y/n had never had an amazing relationship with her mom, per se. she was overbearing and strict, and she would project her insecurities onto y/n from a young age. that’s why she was shaking with nerves while she waited for her parents to come meet her and michael at a restaurant 

“if she says anything wildly inappropriate, i’m so sorry in advance, she’s just-�� michael shook his head, holding her hand in his while looking down at her with soft eyes and a smile

“i can handle some criticism, if that’s what you’re expecting” she tilted her head slightly with a nod, and michael took it as a sign that the criticism he could be getting tonight would be less like what he received on the ice and more like a dissection of everything he did wrong tonight explained in detail right to his face

he had been scrolling through his phone when he felt her tense beside him, and he looked up to see a short haired woman and a tall bald man beside the table they had been sitting at.

there was no greeting before who he’d assumed was y/n’s mother went “it’s a bit rude of you both to have already ordered your drink. don’t you think you could have waited in the car so we could all get equal service?”

y/n shoved her head in both of her hands and he grabbed her hand under the table again when she had taken her arms down, then he smiled politely at her parents, ignoring the comment.

while everyone waited for the food to come out, michael, y/n and her dad all caught up and got to know each other, and the basis of what michael was learning was that y/n’s dad was a saint, and that her mother was not actually interested in meeting him, only watching him.

when the food came out, the server called for his meal first, a chicken burger with various toppings. before he could even think of signalling that it was his, her mother spoke up for the first time since her original comment

“that’s me, but i wanted the side salad, not a fry and i wanted mayo and onion with no tomato. god how hard can it be to write down an order” michael cleared his throat, and y/n glared at her mom

“jesus, mom. it’s mikey’s, not yours. sorry, honey, that's for him” she smiled politely to the waitress and he did as well, helping out by taking the plate from her so she didn’t have to reach.

her mom scoffed, and seemed satisfied enough when her plate was placed down and it was all correct.

when everyone was done, they began chatting again, save for her mom, and when the bill came out, michael offered to pay. 

“are you trying to buy my acceptance, michael? i’m well capable of-” she was cut off by y/n, who had dropped her phone on the table and sucked her teeth angrily in order to get her mom’s attention

“holy shit, mom. he’s trying to be nice! i’ve had a long day, this is one of his only nights off this week, and frankly, nobody wants to spend their free time hearing you bitch and complain about nothing. this night could not have gone better. the service, the food, michael is great. so for once in your life you need to stop picking apart everything so that you can find a reason to be a raging bitch”

her mom just looked at her with her mouth agape, her dad had a small smile, and michael just placed his hand on her thigh. he put enough cash on the table for the full bill and a generous tip before sliding out of the booth and guiding y/n to come with him. 

“bye, dad. thank you for coming” her dad nodded slightly, waving goodbye to michael and he made quick work of walking y/n out of the restaurant.

“it’s hot when you talk back” y/n smiled at the comment, biting her lip.

“this parking lot’s pretty empty and you have a really nice backseat…” he raised an eyebrow, grinning from ear to ear as he helped her into the back of his car.

he had her jeans unbuttoned in record time, and she was trying at the buttons of his shirt

“ah ah, don’t go thinking you can do whatever you want just cause i said that attitude of yours was hot, it won’t go over so well this time around” she giggled, placing herself in his lap and continuing to untie his shirt regardless 

“oh, yeah?” he smirked 

“yeah.”

Week Seven - Hometowns

A trip to Denmark would be incredible. So many sights to see and it would be such a cool experience to travel there with him. It seems like it would be a nice and intimate time with Freddie and his family.

He's such a family guy, it's undeniable.

An understandable situation. I've only been prospecting like 30 guys over the last few episodes. I'd be cold towards me too LOL

We come full circle to night one. I'd never hurt you, Ross. You're too pretty to be hurt by someone like me.

Week Eight - One on One Dates

I was on tv before this? Damn, I'm going to need to know how that happened.

I can confirm I'd be in love with at least 2 of the final 4 LOL So yes, I'd be very confused

Week Nine - Fantasy Suites

And it brings us to the final two. My 1st hockey love TJ Oshie - the very reason I write hockey rpf and my newest hockey love Vince Dunn. Kind of poetic, isn't it?

