You always seem so lovely and kind and it's really fun seeing someone so involved in toku! I don't enjoy twitter very much... so I don't see people going to the live shows or anything like that. I'm glad you enjoy my babblings :D I love toku and I LOVE the Kingohgers. I love the familiarity of toku (sentai in particular) and you can just always count on it to feel like a child again. The sense of community. The creators paying homage but always aiming to refresh this genre with a long history. I just want more people to know how wonderful this show and the cast is! After 3 years of Ups, there may not be a sentai for me to be this invested in ever again. Besides, there's only NOW we have them with us! 😭

I can't believe my words have that power🥹 just know that i went partly wishing to be a "reporter" for my buds here. I wish I had written down more but I was way too tired and only had some voice notes and more photos to organise. One day, one day you'll get there! I never imagined myself being there on my first toku trip either. It was surreal to visit the locations from TV and watch the locals just go by what we fans consider holy ground. and I only get to go from being in the right place at the right time. very spur of the moment but grateful 🙏

I'm too tumblr-old for twitter too so I'm staying in my comfort zone 😅. I also feel a duty because the english fanbase seem to be on the short end with bonus content or cast news that I thought was standard for a fandom this size or necessary context/fun bts (for example Racules *cough cough*) It's great practice to do translation too.

I had my doubts sharing my toku thoughts here at first, so I made this sideblog to balance things out. And it was SO freeing that I got to choose how much I'm comfortable to share.

Above all, I'm really happy toku tumblr is so tight-knit and I've made a lot of first steps because of kingoh this year. It was there for me during a rough time as well. I'm not leaving regrets in order to spend an excellent year with it.

Note: This story probably has a wildly inaccurate idea of what filming a movie is like, but honestly I'm not too worried about it.

The interview

“So, Mr. Oshikiri,” says the interviewer, “what made you want to do a boy’s love film?”

Shiguru smiles winningly at her, and she visibly blushes as he’s answering. “Well, I’ve done a few romances before, it’s always a nice change of pace from serious period dramas, and when I was approached about this one, I thought, why not? And then of course the premise of the story is very enjoyable, I’ve never done science fiction at all before. I do all this sword-fighting on Earth, it might be fun to have a sword fight on another planet.”

She nods, still blushing. “That makes sense! Now, there are rumors that the movie’s going to be fairly racy; are you nervous about filming those sorts of scenes with another man?”

“Oh, not at all, why should I be? A kiss is a kiss no matter who it’s with, right?”

The crew

“Hey, Sugiyama,” says one of the grips to another “what’s a big-name heart surgeon doing on set? Seems a little extreme for first aid, don’t you think?”

Sugiyama grins. “Didn’t you know? She and Oshikiri are dating, it was all over magazine covers a few months ago when it got out. And apparently she’s a fan of the director’s, so she got Oshikiri to bring her. She’s real cute, ain’t she.”

“Shit, y’know, I do feel like I saw something about that, I don’t read those magazines but my girl eats ‘em up.” The first grip peers at where Dr. Oharu is standing, chatting pleasantly with the director. “Who’s the guy with her, though? The one in the silver jacket? Don’t recognize him from any magazine covers.”

A shrug. “Not sure. I think he’s affiliated with the company doing all’a this wild jewelry?”

Take 1—The first meeting

“All right, masquerade ball, take one!”

.

[They circle each other in an open space on the otherwise busy dance floor. The PRINCE’S costume is a rich, glowing blue; his antennae, rising up above his elaborate mask, have been gilded. The GUARD is dressed in a simpler brown, with a plain black mask, antennae unadorned.]

PRINCE: “What system are you from, stranger? What planet? Your costume is very striking.”

GUARD: “I’m no one special. And you don’t need to be polite about it, I know I’ve got the least interesting outfit here.” (openly looking at Prince’s body) “You look very nice.”

PRINCE: “But that’s what makes it so exciting! Everyone else here is overdressed, me included. Really, who are you?”

