Jaclyn Hill x Morphe The Good, The Bad, and The Fallout - An Unbiased Fan Review
Jaclyn Hill x Morphe The Good, The Bad, and The Fallout – An Unbiased Fan Review
Anyone that follows me on Instagram knows that I have been excited about this palette since a release date was FINALLY announced! Jaclyn Hill was one of the first YouTubers I ever watched and subscribed to and I have never understood all of the hate that she gets. I think she is pretty and sweet. I wanted Champagne Pop but it always ended up that I didn’t have extra money for makeup when it came…

In Orthodox Jewish communities, matchmakers have paired up couples for centuries, but their niche profession entered into the American pop culture lexicon in 1964. That year, the musical "Fiddler on the Roof" debuted on Broadway, scoring nine Tony Awards and being adapted into a 1971 Academy Award winning film [source: Berkvist]. Among the popular show tunes included in the production, the wistful "Matchmaker, Matchmaker" features a girl named Tzeitel pining for a handsome, romantic suitor, rather than a dispassionate arrangement. The Liberals hoped to unleash their destructive power against the Republic by assassinating the head of 홍성출장안마 government and usurping control of the army. But the aims of would be tyrants were valiantly opposed by those without elitist, dangerous powers. Our loyal troopers contained the 홍성출장안마 insurrection within the Democratic Party HQ and quelled uprisings in a thousand cities.. I was wrong. This has been my least favorite box so far. Shame, but that okay! For $10 a month it still very worth it.. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNNNN. I loved the Jaclyn Hill Morphe palette (the big one released in 2017) and still use it all the time, but Morphe as a brand is so so so overrated (other than that palette) and IMO, so is James as a makeup artist. He rarely does actual reviews of product, he does the same looks, posts the same overly face tuned instagram photos, talks 290890 miles an hour and he not particularly articulate about product or teaching or tutorials. Have an objective at the top stating what kind of job you like, around 3 lines in paragraph form. All your dates should be on the far right of the page.banable_blamable 0 points submitted 6 days agoObviously you in the wrong. It very apparent from the story that you bothered by the money thing because there was zero reason for you to even bring it up. I on the pill now (Alesse) and it going great. I tried other variations that were not so great but for me, at least, none of the side effects I experienced were that drastic and they went away rapidly once coming off that variety of pill. So I get why you might have concerns, but if anything feels out of whack just stop taking them and you should go back to normal pretty quickly.. Aaron Hernandez was young, only played for 3ish years professionally, and still had stage 3 CTE (4 is the most severe). It been swept under the rug for years but it finally being talked about and players ARE starting to prioritize their health. No one is running around trying to make CTE acceptable and glorify it.. I didn't take it out on anyone handled myself well in the situation but I know my boss is mad that it was not resolved. My boss refuses to talk to him so it's honestly a fucking nightmare. I know my boss is going to go off. You can watch gameplay FOR FREE and WAIT so you dont have to be burned by the publisher but people want everything NOW and then act surprised when they dont deliver a quality product. Like they actually care about delivering anything of quality when you (the general you) will buy the product no matter how good or bad it is. If i can sell a product for 60 and cut one year from development it will save me lots of money and knowing the consumers will buy it regardless, i will do just that.

Blog #12 The Makeup ABCs!
Hello, people of earth! Dammit Dy’mond back at it again with another blog post. Today’s post is going to talk about one of my favorite things; MAKEUP! Today I will list my ABC’s of makeup while giving tips, tricks, and gifs along the way. Let’s go yall!
A is for Application
In makeup, the application is KEY! You don't want patchy foundation or creased eyeshadow. The tools you use can drastically change how your makeup is applied. Protip: BLEND BLEND BLEND. If you think you’ve blended enough, blend some more.
B is for Baking
No, not the baking you’d do in a kitchen. When you bake, you let a translucent setting powder sit for about 5 to 10 minutes and “bake” on your face, setting your concealer in place. After you’re done baking, you gently dust the powder off your face, leaving you a flawless finish.
C is for Contour
Contouring reshapes your face - no surgery required! With the use of cream of powder 2 shades darker than your skin tone, you define areas like your nose, forehead, and jawline to make your face look SNATCHED
D is for Drug Store Beauty
Look, not everyone can afford $50 foundation and eyeshadow palettes, and that's perfectly okay! The truth is, you don't need to spend a pretty penny in order to look glamorous. The majority of my entire makeup collection comes from the drugstore. Brands like Maybelline and E.L.F. specialize in affordable, accessible beauty. So everyone can buy makeup no matter their budget!
E is for Eyebrows
Doing my eyebrows are my favorite part of my beauty routine. My favorite brow product is Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz and an amazing dupe for that product (that I personally swear by) is NYX Micro Brow Pencil. It's basically the same product but literally half the price
F is for Foundation
Foundation is integral to my beauty routine. I personally have a lot of dark marks and acne scarring that I prefer to cover up when I want to look nice. I love a nice satin foundation. It’s great for that “your skin but better” look!
G is for Glitter
In my makeup kit, there can never be too much glitter. It makes me feel fabulous
H is for Highlight
Glitter and Highlighter go hand in hand. A beaming highlight is something that is non-negotiable in my beauty routine because it's my absolute favorite part of doing my makeup.
I is for Illuminate
Aside from a blinding highlight, another thing I make necessary in my beauty routine is illuminating my face so I look bright, glowy, and more awake. Protip: to achieve an illuminated face, mix a little liquid highlighter into your foundation for a luminous, natural looking glow.
J is for Jelly Beam
No, not a jelly bean. Jelly Beam! The new FARSÁLI Jelly Beam Illuminator is a highlighter that has been making waves in the beauty community. This highlighter has a consistency of - you guessed it, Jelly! I had to mention this product because it's so fascinating.
K is for Kiss Lashes
Kiss lashes are my favorite drugstore brand of false eyelashes! Affordable and glam AF!
L is for Lippies
Lip Stick, Lip Gloss, Lip balm, Lip Plumpers, Lip Everything! Protip: always protect your lips by carrying lip balm with you everywhere! We don’t want chapped lips.
M is for Mascara
Another staple my beauty routine! Mascara makes your eyes look more open and adds a little quick glam to even a bare face.
N is for Nude
Nude shades are for any and everyone!
O is for Oxidize
When foundation oxidizes, oxygen particles change the shade of makeup that's on your face and can cause you to look two different colors. Its any makeup lovers worst nightmare.
P is for Primer
Primer should be the first step in your beauty routine. This helps your makeup stay in place and not slip and slide all over your face.
Q is for Q tip
A very underrated tool in makeup. Q tips can be used for blending, smudging, and smoking out your eyeshadow. It can also be used to clean up messy spots where you may have messed up.
R is for Removing
Protip: NEVER sleep in your makeup. Always remove it before bed. I don’t care how tired I am, I absolutely have to remove my makeup before bed.
S is for Setting Spray
The last step in your beauty routine should always be setting it all in place with a setting spray. This will prevent makeup transfer on clothes and can help your makeup last longer throughout the day.
T is for Transform
You can become a totally different person with makeup. I appreciate my natural beauty but I always appreciate the art of makeup because it does take skill, time, and effort just like any other hobby.
U is for Ulta
Ulta is my all time favorite makeup store! It holds drugstore brands like Wet n wild and also high-quality brands like Anastasia Beverly Hills. There's something for everyone in Ulta!
V is for Vanity Mirror
A good, well-lit vanity can take your makeup from 0 to 100. You want a well-lit vanity so you can see exactly how you're properly applying your makeup.
W is for Wet n Wild
Okay, the wet and wild brand is cheap but AMAZING! Below, I’m wearing the Photo Focus Foundation and Ill Have a Cosmo Highlighter. Yall see that glow?!
X is for x
By x I mean the collabs that makeup brands have done with beauty influencers. Check out
MAYBELLINE X SHAYLA MITCHELL
JACLYN HILL X MORPHE
NICOLE GUERRIERO X ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS
Y is for YouTube
Youtube is where I have learned all my beauty tips and tricks over the years.
Z is for Zzzsleep!
Beauty sleep that is! Remember to stay well rested everyone! Have a great weekend!
Dammit Dy’mond Out!

