The Shrek Legacy Challenge

Hello and welcome to the Shrek Legacy Challenge(reimagined) where every generation is based on a different character from the iconic and well-loved movie franchise, Shrek!  For each generation, they come with their own backstory and challenges to complete!  If you would like to give this a go, feel free to share your lovely gens with #shreklegacychallenge or #shreklegacy.  I hope you enjoy it and have fun!

Basic Rules:

Each gen needs to max out their career, aspiration, and must have skill(s) assigned to them. 

You can live in whatever world you would like (unless one is specified).  

You do not have to name the heir after the character, but you can if you would like.  This also applies to skin color.  They do not have to be green. 

Keep lifespan on normal (unless stated otherwise.) 

You do not have to do the bonus challenge if a generation has one, but you can if you would like to.

Generation One: Shrek 

You’re a lonely sim who keeps to themself and prefers to not interact with people.  You hate cleaning and the idea of filth pleases you.  But when you end up stumbling across a beautiful red head, you begin to feel things you never thought you would.

Aspiration: Fabulously filthy 

Traits: Hot headed, Freegan, Slob 

Career: Any part-time job (your sims is too lazy for a full-time job) 

Skill: Fishing 

Rules: 

You start off living in an old run down home, but after getting married you decide to give it some love 

Have 2 friends (family does not count) 

Break up an engagement and marry the love of your life 

Have 3 kids

Master the career, aspiration, and skill 

BONUS: Collect all 25 frogs in the game + be friends with 2 dust bunnies

Generation Two: Donkey 

Growing up, you were very close with your family and friends.  You love life and making people laugh.  Making jokes it something you end up pursuing and you become a famous comedian, but will that affect your love life in the long run?  And did I mention you can get very paranoid over little things in life?

Aspiration: Joke star 

Traits: Goofball, Family-oriented, Paranoid 

Career: Entertainer (comedian) 

Skill: Comedy, Charisma  

Rules: 

Reach level five celebrity status

Have one failed relationship before getting married as an adult to someone opposite of you (opposties attract like donkey and dragon) 

Have six kids (can be done with both relationships) 

Master the career, aspiration, and skill

Generation Three: Fiona 

Since you were young, you always dreamed of finding your soulmate like your parents did and enjoy reading romance novels.  When you think your find the one in high school, your parents seem to disapprove, and you break-up to be with someone more acceptable.  However, when you run into your long lost soul mate who you never thought you would see again, things change.  

Aspiration: Soulmate 

Traits: Romantic, Ambitious, Bookworm 

Career: Education (either path) 

Skill: Parenting, Research and Debate  

Rules: 

Have a close relationship with your family 

Find your soulmate as a teen, but break-up due to parents’ disapproval 

Get engaged as a young adult, break it off, and run away with your long lost soulmate to get married

Have 3 kids 

Master the career, aspiration, and skill

Generation Four: Puss in Boots 

You live a life full of adventure whether it’s seeking the unknown in Selvadorada or being the heartthrob that everyone falls for.  You are definitely one to play the field and thrive for attention.  But will having a child change your mindset on life? 

Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy 

Traits: Romantic, Adventurous, Self-absorbed 

Career: jobless - you travel to Selvadorada in search of hidden treasure 

Skill: Archeology, Handiness  

Rules: 

Date 3 sims and have a child with the last one 

Get engaged as an adult, but they ‘suspecially’ unalive before the wedding 

Get married as an elder 

Have 1 kid as a young adult 

Master the aspiration and skill

Generation Five: Fairy Godmother 

It’s never been easy finding love for you.  Constant rejection has made the idea of love seem never within reach.  After an endless amount of pain, you take matters into your own hands to make sure that those who have caused you pain also know what’s like to have their hearts crushed. 

Aspiration: Villanious Valentine 

Traits: Jealous, Evil, Noncommittal 

Career: Criminal - Boss branch 

Skill: Mischief, Logic  

Rules: 

Have 5 failed relationships (including as a teen) 

Make an ex fall in love with you again only to break their heart 

Have 1 child (do this with the your last relationship as a YA) 

Never get married 

Master the career, aspiration, and skill 

BONUS: If you want to make this gen more fun, have them become a spellcaster and become a Virtuoso ranked spellcaster.

