S3 is once again killing me again with all the lore and I love it. School started up so I might be slower with my thoughts but I got episodes 92, 93, 94 and 95 to talk about!!!

MAG 92: Nothing Beside Remains

Elias makes me want to eat my phone, similar to that one guy from MAG 65 :) I was like screaming the whole time. Of course he can see everything, he literally called the police before Daisy came. I took that as "oh he has spies" but no he can see everything, I hate that. Is Jon eventually gonna get that ability or does The Eye give different gifts. Elias hasn't shown any "compellling" sort of power so I assume the latter. ALSO MORDECAI LUKAS?? I need to see a statement from a Lukas member cause what is up with that family, I'm dying.

Guess Basira is now working there. Hope Elias is paying her. the fact he won't tell Jon shit is so funny to me. So The Stranger is now, basically, the confirmed main villain. BBEG yknow? Mildly terrified, I hate circuses and mannequins so this season is gonna like body me

Not much to say on MAG 93 but whatever entity has the whole "gross shit" as its deal, I'm guessing this falls under it. Purple fungus, the obsessive cleaning, etc. Also yaaay Breekon and Hopes!! Again!11!! get out! Poor Georgie. Love her for being like "Do you even have qualifications??". Jons explanation helped me a lot because during Elias's explanations, I'm mostly just muttering curses to myself because I HATE Him. Avatars. Baller. So Jude Perry was the avatar of The Desolation (destruction, fire, etc) Michael Crew was the avatar of The Vast (sky??, emptiness, general loneliness) and then like Jon is an avatar and I'm guessing so is Elias. I think you can have more then one avatar but anyways.

MAG 94: Dead Woman Walking

Jon refereed to the entity as "The End" which, using my notes, was mentioned in Mary keys statement when gertrude asked where the book came from and Mary said "The End" and said she could never serve it, not finding death interesting. Wild that she can't feel fear anymore??? Like damn. This kinda read as someone in a depressive state in some form. Or like a nihilistic person. Cause like "everything ends, time, it has already ended". Wild.

Not much to say on MAG 95 but I did understand the context vaguely which is more then what I can say for the other war statements. Also Martin and Basira friendship??? Love it. She gets really engrossed in books. I dunno if she was like lying or this is something supernatural related but I love Basira

MAG 96: Return to Sender

Literally screeching oh my god. The fact these things just hijacked this mans business is almost funny. They also talked with a circus ringmaster. Nikola Orsinov? gregor Orsinov? A different one. the statement was given 1996 and Gregor was the leader around the 40's but Nikola, by her description I think, sounded young. So. Who was this ringmaster? Maybe Im getting the timeframe wrong. or they're like eternal. Maybe they like just shed skin and steal a new body, just going by the same last name- okay I don't know.

Also, SARAH BALDWIN???? Welcome back girl. The fact the gorilla skin was stolen by gertrude means she was trying to stop The Unknowing, and likely that's why its been this long for it to happen, because they need that skin. Ew. The Stranger loves skin a little too much. Also Sarah being filled with sawdust and cloves. Great. If Not Sasha was shot, would we have seen that? Or is it different with every one of those, NotThem.?

Anyways, I think that's everything. Every statement, I'm kinda thinking, "which entity does this fall under" now that I know the surrounding universe. Tough since I only know 6 by name and I think there's more. 6 too many entities for this world though

do you think bruce is abusive? i don't mean in the physical way they've been writing his as recently but emotionally.

it's very clear that he does love his children but some abusers do genuinely love the people they hurt and just think they are in the right (thinking of my own dad who somehow couldn't understand why we didn't want to talk to him because he always took care of us but treated our mother. badly. and in front of us when we were little kids.)

and i'm not sure whether i count bruce in that because while it doesn't look like what i'm familiar with i thought i'd ask because only recently i've actually come across people who see him as abusive but do actually see the character as he is and love it and i was wondering what you thought

sorry if i'm dumping too much on you or it isn't something you want to answer, feel free to delete/ignore, i just think the answer is more interesting from people who genuinely love and understand bruce as a character as you seem to and i've only seen it from two other people so i wondered what you thought

