Here are some of my thoughts and theories about Shutline. It will contain spoilers so just a heads up. I’m gonna go ahead and tag @daintyaura who was the one who asked me to talk about this.

There is a lot about Grens Heim to start. I didn’t realize I had so much to say about this poor dummy until I started typing, but I’m just rolling with it. 😂

*Some spoilers ahead*

The lastest chapter (chapter 85) is mostly about Gren. Thankfully Gren is getting help for his addiction which is great, we love recovery in this house. But I have concerns about him because his attachment to Shin is going to lead them both to trouble. When that counselor (or whoever she was) told Gren that his strength comes from his brother and that he’d be able to quit using because he loves Shin I started to feel uneasy about Gren’s reaction.

He’s got a real warped sense of what love is because of his childhood, and everything that happened while he was in prison. He doesn’t seem to understand that there can be different types of love and I have a feeling that he’s going to misunderstand the love he has for Shin as something else (I really hope I’m wrong about this) because the only person who ever showed Gren that they care about him, genuinely, was Shin.

When Gren first showed up and he was clinging to Shin in that apartment I could tell that he was lowkey obsessed. And, in my opinion, this obsession doesn’t stem from a place of romance, it stems from Gren’s craving for safety and familiarity. Gren and Shin faced a lot of the same things, but Shin’s response to it was different because he was older and he was able to protect himself. Gren was younger and he couldn’t really protect himself, especially after he got separated from Shin. Shin talks about how he was able to shut down and block a lot of it out. But to me it seems like Gren feels everything, and from what I can tell this guy has really big and overwhelming emotions. Gren wasn’t able to shut everything out like Shin did so he turned to drugs when his overwhelming emotions and trauma got the best of him of him in prison.

Now he’s getting sober, he’s having to face all the feelings he’s been forcing himself not to feel. He’s definitely going to get swept up in his feelings and he’s gonna pull Shin back into him. As much as Shin likes to act like he’s hard and he doesn’t care the truth is Shin does care. He cares about Jake. That’s why he’s so pissed about the fact that Jake has been lying to him this entire time. He cares about everyone at the shop, that’s why he’s left so he wouldn’t put them in any danger. And he also really cares about Gren, that’s why Shin was trying to scare him straight that night Gren shot Jake. That’s also why he’s pushed Gren to get sober and stay sober. Ultimately Shin is gonna go and meet Gren.

We already know Troutface (I refuse to use his actual name) is keeping tabs on Gren. When, not if, Shin goes to meet Gren undoubtedly Troutturd or his goons are gonna be there. That fish faced bassturd (pun 100% intended) is pissed because he thinks Shin played him for a fool. He thinks that Jake Shin and Gren are all in cahoots. So he’s probably hoping that if he can get Shin via Gren then he can also lure out Jake.

I think that whatever Troutbrain has planned is gonna be a catalyst for the Jake and Shin reunion we’ve all been waiting for. But it’s not gonna go the way Troutstink thinks it will. And even though Jake is a meticulous planner and very good at executing those meticulous plans I don’t think it’s gonna go the way he wants it to either. There are too many key characters involved. The stakes are too high. Jake has been working to pull down an entire gang operation from the inside. Troutboy unraveling and out for blood. Plus we’ve got 3 people (possibly more than that if we include the LumpSpark crew and Shin’s friend) that are likely targets. There is no way they all make it out unscathed. I don’t want any of them to die but it’s not looking good.

For anime it's MIGNON and Hyperventilation.

And for BL it's the Sign, I came in late to the party and I fell fast and I fell heard! ( Phaya's quads have me in a chokehold )
