I could say it. I saw how his pupils widened then slowly returned back. I felt how his hand started to shake. I saw how his eyes get wet. He turned to look his uncle before he turned back to me.
“My father. Is alive?” He asked. I nodded. He turned his face to the table and I saw how all the feelings went rollercoaster in his head. He tried to understand what I just told him.
When he had internalized the information, he turned to me and looked at me.
“Tell me everything.” I touched his cheek and smoothed it and gave him a little smile.
And I told him everything. From Henry Avery’s treasure, the truth about Sam’s assumed death and everything that happened for the last couple of days.
He listened intently. I wasn’t sure if he could manage all of the information I was giving to him. Even though he had been mature compared his age. This was a huge thing. He got finally chance to see his father. Maybe, if they just found the treasure and pays Sam’s debt to Alcazar.
When I was finished, I waited. It felt like forever him to say something. Then he looked at me and said: “ You need to go help him.” I leaned back in the chair and my eyes got wide open. What? I shook my head and didn’t manage to say anything before he continued:
“You have to go. And you need to tell Elena all of this. She deserves to know the truth about us.”  I lowed my face. I had forgotten about Elena. She thought that Nate was in Malaysia. And I told her I got a little vacation to Europe, and I’ll be back to Jonathan’s baseball final. I was stunned. How on earth my fourteen-year-old son was so mature. I smiled at him and gave him a hug.
Couple days later, after Jonathan’s big baseball final, which they won, I called Elena and asked if I could come to visit. She welcomed me and said she actually wanted to talk with me. I had a bad feeling in my gut.
When I knocked her door, I was nervous. How on earth I was going to tell her that Nate has a brother? A Brother who was assumed to be dead for the last fifteen years. Brother, who was once the love of my life, and a father of my child. When Elena opened the door I saw in her eyes that there was something going on. I stepped inside and we headed to the living room. We sat on the couch and I took a pillow in my lap.
She sat next to me and sighed. I waited. I panicked.
“I don’t think Nate is in Malaysia.” She finally said. My heart jumped into my throat. I swallowed and wonder what should I say. She turned to me and asked:
“Where is he?” I avoided her look. She knew that I knew something. I took better stand on the couch, lifting my legs up and grossing them.
“Okay.” I pushed all the air out of my lungs. Here goes nothing.
“I’m not Nate’s cousin.” She looked shocked. I was sure she had a slight thought that Jonathan was Nate’s son.
“Nate has a brother. Who assumed to die fifteen years ago. And he is Jonathan’s father.” I swallowed again and tried to moisten my throat. It felled like I had a dessert in it. Elena turned her face and I saw how she was about to burst into tears. I closed my eyes before I continued.
“Sam’s death left us a huge hole, Nate never wanted to talk about him. He couldn’t face me and Jonathan, he was too hurt of his brother’s death.”
“Where is he?” She interrupted me and raised her hand to make me shut up and just told where her husband was.
“Last time I heard they were heading to Madagascar,” I told her. She stood up and placed her hands on her hair. She couldn’t believe what she has just heard.
“Would you come with me? ” She finally asked me. I pulled my lungs full of air and pushed them all out while nodding at her. She headed to the kitchen where her laptop was.
“I’ll call you and tell when our flight leaves.”
