Chapter 12: Oh dear! Parents Day at the Academy!

"REEL! REEL! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLL!!!!"

Lucia ran into the theater room holding the poster in her hand.

"Did you just- rip that off the wall-"

"Thats not the point! Why am I the lead?! I didn't even audition!!!!!"

She shoved the paper in Reel's face multiple times, causing him to knock over a pencil cup on his desk.

"Oh yeah, me and Violet made that decision." He picked up the cup and put the pens back into it.

"Whyyyyyyyy..." She hissed.

"Cuz you seemed like the best pick."

"Howwwwwwwwwwww.....?"

"Amber said you looked the closest to how she imagined the poet in her head when she wrote the script."

"This is stupiddddddddddddddddddddd......" Lucia sighed.

"You're not even supposed to be here this late anyway why are you still in class??"

"I'm goinggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg........"

"Oh giiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrlllllllllsssss~" A voice came from the water pillar.

"Ugh, what do you want Catwalk??" Lacey crossed her arms. Nicolette was reading a book, and Dominique was combing Nosferatu's feathers, much to his delight.

Catwalk skipped around in the vision, before reaching his hand out of the pillar with three pitch black ribbons in his hands.

"What the hell are these things??"

"Dark Ribbons."

"The fuck are those??"

"You put them on your wrist, to get better facades, these can obtain more wish coins, and you'll be able to take the wish coins essense without getting the actual coin, and- ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING????"

"Sorry you were getting boring." Nicolette swiped the ribbons from Catwalk's hands and put one on her wrist.

"You can go now Catwalk."

"Miss Tragedy made these herself....she looked so proud though...."

Lacey rolled her eyes, "Yeah yeah we get it." she flicked the water tower, causing it to fall down.

"I call using the ribbon first!" Lacey rushed out of the bandshell, scaring Nosferatu. Dominique comforted him.

Lucia plopped down onto her bed. She was so tired from the day that she almost didn't notice her phone go off.

Mom: I can't wait to see you tomorrow during parents day!

fuck.

"Ughhh I forgot that was tomorrow....this is gonna be a nightmare..."

Lucia walked into the courtyard, where Amber was helping Lyna with decorations for their booth, Violet was on the other side of the school near the gym, where all the athletic courses were. The sound of gravel crunched beneath her feet everytime she adjusted her heels. It wasn't really that pleasant of a sound. It was windy as hell too.

Suddenly, Lucia felt two arms grab her from behind,

"LUCIIIIII!!! AW I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!!"

"HUH?! WHAT-?!"

Amber rushed to get the woman off of Lucia, "Hey get off of her!"

Lucia looked distraught. Lyna was frozen in shock.

The woman wore a yellow floral pattern bandana around her wheat blonde hair, reddish pink lipstick, and heart sunglasses to match.

"Mom?!" Lucia stood there dumbfounded.

"Aha! I know you would see through my-" She turned to look at an imaginary camera and posed, "Foolproof disguise."

She looked ecstatic to see Lucia, she was practically jumping, and embracing her and kissing her cheeks.

"M-mom why are you here so early?!" Lucia shoved her off.

"I just couldn't wait to see my darling daughter and all her new friends! I'm so proud!"

"Ms Agissante!" Lyna rushed over, a starstruck look on her face, "Can I please have your autograph?? I'm such a huge fan!" she squealed.

"Oh of course sweetheart! Anything for a friend of my Luci!" she giggled.

"Hey Luci," Amber smirked. Lucia turned around, red as a tomato. Lyna was still fangirling over Yvette, who seemed flattered at best.

"Amber do you know when your parents are getting here?"

"I dunno. My dad said his flight got delayed."

"Oh that reminds me! I saw Violet and her moms on the way here! She's in the dance course right?"

"Mhm." Lucia sounded annoyed.

"Ah that's so great! I'm so proud of her!"

"Ma'am are you a parent of one of the students here?" Reel had gotten back with the sign for the booth, "Cuz if you're not I'm gonna have to ask you to leave-" Yvette grabbed Reel's hand and started shaking it aggressively.