GUARD: “Isn’t it a little rude to ask someone their name at a masquerade? Your Highness?”

PRINCE: “Well, now you’re just teasing me, if you know who I am.”

GUARD: “Maybe I’m trying to tease you.”

PRINCE: (reaching for Guard’s hand) “Here, dance with me.”

“Cut! That was great! But let’s try it again from the top, gentlemen, with a little more, a little more mystery this time!”

There’s a break between takes, and tucked away in a briefly-quiet corner of the studio, Sayo says, “You should take me dancing sometime,” and beams up at Shiguru. “You look good out there.”

“You thought so? I only ever really feel confident dancing when I’m on camera.” Shiguru eats an energy bar in careful, delicate bites, working to not smudge any of his makeup, especially not the dramatically blue lip stain. “Although I suppose with everyone watching me like they do when we’re out that’s fairly similar to being on camera. I don’t really know places to dance, but we can go sometime if you like.”

“I would like, thank you.” She eyes him for a moment thoughtfully and then elbows Takamichi. “So, what did you think of it? As our resident alien prince?”

Takamichi shrugs, grinning. “It’s very interesting! Doesn’t look like any party I ever went to, though, most aliens look a littleless human than that.” He reaches out and flicks one of Shiguru’s antennae fondly.

“Take us to a party on Crystalia, then, show us what one of those looks like.” Sayo watches as Shiguru eats the last of his energy bar and then grabs his hand. “Show me how to do the dance you’re doing in that scene.”

They dance in their small space, Takamichi quietly clapping time until there’s a call of, “Five more minutes, people!” from nearby, at which point Sayo reaches up, grabs Shiguru by the collar of his costume, and pulls him into a lengthy kiss.

“You look good as an alien,” she says.

Shiguru blinks, blushing. “I, um. Ah. Thank you—oh dear.”

“What—oh, I forgot about your makeup.” Sayo’s hand flies up to cover the blue marking on her lips. “Quick, Takamichi, give me a handkerchief.”

As Takamichi produces a handkerchief and passes it to her, badly suppressing laughter, Shiguru pulls a compact mirror out of one of his sleeves and inspects the damage. “Excuse me, I have to go back to makeup to get this fixed, and ask them about a better setting option. If isn’t going to hold up to kissing then I’m barely going to make it through a quarter of the movie.”

Take 25—The dramatic kiss

“All right, let’s try this from the top!”

.

GUARD: “While we still have this time alone, though, I want to take the chance to do this.”

[He grabs Prince and sweeps him off his feet.]

PRINCE: “What are you—”

.

Thump.

“Ouch, oh, I’m sorry, Ray, was that your foot?”

“I should be apologizing to you, this is what, the third time I’ve dropped you?”

The director sighs. “Cut! What’s going on with this one?”

Shiguru winces as his co-star helps him off the floor. “I’m typically the one doing the dipping, is the problem, I’m not sure where to put my feet when I’m being dipped.”

His co-star looks similarly faintly embarrassed. “And I have dipped people before, but he’s a little bigger than my usual. No offense meant, Shiguru.”

“Oh, none taken.”

The director looks like she can’t decide being between frustrated and being amused. “You know, that’s fair, why don’t we take fifteen minutes so Oshikiri can get a break from being dropped on his tailbone for a little bit.”

“I can dip you without dropping you.”

Shiguru sighs, rubbing the small of his back. “Honestly, some of the problem’s me, I keep losing my footing mid-sweep and then over I go. I hope I didn’t hurt Ray’s foot too badly when I—whoa,” and he’s swept off his feet, as behind them Sayo claps delightedly.

“It’s all about supporting the back,” Takamichi says cheerfully as Shiguru stares up at him. “And you should maybe worry less about keeping your feet under you, you keep falling because you’re fighting to keep your balance instead of letting him do his thing. Do I have something on my face?”

“Ah. No. No.” Shiguru stares up at him, going red. “This is just. Different when it’s you.”

“I suppose it is.” Takamichi stares thoughtfully down at him, not letting go. “They figured out a better way to set your makeup, right?”