My all time fav makeup (so far...)
So @park-oppa said that I should make this list lol. So I will include links to everything and a description with each product :D
For reference: my skin is extremely dry so most of the makeup being referred is mainly for dry skin :)
Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Palette : Ummmmmm okay so I have officially decided that this palette is my all time favorite palette??? As soon as I got this palette I pretty much stopped using all my other ones. The shadows are so nice and pigmented and the blend so well 😩😩 there’s a reason why it’s always out of stock!
Stila Magnificent Metals Liquid Eyeshadow in Kitten Karma : I. LOVE. this damn glitter sm. it’s so easy to apply and the color is gorgeous!! I always get compliments when I wear this on my lids and like :/// who doesn’t want that?? I will say it is very quick drying so work one eye at a time and you’ll be good to go!
Becca Moonstone Highlighter : Soooo don’t laugh at me but I got this today! HOWEVER!!! I will say that every single time I’ve gone into a Sephora or Ulta, I have put this highlighter onto my skin and I just love the texture and finish of this powder. Tbh I recommend all of the Becca highlights bc the formula is amazing! And if you buy cruelty-free only makeup 👀 this is your friend
Pixi x Aspyn Ovard Glow-y Powder in London Lustre : So this highlight is really pretty 😫😫 it’s a more affordable option compared to the Becca highlight since it is sold at Target and the formula feels really nice. The only negative is that there is no mirror :/ but I look past it bc it’s so nice
Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray (Single and Duo [duo is a better deal imo]) : Ummmm this really sets your makeup??? Like a damn mom went viral bc she gave birth with her makeup looking perfect bc she used this damn spray?!?!?! It feels really nice on skin and it smells good too 10 out of 10 definitely a recommend lol
Tarte Shape Tape Concealer in Fair Beige : this concealer. THIS CONCEALER!!! Listen everyone loves this concealer for a reason. It feels really nice on the skin and if you’re looking for a hydrating, full coverage concealer then this is the one you want! Just make sure to set it bc it will crease but it’s really nice and isn’t dry feeling.
Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in Porcelain : This is so comfortable for being a medium to full coverage foundation. I will say that even though the undertone says it’s neutral to pink, I still find it to pull yellow as most of the shades seem to.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara (Original and Waterproof) : This mascara.... IS A BLESSING!!! Literally first time I tried it I noticed an immediate difference to my lashes!
Rimmel Kohl Kajal Eyeliner : So I don't wear eyeliner very often, but these liners are so good for tight lining and they stay on the waterline for a while plus they're so affordable. I use Black 1 and Brown depending on the look I’m wearing.
Colourpop Creme Gel Liner (Get Paid and Cry Baby) : These are great for a pop of color and they're only like $5??? I like to use cry baby on my waterline when I want to brighten my eyes, and I use get paid on my inner corners as a highlight!
NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams : These are so great 😫😫 they are moussey and apply great! I will say the darker shades are patchy but that’s to be expected since they are known to be more difficult to make. These are exactly how they sound, they're lip creams with a matte finish, but I do find them comfortable on the lips
ABH Liquid Lipsticks : These are the extreme version of the NYX soft matte lip creams. They're moussey but dry down completely matte. Make sure that if you do use these, you wipe the excess product off the wand otherwise it’ll be clumpy and a hot mess bc of its mousse like formula.
Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid : This formula is one of my favorites!! (Obviously that’s why I’m including it lol) It dries matte, doesn’t transfer, and has a lip plumper in it so it doesn’t suck all the moisture out of your lips.
Estée Lauder Pure Color Love Lipstick in Rose Xcess : Sooo I got this in the mail today and swatched it on my lips and omfg this formula is so comfortable for being a matte. The color is perfect for fall too 🤧🤧
NYX HD Finishing Powder in Translucent : This powder makes my pores DISAPPEAR!!!! I will say though that this powder will flashback as it does say it is an “HD” powder, but if you don’t use flash photography often then you should be fine with using this powder.
Clinique Blended Face Powder in Invisible : This powder is soooo finely milled that it just disappears into the skin and even though there’s a slight tint to it. It doesn’t actually appear on the skin.
NYX Proof It Eyeshadow Primer : This eyeshadow primer is so good at keeping the shadows on even when your eyes get wet bc the primer is waterproof!!!
Lorac Behind the Scenes Eye Primer : This shadow primer is great if you want to use glitters. The nyx primer isn’t good for glitters but aside from that.
Nature Republic Aloe Gel : This makes an amazing face primer just make sure you don’t wait too long for this to set bc you want it to be nice and tacky for it to stick to your foundation. Aside from using this as a primer though, I love this as my everyday moisturizer and definitely recommend it.
MAC Lipsticks in Velvet Teddy, Spirit, Del Rio, and Twig : These lipsticks!!! omg these are some of my fav traditional nude lipsticks they last a long time and feel great on the lips.
MAC Pigments in Tan and Blue Brown : These pigments are amazing!!! I love blue brown’s duo chrome it adds to any makeup look for when I don’t just want neutral eyes and Tan is for when I want a frosty neutral eye both are great. I would recommend buying the travel sizes and it’ll take a very long time to go through these.
NYX Dark Circle Concealer : This concealer is really great at hiding my under eye circles. it’s affordable and doesn’t feel cake-y.

