when two celebrities are in a PR relationship with one another, do they live together? Or do they live separately? Do they take pics and vids in each others houses to make it seem like they’re living together?

From what I know, if it's a PR couple, they live in different houses and they get together to do stunts to make the GP believe that they live together. Showmila is an example of that

I commented under this post that said 2021 Camila is her best era. I said that I prefer 2016 Camila (her Instagram feed and just her in general) over 2021 Camila which has mostly been PR. this bitch says "nah. she was going through a lot then" like no shit Sherlock. she's a popstar and she's 19. you prefer someone with her OCD, anxiety, depression, and an entire binge eating disorder (which I don't mind her being a little chunky I like thicker women anyway) instead of someone who had her friends and could actually interact with them and be somewhat stable...just say you're there for Shawn and move the fuck on because you're not a real Camila stan, you only like the content that the pr stunt puts out and you have no right to call yourself a stan if you do that. period.

There is so much evidence to debunk the SHOWmila narrative but there is one thing that I don't understand: Used To This. Since it's a PR relationship, how did she write a song about him?

She didn’t write a song about him. She wrote the song BEFORE all the bullshit. THEY catered the stunt to the song!!! She already recorded the song. He had an upcoming show in San Fran. Have her go with him, post that shit everywhere, then when the song comes out everyone thinks it’s about him. That simple.

It’s disappointing, albeit not surprising to see the kind of “content” Camila’s team is willing to push right now, on the heels of the teaser for her movie. Their unwillingness to switch promotional tactics, when it’s been so thoroughly shown that the “couple's” brand has failed to attract the general public’s attention, in a way that would translate into interest for their respective careers, is honestly buffing. Every major project of theirs that has been released under the pr has underperformed. Romance underperformed, his documentary underperformed, his album severely underperformed (14 weeks on the billboard 200 and not even a gold certification for either of the singles or the album 7 months after its release, is a total commercial failure and by far his worse performing album). I don’t see why Cinderella would be the exception.

Truth be told, hype for the movie is limited so far. Even in her own fandom. Of course, it’s still too early to accurately predict how the movie will do, but the response so far isn’t exactly a positive sign. They’re not trying to market her in a different way, if they think it will suddenly start working then they’re even dumber than we thought.

The image they’ve been cultivating for her these past 2 years,, is unflattering. The couple is thought of as joke by the public at large. It’s still widely acknowledged as a publicity stunt, and most of the people (that are members of the general public) that believe it’s a real relationship think they’re annoying and cringy. They’ve relentlessly pushed the pr in everyone’s faces for last 2 years now, at the cost of her career and her mental health (but hey, Roger bought himself a new mansion so it’s all good). They have done such a successful job in alienating any fan of hers, casual or a stan, that isn’t a hardcore showmila shipper. For the past year and a half her primary exposure to the public and to fans, has been through the pr. She hasn’t released any new music in 19 months, the Christmas song (which was clearly a last minute, panicked response to the poor numbers of his album) does not count. She hasn’t even been particularly active in social media, nor has she been interacting with fans (which I truly don’t blame her for considering the current state of her fandom, but her team should have taken care of that in her place.) It’s not a cute look when “she” comments on practically every post of her “boyfriend” who she has supposedly been living with for a year, but hardly bothers to engage with fans. It’s not surprising that there isn’t much active hype and interest in her career at the moment. And with her poor image and all the other preexisting versions and adaptations of the story, the lukewarm reception of the movie (so far that is) is also not surprising.

Her team has been so focused on creating headlines about her at any cost of her public image, that they’ve forgotten her brand needs to be likeable. The constant drama around her persona is exhausting to witness as a fan. In 2017-2018 it was all about her split from fifth harmony and ever since 2019 it’s been all about her joke of a relationship and a boyfriend that loses his shit over yogurt when he’s a multi millionaire and can easily afford to buy a whole yogurt shop if he really loves that stuff this much. That really needs to stop at some point and they should work on building her image around her and her music, not dumb drama and an even dumber fake boyfriend. It drives away fans, casual and not, and it makes her seem unlikable and attention seeking.

They really need to stop marketing her as reality show celeb and remember she’s an artist. They shouldn’t resort to such lowly levels of publicity for her. Her music have always been secondary to the cheap headlines her team prioritises, and that’s a real shame. And also really insulting to all of her hard work. You would think that building a solid relationship with your fans and having a likeable public persona would be obvious, but apparently not. Again, it’s disappointing but not shocking. If the movie ends up underperforming, (I really hope I’m wrong!!) they shouldn’t have the audacity to be surprised.