“Yes…? Why do you ask—”

Several minutes later Takamichi lets Shiguru stand up, and he kisses Sayo on the cheek, looking dazed. She reaches up and taps his nose with her finger. “I think you might need them to fix your hair before they start filming again.”

“Right, yes.” Shiguru nods slowly. “I imagine I do.”

Take 42—The racy bit

The lights come up on the set, and there’s a long, tense silence as the director and several other members of the production team fan themselves. Shiguru’s co-star stares down at him as he, in turn, is staring up, and then, after a moment, they both start to laugh, and the tension in the room breaks, and the director says, breathlessly, “Perfect, guys, got it in one, I don’t think we need any retakes on that one. But I do think we all deserve a breather for lunch, and then when we get back we’ll be doing the morning after with the attack by the insurgents and the prince’s big duel.”

Shiguru can’t get up until his co-star does, but when he is able to get his feet back on the floor he stretches and looks around. “Where did I put my socks, I know they’re somewhere around here—there they are.” Socks back on, he pads over to the edge of the sound stage, absently pulling the remains of the prince’s shirt up to cover his bare shoulder as he reaches the spot where Sayo and Takamichi are standing. “I forget, did we have plans for lunch?”

No answer.

“…guys?”

Sayo says, after a beat, “Takamichi and I thought of a good idea for lunch, yes.”

He nods expectantly. “Which is…?”

Takamichi grabs his hand, causing his shirt to fall back down off his shoulder. “Here, it’s this way.”

About forty-five minutes later, Shiguru wanders back out to the set. He’s eating a sandwich from the craft services table, somewhat absently, and he looks disheveled and flushed. There’s a noticeable red mark on the side of his neck. His shirt is, somehow, slightly more torn.

One of the women on the makeup crew looks at him and blinks. “Oh my god, come over here, let me fix you back up before we start filming again.”

As she’s reaching for him, though, she’s stopped by a hand on her arm. “No, don’t, this is perfect, he’s perfect.” The director looks him up and down. “I don’t know what you were having for lunch, darling, but this is the exact look we need for that morning-after scene.”

An Extensive List of Phantom Thieves (怪盗)

but first the criteria:

The boundaries for what makes a thief a phantom and whether it's different from a gentleman thief are wobbly

We can't really just allow everyone who calls themselves "kaitou" to qualify, because there's Kaitou Sai from Nogami Neiro who is a serial killer which is A Very Bad Thing. most good examples of thieves have a "no kill" rule

If we set that they have to steal for Good Reasons, we cut off Kaitou Joker, who is very much a phantom thief, so we have to allow "thrill of the chase" as a valid-ish reason for stealing. no bonus points though, it just not instant disqualification

I found that "sends a calling card" is a good rule to stick to so I trimmed my original surprisingly long list based on whether I know for sure they send announcements or cards or letters or such. If you don't say "come and get me" to your target, you're pragmatic, a realist and also a coward

Which led me to a conclusion that to be a proper phantom thief, the main thing you should be after is the spotlight. You have to steal the show. Otherwise you're just a thief, maybe a gentleman, but not a phantom. Contrary to the name, you have to be seen. Good phantom thieves have a give-and-take relationship with their audience - they take the treasure, and give back a performance or some other form of entertainment (or purpose in life in some cases).

The following compilation doesn't include: books, hentai, eroge, BL, things where i couldn't translate the title into English, the ones that don't send calling cards(as far as i know) and in general a bunch of media i most definitely missed

Phantom Thief Hall of Fame:

- Kaito Kid(1987), Kaitou Saint Tail(1994) and Kaitou Joker(2007) are all brilliant examples of the genre, and if you don't know any of them, they all have a bunch of passionate fans each and they can all be googled really easily

- Joker and his gang from Persona 5(2017); i'm consiously placing him in the second/fourth place because even though he's really cool, very popular and is The phantom thief to a lot of people unfamiliar with the genre... he doesn't have a tophat (his persona is not enough)