Generation Six: Prince Charming

After watching your mother tear apart many familes, the idea of commitment is a foreign concept to you.  You thrive off the attention of others and flirt openly with anyone, not caring who it hurts.  Is there anyone out there to cure your broken heart? 

Aspiration: Seriel Romantic 

Traits: Romantic, Noncommittal, High Maintaince 

Career: Style Influencer (since Charming always cares how he looks) 

Skill: Charisma, Fitness  

Rules: 

Have 3 relationships at one time 

Get married, divorce them as an adult and remarry them again as an elder 

Have 2 children 

Switch jobs as an adult 

Live in two seperate worlds 

Master at least one of the careers, aspiration, and skill

Generation Seven: Rapunzel 

You think really highly of yourself and always want to be the best at everything you do.  You want your life to be perfect in every way and live the life you think you deserve.  But at what cost? 

Aspiration: Public Enemy 

Traits: Snob, Self-absorbed, Jealous 

Career: Secret Agent - Villain 

Skill: Mischief  

Rules: 

Marry a rich sim even if it means breaking up a relationship 

Have a secret affair 

Have 1 child 

Divorce your spouse after having your child and take all their money 

Stay single after the messy divorce 

Master the career, aspiration, and skill

Generation Eight: Gingy 

After growing up with a parent that cared more about money and themself, you decide to run away as a teen to escape your toxic parent.  Your sim wants nothing more than to finally live the life they want without anyone getting in the way.  

Aspiration: Party Animal 

Traits: Ambitious, Outgoing, Goofball 

Career: Own a bakery 

Skill: Baking, Cooking 

Rules: 

Move out as a teen (only take 10K with you) + get a part time job 

Pause lifespan and attend uni for business.  

Switch careers halfway through YA life and open a bakery (this will be your career) 

Get Married 

Have 2 children 

Master the aspiration and skill

Generation Nine: Pinocchio 

You are definitely different from your parents.  You tend to be more of an introvert, but once you find your people, opening up isn’t so scary anymore.  You’re goal in life is to be a friend to everyone because all you want is everyone to be happy.  

Aspiration: Friend of the World 

Traits: Good, Squeamish, Clumsy 

Career: Mechanical Engineer 

Skill: Handiness, Charisma 

Rules: 

Have 2 best friends 

Join the scout career as a child (must complete!) 

Fall in love with one of your best friends

Get married and have 2 children 

Master the career, aspiration, and skill

Generation Ten: Lord Farquaad 

Growing up, you always were jealous of your sibling as they were the “star” child to your parents.  Your relationship with your family was never strong, and you grew up quickly.  Wanting to prove you are the best, you strive to have a perfect life with having the fanciest house and best picture perfect lifestyle, but not everything is as it seems…

Aspiration: Mansion Baron 

Traits: Jealous, Perfectionist, Evil 

Career: Politician (politician branch) 

Skill: Research and Debate, Logic 

Rules: 

Keep a low relationship with your family 

Get engaged young + get left at the alter 

Marry a rich sim, but you are never happy 

Have 1 child 

Get divorced as an elder

Master the career, aspiration, and skill

Generation Eleven: King Arthur “Artie” 

You never had a good relationship with your parent.  They cared more about themself then you no matter how hard you tried to impress them.  So, you set out to make the most of your life, leaving your old life behind and creating new memories.  

Aspiration: Bestselling Author 

Traits: Ambitious, Creative, Bookworm 

Career: Writer (Author) 

Skill: Writing

Rules: 

Move to another world, leaving behind your old life 

Keep low relationship with parent 

Get married and have 3 kids (1 must be an adoption) 

Go on at least 2 vacations with your family 

Master the career, aspiration, and skill

Generation Twelve: Doris 

Your parents raised you to always be yourself and by being yourself, you are very tough and not afraid to let others know how you feel.  You are also someone who enjoys living life day by day without a care in the world.  

Aspiration: Master Mixologist 

Traits: Self-Assured, Ambitious, Good 

Career: Mixologist 

Skill: Mixology, Charisma, Singing 

Rules: 

Date 3 sims throughout your life 

Move in with your significant other, but never marry 

Adopt 1 kid 

Master the career, aspiration, and skill(s)