i don't mind answering! this is one of those asks where i wish i tagged my stuff bc i've talked about it before but my outbox tag is so populated that it takes way too long to search through lol (and unfortunately as we all know tumblr's in-blog search function is broken beyond repair). but tldr i would say bruce as he's existed for the past thirty years or so is abusive. my divergence in opinion is simply that i don't think he ever should have been made so. his more modern characterization as someone reactive and prone to lashing out at others, particularly his children, has never made sense to me and i don't think it's heavily supported by pre-crisis canon. the extent of bruce's failings as a parent should reflect his inability to communicate and his growing tendency to be a shut-in. which i know some people take to be comparable to neglect but ig i don't think it should ever go that far.. like when i say inability to communicate i don't mean him failing to take care of his kids or giving them their due attention when he's raising them but moreso falling into a pit of despair and guilt once they've reached adulthood bc he feels like he's signed their death note by enabling their lives as vigilantes. i do think parentification can potentially come into it but ideally i would want it to be nipped in the bud sooner rather than later if that makes sense. like we should've been over bruce's depressive "i'm a terrible parent and everyone i love dies so i should just do everything on my own and slowly k*ll myself in the process" episode by the early 00s at latest. and it should've been acknowledged that a large part of what drove him into that depressive episode was jason's death, so realistically being given the time and space to process jason's death and its implications properly would have allowed for bruce to seek closure and move forward and be less.. whatever he is now. to me the successive whammies of identity crisis and war games and under the hood deliberately thwarted that

To answer your question: not sure! I’d say that he just refused him for 1000th time, but Azul is surprisingly good at handling rejection from Jamil (it’s his “sure sure, keep playing hard to get” mentality). But then again, maybe Jamil really was too harsh this time…

To be honest, I can’t remember anything major… But I am very bad at remembering my own drawings, so maybe it’s just my memory thing.

Sometimes I get carried away when I write a reply and start thinking “damn this sounds fun” and then months later end up drawing it, completely forgetting that it was a hc from a list or something like that…

But also sometimes I draw a new ship and start remembering how Anon asked about this ship ages ago and I replied “nah don’t ship them” or “nothing against it but we don’t care much” back then lol I think it happened with Ace/Riddle and Trey/Vil, for example.

Also oof, good question. I feel like Ortho would definitely feel like this is how people feel about him, like they would be nice to him and all, but him being worse than Idia is such a huge elephant in the room that no one could realistically ignore. There could probably be some people in S.T.Y.X. who genuinely blame Ortho for what’s happened with their precious prodigy, but the overall consensus would probably be that this was an accident, Ortho was still very young, and that they shouldn’t blame him. This is partially because Ortho is seemingly everyone’s little sunshine, and people would probably feel bad for him.

But! Once again, Ortho would absolutely feel like they just don’t truthfully express how they really feel about him. To him it’s 100% objective truth: it should’ve been him, and everyone knows that even if they act like they don’t agree. He doesn’t have as much to offer as Idia did and he can’t achieve half of the things Idia could have…

The angst just keeps getting more and more potent huh

Epel is a very good victim for such a scenario; even know he knows that he shouldn’t do it, somehow he ends up fucking around and finding out… so the tweels could definitely play with him.  He would be a delightful little toy~

But when it comes to Azul, I feel like he would only be present if the whole thing was his idea initially + he is very interested in the victim. Otherwise to him it’s just his rabid hounds terrorizing a piece of meat to keep themselves entertained. It’s mostly their own business I think 🤔

So I made a couple of dummy stories to test something out: one was supposed to be a bunch of gifs I made before while the other is just a couple of paragraphs taken from one of my own random blog posts and a random piece of art to go with it. I left everything else empty, no summary, no characters, nada--just filed it under no fandom and creator choose not to use archive warnings and backdated it to a year, which meant under the no fandom tags, meant it was buried under thousands of other stories and posts, meaning there was no way somebody can just stumble on these two works unless they were systematically crawling through newly submitted stories (somehow?). I somehow expected the one with gifs to get a bunch of hits because that was, I was testing for--I got a suspicious amount of hits in an amount of time but the one that had not gifs somehow got three hits. It should've stayed zero. I was planning to leave it up for a month to see the results but I deleted both after about five days because of how pissed off I was. If these happened to a couple of posts that no one should be interested in, then it's probably happening to all my real stuff. It would explain the stupid spikes I sometimes or maybe other dumb stuff I keep experiencing (random subscriptions to finished works, ones that get absolutely no signs of kudos/comments/any implication an actual human read whatever was on the work.) I think that was what was pissing me off, the indication that no living soul looked at it or cared enough, those are empty, meaningless numbers (for what? a mistake caused by reloading? malicious trawling by scrapers?). It hit a raw nerve that still raw after all these months (years?).

