Coming back to those ear pieces again, I wonder if it also translates the languages from each respective player to the stream as well.
Because we *know* that BllkTV is streaming their interactions Big Brother style, and that is one of the more “exclusive perks” that the streaming service has to offer (other than the matches itself and Ego’s promise about the creating a) newest U20 Japan team and b) the world’s best striker).
But considering the panels and shots of the audience also watching the stream being implied to be all over the globe, not just Japanese audiences, I can’t help but also wonder when will that shoe drop on the BlueLockers. Like they already have the pressure to perform because all of the largest soccer clubs are watching and bidding on them, and after the U20 arc we’ve seen how they were experiencing the “mild” amount of fame they gained from the experience (not enough to get in their heads but juuuuust enough to get enjoyment from it)… so when what will happen to them after NEL? After their every waking moment aside from using the washrooms has been streamed to the globe?
More importantly, DOES THE MIKAGE TRANSLATORS ALLOW FOR SIMULTANEOUS STREAMS???
DOES THIS MEAN THAT IF SOMEONE STUDYING ITALIAN AND IS A SOCCER NERD BASED IN JAPAN WANTS TO WATCH THIS, THEY JUST GET THE ITALIAN DUB INSTEAD OF JAPANESE??
**DO VPNS OFFER REGION-BASED DUBS WHEN IT COMES TO BLUELOCK TV????**

Actually regarding that last post by @miyamiwu I just reblogged, something thats been rotating in my head is how “easy” it’s been for Isagi lately…
As much as I really dislike saying it, but I think that might be the point. Just copying without understanding the how was never Isagi’s style until this particular match, but narratively this feels like the calm before the storm for his character. We’ve seen him take L after L before finally making a breakthrough, and the current successes might actually be just that; he’s setting himself up for failure without realizing it because of how everything is flowing for him.
Isagi *needs* to forget his roots at this moment, because how else would he realize it’s his methodical thinking and comprehension on how to improve that led him to his victories? It was also his humble attitude to his victims i mean Rivals off the field that lends him to being even more captivating to his rivals. I also don’t think it’s a coincidence that Isagi has been getting more media coverage, and fame really can mess with your head (especially if you never knew to handle it).
Him forgetting and being too full of himself would continue to take his character forward, because now he’s gotta produce results All The Time. Thus leading to him actually grapple with to how in a capitalist society the moment you don’t perform you’re discarded; something that everyone else in Blue Lock are acutely aware of (and at times already disillusioned by it hi personal nemesis aiku) but still keep playing because they have no other choice.
Anyway, I wanna say let the author cook, but at the same time I get how frustrating it is and I think Isagi needs to take the biggest L yet. As enrichment.

The other day I was trying to bond with one of my campers by talking about things he enjoys (so that he’d do one of the drawing activities in our art camp) and the topic of video games came up; he tells me that he likes coding, and that he and his parent are making a game. Being familiar with a few languages/kid-friendly resources on learning how to code (and just enthusiastic about games and art) I ask him what game are they making and if there’s a language they’re using.
He proudly declared that they’re using genAI to do the code, and they’re making Pong.
He didn’t care about *how* the code worked or even how to try it in other ways, just that it did because the AI did it. And I dunno, something about how kids these don’t really care about the how at their age, when that’s arguably the age where they’d care… just kinda hurts.
To give context to why it hurts: I learned how to code using Scratch.mit by my teacher in grade 7 in our school’s very first programming club, where they showed me how to program Pong using Scratch and later Java Script. I was fascinated by how I could make shapes and pictures move, which in turn fuelled my love for animation and solidified my career goal to be an animator and later storyboard artist.
I may have taken this job as an art camp leader just to earn *something* while I hunt down more storyboard positions in an increasingly narrow market, but I worry that this is a litmus test on where things are headed as genAI becomes even more shoved down our throats, and there are even less kid-friendly and kid-safe spaces online.

Shoutout to my partner going “NOW KISS” every time Bachira and Isagi interact on screen, even if they’re standing beside each other

Haven’t been blogging much because I’ve been an art camp counsellor for the past few days! Kids are weird, and funny, and very silly, and EXTREMELY hard to handle in a group… but 1-on-1 or 2-on-1 its WAY more manageable!

I recently watched Crimson Peak for a film study on gothic horror romance for a personal project, and man Mia Wasikowska’s agent must’ve gone sicko mode to get ALL the mid-2010s goth girl roles