- ... I'll just mention that Lupin the 3rd(1967) exists and go on

- and of course, Lupin III and about a quarter of all phantom thieves are in some way based on Arsène Lupin(1905) by Maurice Leblanc

- ex. there was a french-canadian cartoon about Lupin called Night Hood(1996)

- Cat's Eye(1981), cited as an inspiration for Saint Tail, is about a trio of sisters who steal stuff in order to get closer to their dad and it's epic

- Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne(1997), like Saint Tail, doubles as a magical girl series and is about magical stealing and the clothing is eastern and the manga swerves into weird territory in the end but it features one of the precious few phantom thief & phantom thief romances

- King of Bandits Jing(1995), while doesn't have the aesthetic, has the weirdness, the charm, the calling card (i think) and is generally cool enough to steal his place on the list whether he’s a phantom or not

- The Acrobat/Man of Twenty Faces(1990), also known as Akira Ijyuin; charming child somehow without most of the problems the CLAMP protagonists tend to suffer from

- Phantom R the titular Rhythm Thief(2012), a great example of a dancer show-off, has a dog

- The Black Rose from Ashita no Nadja(2003) is a tuxedo mask-esque character

- Kaitou Kiramekiman(2000) is a cool retrofuturistic-looking duo trying to save the world in a show that is tragically more about their police counterparts Doing Absolutely Nothing because the villains tend to be more popular in that franchise

- Pacricon(1999) takes place in a world where money has been cancelled(?), has a hella cool calling card

- Shadow Lady(1995)... well, there's a lot of fanservice - like, a lot, and it's tiring and i warned you - but there's also some genuinely funny twists like cancelling her heist on live tv just because she didn't feel like doing it. it also got very unceremoniously axed

- Kaitou Alexandrite(2006) owns/co-owns/frequents a bordel so there's some nsfw to be seen on occasion but it's tolerable and could be described as tasteful i guess. she stole someone's voice once. it also features one of the best identity reveals

- Chat Noir from Granblue Fantasy(2014) is a fighting unit; he has a "calling card" skill and i think that's beautiful

- Phantom Skye from Harvest Moon DS Cute(2005), a not-very-secret character, is an absolute cheese but it loops right back into being charming

- Kaito Rousseau(2006) for Nintendo DS, where a tiny thief boy is horrible at going unnoticed unless he disguises his face as whatever you draw on your ds screen

- Mask DeMasque from Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations(2004) is a thing?

- Sly Cooper(2002) is known as Kaitou Sly Cooper in Japan so he fits the bill

- PxP(2006), short manga about a girl thief in high school

- Sweet Kaitou Vanilla Moon(2010), pastry-themed phantom thief? hell yeah!

- Kaitou Reinya(2010), a short comedy that is not to be taken seriously but you might get a few chuckles from it and i don't regret giving it a second chance (warning: cartoonish animal abuse)

- Cat's Eye(s)(2010), a remake of the original tale of three sisters with different PoVs

- Kaitou Jack from Nishikida Keibu wa Dorobou ga Osuki(2013); it's a gag manga about a cute phantom thief boy and an old man detective that acts like a schoolgirl around that boy. ... I'm only mentioning it here because I like Jack's costume and "i'm-SO-done-with-this" faces and it's mostly intended to be funny. mostly.

- Kaitou Okami-Zoku Shonen(2013), a oneshot about a werewolf who eats people's hearts (metaphorically! through kisses) but is really stylish about it. Think P5 protagonist but alone and a werewolf

- Phantom Thief F's Scenario(2013) is a vocaloid song about a diamond heist on a luxury liner

- Kaitou Le Vin(2014) is about six people stealing wines and it's epic but they can't shut up about wine for one second

- Gaitou Alice(2015) is about a guy looking like Kaito Kuroba going into people's hearts to steal stuff before P5 made it cool. Features amazing artwork but kinda gross stuff closer to the end so it's kind of understandable why it got axed but it has a kind of weird charm to it