I also think attempted fraud protections should be in place for absentee voting. (though I don know what that would be). That being said, what is the "no acceptable ID categorization? Also, what are everyone thoughts on the reason for "No record of registration?" Error or mostly just people that never registered and tried to vote? Would people in NC be in favor of an auto enrollment like some states are considering?. I have no idea when I started caring about Eileen Fisher and just wanting it because <a href="https://www.opkranma.com/seong-nam/">성남출장안마</a> everyone won't shut up about it when in reality I think the styles are bleh. Totally unaware of how I started caring more about "ethical fashion" (which yeah is a serious issue) more than my own 15k/year earnings which don't support that lifestyle. When did I start wanting a status handbag? When did I start caring enough about designer labels to start imagining having them so realistically that I was googling which companies were in line with my own ethical hard lines (no fur). I dont have problems with religious people, i have problems with the church and religion if that makes sence? I dont think many think the whole thing is bad. But the whole thing not being bad doesnt also make it not bad? The things religion advocates, the not so flowery stuff. Is not just an outlier like you make it out to be. While I am sure there an element of it, this is not just an example of income disparity because it not even that "they aren buying it." Sure, some aren For some it accessibility, for others it is income related. But I think a huge part of it, and this is something she said that stuck out: it that these items are almost treated like limited edition items. They aren given a long enough window 성남출장안마 of time on the shelves before it phased out/discontinued and deemed a sales failure and sent off to like Big Lots or whatever. Calluses on the feet are a common occurrence, but fortunately, it is not difficult to learn how to treat calluses on your own. A callus is an area where dead skin has accumulated to form a thick, protective patch. Calluses develop on parts of your skin that are exposed to an unusual amount of pressure or friction on a regular basis and therefore need to be tougher than the rest of your skin.. A lot of early reviews are very mixed on the quality, especially of the matte shades. Here a link to their instagram post about it: 93fishNC20 Warm Brunette 4 points submitted 8 months agoIt's great that they're listening to feedback but I don't understand why Morphe's Jaclyn Hill collabs release with such difficulty. They delayed the last palette too, due to similar issues.

So I want to buy the Jaclyn Hill morphe palette when it gets restocked but idk if I should get it. I heard a lot of good reviews about it, but I’m not sure. There are two other morphe palettes I want to buy a lot more than the Jaclyn Hill one, but that one is limited edition and even though it’s been restocked a couple times I don’t know how long it’s going to be available. Anyone have it and want to share their thoughts about it? Is it worth it? Or should I just get the other two palettes instead? Ps- I’m a beginner and just starting out with eyeshadow just to let you all know!

Hi guys, how are you all today?
I created the Eye Products Addict Tag back in 2014, and I have done an update of it every year (2 of them probably got destroyed in the recent purge however). My original one can stgill be found here on the original blog. I actually still love the layout of my Weebly blog, but it wasn’t really that visible on that platform. I much prefer the community of WordPress.
So here I am with an update for the new year. If you would like to take part, I will leave a copy of the questions down below.
Favourite Neutrals Palette?
My favourite neutrals palette was quite tricky to pick; I have that many. But the one that I keep reaching for is the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette. I love warm tones on my eyes when it comes to neutrals and this palette so so different from anything else that I own. It is stunning.
What is your best luxury brand dupe product?
I don’t have a lot of dupe products these days because I tend to keep just the products that I love, and try to get rid of any similar items. However, the one that I have kept is the Makeup revolution Iconic Division Reloaded Palette. This is such a shameless dupe of the ABH Subculture palette. I did a post comparing these a while ago and there is honestly no difference apart from the amount of pigment that flies off the brush. I love both of these palettes, but if you honestly want something cheaper, go for the Makeup Revolution one.
Do Primers actually Make a Difference?
In the case for longevity, yes, some primers do make a massive difference. The Body Shop Instablur makes a massive difference to the longevity of your eyeshadow. However, where I don’t think they make a difference is with the intensity of the shadow. You can intensify the pigment by dampening your brush. You don’t need a primer to do this.
Most Disappointing Product?
I do tend to keep products that I love, but there are a couple of disappointments that slip through the gaps. As much as I love the Urban Decay palettes, I really don’t like the singles. I find that they don’t blend as easily and are a bit more patchy than the palette formulas. The shade Loaded is really bad for this, which is so disappointing because it is such a stunning colour in the pan.
What is your favourite eye look that you have created?
This was so hard to choose! My favourite series of looks were my Sara J Maas ones. I loved my Feyre and Starfall looks, and it was so much fun creating makeup looks for all the courts.
What is on your Eyeshadow Wishlist?
I will never stop purchasing eyeshadow palettes. they are my favourite thing to use and collect. The one that I really want is the Too Faced Gold Chocolate Bar. It looks so pretty but my past experiences with Too faced palettes holds me back from buying it; they go hard pan super quick and are a huge struggle to use. Maybe this one is different but it’s a huge expense if I turn out to be right.
Best Mascara
I have three favourites. They all have similar looks in the end; long, thick, false looking lashes. They just make me feel that little bit more glamorous without doing much. And they are the Lancome Monsieur Big, Dior Pump n’ Volume and the Essense Lash Princess. One is certainly cheaper than the others, but I love them all.
Best for Brows?
I’ve been going very low maintenance with my brows lately, choosing just to run a mascara through them rather than use pomades and pencils. My favourite brow mascara is the Lancome Sourcil Styler. I do need a paler colour, but I love the brush on this. It makes it so easy to grab every hair and style it the way you want.
What is the most Expensive product that you own?
I recently sold my Natasha Denona palette so the most expensive product, if I had paid full price for it, is the Smashbox Master Class Palette. This bugger costs £70, and I paid £12. It isn’t my favourite palette, but it is quite nice.
Worst Eye Sin
Mine is definitely not hrowing out my mascaras after 6 months. I’ve had some for nearly two years. However they don’t make my eyes water, so they must still be okay. I know it’s icky, and I should throw them out, but some of them are quite expensive.
The one that you’d take on holiday?
I couldn’t decide between two. I like palettes with a choice of colour and neutrals, and the two that are slimline enough to fit in a case are the Kat Von D saints and Sinners palette, and the Jaclyn Hill Morphe palette. Both of these are so beautiful and wouldn’t weigh too much in hand luggage.
Something Special?
Something that I did want to mention was the palette that Mark bought me. It is the Kat Von D Chrysallis Palette. I would never get rid of this, and the colours are beautiful in it.
And that is the updated tag. If you would like to take part, please share your posts with me. I would love to read your answers.
Have a lovely day, and take care.
xxx