"You must be the professor! Luci's told me ALL about you! Thank you so much for taking care of my daughter while she was away from us! Me and her father have missed her so much we can't even begin to say how much we appreciate it!"

"Speaking of which, where is Dad?"

"That's strange, he was right behind me befo- oh there he is! hello darling!"

"Hello sir I'm Lucia's teacher! it's a pleasure to-HOLY MOTHER OF PEARL!"

Reel turned around to greet Lucia's father but when he turned he saw the biggest, buffest man he had ever seen.

"He could snap me in half like a twig! and this guys related to Lucia?! And he's her DAD nonetheless! Lucia can barely hold up a stack of papers, this guy could lift an entire TREE-" Reel's head rushed before the man's voice snapped him out of his thoughts.

"Thanks for dealing with my daughter sir. I know she can be a lot to handle."

"No! She's an angel really." Reel squeaked. Amber and Lyna's jaws dropped so low that they were practically in hell by now.

"I should go now, I'll see you later dear," Lucia's dad kissed Yvette on the cheek and walked off, Reel's face looked white as a ghost.

"Lucia we should go look at the other booths!" her mom yanked her by the arm and dragged her away.

"Mom can we please stop this?? I really wanna get back to my friends!"

"Nonsense Lucia! I haven't seen you in forever! I want to hang out with my daughter!"

"Yeah but we've been to every booth twice already! I'm supposed to be helping everyone!"

"Lucia, would it KILL you to spend a little time with your mother?! You see your friends everyday at school you can go one day without them!"

"Well maybe I don't want to spend time with you! All you've ever done is nag at me or smother me and just be super annoying! I hate YOU-" Lucia covered her mouth with her hands, but Yvette just looked at her disappointed.

"Mom I-" Yvette slapped her hand away.

"Fine. If you don't want me to smother you so much, then I'll go."

She stormed off.

"Mom wait!" Lucia ran after her, but when she finally caught up, all she saw was her mother's body on the ground, unmoving.

"Lucia!" Reel had followed the source of the commotion.

"MOM!" Lucia ran over to Yvette's body, holding it in her arms.

"Yo!" Lacey snapped her fingers. "Let's see what this Dark Ribbon can do! Facade! Wreak your havoc!" Lacey's bracelet emitted a dark energy onto Yvette's wish coin, and she threw it at an empty stall.

"SAWWW!"

Lucia! I'm sorry I couldn't be with you as much as I wanted to! I'm an awful mother!

"I-it can speak?!" Lucia was shaking. Reel came to comfort her.

"It's my fault. It's my fault that this happened, I shouldn't have-"

Reel slapped her across the face.

"Lucia you can still save her all right?! You need to transform!"

"Right!" Lucia wiped away her tears.

"Precure, Rollback! Lights! Camera! Action!"

Luciaaa! I don't want to leave you all alone again! I don't want you to hate me anymoree!

"Mom!" Lucia lunged at the Facade, tears flying off of her cheeks, but it didn't affect the monster at all.

"Facade! Finish this girl off already! Her cries are SOOOOOO annoying!!"

The facade sent Showtime flying into the air.

"Showtime!" Reel screamed.

She landed onto the ground gracefully and pulled out her wand.

"Lacey!"

"Oh?" Lacey stared at Showtime unamused.

"Hurting people like this is unforgivable! I'll show you a real fight!"

"Showtime.................................Finale!"

The Facade withered away and the coin went back to Yvette.

"Huh-Oh!" Yvette slowly woke up as Lucia jumped on her.

"Mom I'm sorry! I'm sorry I said I hated you!" she was sobbing her eyes out.

"Lucia, it's ok..I'm sorry I smothered you so much..I just missed my baby girl so much you know?"

Lucia just kept crying and apologizing.

Reel looked at the two and felt his heart ache.

I miss my mother...

i dont know if im doing this right but this site is fun ... moodboards with no actual template are kind of hard for me so im just following a default one and trying to figure out what vibes each of them gives me without letting myself worry about the greater plot implications. i can change the story before i write it but i want the characters to be genuine to how they are in my mind so first i need to figure out what that means. the relationship chart was a lot of fun to make