Someone sent me a tiktok of a hypothetical where Laios falls into the world of Undertale and he immediately eats Flowey and now I have Thoughts™️ so here’s an AU if Laios *did* enter the Underground.
Putting this all under read more because even if no one can see my posts including reblogs, I still care about post length dammit (also it’s super rambly)
First off, this would probably take place as an offshoot from the main story, where Laios accidentally slips through one of the dungeon floors while scouting ahead and lands into the Underground.
Encountering Flowey, Laios wouldn’t eat him *immediately*, because Laios is first and foremost A Yapper A Scientist when it comes to his hyper fixations. First thing Laios would do is ask so many questions about Flowey and his role in the natural ecosystem that Flowey WISHES he would just shut up. He would be sickened (but curious) re: eating monsters but since no one’s ever done it in his loops… Flowey would be curious enough and would “recommend” some monsters for Laios to try (he Insists on avoiding Toriel tho, Asriel still loves his mom). Laios wouldn’t be too suspicious about Flowey’s motivations (if anything he’d be glad to have run into a talking flower that has sentience) and would go ahead in exploring.
The Ruins are the closest thing to “the dungeon” Laios could make of, and would thus act accordingly. If/when engaged in combat, he would start swinging as is his experience, though he would take the time to marvel at how “cute” they are and add them to his monster compendium/journal. It’s through these combat moments does he see that monsters here turn into dust Immediately after being killed, and rationalize that this “part of the dungeon” is unique in that magic doesn’t work the same as all other dungeons he’s aware of (“I wonder if Falin or Marcielle knew about this when studying magic?”).
Meeting Toriel would play the same… Kinda. Right off the bat she’d be taken aback by “such a tall human child” (“actually I’m a Tall man…”) and would be equally confused by Laios’ compendium. We know Laois can be a bit blunt and a bit dense at times, but we also have seen that he can be respectful, and given that Flowey already warned about her, Laois is overall pretty polite to her. On the other hand, Toriel is has no experience with adult humans and she could see certain autistic traits in Laios being similar to Chara’s, so she would be kiiinda projecting onto him. She'll still give him the rundown on how combat works, and the prospect of sparing monsters would have Laios over the moon; finally, a way to learn about monsters without needed unnecessary bloodshed or dust shed or whatever! He *does* ask if it’s possible to eat monsters, but rather than get disturbed, Toriel laughs it off and states that “Monsters aren’t edible, my silly tall child! We turn into dust the moment we die!” (Laios is beginning to think she isn’t taking him seriously). She does bake him a pie, and when he opens up about Falin and his party while eating does she realize that this “poor tall human child-man” (“just Tall man, ma’am…”) is simply lost. She doesn’t quite plead for Laios to stay with her, since he’s frankly too big for the children’s bedroom but that can be fixed, but they still have that battle to see if he’s truly capable of handling himself. Laios would be fascinated by her “magic”, but ultimately practises what she taught him, thus sparing her. What injuries she sustained do turn into dust, which solidifies it to Laios that possibility most-if not all- monsters here do turn to dust. She’d give him her wishes (“stay safe, my tall child” “It’s Tall ma- y’know what, never mind”) and off Laios goes to the next stop!
Flowey would low-key goad him for “being so stupid” to try to eat monsters like food, which he Regrets nigh instantly because Laios spent the next 3 hours going over the types of monsters he’s eaten in the dungeon, complete with recipes.
Laios wouldn’t immediately cotton to Sans; the whoopie cushion prank doesn’t quite land with him, and considering Laios just got out of a high-adrenaline situation without any cooldown time, it’s a surprise that he didn’t try to behead the skeleton. Still, he appreciates the otherwise cordial behaviour and begrudgingly plays along with his “prank” on Papyrus. Ironically It’s Papyrus who Laios find the most frustrating; his loud voice and constant boasts mixed with the numerous “deadly” contraptions that Laios effortlessly gets through is a bit much for him (even if they’re more similar than they realize). Nonetheless, Papyrus genuinely likes Laios and constantly tries to “convince” Laios to befriend him. It’s only when Sans gently asks Laios to spend some time with his brother because of how lonely Papyrus can be (and Laios knows what it’s like to be lonely), does Laios begrudgingly go on the “date” (“it’s just for today, okay?” “HUMAN, WE ARE BONDED FOR LIFE!” “Ugh…”).
The “Kobolds” of Snowden leave a great impression on Laios; if he didn’t already have the low-key desire to be a Kobold, the dog guards would absolutely spark it. He’s especially fond of “Dustraag” Greater Dog, for obvious reasons.
Exploring Snowden is a treat for Laios; it reminds him of his village, only it’s populated by monsters and is much more accommodating to him. While he’s no longer actively trying to eat monsters, he instead explores how monster society works, and his impressed by how similar they are to his own world. Being a natural foodie, Laios tries every single food that is available in the Underground, and gets a notebook dedicated to the various foods he tries (along with recipes, if possible).
If Laios had to pick his favourite location, it would be Waterfall. It’s cool air and the soothing sounds of water flowing through the cracks are so peaceful, and the few residents allows for Laios to finally decompress and take stock on the situation. The Echo flowers have been an exciting addition to Laios’ notes (and they’re crunchy like water chestnuts!), and talking to old man (turtle?) Gerson about the relationship between humans and monsters is especially eye opening. Temmie village, on the other hand, is both heaven for Laios’ fascination of unconventional monsters but is also sensory HELL. He does take pity on Shopkeeper Tem and pays for her college! Too bad it’s actually dead treasure bugs that aren’t of the same currency as the Underground BUT SHHHHH IT STILL COUNTS