Who They Are: Hira & Hemayal are the gorgeous sisters from Islamabad who run the very classy and amazingly written blog, Her and Hem. Both the sisters share their love for Fashion and Makeup on their blog as well as their Instagram profiles which are filled with the most jaw-dropping looks. They are easily two of the most famous Pakistani bloggers on Instagram with more than 200k people following them.
Why You Should Watch Them: If you like to stay updated about not just makeup but also the latest Pakistani fashion trends, then you have to follow these girls because they share the best OOTDs. They also have a Youtube channel where they share everything from Vlogs celebrating the beauty of Pakistan to the cutest hair tutorials. They also often do live sessions on Instagram which gives you a chance to interact with them and get an unfiltered look of their beauty routines.
What They Had To Say:
1) What’s your favorite skincare brand or product?
We don’t have a specific favorite brand or product, but if we have to choose one, it would be the Glow tonic toner for Hemayal & Tea Tree oil for Hira.
2) The makeup product you can’t live without is?
Concealer – Hira. Mascara – Hemayal
3) The most recent makeup/skincare product that you fell in love with?
Zayfied highlighter – Hira. Bad girl bang mascara – Hemayal
4) A drugstore product that beats the high-end product?
Zayfied highlighter & LA girl concealer
5) Any product that you regret buying?
We do our research before buying products so that rarely happens, but we regret buying the Tarte’s light camera mascara because we accidentally got the waterproof one. It ruins your lashes; we’re not a fan of waterproof mascaras. Oh, & Maybelline baby skin primer didn’t suit us AT ALL.
6) Your recommended products for a 10mim get-ready session?
Concealer, tint, mascara, lip gloss, and a highlighter!

Who She Is: Shehzeen, a.k.a the Desi Wonder Woman can easily be considered one of the first Pakistani bloggers ever whose content has always been the most unique and original. She’s also the winner of the Masala Award for Best Blogger 2017, which should pretty much give you an idea of how immensely loved she is by her followers. She’s currently based in Sydney but of course, it hasn’t affected her desi-ness in any way, and she continues to be the most approachable and modest Pakistani blogger.
Why You Should Watch Her: Yes, she shares some amazing skincare routines, gives the best lipstick reviews and the easiest-to-follow minimalist makeup tutorials, but like thousands of others, we watch her every single day for her stories. Shehzeen’s Instagram stories will literally brighten up your day as you watch her be grateful about the simplest of things (chai, random trees, an organized closet, and what-not) and celebrate every little happiness that life sends her way. She currently types out all her insta-stories so that the followers with any sort of hearing impairment can still understand her, and this just goes on to show how incredibly awesome, caring and down-to-earth she is as a person.
What She Had To Say:
1) What’s your favorite skincare brand or product?
No specific brand, but I LOVE moisturizers. I think we don’t give moisturizers their due time in the limelight. Nothing looks as good when it’s on plump, hydrated skin. I slather on loads of it before applying makeup and usually do two rounds (and let each dry out before putting on another layer). Makeup sets poorly when your skin looks dry, and you end up accentuating lines, etc. when you don’t moisturize enough. There’s a moisturizer for every type of skin so everyone should be putting on lots of it. Well-hydrated skin makes all makeup look so much better, even if you have spots, acne or bumps, etc. Also, sunblock (regular usage prevents sun/aging spots and also over time it can help reduce pigmentation).
2) The makeup product you can’t live without is?
Lipstick. I love experimenting with colors and love, love, love wearing some kind of lipstick every day. I am biased towards matte shades and wear them 99.99% of the time.
3) The most recent makeup/skincare product that you fell in love with?
Ver, very much in love with Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in color ‘Stepping Out”. I progressively grew to love it since I bought it and now that mine’s finishing; I realize how much I love wearing it every day. A very neutral color that also has an impact and since it’s a warm shade, it doesn’t make me look washed out.
4) A drugstore product that beats the high-end product?
I have been a fan of ‘Diana of London Super Longwear Eyepencil’ for about ten years now, and I haven’t looked elsewhere. It never smudges, lasts throughout the day, it is super buttery and soft to put on, and it gives such a good, deep, black pigment.
5) Any product that you regret buying?
Colourpop lipsticks, not regret but they’re quite high maintenance because they’re very drying and feel sticky if you eat greasy food. I prefer wearing products that will last me through the day, and I feel comfortable throughout so even though the colors are so good, I wouldn’t buy them again. Just finishing off the ones I got.
6) Your recommended products for a 10mim get-ready session?
I don’t do very elaborate makeup routines, so I pretty much get ready every day in between 5 to 7 minutes. I’ve been using pretty much the same products for years: Garnier BB cream for oily skin even though my skin is dry/normal (the one made in France), Maybelline Fit Me concealer, Channel Stylo eyeliner or Diana of London eye pencil if I’m feeling like doing my eyes, any mascara (no specific faves), MAC peaches blush and a lipstick that goes with my mood.

What She Had To Say:
1) What’s your favorite skincare brand or product?
Favorite skincare brand would definitely be Dermalogica.
2) The makeup product you can’t live without is?
Highlighters are my favorite! And with that being said, I love the Hudabeauty Golden Sands highlighter palette.
3) The most recent makeup/skincare product that you fell in love with?

Hands down, Maybelline Master Chrome Highlighter
5) Any product that you regret buying?
Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Precision eyeliner
6) Your recommended products for a 10mim get-ready session?
Start with a good moisturizer I love using “Cetaphil moisturizer” works great underneath makeup. Onto foundation, I love using “Maybelline SuperStay Full coverage foundation” as it gives great coverage and is easy to blend. Tarte Shape tape concealer. Huda beauty Easy bake (while I do the rest of my face). Benefit cosmetics Ka Brow Gel. Too Faced Better than Sex mascara. Fenty beauty Fly liner. Luscious cosmetics Powder contour kit. Sephora “Flirt it up” blush. Any highlighter is fine, but my favorite would be the Hudabeauty Golden Sands… Urban Decay All Nighter Setting spray.