- Mystic Thief X from a mobile dating game Miss Detective's Undercover(2017) (i'm scraping for phantom thief content) is honestly excellent at his job. he might only be showing off for one person but damn it's romantic af and i love him

- Kaitou Shounen Jokers(2017) is a sequel to Kaitou Joker, and is directly about the previous protag's kid going to a phantom thief school (i have no hard evidence he sends calling cards but if he doesn’t take after dad i’m-)

- Kaitou Saint Tail girls!(2018), a sequel to Saint Tail, is very cute and has two new Saint Tails working together! i wish i knew more about it

- Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger(2018), live-action series that is a must-watch for anyone who loves phantom thieves because it's a masterpiece of a tv show; besides the three thieves it also features the best police officers in the genre (it kind of has to since they're protagonists too but boy does it deliver)

- Secret x Warrior Phantomirage(2019) is also a live action and it's all about girls stealing enchanted hearts! i actually don't know if they send cards but it feels right placing them after lupinrangers and they're definitely show-stealers

- Kilroy(2018) is a western comic about a guy who broke an unconventional mirror and has to do unconventional repairs

- Kaitou Kamaitachi(2018) has a cute reporter boy and a lot of butterflies

- Destined Memories(2019) is another mobile dating game, there are thieves (called the Crows) in victorian england and they send notices and it's way better at being a phantom thief story than an actual phantom thief story by this company that i'll maybe mention later if i get to compiling a list of thieves that don't send cards

- I really want to put Majo Kaitou Lip☆s(2019) in this category, I want her to send calling cards, but there's like two chapters out so there's still time. The artwork for this series is GORGEOUS and the idol imagery is amazing and i love it so much I just want her to be popular

Scare my friend away, I'll get you kicked out off university!

Sorry for my terrible spelling and grammar.

So, for context I am a transgender woman (22) who had just started transitioning at the time. I wasn't taking hormones but I acted a little more feminine, even the way I walked.

A young lad at the university, let's call him Liam made it known he fought I was gay because of the way I walked and he happened to be a huge homophobe. He told others I had a boyfriend, asked him out and tried to force myself on him. My friends who knew about my girlfriend obviously saw how false it was but nevertheless the rumour spread. I was studying games design and so as you can imagine every class and lecture hall was a sausage party. A lot of guys felt uncomfortable around me and one asked if I'd sit rather at the front ot far back. I knew it was so they could quarantine me to one space. (This was mostly down to the rumour of me forcing myself on Liam and not being gay in general).

About half way of the first semester past and slowly more people started talking to me, and clicked on the rumour was bullshit. I didn't really like talking to others so the isolation didn't affect me too much but It was nice to be able to chat. I began to show off my Super Sentai collection and people learned I was just a massive child at heart and not a predator. I even got talking to Charlie, a friend of Liam. He was also a Sentai lover and agreed to sell me a old mecha he got as he recently bought another with the paint more intact. I got the money and the next day I got to university ready to buy it.

However, he backed out via text and didn't speak to me for the rest of the day. When I was between classes I saw he had been carrying the mecha in a carrier bag with him so I knew he backed VERY last minute. We took the same bus home and there he finally let me buy it from him but he only asked for half the money as it was worth. I paid the full price but not without a fight. I never pressed why he backed out the first time as it was painfully obvious.

Later that night Charlie text me telling me that Liam demanded he to not sell it to.me. I ain't too sure how she knew I was buying it but Charlie is timid and I get Liam is a big lad. I told him it was fine and that maybe we should only communicate through text if that helps. He tells me he would rather hide the fact we talk at all and I understood.

Over the weekend me and Charlie text a ton about Sentai and mecha. We considered going to a shop we knew which sold a lot of model kits and mechas but the thought of being caught by Liam made him decline. The control Liam had over the lad now started to genuinely scare me. Just the thought of him was enough to instil fear in Charlie. I asked him if he wanted to take a train the next town over and go to another shop a tens of kilometres away but he told me he'd rather if I went alone and he'll go on his own another day.

