Yoosung’s Yild Yirthday Yadventure pt.1
PART TWO HERE
Something I wrote for Yoosung’s birthday! 12 March! Ignore the weird timelines, I added Jaehee’s cafe because I wanted her to be happy! Summary: Yoosung’s day gets taken over by Seven’s idea for an adventure that takes him around the city and ends with a surprise.
Word Count: 1614 words
He thought it was strange that Seven had sent him a message the moment he stepped out of class but now that Yoosung was outside Seven's bunker, he was just waiting for something to happen. He had rung the bell several times, hoping to break through Seven's headphones however the answer stayed as the same silent sound. He didn't even know what he was thinking when he rolled up to the bunker, he should have known that Seven was playing tricks on him again.
Yoosung turned on his heel, ready to go home however Seven's voice shouted from behind him. He turned around, ready to yell at the red head for making him wait for ten minutes however no one was there. He thought that he was hallucinating ,due to the cold yet the fading Korean winter which was transitioning into spring, but he soon found out where that voice was coming from.
"Yoosung ah~" he heard Seven sing as the university student walked back towards the entrance to search the sound's origin. Yoosung caught sight of the speaker above the door and that's where Seven's voice boomed from. "What's that?" Seven asked himself over the speaker,"It is the 12th of March? I wonder what's so special about this dayyyyy?" But of course the two of them knew about it already.
Yoosung had already thought this to be a waste of time but now that Seven was trying to get him to think, the blonde haired boy was again trying to walk away. "Wait Yoosung! Before you go," Seven started with a small chuckle,"There'll be a big prize for you in you listen to me now!"
His ears perked at the words prize and before he knew it, he had fallen into Seven's trap.
"I call it, Yoosung's Yild Yirthday Yadventure!" "Seven I don't think that's how it works-" Yoosung replied however that's where he learnt that it was all just a recording. He had predicted everything perfectly.
Yoosung reread Seven's first instruction, that was processed out from a wall in form of a thin piece of paper just like a printer, while walking down the chilly streets aimlessly.
"Your first task is to buy me the sweet treat I love eating the belly of first!!"
Despite the irritation Yoosung felt from Seven making him buy him something, the blonde haired boy soon realised where Seven was directing him to go. Yoosung walked in the direction of Zen's place and soon saw the Bungeo-ppang man in sight, remembering that he was just up the road from where his favourite actor resided. Yoosung reluctantly bought the pastries and along with them, to his surprise, the cart owner handed the university student a small white package shaped like a small book with a little card on the top. Yoosung thanked the man at the stand and sat down on a nearby bench to read the loose piece of card first.
“Ding ding, you’ve passed the first task! Even the fish pastry man is in on this!” he could hear Seven’s words echoing in his ear as he read on,”Now open the present and the second task will be in there!! Sarabada Sayonara!”
The blonde honestly just wanted to tear up the instructions Seven had given him however Yoosung was already in this mess, now he had to see it out until the end. He slowly opened the rectangular box and placed the white wrapping to the side as his eyes laid on a selfie of Zen plastered on the front of a card with big letters spelling out happy birthday. The selfie enticed a small laugh out of Yoosung as he opened up the card and read it quietly aloud to himself.
“To Yoosung,” it started,”The present I got you isn’t much but the selfie is priceless so make sure to keep both of them.”
This is when Yoosung lifted the card and underneath was a small box of hair clips with different designs on them. Some had fruits such as strawberries and oranges while others had polka dots or lines. A small feeling of joy overcame him as he continued to read Zen’s card.
“I don’t want it to sound too cheesy and I know how much I tease you but you’re important in the chatroom.”
With each letter, the smile on Yoosung’s face widened subconsciously.
”I don’t know how to explain it but even when the chat atmosphere seems low, when you come it all brightens up. Thanks for being you, Yoosung.”
Now he couldn’t hold back the smile on his face as he carefully tucked the presents into his backpack and picked up all his rubbish to be thrown in the bin however right before he walked by the bin, a small thin piece of paper dropped out from the contents. It was Seven calling card… or calling piece of paper. Yoosung groaned as he leaned down to pick it up, remembering that he was still caught up in Seven’s game however one good thing had already happened so the happy child had his hopes.
“Ding ding ding you found the next task!” Seven’s voice echoed in his brain as he tried to shake it off but the hacker’s presence was too strong,”Now that you’ve received your present from the narcissist and got my delicious pastries, your next stop is to get me some coffee!”
Of course the only coffee shop that came into mind… was Jaehee’s. Yoosung couldn’t contain the happiness that seemed to be oozing out of him as he pranced along to Jaehee’s, unable to wait for what happiness she could bring his way.
He had expected a boring, tedious day just like last year however the happiness from this little adventure was unexpectedly affecting him. Now he couldn’t wait for the next part of the task to take place, even the annoyance at Seven was beginning to fade away, only beginning to.
In a record amount of time Yoosung was stood outside Jaehee’s cafe, panting with his hands on his knees. After a few seconds of composing himself, he walked through the door and up to the counter while he looked around for Jaehee but she wasn’t anywhere to be seen. The man behind the register recognised the seemingly lost boy and told him that Ms. Kang was away for the day. “Wait but… Seven told me to come here…” Yoosung mumbled to himself as the man interjected once again. “Are you here to buy coffee?” he asked, looking the boy in his purple spheres,”Because if you are, I was told to the package at the back.” The stars in Yoosung’s gleamed brightly as the man took his appearance as a yes and walked to the back room, returning with a package wrapped in brown. “The coffee will be 3800 won,” the man told as he placed the package on the counter. “Can’t you give it to me for free? It’s my birthday!” Yoosung told but the glare he received made him completely retract his statement and give the money with a small sorry.
With the coffee in his hands, pastries in his bag and the brown package finally in his hands, Yoosung sat down in the cafe to read the cardboard coloured card which revealed itself while he tore apart the wrapping.
“To Yoosung, It’s Jaehee.”
The first line was already making him laugh due to the formalities she took in a birthday card.
“I’m not quite sure what to put in this card but I just wanted to let you know to keep working hard in school because you’re a smart individual, I believe you could succeed in what ever you do. You’re a member of the RFA and no matter what decisions you make, we will help you and support you. I look forward to the next year together, best of luck. Hopefully the present I’ve given you will help you to make your school life easier to cope with, I hope you like the design and I apologise for not getting you a better gift.”
A shiver went down his spine as the sheer sincerity he could feel with each word was immense. He had never really noticed it but now he knew just how much Jaehee cared for him, even when she was Jumin’s assistant to now, she never stopped looking out for him. The admiration for her only grew as even amongst the busy times at the cafe, she took time to write him a card. He looked underneath the card to see a small planner with the design of a puppy on the front. Another laugh was heard from Yoosung as he thought that it was just typical of Jaehee, nevertheless he appreciated the gift and especially the puppy.
Feeling giddy from the new and actually useful present he had received, Yoosung searched the contents of the wrapping to find the next slip of paper which would lead the excited adventurer to his next destination. Right on time, he caught sight of the paper and read it quickly, making sure not to leave anything behind while walking out the cafe door.
“Whoaaaaa you’ve made it this far Yoosung, I’m proud of you!” Seven wrote followed by a lot of emoticons,”Now that you have food and coffee you’re just like an assistant! Go to the man who recently lost his and you’ll find your next clues there, adieu!”
The moment Yoosung realised where he was going, his legs were already taking him in that direction. The sun stared down from directly above him and despite being covered by clouds and surrounding chilly weather, nothing could stand to wipe away the smile on his face.