Its so hard for people like me, the ones with skin issues and acne prone skin to find beauty reviews on youtube. I feel like all big beauty gurus have flawless skin which means what looks perfect on them might not look so great on me. I feel like although there is a slight change and there are people with skin issues on social media platforms, but they are not enough. Well yeah thats my same picture. One, heavily edited and the other all raw. In 2019 I have decided to edit my pictures as less as I can and talk about skin positivity more. And have decided to make my youtube a platform for girls with skin issues looking for beauty reviews. A platform where girls with skin issues and acne can find a bit of peace. I may not be able to help all but I will do my part. Who is in this with me? I want more ideas and suggestions? What She Had To Say:
1) What’s your favorite skincare brand or product?
My favorite skincare brand is Kiehl‘s.
2) The makeup product you can’t live without is?
MAC Lipstick in colour “D for Danger.“
3) The most recent makeup/skincare product that you fell in love with?
Clarins Pore Control Serum
4) A drugstore product that beats the high-end product?
Revlon Colorstay Skinny Liquid Liner
5) Your recommended products for a 10mim get-ready session?
First I would recommend using a good Foundation, what I would recommend is the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation. Afterward, I would apply my current favorite Mascara from Lancome “Hypnose Drama” for voluminous lashes. Next comes my go-to product for dark circles is the NARS Radiant Concealer. To add some freshness to my face, I would recommend the MAC Dimension Blush in colour “n Telling Glow” and to add some glow I love to use the Hyper Real Glow palette. I end the look with my favorite MAC lipstick “D for Danger”.

Who She Is: An Internationally certified makeup artist who creates makeup and beauty related content on almost a daily basis. Her love for makeup is intense, and this is obvious from her skills. She has recently started her own Youtube channel, and for her first video, she did a full face glam look by only using drug store products so do go check it out.
Why You Should Watch Her: If you love eye makeup then just head on over to her Instagram as she’s simply the queen of eye makeup. She has also recently started doing lip swatch videos, and of course, she’s great at them too. Especially if you want simple, to-the-point tutorials that can transform your look within minutes, she’s the girl to go to.
What She Had To Say:
1) What’s your favorite skincare brand or product?
The ordinary.
2) The makeup product you can’t live without is?
Lipstick, it’s such a multipurpose product. I can use it on my lips, my cheeks as a cream blush and even on my eyes for a hint of monochromatic action.
3) The most recent makeup/skincare product that you fell in love with?
I fall in love with new makeup products every day! The recent purchase that I’m loving are InglotXjLo AMC pigments, those shades are so stunning, and they can really amp up any eye look without making it look overdone.
4) A drugstore product that beats the high-end product?
Drugstore products are continuously upping their game when it comes to makeup. There are so many products in my opinion that are either as good as or even better than high-end products. The Makeup Revolution highlighter in golden lights is a good dupe for NARS Albatross. The Codi Airspun is almost as good as the Laura Mercier translucent powder. The Pixi beauty highlighters can give any high-end highlighter a good run for their money. The Maybelline Age Rewind concealer is what most influencers prefer over the high-end concealers; I could just go on and on here.
5) Any product that you regret buying?
I’ve kinda regretted buying the Rose Gold Remastered Palette by Huda Beauty. The mattes are great, but while I like the shimmer shadow shades, I don’t like the texture and formulation. While I like using my fingers to apply shadows, I want to be able to use brushes too, and these shadows only work well with fingers for me. Had it been a cheaper product, I wouldn’t have minded that much, but because I made such an investment, this felt like it wasn’t worth the money overall.
6) Your recommended products for a 10mim get-ready session?
Start with a good moisturizer (any that works well with your skin type and absorbs quickly into the skin). Then SPF (don’t skip this step during the day). Apply your foundation (again, depending on your skin type and the type of coverage you prefer). Go for a liquid or powder highlighter and apply on all the high points of your face to illuminate your look. Don’t forget to apply to your brow bone and inner eye corner. Apply your lipstick and mascara (if you coat the roots of your lashes it’s going to frame your eyes just like an eyeliner would).

I'm honestly shook as I type this because I just found out that the CEO and founder of the most revolutionary skincare brand that I'm about to review passed away last night. The Ordinary. The popular 🇨🇦 skincare brand under @deciem that has shaken the skincare industry with its super (SUPER) low prices, no BS one ingredient products which makes it less overwhelming for people who haven't studied chemistry and aren't skincare geeks and of course, the minimalist packaging I adore. A fancy skincare brand would cost you 20x more when they add one of these active ingredients in their products, you'll literally get what you want for below $10 while another brand will have the exact same thing for $100+ (not exaggerating) Ok so me, being a skincare geek, and also a science student, went crazy and ordered so many of their products, if you're not from a medical or science background, the product names may get overwhelming for you, so I'll briefly explain what it is. Today's star is Salicylic Acid 2% solution. Salicylic acid is a BHA (Beta hydroxy acid), that gently exfoliates the skin. No exfoliants,no matter how promising they sound can unclog pores unless they can pass the skin's oil barrier, BHA's have a special structure which allows them to penetrate deep into the skin and break the bond holding deadskin cells together. (Basically it's like spring cleaning your skin rather than just dusting the dirt off the surface to make it look presentable) It's really popular for acne and blackheads and is often said to be drying, however the reason I love this product so much is that it's actually hydrating which makes it perfect for someone like me who suffers from cystic acne. This product is a saviour if you've blackheads, will literally melt them, but for acne, not really, it will prevent and reduce the appearance and speed up the healing process but won't be the "magic fix" for me, it's perfect for the day time because it absorbs in the skin quickly, you know it's not gonna clog (infact do the opposite) and you get this gorgeous glow. For me, it's been a favourite ever since I got it, so it gets my stamp of approval. Shop at: @bnexclusives Price: $8.40

Who She Is: Fatima started her blog wabisabi just to share whatever knowledge she has related to anything. She has no theme whatsoever and talks about food, fashion, beauty, mental health, work, fitness, art, writing or whatever she’s into at that time! Her goal is to be as honest, raw and as relatable as she can be.
Why You Should Watch Her: Fatima will be your best resource when it comes to honest, in-depth reviews of beauty and skin care products. Other than that, you’re surely going to appreciate her aesthetics and photography skills.
What She Had To Say:
1) What’s your favorite skincare brand or product?
This is so tough, but if I had to choose one or two skincare products for life, I’d go with Multani mitti, rosewater and nature republic’s aloe gel. A brand I really love is makeup revolution. The products are so high quality and so inexpensive!
2) The makeup product you can’t live without is?
My most used product is the Huda beauty matte lipstick in the shade bombshell, so I guess I’ll go with that.
3) The most recent makeup/skincare product that you fell in love with?
Milani’s baked blush in Luminoso! It contours, sculpts, highlights and makes your cheeks look all rosy and dewy and pretty. I hate wearing makeup and the feeling of having a lot of products on my face, so this has been a lifesaver!
4) A drugstore product that beats the high-end product?
The drugstore has really upgraded its makeup game in the last few years, and personally, I don’t really think you need to buy high-end products anymore because the quality is very similar. My two drugstore must haves would be the bourjua healthy mix concealer, and the Maybelline lash sensational mascara!
5) Any product that you regret buying?
So many. I’m guilty of throwing cash on unnecessary stuff; I’m always searching and trying out new stuff. People often think I’m “beauty conscious” or something, but I’m not. I just like to test stuff. I buy products, test them out and then forget about them. (Not proud of my habits) That’s why I decided just to start a page and spill the tea about all these products that are constantly being raved about. But yeah, I’m not a fan of sheet masks, I still don’t understand what they’re supposed to do because all of them, regardless of how expensive they are, they do the exact same thing.
6) Your recommended products for a 10mim get-ready session?
My 5 go to products to look “presentable” would either be the Maybelline fit me concealer or the LA girl pro conceal, for the eyes, I’ve never tried a better mascara than the Maybelline lash sensational, for the lips I’d just dab a little bit of red lipstick to get the rosy natural effect, and a swipe of the Milani baked blush in Luminoso on the cheekbones and you’re done! You can add eyeliner for which I’d choose the makeup revolution dual stick eyeliner pen.

