In Which Shuttershot Made A Friend

(Time to give my other OCs some spotlight!)

Ever since Dimlit had discovered the Supermarket bots, the message spread across the Mall.

Shuttershot knew of the news just now through reading the excited bots' lips as they chattered off.

He sighed in frustration on being the last one to know of this. (But then again, he barely interacted with bots and never went out of the janitor's closet since no one even bothered to listen or understand him) He was intrigued by the news nonetheless.

Shuttershot went out and decided to give a visit. To list all the bots there. To ask them questions. To learn more about them. 'Maybe who knows, they might be less of ignorant a##holes than the Mall', he half-jokingly signed to himself as he journeyed to the tunnel entrance.

He went in the tunnels that both parties had built. Once he got on the other side, a cheery used receipt paper greeted him at the entrance.

There's warmth and kindness in her smile. He was surprised at the sudden appearance. She waved and greeted. As soon as she opened her mouth, Shuttershot was ready to read her lips like he always did with bots who aren't aware that he could not hear. "Hello! Welcome to the supermarket! It's nice to meet you!" she seems to say.

Shuttershot place his servo on the side of his forehead and then move it outwards away from his body. 'Hello.'

He signed carefully and slowly. 'My name is Shuttershot.'

She gasped and Shuttershot took a step back in confusion. Did he do something wrong? He thought frantically.

The bot talked as she signed. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you! I was just surprised that you used sign language like someone back at my place. My name's Rollcall from the Shoprunners!"

Shuttershot looked at her in awe and in shock. For the first time ever, Shuttershot smiled with excitement. He then signed quickly and then pointed to himself. 'You can understand me?'

"Of course!" She replied with a nod as she signed. "I can understand you!"

Shuttershot signed rapidly and could not stop grinning. 'There's someone who uses sign language like me?' 'Are there other bots who can't hear?' 'Are there others who can understand too?'

Rollcall was taken aback by his servos moving rapidly in enthusiasm. She giggled as she signed. "Yes, it's Mr./Mx. Sleet Starch from the Freezie Folks. No, they can hear he just doesn't talk. And yes! Everyone in the Supermarket can understand sign language! Oh-! Oh! Hahaha.."

Shuttershot's servos stopped midway as he realized he overwhelmed her. He looked down on the floor and formed an apology.

Rollcall tapped his shoulder and Shuttershot raised his helm. "You don't have to apologize for asking many questions! Besides, you're excited to meet someone Mr. Shuttershot!" She signed as she smiled patiently. "Tell you what? I can show you around the place. I can list out ALL of the bots here."

The last one seemed to piqued Shuttershot's interest. He smiled as he signed with a flat servo, palm facing towards his face with his fingertips starting at the chin, and the servo arcing out from the chin towards Rollcall. 'Thank you.'

Rollcall grinned as she waved her servo. "You're welcome!"

Daredevil aka Ryder Horntail was wearing a dark red suit and was impatiently waiting for Fest to arrive at the Bossbot banquet

Doodle dump for my new OC, shutter shot!

I've been a brony for 7 years but I never made an OC! I wanted to change that. Shutter shot is a unicorn who's special talent is photography! I really love her, shes been fun to doodle and draw

That is a final boss, not the final boss! The robot formerly known as Vengeance: www.deviantart.com/professorfa… gets an upgrade too.

He's a bit of a tough one to colour since his armour is supposed to be gold but hopefully you get the idea. One thing I always tried to do with this character was give him a 'manic' look on his face. It always seemed to be a struggle, but this eye design seems to work for it.

As an ungraded version of Replay, it would have been easy to give him some sort of super-powerful, high definition video gun, but I didn't want to dilute Replay's unique features if I could help it.*

His gun does take the rough idea of the Shuttershot one step further, but with a different execution. There is a reason why the gun is shaped like a dragon, but it's based in the character design history, rather than an in-universe reason.

Finally his emblem. In the past Vengeance had a sickle shaped emblem. It was meant to be reminiscent of a scythe, but the sickle shape worked better as an icon. When he became Rereplay: www.deviantart.com/professorfa… it became a moon (linking it to Replay's star) but now that the star is also gone, I had to come up with something else. This one here has two meanings. On one hand it's a pitchfork, making the sinister demon connection, on the other hand it's a crown, making the superiority connection.

*It's something that narks me in fiction - iterating on a character so many times that the original starts to look boring by comparison (ie: Mario, Metaknight)

I’m massively into photography not because I like to create but because it reminds me how beautiful the world is when I’m only seeing grey. I took this, this last weekend. Beautiful time spent with my kids. I know life is awesome, even if I don’t see it all the time. hey, sorry for the total lack of activity here the past few days! personal shit (college stuff, mood drop, writer’s block) has been holding me back a little but i’m going to try and work on stuff today for sure! i’ll probably be going with the ‘keep finished replies in drafts until later’ method again bc i just want to work at my own pace but, regardless, i’ll be trying to make a dent in my draft count. i also want to try and focus on @swordslashing today as well so,,,,hey,,,follow pain in the arse kael’s dad :^)

Shuttershot is a vintage polaroid camera that lurks around the Mall mostly on the janitor's closet. He makes a list of all the botbots residing there and has pictures of them (with permission of course) to keep track on who's who and who was scanned out or not.

He has conspiracy theories about a monster lurking around the Mall taking other bots but the rest don't believe him thinking that they have been scanned out. But his proof says otherwise.. If only bots listen to him and have the patience to understand him since he had hard of hearing.. (He created a device that alerts him if there are noises from the humans.)

His personality is a serious and straightforward bot who takes no nonsense. He can be sassy and have dry humor with his signings but overall he's understanding and willing to help out find the missing bots or any missing items lost.

i’ve worked out the new backstory for @shuttershots and i feel like it’s pretty fuckin solid (if i do say so myself asdfghgf) so i’m pretty hyped but then...i realise i gotta write the bloody thing up...anyw, good news is that the blog will be ready soon and i pulled something together quicker than i expected! >:^) i’m so ready to finally write an organised version of koji for the first time in years.