(Also, do they actually believe that her going on vacation literally a day or two before the teaser drops, does anything other than show that’s it’s obviously not a vacation, instead it’s a work trip? She’s been overworked to the point of being hospitalised multiple times, but now she can fuck off wherever she wants without any work schedule restrictions, right before the teaser dropped??? Makes sense.)

did you see that apparently shown proposed to camila and this will be made public soon? I know you get a lot of questions about it, but in your opinion, what do they really want from this PR? he gets all the attention he wants, he uses it for everything and still flopped, what can we expect from this circus yet? how long will we still have to put up with this? it's so tiring. ps: i sent this to @emisonme too

They could want a lot of things... things we don’t know about but maybe not so much anymore at least. I know I already said this somewhere before but in my opinion this PR  was and has always been strictly between  Roger and his label.

For starters the reason this PR has gone for as long as it has is because 2020 was fucked for pretty much everyone. Mostly one boring bland person. Who just so happen to have an album release.  Plans were obviously made beforehand in 2019, but a pandemic out-broke which nobody fucking expected because they didn’t work in a hospital where non-violent cases of it started appearing in December of 2019.

That’s why they “moved in together,”  if you can’t publicly stunt like Mattmila at concerts what’s the next big thing? Oh, right, posting on social media and get this? Living together.

I think the next thing that can be expected is a break up as they obviously won’t be together for 4 years (the max amount a PR lasts on average.) Once whatever shit is happening behind the scenes settles down and the promotion for Cinderella or her album happen I think that’ll ultimately be the last of it  and be the end of Showmila.

Everything they’ve done for Yawn Mentos has failed very badly. His bad boy image? Failure. His album? Failure. Documentary? 6/10.  Christmas Song a.k.a Senorita 2.0?  Failure. Yawn Mentis? Not a very salable or dynamic artist. There is also no growth in music, artistry, or songwriting.

 No one gives a fuck  about their relationship. I mean do you remember their performance on live television and how the crowd was not having it at all?  That is literally everyone on the whole planet at this point. Which is why I believe the very last round of promotional attempt  will be his last. 

I also read Emisonme’s response to this question and I very so much believe that what they said could be what is happening behind the scenes, but it also  has a lot to do with corona messing up everyone’s lives.

Hi, This whole thing reeks of PR. We all know shawmila was PR I don’t think we need more debunking of that nightmare that we all witnessed and C had to go through, smh. Sabrina, Idgaf about her, I don’t even listen to her music 😭.All I know she did the same thing with Olivia and some other guy and that guy came out not long after that. What annoys me is the fans of C, instead of supporting her music, they are just ready to throw hate and some of them are straight up turning against her over shony boy. Idk if you know this but months before there was a blind now of course blinds are not that reliable I know, but this one stated that two artists from Island records will use Camila to promote their upcoming albums and I think so far this is accurate af. I just know that Camila regrets signing that PR contract every fucking day.

Unlike Sabrina/Shawn/Camila, I think that the whole Olivia/Joshua/Sabrina thing was real but blown way out of proportion to increase sales, streams, and attention. For them, the narratives and timelines actually make sense, which has never been the case for Shawn/Camila. But if what you said is true, those people were never really "fans" of Camila in the first place.

Hello I wanted to know ur thoughts on a few things. Do u believe Camren are still together? As I’m finding it hard to tell they seemed to have stopped the hints they always gave us unless I’ve missed them? The other thing is this circus was it C’s decision this time if so then I gave her way too much credit or is it him again and his team? I just don’t understand why she agreed she said herself how bad her mental health was during it now seems to be doing it again anyway. I guess when I look back C did warn us about it in a way she started having bangs again which she had during the circus then she got rid as soon as it was over. She posted Tarzan a few wks ago which again she barley did once over. I’m also worried about what cc4 is gonna be as the snippet she shared I didn’t like not just bc the pr but the lyrics themselves seemed so basic and unlike her her last 2 albums they had to ruin most of it with the pr tho u could tell who the songs were really about but I fear this one will/has been written to tell a fake love story of them. so mila is apparently in miami now? lol the pr source for showmila is deuxmoi. how convenient just when he's stuff is about to get released here comes stunts in miami. la/ny was probably hard to stunt to much so back to miami. i actually got a feeling this is latergram just being released today. like their was no need for camila to travel to ny for only to show up in miami a day later. pr team is soo stupid. but then again how else will they link her shoes to the stunt and she went for him bs.