Who She Is: A biomedical engineer by profession and a beauty blogger by choice, to some, this might seem like an odd combo, but Jadirah believes that one should pursue everything that they feel passionate about, no matter how different they seem to be. Biomedical engineering fuels her mad scientist dreams (as she wants to give this world a scientific breakthrough) while on the other hand, blogging has given her the opportunity of connecting with people and evolving as a person.
Why You Should Watch Her: Having been an introvert all her life, Jadirah had some major skin issues since childhood but putting herself on social media has boosted her self-confidence as she feels happy to share her experiences as she now knows that they are relatable to so many other girls. She doesn’t want to come across as a physically perfect person because nobody is and she doesn’t want youngsters to dwell on deceptive images of beauty that are often spread through social media. Instead, she wants every girl to accept herself as she is and feel confident in her own skin. Nothing makes her happier than a comment that says that someone feels more confident after watching her videos. Jadirah also gets brutally honest about breakouts, skin care and you get to learn from her some great pieces of advice and tips on dolling up darker skin tones like the right foundation to use and so much more.
What She Had To Say:
1) What’s your favorite skincare brand or product?
Klairs
2) The makeup product you can’t live without is?
Eyeliner. Always need to have my wings on.
3) The most recent makeup/skincare product that you fell in love with?
Vitamin C serum.
4) A drugstore product that beats the high-end product?
Luscious cosmetics contour kit.
5) Any product that you regret buying?
Nuxe brightening cream. It was for a whopping 7000 PKR, and it did next to nothing for me. I was actually wheedled into buying it by the salesperson at Sephora.
6) Your recommended products for a 10mim get-ready session?
Klairs moisturizer, MUFE smoothing primer, Kryolan TV paint stick 508 as an orange corrector, Revlon photo ready foundation, la splash Artkitekt Eyeliner, Luscious contour kit, wet n wild booze brunch highlighter, Rimmel stay matte powder, Essence rock n roll mascara, MAC twig lipstick.

What She Had To Say:
1) What’s your favorite skincare brand or product?
I absolutely adore the Freeman beauty masks, and I’m on a quest to try all of them.
2) The makeup product you can’t live without is?
I’m a lipstick maniac; you will hardly ever see me without a bold red lipstick on. So I’ll have to say that liquid mattes are something I can’t survive without.
3) The most recent makeup/skincare product that you fell in love with?
Stick foundations are something that I’ve been sleeping on and recently bought one for a college event. I loved the coverage, and I definitely want to try more.
4) A drugstore product that beats the high-end product?
Makeup Revolution’s Pro Fix Makeup & Illuminating sprays are better than many high-end ones.
5) Any product that you regret buying?
Oh boy! That’s one long list, but I often get foundations in a wrong shade, so that’s one of my constant regrets.
6) Your recommended products for a 10mim get-ready session?
Maybelline Babyskin Primer & FitMe concealer, Rimmel pressed powder, Essence cosmetics glow for it eye & face palette, Essence mascara & Pixi Beauty glow mist to lock everything in.

Who She Is: Sarosh Pervaiz But, an MBA student who started taking interest in Colors and everything related to them which is how she came closer to the world of makeup. Being a healthy girl right from the start, she was always fascinated with how makeup can bring a massive change in a person. Having faced criticism and bullying for the way she looked, she aims at changing the perception and the ideology that always revolves around plus size girls in our society.
Why You Should Watch Her: Sarosh uses her profile as a platform to change the society’s way of thinking about curvy and plus size girls, to motivate them and to make them feel confident about themselves.
What She Had To Say:
1) What’s your favorite skincare brand or product?
Both Olay and Raya’s visage.
2) The makeup product you can’t live without is?
I can NOT live without red or pink lipstick. I don’t need anything else, just this and I’m sorted.
3) The most recent makeup/skincare product that you fell in love with?
I recently fell in love with Garnier Hydra bomb masks in charcoal and Lemon peel mask. My skin is super sensitive and darkens really fast, but these two products have bought a significant change to my face without causing any reactions. Also, my face feels so super baby soft after using them.
4) A drugstore product that beats the high-end product?
A physician’s formula has the best bronzers in the market. You can buy either a $10 bronzer and slay, or you can buy a $60 bronzer and still not get the same result.
5) Any product that you regret buying?
I regret buying Fenty beauty’s Stunna lip paint in ‘Uncensored’. If doesn’t stay long on the lips and gives a weird streaky look.
6) Your recommended products for a 10mim get-ready session?
Always have a mascara, an eyebrow pencil, a kajal (if you’re a kajal person), a red or pink lip color, the very same for cheeks too (you can always blend the same lip color on your cheeks) and a shade brighter than your concealer.

I am using this Mom's Touch Baby Oil by #WBbyHemani for my newly born baby. I must say that it is much much better than many high end international brands. So reasonably priced and the oil has a great quality. It moisturizes the baby skin leaving it super soft and smooth for hours and my baby is loving it. I am using it daily to give an oil massage to my little one. 👶 I am going to buy a new bottle soon as the previous one is just about to finish. Also going to try the other baby products by this brand. I recommend it to all the moms and moms to be. Dont waste your money on expensive ones when you can find your own local brands with such amazing quality and low pricing. 😉 . . . What She Had To Say:
1) What’s your favorite skincare brand or product?
Bioderma always comes up with good quality skin care products, especially the Sensibio H20 cleansing water that does wonders.
2) The makeup product you can’t live without is?
I can’t live without the J. Note Luminous Silk compact powder. It is a must-have for my makeup bag.
3) The most recent makeup/skincare product that you fell in love with?
I fell in love with the Born Pretty Cosmetics lipsticks. They are just perfect, the packaging, the quality, pigmentation, texture, fragrance, shades and everything about them.
4) A drugstore product that beats the high-end product?
Entice cosmetics liquid matte lipsticks are really of great quality, and they can actually beat any high-end lipsticks like Huda beauty, Kylie and other expensive ones. Other than this, I would love to include Masarrat Misbah & Luscious Cosmetics products as they too are as good as any high-end brand.
5) Any product that you regret buying?
I actually regret buying the conatural better than ubtan face and body scrub. I haven’t used it more than once as it is too hard to use and it has a very close expiry date, so mine expired even though the container is almost full.
6) Your recommended products for a 10mim get-ready session?
Beautify by Amna rose gold serum, Artdeco cosmetic compact mineral powder foundation or the J. NOTE Luminous moisturizing liquid foundation, Makeup revolution NEW-TRIALS vs. NEUTRAL palette, the Masarrat Misbah eyeliner, ELF baked highlighter and blush. I also highly recommend Entice cosmetics liquid matte lipstick in Skinny Dip as it is a great shade for normal use.

