Okay, I am LOVING this new poll feature, but I must admit, it is REALLY annoying being unable to edit them after they're posted. I know logically why (it'd be fucked up to change or cut the options if people are still voting), but GOD, with the amount of anime fans screaming at me for forgetting their precious magical girl series in a poll that I am physically incapable of going over 10 options, and technically I make it 9 so I can leave the last one for "Other," and yet they STILL yell at me on the original poll, even though I made a SECOND poll including some of those forgotten titles is a little.... 🙃 frustrating that I can't edit the original poll's caption with a big old neon sign pointing to a link saying "HERE'S THE OTHER POLL, OKAY?!"

I’m rereading Shugo Chara (it’s been years and the nostalgia I feel is immense) and I’ve got to be honest…

I think Amu and Ikuto is the funniest ship in the whole world.

Like, they just like each other. They like spending time with each other. Amu is genuinely comfortable around him until he starts flirting, then she’s mostly just kind of exasperated. All of Ikuto’s interactions with her are based on cats. He brings her food (human can not hunt for themself) and he lays on her (human is the most comfortable pillow) and he teases her (human must be kept on their toes). Like, he’s just a big ol’ cat and I love it.

But also, the manga is fucking hilarious.

When Kukai is graduating and everyone’s saying goodbye and Tadase asks “When I’m in trouble, can I talk to this picture I have of you?” When they’re all talking about what happens around springtime and Ikuto casually says “Being in heat. Because we’re cats.” and Amu’s respons is “Can he say that in this manga?” And Sensei… “Why are you still teaching here?” “I do have credentials.”

Ikuto is the funniest character. He brings cookies because he broke Amu’s tart. He brings ice cream because Utau dropped Kukai’s ice cream (and maybe Amu’s? I’m unclear) ((how did he even know that that happened? Does he have a sixth sense, “Someone just ruined my human’s meal. I have to fix this immediately.”)) He always shows up with a bag of food and just drops it on Amu, then leaves. He came here for one reason and one reason only, and it was to drop off food, bye.

My favourite part of the manga is Nadeshiko/Nagihiko. I love Amu’s comment early on “Nadeshiko changes so fast!” I love Temari, who just repeats “my kimono will get dirty.” And when they’re crawling through the vent or whatever, and Temari is crawling while still covering her face with her sleeve and says “my kimono is getting dirty.” Hilarious. I love Temari so much.

I love that Nadeshiko is Amu’s best friend. They are besties. The extra where Nagihiko breaks out of his house to spend time with Amu? Perfection. Nagihiko holding Amu’s hand, and when she points it out to him, he just goes “Oh yeah. I forgot I’m different today.” I love Nagihiko, he’s the best. The whole explanation is totally wild and honestly baffling, but I love Nagihiko and his weird ass family all the same.

I liked the show a lot as a kid, and I liked the manga even more. I think Amu and Ikuto are adorable. I think it’s funny that the characters don’t act like any elementary school students I’ve ever met (including the ones who were in elementary school with me). I like that Kukai is everyone’s favourite, and he’s just so chipper. I like Tadase’s wish being to conquer the world, and everyone agreeing to help him with it because “It’s fun :)” I especially like that Amu is consistently and constantly judging the capes.

Maybe it’s nostalgia colouring my view. Maybe I’m biased because it made me laugh a couple times. Maybe I just like Ikuto and Amu being comedic foils to each other. Whatever it may be, I really enjoy the manga. Would I recommend it? Yes. Would I recommend it if you’re going to be pissed by the age gap? No.

10-) Gaara from Naruto

Reason: He's the first antagonist i've ever rooted for, not for his plans but for his mental health. When i first saw his backstory i just wanted to riot bc damn, people really treated this boy like a monster since day one and then got surprised when he started acting like it, i just wanted him happy and at the least i got that at the end of the anime (No, i refuse to watch Boruto on principle)

9-) Tsukiyomi Ikuto from Shugo Chara

Reason: We all have our problematic shoujo male leads that we love. In my defense i watched Shugo Chara when i was 12 years old and it wasn't until later when i realized the age difference but even then i still have a soft spot for him in my heart. He and his sister suffered so much and i just want them happy, healthy and taken care of (he's also the reason why i'm into catboys now that i think abt it)

8-)Naruto Uzumaki from Naruto

Reason: He's my baby boy (not in a carnal way), i watched this boy grow up rooting for him to achieve his dreams, he's the first male protagonist i was emotionally invested in and ngl to this day i still read fix-it fics for his childhood because in my heart of hearts he deserves it (Still refusing to watch Boruto tho)

7-) Haruka Nanase from free! Iwatobi swim club

Reason: The reason is not as deep as the others i'm afraid, i genuinely loved Free! When it first came out, i was obsessed with Haru's character and the way he was as a person, he's extremely attractive and i want to crack him open like an egg and study his insides (he's also very shipable and i like that in a fictional man)

6-) Kageyama Tobio from Haikyuu

Reason: He's my awkward lil guy. I loved the way he developed as a character, from a temperamental, lonely volleyball genius to the type of guy that still uses the signature his upperclassman came up for him in high school as a pro player. I also really liked how we only got the reason why he was acting like he did in middle school only at the end of the end of the manga and how it made everything make sense in retrospect

