Into, Across and Beyond! Cast: Trip the Sungazer Lizard

WARNING!: Unmarked spoilers ahead for the endgame of Sonic Superstars. Click off this post now if you don't want to be spoiled.

"I may still be new to the whole deal with heroics, but I want to do good for my friends, and all creatures great and small around me!"

Trip the Sungazer is a young inhabitant of the North Star Islands in Dimension MULTI-2023. She had lived on the islands for a long time, and is the sole remaining Sungazer to be present in there.

When Fang the Hunter was patrolling the islands on Eggman's order, he found her as she attempted to stop him, while she was donning her signature armour. However, the armour caused her clumsiness to take hold, causing her to fail and be forcefully usurped as a member of Eggman's army.

She trailed along with Eggman and Fang into some ancient ruins, trying her utmost best to be of use to them. However, her clumsiness either caused her trouble or disrupted one of her co-workers, which constantly got Fang's ire or got him or her tricked by one of their own traps.

It all came to a head when her and Fang's attempt to catch Sonic led her to fall down a trap and wind up stuck in Lagoon City Zone's depths, all alone and frightened for herself. Fortunately, Amy, who was exploring those same depths, arrived in good time to offer comfort and escort Trip back out. She even gave her new friend an apple she found, fully accenting them as true friends.

It was later at Golden Capital Zone when she got in the way of Fang to stop him from getting the Chaos Emeralds, but when he proved he was nothing but a heartless jerk towards her, she finally shed her armour, revealing that she was through with getting pushed around. She then used the Chaos Emeralds to become a huge dragon and trash the mech Fang planned to use against her and Team Sonic.

She still proved shy around people she hadn't met, keeping her helmet handy to hide her face if needed. Though, with Amy's support, she quickly warmed to her new companions, firmly ready to help save the day. And so, she joined Team Sonic to take down Eggman's new space station, and became a lot braver from it. She even helped seal the mythical Black Dragon into a special gem while Super Sonic wore it down.

About a week later, she set out on her own adventure, pestered by both Fang and Eggman's remaining Eggrobos. Fang especially was really angry towards Trip for helping foil his plans, and she was ready to get much-needed payback on him for treating her like garbage.

During the climatic battle, at an early point of Into the Sonicverse, she and Fang were pulled through separate portals into the action; Trip to where the Blur Gang were, and Fang to the ragtag team of villains planning to conquer the Sonic multiverse.

Trip trailed along with her new companions while helping fend off these combined threats and aiming to get back to her friends back home. And she definitely succeeded with the second half of that plan, with her being welcomed back with open arms.

However, a problem soon arose; the reveal of Dr. Finitevus's true plan to erase universes for his own gain, something even most of the villains serving under him had big issues with. This meant the Superstars universe was erased permanently in the crossfire, but thankfully, Team Sonic, Trip, Superstars Eggman, the Blur Gang and many critters all escaped in time, though the young sungazer felt disheartened at the loss of her old home.

She was able to regain her stride, though, being able to stop Finitevus and finish what she started with Fang. Since then, the Superstars crew have lived at Dimension EV-2019 (my universe), as a non-timeline-damaging version of the classic crew. Trip since became a permanent member of the Blur Gang, while Superstars Amy opted to further help out as part of the Quill Society, mainly to clean up some loose ends she couldn't do a while back...

One more thing I can say about Trip for now. Ever since the events of Superstars, her heart's swaying between Amy, Tails and Mighty from her universe. She's indebted to Amy's help and marvels at Tails's bravery, while Mighty had given her gifts, though she's been really shy about the thoughts of romance and hasn't been able to go any further than them being besties for now.

"I think so. Maybe he should drink some water after that as well. I'm sure it left a bad taste in his mouth in more ways than one..."

"I hope Klonoa doesn't take this lose too hard..."

"Hey, don't worry, Terry! If I know that pipsqueak well, he always bounces back from things way tougher than this. He'll be fine."

"You think the amount of customers will increase with these fliers distributed?"

"I'm positive it will. There are many in the Multiverse who love flowers..."

*Grabs a flier with her mouth and waddles through a dimensional gateway.*

"...Goober just went through a dimensional rift. Should we be concerned?"

"No need to worry, Cosmo. Goober tends to wander through them and comes right back seconds afterwards."

On cue, Goober returns through another dimensional gateway, this time with some company.

"See? What'd I tell you?"

"But who's that with her?"

The stranger walked up to Flower Shop, timidly holding up the flier.

"Um... I received this from the brown amphibian... I would like to buy some flowers... Do you accept rings?"

Background: The timid sungazer who helped Sonic defeat Eggman, Fang, and the Black Dragon. After the events, things have been a bit peaceful at home for a bit. Then one day, a strange brown amphibian creature (Goober the Clodsire) cam out of a dimensional rift and gave her a flier to a flower shop before waddling back into the portal, Trip following soon after.

Upon meeting everyone at the flower shop and understanding that they were part of a group who are trying to protect the multiverse, Trip decided she would help. She would come and visit whenever she had the time and fight against the villains on Slur's team, or when things are calm, help out with the Flower Shop.

Trip was amazed of all the dimensional variants she has met of people she knew in her own world. There was a Sonic who is not only older than the one she knew, but is apparently a prince and wields a key-shaped sword. Then there was Mr. Tinker, who is Dr. Eggman, but turned good. Trip remembered how she once wanted Eggman, as well as Fang, to like her and be more friendly towards her, and now a different Eggman is actually being so kind to her.

Speaking of Fang, upon meeting Gantz (Guntz), she's reminded of Fang, only this one is nicer. He can still be a jerk sometimes, but he was far nicer than Fang will ever be, and she appreciated that.

Being a shy girl herself, Trip formed a special bond with Elise (From Gunvolt), who was also cripplingly shy until Luna helped her become braver and more confident.

Being reminded of Lilac and Milla rolled into one, being a sweet girl while also being something of a dragon, Torque also formed a bond with Trip while telling her stories of his adventure with Lilac, Carol, and Milla. These stories help inspire Trip to become even braver.

Since Prince Sonic carries the Chaos Emeralds with him similar to how Blaze carries the Sol Emeralds, Trip can rely on her Super Form whenever she needs it. Although, she tries not to rely on the Golden Dragon form all the time and tries to improve her own strength with the of her new friends as well as the friends she has back home like Amy.

Speaking of Amy, she's completely mortified that someone like Rosy the Rascal (@fallen-symphony) exists. She's like a twisted version of her best friend that utterly terrifies her. She's also a bit sympathetic of Scourge who has to deal with her everyday.

Trip may not be here all the time, but when she can be, she's a big help to the team.