She has worked with Sephora, YSL, Chanel, Gucci, Estee Lauder, Lancome, Dior, The Balm, Clarins, Givenchy to name a few. Why You Should Watch Her: Apart from sharing magical makeup tutorials and beauty treatments, Zara is also an entrepreneur, and you can visit her website to shop for great quality 3D Mink Lashes, Eyemakeup brush sets, and Eyelash tools.
What She Had To Say:
1) What’s your favorite skincare brand or product?
Let me tell you!! If someone comes to you and says oh this moisturizer is good you should try it, don’t fall for that!!!!! Please!! I have spent 1000s of dirhams listening to bloggers and reviews, and then think why it doesn’t work for me? We all have different skin types and different concerns. Your skin is what you feed it with. My diet is all junk whereas yours might be the high protein or vegetarian or organic one. So what works on my friend might not work for me or you. So be wise!! Go to the store, get your consultation and get a sample!! It’s free!! Test and try it before you buy!!
2) The makeup product you can’t live without is?
I have combination/oily skin type. My holy grail foundation is EsteeLauder Double wear!! I just love it!! My shade is CASHEW. Lasts you 12 hours in Dubai’s summers straight without getting into fine lines, transfer proof, no need to touch up and sweat proof! A classic red lipstick I loved Mac ruby woo but now I love Tarte liquid matte in BAE. And sometimes id rub the same lipstick on cheeks too 😀 i have good eyelashes and brows so these are two products that id die for!
3) The most recent makeup/skincare product that you fell in love with?
I am quite a lazy one when it comes to skincare but I love to exfoliate because I tend to wear makeup every day due to my work. The BEST exfoliation is in ur kitchen!!! Sugar & oil, mix it and rub on your face and you will have baby skin!! Tadaaaaaaa!! I have tried multiple brands and this served me the best since years!!
4) A drugstore product that beats the high-end product?
Okay let me be honest, I have worked and played with multiple brand products. One thing that I always tell people is instead of buying 10 cheap products and cringing that it doesn’t last or work so it’s better to buy one product and be happy about it! isn’t? But there are a couple of good catches in the market like Maybelline gel eyeliner, Maybelline fit me foundation, Medora lipsticks are THE closesttttt dupe for Mac lipsticks (can’t emphasize more), Makeup revolution concealer is a close dupe for Tarte shape tape concealer.
5) Any product that you regret buying?
Yes!!! Many and many!!!!!!!! Thats not because the product was bad, that was because i dint have the right knowledge and i heard reviews and went to buy thinking its going to be great on me too!! Learn your undertones, learn your skin texture, learn your eye shape and then invest in products. And if you want that flawless face, girl stop dreaming on that. The media is all about fillers/botox and surgeries, last but not the least photoshop!! So go easy on yourself and accept the skin you have! Remember you are beautiful.
6) Your recommended products for a 10mim get-ready session?
I have oily skin, so for me I love Clinique moisture surge moisturizer, Smashbox photo finish primer, Estee Lauder double wear foundation, any black eyeliner, a volume mascara (i love too faced better than sex mascara) and you can never go wrong with a classic RED LIPSTICK or you can spice it up with colorful ones too like oranges/maroons/bright pinks!!!

2) The makeup product you can’t live without is?

3) The most recent makeup/skincare product that you fell in love with?
Anastasia Beverly Hill’s Amrezy hightilghter.
4) A drugstore product that beats the high-end product?
Sweet Touch’s magic concealer.
5) Any product that you regret buying?
I am quite choosy in buying products but I would not like to pick colorpop highlighters anymore.
6) Your recommended products for a 10mim get-ready session?
Maybelline’s age rewind concealer, luscious cosmetics blush with a lip tint, and a mascara can make you go anywhere.

