Now I'm thinking of which Urusei Yatsura chapters I want to see adapted in season 2. I was really disappointed Shunmin wasn't in season 1. I'm also fond of the peach nymph chapter. And I NEED to make gifs of the cat girl ghost when she shows up (yes, I know, but still).

Minho knew the wound wasn’t deep but it still bled and blood was scandalous not forgetting about the pain, of course. His white shirt had now a big red spot that he was holding with a hand while staring at the smaller male in front of him on the door. “Baby, can you let me in?” He said with a slight smile. “It’s… Just a cut, I p-promise,” Walking was painful and he only realized that since the adrenaline on his body was back to normal levels.

It was almost midnight and he had been out all day, he felt someone following him from the subway stop to a couple blocks from Shunya’s place where he decided to start running and it was a really bad idea since two other men joined the first one and followed him to get his bag with his laptop, phone and wallet inside. “I tried to fight back My stuff was there! And my work was there!” He said with anger but hissed when he moved too much. “They heard someone else coming and couldn’t take my bag… Everything is safe.”

Dead Name: Moto (本) Satono (覚乃) Name: Moto (本) Shunmin (春眠) Age: 15 Birthday: October 13 Height: 5′11 Weight: 179 lbs.

Parents (More about them ((mostly his father)) will be talked about later) Mother: Moto Akiko (she refuses to use her husband's last name now that's he in jail and out of their life so she now goes by her maiden name Yamamoto Akiko) Father: Moto Hideyoshi (Hideyoshi: From Japanese 秀 (hide) meaning "excellent, outstanding" combined with 良 (yoshi) meaning "good, virtuous, respectable" or 吉 (yoshi) meaning "good luck". This meaning behind his name is ironic if you look at what he has done to Shunmin, which has landed him in jail for a very long time)

Quirk: Insomnia. The user drains their foe of energy until they are too tired to move. The energy then becomes the user's own. Downside of the quirk, however, is that the user of Insomnia has the condition their quirk is named after and draining energy from other things to keep running. The user can drain energy from electronics, but they have to be careful when they do this due to the fact that the electricity can hurt them. An upside of this part of the quirk is that it lets them help those who have electric based quirks. To use the quirk in fighting, the user has to make physical contact with their foe. The longer the touch lasts, the more energy the user can drain from them. The user is usually able to drain enough of their energy to make them fall asleep, but the user has to be careful they don't drain too much because if they do, it can be very dangerous for their foe and themself for that matter.

Now onto Shunmin and how he handles his quirk He had sleep problems even before his quirk had fully developed. No one really knew why a three year old would go four days without sleep, it was just how he (she at the time, he was only a kid, he didn't know he was trans until he was 12) was. No one even really knew what his quirk was until he had been in school and a kid had been yelling all morning. All Shunmin had done was grab the kid's shoulder and tell him to shut up and the kid was just slowly drained until he was out cold. Suddenly, Shunmin, a six year old who hadn't known what his quirk was for a whole year was full of the other kid's energy, barely containing himself enough to keep from quite literally bouncing off the walls (he still had a lot of energy back then even with the Insomnia quirk, he was a kid). He got in trouble for it, but he had been too excited to care. The quirk drained him as he got older now until he just couldn't sleep unless he was put under sedation, one of the biggest (and most dangerous, he's lucky he had friends and family to give him energy or he'd probably be dead; he didn't learn he could drain electronics until the Yuuei entrance exam) downsides of Insomnia. (he's not proud of it, but he'd use the quirk on his dad when he began to get too aggressive with him). Shunmin is still having a little trouble with controlling the quirk. When he's excited and grabs whoever he's talking to, he'll accidentally begin to sap away their energy, his body pulling it from the other person to make up for the energy he's rapidly losing.

NOW ONTO SOME HISTORY FOR SHUNMIN

Shunmin's mother had been supportive of his transition when he came out to his parents as trans at the age of 13. His father, however, had been outraged, threatening to disown him and throw him out on the streets. His mother had threatened to leave with him when she heard this and she ended up being the only reason he still had a home before attending Yuuei.

His father took advantage of the fact that Shunmin's mother had been out of the house and had tried to kill him when he returned home from school one day. Sadly for his father, his mother had come home before he could finish the deed and he had been taken to the hospital. There is now a nasty scar going across the front of his neck that is hidden behind the bandanna at all times.

There are bandages wrapped around his wrists are there to hide the scars he left on himself after years of abuse from his father. The only reason he is alive is because of his mother.

As soon as he learned he had been accepted into Yuuei, his father had been happy only because he was going to be living on campus now instead of in his home, saying he was glad his "disgrace of a daughter" was leaving and making Shunmin dislike him even more. His mother is the only one he ever bothers to give updates on how things at Yuuei are doing.

A student had called him by his dead name the first day at Yuuei because people had learned of it and thought he went by it. Shunmin ended up having to retreat to the bathrooms to calm himself down since he was so used to it being used out of spite towards him by his father and didn't know how to handle hearing it from a stranger.  The student had apologized later on, but Shunmin is still very cautious around them.

The bandanna that is wrapped around his neck had belonged to a friend he had when he was in middle school. Her name had been Adami and she was one of the few friends at the time since she was one of the few that accepted his transition and supported him fully. She had given him the bandanna to help hide the scar his father had left on him and she let him keep it so he could keep the scar hidden. Adami had been out later than she was supposed to be one night when she had been cornered. Adami's quirk wasn't one that was good for combat, but she had tried to fight the man. She didn't succeed, however, and Shunmin had gotten a call from her crying mother the next day and was inconsolable for weeks.

Haruki and Akihiko's Daily Chat About: In Spring One Sleeps a Sleep That Knows No Dawn*

Haruki: that's because the weather has become warm lately and so it's that moment of "in spring one sleeps a sleep that knows no dawn"*, isn't it?

Akihiko: at times like this I could sleep endlessly.

Haruki: you're right. If you're not careful you might just fall asleep.

Haruki: what, did you fall asleep?

Akihiko: nope, I'm still awake.**

Haruki: I had the same conversation with Mafuyu too recently.

Haruki: in Mafuyu's case it seems that he was awoken by Kedama.

Haruki: he said Kedama was like saying 'take me for a walk' while licking his face.

Akihiko: im awkae**

Haruki: oh, ok. Good night.

*) According to the Internet this is a phrase from an old Chinese poem translated into Japanese: "Shunmin akatsuki wo oboezu", which can also means "In spring one sleeps like log".

Akihiko texted Haruki just to tell him he's sleepy. That's a text message from a person in love, I'm telling you 🤭

**) In the original Japanese chat Akihiko first said "okiteru zo" which means "I'm awake" but then mistyped "I'm awake" the second time to "okiteyu zo" which clearly showed that he's falling asleep, and he couldn't fool Haruki that way 😆. I didn't know how to translate "okiteyu zo", so I pretended to be sleepy and tried to sleep-text and came up with that word in the translation 🤷

Haruki and Akihiko's chat is like a conversation in an 80's sitcom between a mom and a dad who are in bed and about to go to sleep but are talking about one of their kids first 😄❤️

It's hilariously endearing that Akihiko was trying to show Haruki that he was still awake and paying attention to Haruki's texts but failed 🤗 and of course Haruki is so cute talking a lot 😁
