Actually regarding that last post by @miyamiwu I just reblogged, something thats been rotating in my head is how “easy” it’s been for Isagi lately…
As much as I really dislike saying it, but I think that might be the point. Just copying without understanding the how was never Isagi’s style until this particular match, but narratively this feels like the calm before the storm for his character. We’ve seen him take L after L before finally making a breakthrough, and the current successes might actually be just that; he’s setting himself up for failure without realizing it because of how everything is flowing for him.
Isagi *needs* to forget his roots at this moment, because how else would he realize it’s his methodical thinking and comprehension on how to improve that led him to his victories? It was also his humble attitude to his victims i mean Rivals off the field that lends him to being even more captivating to his rivals. I also don’t think it’s a coincidence that Isagi has been getting more media coverage, and fame really can mess with your head (especially if you never knew to handle it).
Him forgetting and being too full of himself would continue to take his character forward, because now he’s gotta produce results All The Time. Thus leading to him actually grapple with to how in a capitalist society the moment you don’t perform you’re discarded; something that everyone else in Blue Lock are acutely aware of (and at times already disillusioned by it hi personal nemesis aiku) but still keep playing because they have no other choice.
Anyway, I wanna say let the author cook, but at the same time I get how frustrating it is and I think Isagi needs to take the biggest L yet. As enrichment.