The kudos vs hits one is just stupidly transparent a mistake. Yes, it's totally possible given twice the number of likes than the number times a work is visited.

Hello update update !!

While blogging and tagging buildinpublic I found buildspace and got obsessed with this whole competition. I think it's super cool that you can win money to continue building the thing you love to do.

What is buildspace?

Apparently it's a competition for builders to win 100k but last season they split it 4 ways(25k each). Am I cool with the fact that they last minute switched?

part of me thinks it's cool and gives people more chances to win

but the other part that is more of a planner and hates change thinks well you should've written that in the beginning and should've stuck with your og plan But watching the season finale on youtube made me think maybe I have a chance? Although most of the projects that won weren't apps and if it was a developer it was a game. So it appears to me that it's more supportive of being a creative than it is to support indie hackers.

But what I found really cool is a lot of members who were building apps were actually becoming profitable. And I guess if you became profitable thanks to buildspace than do you even really need the money?

So that's what I am excited for in this buildspace competition.

Finding out how to really market my app so maybe one day it can be something profitable and I can finally earn the badge of indie hacker.💃🏻 But I've only applied and haven't gotten accepted into the competition and I don't know if everyone get's accepted 😅 But yeah I need to figure out how people even gain an audience blah da blah da blah

UPDATES ON MY ACTUAL APP: made the tables in SQL made alterations to my script in python ( I was getting duplicates, I forgot to add a table) oh and i am still getting duplicates when a concert name has a hyphen and I am currently at a loss as to how to fix this minor bug but whatever I guess I will figure that out one day.

yeah so mostly backend data stuff

oh and made the artists page responsive

and working on the backend in C# to bring the data to the frontend which is how i found out I forgot to add the data to one table through my python app 😅😅 oops haha

OH AND BIGGEST UPDATE I GOT MYSELF A LIKKLE WANNABE HACKER LOOK AT WHAT I FOUND IN MY DYNAMODB AMONGST MY EMAIL SUBSCRIBERS FOR FANALARM.CA

You really loved Annabeth's eyes, but at this moment you realy wish she'd advert them. Your hands were sweating and your heart was beating so hard you were sure she could hear it. If she did, she ignored it and continued to theorize about the people roaming around Central Park, making guesses about their lives. You fumbled in your coat pocket, trying to fish out the velvet box without causing her to look over at, but you managed to drop it on the ground.

She was faster than you and managed to pick it up, opening it with a quizzical brow. As the lid popped open, you could've sworn you nearly fainted. This was so not planned. She blinked at an abnormal rate, picking up the ring and slipping it on her finger with a hint of a smile.

"About time you asked, L/n" she spoke, leaning into your side and chuckling when she heard the heavy thump of your heart.

You swore under your breath, she wasn't supposed to eat the ring! You were regretting every life decision you had at that moment, specificlly the moment where you thought it was a good idea to propose via food. You should've never put your trust in a beignet to begin with.

Thankfully she paused, pulling the small silver ring out her mouth quickly. She sighed and laid it on the table and continue to eat, making your heart lurch in pain. You stuttered, "D-Do you not like it?"

She looked up shocked and eyed the ring with wide eyes, "That's from you?" You nodded meekly and she broke out into a smile, "I thought that was from my curse! I knew it was rather odd." You sighed in relief, "So...?"

"Of course!"

"Oh shit!" she yelped, scaring you and Leo who sat a few seats away. You blinked and chuckled at her reaction, holding the ring out between your fingers, "Damn, do you hate the idea that much?"

She smacked your arm slightly, earning another laugh from you, "Dude you can't just spring something like this on me? What if I choked?" She laid her fork down on the table, reaching out towards the ring, slipping it on without question.

Leo scooted over next to Piper, eyes searching for whatever made her yell like that. His eyes scanned until the shiny glint residing on Piper's fourth finger caught his eye, "Oh shit!"

You weren't sure how you managed to keep your plan from Reyna this entire time, but the closer the day got, the more nervous you were. Considering how nervous you were, you began to slip up and make your deciet more noticable. Reyna doesn't like dishonestly and to feel that energy coming from you made her very uneasy.

When she finally confronted you about it, you couldn't forma. proper sentence, instead just shoving the ring on her finger with a dumb, yet worried smile. She squinted her eyes at the band on her finger now, relief washing over her that you were just trying to surprise her. She brought you in for a hug, "You're so bad at keeping secrets, mi corazón."