I asked to what extent Liam talked about me but Charlie told me he talked about every gay student in a similar manner but he was fixated on me. I got back up after my rumour and even took a friend from him, apparently. He told me Liam even hated the idea of me passing the first year and going to the second. For some reason the idea of a gay man doing as well or doing better hurt his manhood. This is when an idea came to mind and I asked how he was doing academically and absorbed every detail.

On the first back at university I was in a foul mood. An anxiety attack kept me up all of the night before. I had very little plan how I was going to deal out my revenge. However, when I got into the building which we had a lecture in a few minutes I managed to just improvise on the spot.

I approached Liam with Charlie and a few other lads. I asked Liam how his day was and whether or not he could do with some help on his work. I knew he failed to hand in an assignment before and was struggling to finish another which due date was soon. He scoffed and declined. The other two lads not wanting to be around me walked off while Charlie was now the only one in earshot.

I told him I had finished the assignment he had to do and that I was pretty sure I was going to pass. I also told him how easy the assignment he failed to hand in was but that I should of helped earlier. He got mad and told me that I shouldn't provoke him. I told him I was trying to help. He, now loud enough for others beyond me snd Charlie to hear told me to "Shut the f**K up".

I, only speaking loud enough for me, Liam and Charlie to hear (Were in a big hallway, just to menrion) told him to watch his f**king mouth. He then shouted the big ol' F word (The slur for homosexuals) at me. A lecturer who was walking though the halls, a bunch of students, and me and Charlie all just heard him use a slur in a hall at someone he publicly thought was gay.

He was asked to move to the side by the lecturer and a hour later we were asked to give an interview. In the end I was a lot more honest than intended and told a student services worker I did provoke him. The worker said he suspected I did but something Charlie said in his interview convinced him that what I did was minor at best. I got a slap on the wrist and with the amount odf hate crimes Liam got reported against him before this he was kicked out entirely.

Though, I left university shortly after due to health reasons I am just glad to know he didn't get away with his homophobia. I check on his FB page and last I checked he joined a nationalist group and overall was struggling with money after losing his student loan.

TLDR: A homophobe hates the way I walk, scares a friend to not talk to me so we get him kicked out by making him shout a slur

Fandom Search into the New Year

Hello there, And thanks for reading this! Currently looking for more people to write with, in my free time. As I find writing, as both a way to destress from a long day, and to kill time in an enjoyable way. This post, is clearly for fandom based writing. I will list which Fandoms, and any thoughts for plot/characters we could/might include. However, everything mentioned is not needed. As we can build any idea, from the ground up. Just keep that in mind, thank you :) First, a few things about me, and such: 

I am 18+, and ask that my partners are around the same. 

I live in the East Coast (EST time zone) ; and work a part-time job. So my reply schedule varies. 

I write in 3rd Person, Past Tense. I ask my partner does the same; but I always keep in mind, mistakes do happen. Typically, I wish to stay with Canon Characters, but will mention within each Fandom specifically, if I do or not. 

Length, and such can be discussed.

Now, onto the Fandoms,  in no real order: 

Dragon Ball: I have a few thoughts, when it comes to this Fandom. One, lingers within Universe 6, of the Dragon Ball Multiverse. Within the Sixth Universe, I'd like to adapt the Tuffle Arc, from GT. Having Cabba, Kale, and other Saiyans from said Universe dealing with this threat. No help from the Seventh, just the Sixth dealing with a problem. I do fancy Kale and Caulifa as a ship, so if we want to include that, let's! --My second thought, as a possible plot,is an AU of sorts. Dealing with Gohan, during the Buu Saga. However, the Saga doesn't go as it usually does. No Buu. Instead, Gohan gets to focus on Hero Work, as Great Saiyaman. In this, we can include any number of new villains, or include of Non-Canon Characters, as new foes for the Hero of Justice to deal with. Videl can be a key figure, trying to figure out Great Saiyaman, and perhaps become Great Saiyawoman. 