5-) Hinamori Amu from Shugo Chara

Reason: Shugo Chara was my first magical girls anime and i still have a really soft spot for Amu in my heart. I know she's not the most well written deep characters around but i really like how she was an escape for me when i was younger. She was a pretty, popular, preteen girl who was an awkward mess and while i could only relate to the awkward mess, the fact that she got publicaly rejected by her crush and her taste in fashion i still watched her go because it felt good to see her do so

4-) Jason Todd from the Batman franchise

Reason: He's my babygirl (not always in a carnal way), this boy suffered so much in life, was happy for a few years, got brutally murdered, then brought back to suffer more. He's one of Dc's favorite punching bags and my dream is to see him happy, healthy and in therapy. Really hate how his own father won't avenge his death or let him do it himself, just fuck that clown already since you like him so much

3-) Wei Wuxian from Mdzs

Reason: I really do have a thing for red wearing, died but got better, on his second life but sluttier than ever characters. This boy deserves the world, he did do many morally reprehensible things in his time but it's all justified because i said so, he deserved his happy ending and my only complaint is that it didn't come sooner

2-) Shen Qingqiu from Scum Villain's self-saving system

Reason: This man is a whole ass clown, a walking contradiction, he's the reason why some people describe Scum Villain as a greek tragedy with clown music playing in the background. I've never seen someone so in-tune but detached from reality, bro doesn't even know his own emotions, on the inside he's a chronically online millenial on the outside he's the milfiest shizun in the Cang Qiong mountain sect and everyone knows it

1-) Kagome Higurashi from Inuyasha

Reason: This is my girl and i'll not take any criticism for it. She's a 15 years old middle schooler having to go back in time to fix a magical jewel to save japan and she's being so brave about it. She's an extremely kind person, does her best to see the good in everyone, even in people that attempted om her life before, she's a bit immature at times and has a temper but again, she's 15. She deserved better in general and because of that, and many more other reasons, that i fucking refuse to ever watch Yashahime, i just think it sucks she didn't even get to raise her daughter

Favorite Color(s): I personally love the color black, always have since I was a child. I just find it very... I dunno how to explain it exactly? It's just mesmerizing to me.

Favorite Flavor(s): I love sweet flavors, but my all time favorite flavors are anything that's sour and I mean SOUR. That extremely sour candy? My favorite. I have eaten so many sour things that I have grown immune to most sour candies. I don't pucker my lips, my eyes don't do the squinty thing, nor do they water. This is probably bad since too much sour stuff destroys your mouth, but I have a bad habit of eating sour stuff to the point the roof of my mouth and tongue are all torn up.

Favorite Genres: Horror and mystery are my two most favorite genres! I also enjoy psychological-horror and some of that really old timey adult humor. I dunno, supposed "humor" nowadays just isn't funny to me, it's pretty bland.

Favorite Music: You see, I've listened to a large assortment of music from the time I was little so I don't really know if I have a favorite music type? Though I can say that I enjoy metal music from back in the era of when my parents were growing up, same with their pop music. I also enjoy more... dark styled music too.

Favorite Movie(s): This is a hard one for me because I don't really watch movies anymore, but since I'm a big ass nerd I'll just list some video game movies/anime movies (and a few actual movies I can recall) that I've enjoyed — Sonic the Hedgehog (2020), Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022), The Super Mario Bros. I’m a multishipper and I fall into ship rabbit holes really easily; just once piece of art that’s good and I will fall like a motherfucker but I’m also weirdly picky. I don’t like certain straight ships of red green gold silver (eg red & yellow, gold & kris) but pretty much everyone else im open with anything. so uh. my first account broke and didn't show questions and messages. so I decided to just get a new one.

since I wrote almost nothing on the first account (and, most likely, I will not be active here either, except for reblogging), I will try to at least introduce myself here.

my name is lyubov, which literally means "love" in my native language. but you can call me anything, some of my friends call me "nekochant" (from my first ever nickname in internet), "rinku" (the part of my current nickname that just means "link"), "oshiri" or "zhopka" ("ass" in japanese and russian, respectively. why I have the nickname "link's ass" is a completely different story). most of the time they still call me by my actual first name. and ehhh I go by she/her.

my current fandom is fire emblem (mainly archanea, i played only fe13, fe11, fe14(birth), fe12 and fe15 in that order), even though I don't really interact with anyone (but I want to change it). my secondary fandom is miraculous. and i still have softspot for my past fandoms and gladly talk about the legend of zelda, ace attorney (mainly first trilogy and aai) or vocaloid (mainly cryptonloids and not colo/rful st/age).

I also write fanfiction. sometimes. once every couple of years. basically, I just have no ideas or I have no one to discuss them with, because in my country there are 5 people in these fandoms, including me. and I myself am very shy of my english and I'm afraid to write to anyone. my account on ao3 is NekoChanT | Archive of Our Own. there are my very old fics and I'm ashamed of almost every one. but I'm still not going to delete them so that I don't lose them later.
