You know when you see a scene in a show or a movie or a YouTube video or something where there's that whole I love you no matter what and I'm here for you and I'll always accept you and you can talk to me shit and I'm just sitting here trying to cry quietly because it's sweet and all and I'm happy for them and I feel like I'm being a horrible person for complaining but I realise I just don't have that. Like, sure, I have friends who're accepting and shit but I know I'm very replaceable and no one really notices when I hide in the bathroom at lunch anymore and it hurts so much more when it's a family member, especially a parent, especially a fucking parent. Like "Hey mum, I'm queer." and she'll hug them and tell them that they're loved. I went out with one of my friends and his mum and she used my actual name and idk treated me like a person and I see the way him and his mum are and he's gay and she loves him so much and kisses him on the forehead and tells him she loves him and good for him but it just hurts. And there's that scene in stranger things season 4 with Will and Johnathan and their heart to heart and it makes me want to die. My brother's 11, I take care of him, sure, he's not gonna beat me for being gay but I don't have anyone to fall back on but myself. And it's always been like that, I always take care of others and myself, I've always been so fucking good at not asking for help. I'm not saying I even need help, I don't. I just, watching people be accepted and cared for and shit. God. There's so much wrong with me and I don't know what it really is. I gotta stop doing this. Like istg I'm not losing it but maybe, idk, I'm slipping, I'm fucking slipping. I'm so tired and I'm so fucking miserable.

I think this is one of my favorite lines from the Wraith route because of (imo) how much the meaning changes depending on if you got there via Spectre or Nightmare. For Spectre, it honestly strikes me as a genuine question. Why are you doing this to her? If you're on the Spectre route, you presumably already know the Narrator can't really be trusted, since you had to reject his reward to get here. What are you hoping to gain from continuing to hurt her? For Nightmare, it honestly just makes me sad. As the Shifting Mound describes her, "She desires only companionship, but the only thing she knows is how to hurt." This line feels like a plea from someone who genuinely doesn't understand why you keep rejecting her. She wants to be with you, but she just can't understand how to do that in a way which doesn't hurt you.

It's a shame there was apparently such a big backlash to the 60s Adam West Batman. Denny O'Neil just had to go and make Batman darker again, the year after the show ended. I hate that. Honestly: if Batman stayed in his silver age era of the blue and grey suit with clear paternalism towards his children...I'd like batman a hell of a lot more. They should've made the comics more like the show. Modern batman comics could do with characters like King Tut, Chief O'hara and Aunt Harriet. Or Vincent Price as Egghead. We could all benefit from embracing the silliness of silver age batman. I think that's the only way i'd accept batman. If his comics stayed as they were during the 50s and 60s. If only Adam West's Batman show got an additional 2-3 seasons...then we might have been able to stem the tide of darkness. And maybe we'd have seen more villains adapted to tv in that silver age style...

Thinking about Shawn Spencer with a gun.

Remember that one episode where he's in the backseat and shouts "Somebody give me a gun!" and Lassie and Jules both shout "No!"

....why?

This is Henry Spencer's son. The man who, at that point, has shown he can:

Analyze a room from a glance and find a criminal

Recreate entire crime scenes and scale models from memory off seeing them for less than two minutes

Save himself from someone dead set on killing him

They spend a whole episode (maybe the same episode from before idk) talking about the detective exam which he aced when he was 15

It's a known fact that the only reason he isn't a cop is mix of leftover teen angst, a hatred for order, and a flair for the dramatic

In the first fucking episode, we see him in a shooting range with Lassie's old partner (Doctor Amber Volakis who is fucking everywhere in the early 2000s' once you know her face). In that scene he looks at the target for all of 10 seconds.

He doesn't watch her shoot. He doesn't study the target. And in one tenth of the time it took her to make the shots, matches every one.

And because it's Shawn this is all after acting like he'd never held a gun before.

Obviously no one else is in this scene to see this but still. Shawn shoots a gun maybe twice more in the series but dude is skilled marksman.

Dude also only gets angry when innocent people and people he care about are in imminent danger.

My point is there should've been a scene where Henry Spencer, the person whose main interaction with his son was during survival and skills training, was held at gunpoint and utterly helpless.

Carlton Lassiter, the person with 10 guns hidden throughout his apartment, should hand his personal weapon to Shawn who at that moment has no visible emotion.

Shawn Spencer should walk into the building with no body armor, no plan, and no emotion.

And immediately get a head shot.

No conversation. No bargaining. Nothing.

He should then turn on his heel without even talking to his now blood-speckled father and walk back outside. Return Lassiter's gun. And deposit himself in the back of a squad car.

Or he should set up an NES in the precinct and fucking demolish everyone at Duck Hunt

I just think it's a bit strange that god himself said he couldn't resurrect gabriel in season 11 and then when they found out he'd actually been alive the whole time in season 13 no one brought that up.

it should've been sam. sam, who always clung so tightly to faith, sitting with gabriel after he kills loki and having a twinge of doubt because shouldn't god have known his son was alive? shouldn't he have been able to save him, wanted to save him?

and he brings this up, expecting gabriel to have an explanation, some reason that god wouldn't have known. instead his eyes darken, and sam's faith shatters into a million pieces because god knew. god knew, he lied, and he didn't care—and if there's one thing sam winchester can't abide, it's leaving your family to suffer.

and gabriel, who has always soothed himself with the knowledge that his father is gone, learns that he came back—but not for him. god walked the earth and chose to leave him in agony. he can't be too surprised, what with his father's history of letting his children suffer, and perhaps the worse crime in his eyes is not the pain itself: it's the way he pretended gabriel wasn't going through it.

maybe, he thinks, it was his punishment for skipping out on heaven all those millennia ago. but god left, too, and gabriel very much believes in people getting what they deserve.