Kingdom Hearts: Another series I love. Though, when it comes to some aspects of this series, I wish things went a different way. Of course, some of those might be answered in the Re:Mind DLC, coming out soon. Though, I leave this fandom open, if we wish to dive into any moment of KH, and re-write. Sorta, a AU, What-IF story, perhaps. Or, we can dive into any game, and explore around. Kinda like how the 358/2 Days Manga did. (358/2 is my favorite title, if any one was curious.) Again, ideally, Canon characters for this Fandom.  One idea I have had for a bit, is a Final Fantasy X-2 inspired one, with the gals from KH working together on some adventure. Said Adventure, is in the air, but if you want to dive into this, awesome!

Arrow-verse/Cw DC Universe: Crisis is Here! WORLDS WILL LIVE, and WORLDS WILL DIE. Personally, really been enjoying Crisis. But, I digress. Some ideas we could go about: Creating our own Earth, within the Multiverse. -Playing with whatever characters we want, in a tale we create. -Dealing with Earth-X, and a possible Multiverse Invasion! -2040's! I love the future characters of: Mia, Conner, William, and Nora (despite what happened to her) We could set things in a AU of 2040's, and a new Trio. We would have to figure out who would be the Super-girl add in, as Nora would be the Flash add in, and Mia and her team, clearly the Arrow members. -Crisis even! If we want a different character added in, maybe from Titans, or any Earth, and want to change how Crisis was played out (from the three parts out now), we can! I am open to adapting comic characters, who haven't been within the shows yet, too! 

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: For this Fandom, I actually wish to craft our own characters, and story. As, spoilers, this is a sense of a Multiverse within Jojo. Let's go in our own. Of course, I would prefer if we keep certain names; as in Joestar. I feel one of our characters, should be a Joestar, in our own Universe. Could be the start of the Generation in our story, or already a descendant. Other Family names we could keep: Zeppeli, Brando, Kishibe, and others! But, our own versions of characters (if that makes any sense!) I'd like to have Hamon, somehow added too. I always liked Hamon, but of course Stands are all the rage. 

Star Wars (Disney Era):  So, I had just seen, The Rise of Skywalker. If you have not, no worries, no spoilers from me. Though, I will note- I did not hate or completely love it either. I am alright, with what it is, considering everything leading into production and what not.  That doesn't mean, I wouldn't do things differently. So, if anyone is interesting in some AU, within the Skywalker Saga- changing events (perhaps re-writing TROS completely,) or what not, let's start crafting. It could be our own re-write, or scrap ideas from that film all together, and create some end of the Skywalker Saga, we want. Or, if we want to dive into any moment in the universe, we can. 

Persona 5:  My favorite Persona game, given the fact I have only played P5 and games connected/involving characters from. I have watched some of P3, but I have no real interests in P4, as a friend has told me the basic summary of the game. That said, for this Fandom, I prefer to stick with the canon characters, as much as possible.  Though, plots can be anything really! Want to dive in some Redemption Arc for Akechi? Some time-loop with Akiren/Joker? Dive into some romantic tale with our Favorite Ship? (Mine is MakotoXAnn~). Crossover with another game? Maybe Kingdom Hearts? Any number of AU's? Let's chat and steal some hearts! 

A small list of others, that I don't have too much thought out about: Pokemon (Games, and Manga mostly) , Star Battlefront II (EA) , Power Rangers/Super Sentai, Marvel Comics.

I dunno how I’d write a(n) anniversary/milestone Kamen Rider.

I’d guess to write a good one, I’d ask what made the crossover movies good, and then attempt to pull off a massive crossover with every Rider.

Then the previous milestone Riders, and what people liked about them.

And also Gokaiger.

Zi-O tried its hardest to not be a story-less Decade, and then we ended up with a clusterfuck story with enough plotholes to induce trypophobia to a lot of people. Then again, the writers were infamous for being awful.

The good part about it was the fact old actors were brought back, and the idea that Sougo learns from previous Riders.