Undyne is Exactly the kind of humanoid-monster Laios would be Incredibly hyped for, and Undyne loves a good challenge (read: human to beat the shit out of without feeling bad). While it’s not a fight to the death, the two do end up near death by the end of it, and throughout the fight all the way to Hotland is nothing but banter and battle information exchange. YES IM PROPOSING THAT LAIOS AND UNDYNE WOULD BE FRIENDS The coincidence that Papyrus and Undyne are close friends and coworkers is a bit disappointing to Laios and Papyrus finding out that they’re friends would be Elated, which would lead to more hijinks with the trio, at least until Laios finally heads off to explore the Core on his own.
Quick note: LAIOS WOULD BUY OUT MUFFET’S BAKE SALE AND THATS A HILL I WILL DIE ON. EVEN IF ITS JUST REGULAR SPIDERS AND NOT MONSTER SPIDERS
Alpys and Laios would get along pretty okay, but not like, besties or anything. Theyd be content to do their own thing especially since they don’t have much in common (and Alpys trying to help Laios through the puzzles in Hotland wasn’t really needed thanks to the frog skin he’s been carrying this entire time) (how it survived Hotland without drying up is a mystery). If we were to assume that Laios is now locked into the neutral end because of his actions, then it stands to reason that his and Alphys’ bond doesn’t grow beyond “assistance provider”. However, Laios’ pestering questions on how a monster like Alphys could possibly survive with just ramen and not bugs and worms and other reptilian diets would earn a slap to the face and SEVERAL vague-tweets for the rest of the game (with maybe Alphys actually *trying* a bug a la “How to eat fried worms”, but I can’t see her doing that). It does make the puzzles to the CORE much harder, as well as his encounters with Mettaton the more challenging. Speaking of-
Mettaton is TOO MUCH for Laios; his glittery pop-star persona and dedication to always be camera-ready is both confusing and random for Laios, though he is game to play along just to satiate his curiosity on what does “monster entertainment” look like. Given how ‘modern’ Undertale is in contrast to Dunmeshi’s High Fantasy, there’s too many things like cameras and TV presence that Laios genuinely cannot compute (ha) and finds both restrictive and unnerving. Trying to keep up with him and also answer questions and also do fetch quests and OH WHOOPS THERES A BOMB NOW?? would be so overstimulating, I can’t imagine Laios being able to do well nor to be as collected as he normally would be given a stressful situation. Still, his random facts about monsters from his world, his physical training, and general rizz-less-circling-back-to-peak-rizz demeanour does reach the high ratings Metatton wanted so he’s free from that “nightmare”.
Exploring the old kingdom with subjects telling Laios about what happened to the first human and to Asriel… yeah no Laios wouldn’t piece together what was happening until the end of the “game” when he’s finally on his way back to his Dungeon. Not for lack of trying, it’s just not a priority for him (it’s Eat monster(?), study monster, go home to tell party about monsters, figure out what was going on)
Asgore and Laios is a tricky dynamic to figure out; on one hand, Asgore’s royalty and I’m not sure how Laios would react to that, but on the other hand, we as the audience know how goofy Asgore really is but it’s unclear if he may show that to an adult human. Triply so if it’s an adult human who people have mentioned is interested in eating monsters with Asgore’s baggage against humans who killed his sons even if Laios hasn’t been that successful because all of the ones he’s killed turn to dust before even preparing them, not to mention how hard it is to preserve a dead monster as one guy. I think they wouldn’t have any dynamic as such, just focus on the battle at hand, with Asgore being particularly on edge and taking any speck of dust on Laios as a threat. Since it’s a combat situation and this something familiar to Laios, I can see him being able to fight calmly like he normally would, just now with what he’s learned from this journey’s battle system. When he does finally beat Asgore and spare his life, Laios does admit to wanting to try to eat monsters here, but they all immediately turn to dust so he’d be unsuccessful anyway. For what it’s worth, Laios would actually be very happy to experience their lives and learn from them so much, even if they feel too much like the people of his world rather than the monsters of his world. I don’t know if Asgore would accept this, but I suppose anyone would be appreciative(?) that their mortal enemy no longer sees you as food and spares your and your subjects’ lives. Either way Asgore shows him the door and Laios almost breaks through without needing to use his mana when Flowey swoops in for the Neutral End boss fight.
The only monster Laios successfully cooks and eats is Photoshop Flowey. No further elaboration is needed.
And with that, Laios finally makes his way back to his dungeon! Too bad all of it was just a dream, because he wakes up in the middle of the day with Chilchuk kicking his side awake and Isutzumi bapping his face to see if he’s actually dead.
No one believes him about what he had experienced, but he does have that cellphone Toriel gave him, and sees all the phone logs and messages. He became quite the urban legend there, with Papyrus proudly declaring how his “BESTEST SOUL PARTNER” bravely saved the King, monster kids being warned to be good or else “The Laios Human” will eat them up, and reddit-style forums questioning if Laios was even real to begin with. When testing out calling Undyne on the phone, Laios just gets Gaster’s tone and that’s it.
Anyway this is just a rough idea with character dynamics and barely coherent, if you’re read this whole thing, I’m so sorry.