The Finale

DAMN, this would make my heart hurt. You know Vince is on the verge of tears while reading that letter. It would not be an easy decision to reject his proposal... and you know... at the reunion special... might be one of those I chose the wrong guy situations LOL Because it was all adding up to look like it was going to be Vince before that moment.

Maybe I’m a Prodigy

A/N: I know I haven’t written in a good minute but I hope you like this one. I will try to write more but life has been stressful lately of course. Happy reading! 

Summary: You just started dating Jamie and you let him know you’ve never played hockey so he tries to teach you. 

Word Count: 817

*3rd Date with Jamie* 

You sat at the bar table with Jamie at his favorite restaurant. You both Joked and talked about life. It was only your third date with Jamie but your conversations just came so easily. Jamie had been so shy on your first date, and you had been so nervous but halfway through you felt so relaxed being with him and you couldn’t wait for the next one. Now that you were on the third date you felt like you had already been together for a while. 

“When I started watching hockey I honestly wanted to try it but I was already turning 25 so it seemed a little late,” you said. 

“I’ll teach you,” Jamie offered “I mean you are dating a hockey player who only has everything hockey related at his disposal.”

“I would love that. Who knows maybe I’m a prodigy,” you joked. 

“Oh yeah? Should I be on the lookout for you trying to take my job?” 

“You just might Jamie, you just might. Now playing for the Dallas Stars Jamie Benn’s girlfriend Y/N. She replaced Jamie cause she was just so much better than him and she only started playing three days ago,” you mimicked an announcer's voice.” 

“Well, then I guess that’s a challenge.” 

*Your very next date*

“I know you said you’ve never played before so I figured this would be a good date. See how much of a prodigy you are,” Jamie joked. 

“Don’t be mad if I am a prodigy. I’m warning you, I might just take your job.” 

Jamie suggested that you put on some of the gear and not all of it cause it could weight you down. He helped you put on everything and made sure the skates were on right. He even took pictures of you all done up you both laughed at how you thought you looked like the stay puff marshmallow man. One you started walking Jamies laughing got even louder, but you couldn’t help but waddle the damn pants were so damn big. You felt ridiculous but so far you were having a good time. That was until you go to the ice and immediately fell on your ass. 

“Glad I had so padding to cushion the fall,” you laughed as Jamie helped you back up.

“When was the last time you even skated on ice?” 

“Uh, well, I think when I was visiting my grandparent’s one summer. So, when I was 13?” you guessed. 

 “And how did you do back then?” 

“I fell a lot for about the first 30 minutes and then I was able to skate backward after the first hour.” 

“So once you figured it out you were good. Well, let’s get you started with skating first and then maybe pick up a stick.” 

Since it had been a while it took you a while to balance on just a blade but you eventually got the hang of it and started skating faster and faster. This, however, did not stop Jamie from dying laughing every time you fell, but he was there immediately to help you up. Once you were felling more confident Jamie showed you how to hold the stick and to shoot a puck. You completely missed the goal for what felt like the first 100 shots, but when you finally made you made a big show, celly and all. 

“Told you I was a prodigy,” you exclaimed. 

“Oh yeah totally, I terrified of you stealing my job,” Jamie said sarcastically. 

“As you should be. It’ll be me and Segs as the dynamic duo from now on. We’ll even have our own special handshake.” 

Jamie Laughed, “Is that so? I’d really hate to lose my friend like that, but if you guys make the better team I guess I got to let it happen.” He skated over to you and lifted your chin to look in your eyes. “So long as I get to keep you as my girlfriend though.” 

“Of course, you’ll be up there wearing my jersey with all the other WAGS.” 

“I’ll even cheer for you when you drop the gloves” 

“Yeah? Will you kiss it make it all better when I get a black eye too?” 

“Obviously. Only the best care for my badass girlfriend whose just defending her teammates.” 

“I men someone had to defend Bish. How about when I bring home the Stanley Cup?” 

“I’ll be there to cheer you on the entire time.” 

“Good cause those are all the thing’s I plan to do for you. I’ll let you keep your job for now. I’d hate to show you up like that.” 

“Thank you for your generosity.” He chuckled. He leaned down and gave you a soft kiss on your lips. 

“Can I get out of this now? I don’t know how you guys were this for nearly three hours.” 

“Yeah, let’s get you changed.”