Decade was complained about because it didn’t really have a story (more of being a support for other stories) and the original Riders weren’t brought back.

The good part about it was the characters and the fact it supports the old stories. Tsukasa was likable.

I haven’t watched ZX yet *shrug*. 

The movies/crossovers were awesome imo because they all shared a united threat, often a fusion of the Riders’ enemies/powers (Nebula Bugster, 15, the few last episodes of Wizard). The Riders interacting with new and old, seeing how they get along.

Gokaiger was amazing, with great characters, great story, I dunno what exactly makes it stand out from the rest because I suck at story analysis (probably should’ve paid more attention in English class). All the characters got their time to shine, their interactions with previous sentai were memorable, dunno what else to say other than it’s a good story.

So, the next milestone rider should have a good story that:

* Attempts to get back previous actors, to honor the past properly. Getting back previous Riders are often times a pain, so just so long as they’re honored properly instead of saying “these new guys are the previous riders you’re looking for” (i think this is the reason most people complained about AR riders) or anything that kinda makes them trivialized. Like, the Riders that came before matter. Just make sure they don’t get overshadowed by previous riders. There’s the issue of Joe Odagiri never returning for the role of Kuuga, so I propose the following solutions: Use AR Godai (Yuusuke) or use Riku (1st Kuuga). Pretty sure the suit actor isn’t dead (hopefully, I don’t pay much attention to news) and with some time-shenanigans, we can bring grandpa Kuuga into the fight.

* Both supports the stories of long past like Decade and learns from those stories like Zi-O. I’d recommend that the milestone Rider compares his strengths/weaknesses to the legend Riders, supporting the seniors with his strengths and helping them get over their trials and weaknesses they may still have lingering in even after the series ended, while also letting them support the junior riders with their strengths, letting them learn and grow from their weakness. Decade supported a lot of the AR riders this way. Tsukasa has declared he’d protect AR Kuuga’s smile while he protects others, AR Kuuga helped AR Kiva accept the role as ruler to help humans and fangire, Daiki with AR Hibiki, etc. Zi-O learned from the other Riders (albeit rarely, as far as I could tell, with the obvious examples being) like Shinji to accept his mirror self, Sento that regardless if they are fiction, their dreams and ideals exist, Kouta to trust and believe in his allies, etc. Maybe a strength a previous Rider has turns into a weakness, and the new Rider helps them, showing the power of having friends and the benefits of not screwing up as badly as you would if you have a friend who knows what to do in your place.

* Has likable, quirky characters. Make sure their behaviors make sense and are consistent. I liked Tsukasa because he was a snarky troll instead of a “let’s help everyone get along uwu” like most Riders are. Sougo was actually intriguing to me because of his King dream.

* Probably has the protagonist deal with a united Rider threat (Shocker enters the chat). Bonus points if it can reflect a modern issue properly. The threat can also be a new one that the previous Riders can’t fight against for some reason (like in Gokaiger, Zanyack and that Super Sentai power bomb), and the new Rider is the only one or one of few who can. Though, Riders like Sento who can just reinvent their powers, Tsukasa who just exists, and possibly G-system because it’s just a machine that you can make over and over with blueprints if one malfunctions could easily get around it, but then again, a lot of them don’t need their powers to kick ass, like Eiji, who despite already having gotten his medals back since the movies, still can fight, Hibiki is also well-trained as just an ordinary human/oni from what I’ve heard, Godai has 2019 skills rn, 2020 in 4-5 months, and by the next anniversary, assuming it’ll happen with the 10th Reiwa Rider, 2029 skills, more than enough to kick ass. Shouichi still has his cooking skills and Shinji is still a dumbass, so really depends on how you wanna use the seniors to kick ass. Imagine Shouichi and Tendou in a cooking contest against each other, or working together to make a meal. The initial reaction of Shinji to Ryuga, probably. Really gotta see Shoutarou interacting with other riders, I miss the dorky detective.

Of course, considering the track record so far of milestone riders, we probably won’t be getting that.