which songs in romance do you think is really about lauren?-all of em// Girl what??? I mean you do you but first man?? It doesn't say ''the only man''. It says the first man who loved her was her dad and then another man came into her life. It would be weird if it was actually written about a woman tbh. I feel like it's a baiting song for daughters to cry to. Also DOY. None of the things she sings about apply to L in any way. This is definitely a narrative song for ew. UTT too, but for Shawn.

i’ll be honest with you i forgot that first man is a song that actually exists when i answered that, but my take is that it can either easily be a very straight washed version of a situation that could have happened with camila’s family and lauren, or it could just be a PR song.

some of these songs you just have to really listen to them. you need to ignore the one liners that don’t perfectly match up to lauren’s character. it’s what closeted singers do to get away with writing about their secret lovers. no lauren isn’t a bad dancer, but she IS a shy singer on occasion, she IS an overthinker, she IS camila’s right answer, she is—you know—probably a slow kisser.

i mean, to me it doesn’t make sense that camila would be asking her publicly known boyfriend that was always with her during the duration of their relationship if he dreams of her too, because it would be assumed they were literally sleeping next to each other every night. to me it’s about a long distance relationship that has been forced into complete secrecy, and camila is looking for reassurance from this person—lauren—that she really does love her, and dreams of her just like camila does when they’re apart for long periods of time and sleeping in different beds in different cities. because camila is not with lauren every day, she spends the whole day through dreaming of her instead.

not to mention, being a confessed sinner in the presence of camila is a very gay thing to say. like. lauren wrote a whole song about giving into sin and calling herself a sinner for a woman and camila wrote a whole song with a music video about giving into sin for a woman somebody.

also, camila was working on this damn song for so long that she teased it before the beach pics of her and ew even came out, and lauren basically joined in on the teasing, especially in the last two pics.

used to this was obviously marketed to be *the* showmila song, but it’s another camren song to me. it’s one of my favourites actually. sure, maybe there are a few PR lines like the san fran one but that easily could’ve been written about an experience with lauren during one of 5h’s many times to SF and used as a showmila line by making them do a stunt there where their kiss is conveniently caught on camera.

to me used to this is about lauren and camila’s second (or third idk) try at their relationship. camila spent so much time in a state of uncertainty with lauren that had her talking to the moon, but this time—which i consider the current one—things are different and it’s something camila wants to and can get used to. i think this is evident within so many lyrics in this song. camila actually stays with lauren past midnight, and because of that she’s whispering lauren’s name differently than ever before. camila’s heart is bleeding because lauren is asking her to stay for once. camila says that her and her lover were 17 when they started to fall, but they *lost it all*. this contrasts so greatly with the rest of the song that it tells me this isn’t their first try.

camila and shawn, within their very confusing narrative, don’t have that kind of history. they never acted on their feelings in any capacity until last june/july, and they were never 17 at the same time either. used to this is about a relationship with rocky past that was more about the physical feeling than what it actually meant, but has turned over a new leaf.

I'm finally moving on from all things Shawn. I'm not gotta be those Jelena stans that ranted and raved about Justin&Hailey being a pr stunt & that they would breakup. They ended up getting married and are still together. The same thing is gonna happen with Showmila. Nevermind about #FreeShawn...we all need to free ourselves from him.

ShawMila - the ship name/friendship name (depends who you ask)

ShowMila - the publicity stunt/PR name (personally I find the name's a bit mean and have only used it to present a distinction)

Before I get started, let me make it clear that this post is not an attempt to diss Camila or Shawn. It's simply presenting a personal view point. PRs are not always under the control of the artists involved. That does NOT mean the artists are lying. It's a part of the industry and contracts that fans may not appreciate but should not blame the artists for.

Okay, here we go...

This is almost an old topic since they've been seen together for quite a while now and there have been a lot of speculations. But earlier today I came across a new video on this that I want to share at the end along with my take on the whole thing thus far. It's going to be a long post so bear with me. Or skip to the end for the video. 🤷‍♀️

Shawn and Camila have been friends forever and ever since I Know What You Did Last Summer, fans have been stanning the two. Needless to say, there are A LOT of ShawMila fans and everyone has been aching for a second collab.

The build-up started in June with us getting the first pics leaked and the promos of Señorita began full on. But when everyone saw the music video, it was a frenzy considering how close and steamy the two got. It was every stans' dream. Stans were analysing if the two actually kissed. From my perspective, that's a negative. The overlapping images seemed to be trying to create an illusion of sensuality nothing more. Though there may have been a few light brushes of the lips here and there. Moreover, Camila admitted both she and Shawn very nervous about the whole shoot and said she drank a lot wine to calm herself.

Presuming they were attracted to each other forever as fans claim, shouldn't they have been more excited than nervous to be shooting such a romantic song? Although it's reasonable for one to be more nervous kissing a friend or someone you've considered your brother the way Camila has. 🙃

That was just the start. A bunch of Shawn and Camila pictures together began making the rounds almost immediately where the two seemed to be awfully close, almost intimate, with each other. This is what made it highly suspicious. Just the timing of it all. Camila had been papped with Matthew as late as May and there was hardly any time after that when the split was announced.

Of the many photos that came out, the infamous cactus pic has to be one of the most bizarre. Shawn looks right at the pap. They know they are going to get snapped so they hang around and give the pap exactly what he could sell.

An interesting anon conversation on the blog @ashotofblues revealed that you need a permit to take pictures at a residential area. So those paps were there because they were invited to take the pictures.

On July 6th videos came out of fans asking Shawn on his tour if he's dating Camila Cabello to which he furiously shakes his head *no*.

July 13, a video of Shawn and Camila kissing in a cafe is leaked. It starts with Shawn awkwardly looking around and adjusting himself and Camila seems to ready herself and face him. And Shawn puts his arm around her and they start brushing against each other's face? To be honest, I *really* wanted to see them share a kiss but this was the most awkward two people have looked kissing each other that I've EVER seen. It felt like they had never kissed anyone in their life. I almost feel bad for them. Another odd thing about this video was that there was literally no reaction from the person capturing this rare moment. And they managed to be set up at the right place at the right time. Strange we didn't see more of that. Why did they stop recording?

Fans have tried to get Shawn Mendes to admit he's dating Camila in various ways but he simply ignores the question. In a latest video, he simply walked out of the Q&A session.

Maybe I'm different but if I was dating someone and we were caught together and he was avoiding answering questions about us, I would find that HIGHLY FISHY and almost as though he's ashamed to have been caught seen with me. But maybe that's me? Then again if I was trying to keep my relationship on the down low, I wouldn't be making out in public places to begin with. If celebs WANT to be secretive, they have people who make it possible. If they want to be spotted, their people make that possible as well.

I don't believe Shawn is that jerk of a guy to deny someone he's actually in a relationship with. The only way I can explain all of his behaviour is that this is an obvious publicity stunt but he can't exactly admit to it. That would defeat the purpose and would be in violation of his contract. Nor does he want to lie to his fans and claim he is dating Camila. At least I don't believe he would lie. It would be easier to simply ignore the question altogether. Fans will make of it whatever they will. When he said no, I believed him but his management just messed up and didn't prep him for the questions. Even when he was asked about love, he seemed flustered.

Back in January, he tweeted these specific lyrics which I found interesting.

There are other things that fans have tried to prove as signs that they are in a relationship. Him liking her posts on Instagram instantly. Do fans not realise that often the posts are not even posted by the artist themselves but they have social media managers for that sort of thing? I have never been able to like even a friend's post in a matter of seconds let alone Shawn liking them while he was supposed to be on stage.

Another was him following a jewellery account which fans tied to him buying Camila a necklace that she had apparently been wearing for a week already. PRs are MADE for fans like these. It helps both artists increase sales and currently both are the 2nd and 3rd most listened artists on Spotify.

Even though I love both as artists and genuinely ship their friendship, I find it a little hard to believe this is something other than a PR. I don't hold it against them. It's part of their contract and not in their control. However, sometimes these can be intense and affect the health of the artists involved which is why I try not to focus on it as much as their music which is why I'm a fan in the first place. Everything else is secondary.

Finally, coming to the video that motivated me to writing this post.

Do remember that they are human beings. We don't know what they are going through except what they allow us to see. Please do not use my views or views of others as a reason to harass them. If you like them, support them as artists. Because they have value beyond their relationships.