I was watching an Emily Noel video, and the topic was if something happened to your makeup collection – if it was destroyed/stolen, etc. (echoing Emily’s moment of silence) – what would be the first 10 products you would buy? I thought that was such a great topic and it got me thinking about the first 10 things I would re-buy.
And recently, we have had some major damage to our house due to SQUIRRELS. They have caused plumbing damage, electrical damage, and damage to the ceiling in our garage. Now that they have staked a claim in our house, I can only assume my makeup collection is next. Honestly, they weren’t even scared when some repairmen were right in their faces. They didn’t run. They just sat there, staring. At one point, one made eye contact with Matt. They mean business. And now that they know about me, they are going to go after Jill and take all of her makeup, too. So Jill – you should really be thinking about what you’d replace right away so you can be prepared for this inevitable problem.
Emily went mostly the drugstore route, but I have to admit… most of my products are not drugstore. But I wanted to try to find a drugstore version for some of the products I am choosing, just for fun. There are just a few things that I do not know of a drugstore equivalent, but I think I can do it for most of my items. So let’s do this.
First things first… foundation (1). I have fallen in love with my Too Faced Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation in Porcelain ($36). I love it because it’s not too heavy or too matte but it doesn’t break up around my nose midday, so it’s a win. However, if I needed to pick a drugstore version, I would go for the L’Oreal Pro-Matte in Classic Ivory ($12.99).
To finish up my face, I need two powders (2 & 3). I realize I’m extra, it’s just what I do. So, the first thing I use is the smallest bit of Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder ($23) to set around my nose to ensure my foundation doesn’t break up. Since I don’t use this all over my face, I use the small travel size, and it will last me a long time. Then I use the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette ($62) with a big brush to sort of set/finish all of my face besides my nose. This is the one product that I don’t know of a drugstore dupe for. I actually dropped mine on my bathroom floor last year and it tragically broke. I immediately ordered another one. Like, I did not wait even one day. If I was going to use a drugstore version of the setting powder, I think I would try the Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder ($7.99.) Do y’all know of a drugstore version of the Hourglass palette? Let me know.
Next, I am going for brows (4). I went far too long without doing my brows, and now my face just looks so weird when I see myself in old pictures. Y’all know my go-to is Glossier Boy Brow ($16). But as I mentioned in this blog, the Essence Make Me Brow ($2.99) is pretty good, too. I like the applicator of the Boy Brow better, but for $3, I think I could live.
Mascara (5) is probably the product I would buy next. I am loving a new mascara, but I think if I was re-stocking my collection, I would go with my tried and true Too Faced Better Than Sex ($23). I don’t own one right now, as I am playing with a few others, but if I was going with drugstore, I would obvs go with L’Oreal Lash Paradise ($9.99).
Y’all know I love eyeshadow (6) and I think I would pretty immediately buy the Morphe Jaclyn Hill palette ($38). It has all of the colors I would need for weeks and weeks, If I only had this palette for awhile, I would be just fine… until I could get more. I feel like $38 is a pretty fair price – almost drugstore- for the amount of shadows you get. However, if I needed to go True Drugstore, I would get this SophXMakeup Revolution 24 Eyeshadow Palette ($15). I have been eyeballing that palette for awhile actually, since I have heard the quality is really nice, not to mention I do occasionally watch SophDoesNails, who is the Influencer who collaborated with Makeup Revolution on this palette. It has a ton of shades you could use for every day but also several pops of color. It looks very versatile and honestly, I might just buy it.
I have to go back and finish my face, so I would actually re-purchase another Hourglass palette, the Ambient Diffused Light Palette. And as I’m looking it up, I am discovering it doesn’t exist anymore: It looks like the Diffused Light palette I already mentioned on the outside (which is why I had to mark mine with nail polish because I have opened the wrong palette too many times) except it has a shade to set under your eyes, a blush and a bronzer. It’s the perfect palette and now I am going to treat it like it is a tiny baby since it has gone extinct. It was a Nordstrom exclusive and it is so good. Now I have NO IDEA WHAT I WOULD BUY. WHY IS LIFE THIS HARD.
I will have to come back to that but I know for sure I need highlight (7) so I would buy the Colourpop In-Nude-Endo palette ($18). It is honestly the most perfect highlight palette in existence, and since it’s $18 for 6 highlighters, I think that counts as a drugstore price also. I used that highlighter palette when I was self-tanned on my cruise. I used it on my face and body and as my tan faded, I had color options for all the varying colors of my body. (It was a weird week.)
OK, I have calmed down about that Hourglass palette situation. I know I would need a bronzer (8) and I would want to get my bougie bronzer aka the Marc Jacobs O!Mega bronzer but ONLY in Tan-Tastic. It was a limited edition shade last year but it was so popular, they are bringing it back. (THANK GOD WHAT WOULD I HAVE DONE.) It’s not back yet, but it’s coming, I promise. The greatest thing about this bronzer is that I’ve used it every day for a year and you can still barely tell I’ve used it. There is no kickback whatsoever, to the point where I am like, is there any bronzer on my brush? But there is. This color is perfect as it’s not super orange-y warm and it’s not too grey-cool. It’s perfect.
If I had to go for a drugstore version, I would try the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer ($8.99). Jill (and the world at large) have told me how great it is, so I would definitely try that.
As for blush, I prefer the Hourglass Ambient Light blushes, but I would really want a whole blush palette (9), as one blush wouldn’t work for all occasions. So I think I would go for this BH Cosmetics Nude Blush 10 Color Blush Palette (which I do own – it’s bomb and it happens to be $6 right now. That’s right. $6 for 10 blushes.)
Finally. I would need a lip product (10), and I think if I could only have one lip product, I would splurge a little bit and pick up the Fenty Gloss Bomb ($18). I own this and it’s amazing. It is a universal color so it really isn’t super pigmented. It just makes my lips look shiny and juicy and that would work with any look I would create out of the products I have chosen above.
There were a couple products I couldn’t get in my ten when I couldn’t re-buy my Hourglass palette. And honestly, I think I might knock out the Laura Mercier powder for the Bare Minerals Round the Clock Intense Cream-Glide Eyeliner in Midnight. I am also missing a concealer… and I honestly don’t know what concealer I would buy, as my favorite one is by The Brand The Must Not Be Named, and since I no longer buy from them, I need to figure out a different solution. And I’ll be testing a few things over the next few months, but if the squirrels got all my makeup, I would stick with the products above over a new concealer.
So what about y’all? What would be the first 10 products you would re-buy if the squirrels came after YOU? Tell me in the comments. And Jill – you know what to do.
Xo, Lauren

Makeup as Monopolistic Competition
As a consumer, there is a certain amount of money I am willing to pay for the products I buy. Products I spend more money on than I should are makeup products. Being an active member of the makeup community, I have a high willingness to pay for certain beauty products. As we learned in Econ 20A this quarter, monopolistic competition is a market structure in which many firms sell products that are similar but not identical. In the makeup market there are so many different firms that sell products that are basically the same, but have slight differences. To name a couple there’s Tarte, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Too Faced, Morphe, Becca, Kat Von D, any many more. These companies all sell eyeshadow palettes, highlighters, foundations, lipsticks, and a variety of other makeup products that have the same functions but vary in small ways.
For example Too Faced has a palette called the “Sweet Peach” palette that contains pinky peach colored shadows with some darker colors (personally I own it). Anastasia Beverly Hills has a palette called the “Modern Renaissance” palette. This palette also contains pinky colors, but varies in the fact that it is a bit more of an intense pink. The one by Two Faced is $49 while the Anastasia one is $42. The Sweet Peach palette does contain a couple more shadows (which is why I bought it vs the Anastasia palette) so the higher price does make sense, but as one can see in the photos, a lot of the shadows look quite similar.
The preferences of the consumer and the amount they are willing to pay determines which firm is the one that’ll take that consumers money. This was only one example. All these companies are selling us all these products that have the same functions, but only vary slightly, whether it be in price, color, etc. We as the consumer decide which one keeps our money.
As a consumer of these products, I like to take my time in makeup shops, like Ulta and Sephora, to choose the products that appeals to me the most. Most of the time, I’m driven by the price and the quantity I’m getting. Take this palette for example.
This is the Natasha Denona “Sunset” palette. It’s priced to be sold at $129. It contains only 15 different eyeshadow colors. Even though it is a very pretty palette, it is much too pricy for a broke college student like myself. Now take a look at this palette.
This is the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe palette (which I personally own). This palette contains 35 different shades! And its priced at only $38! Much more in my budget! I’m sold to the palette which a lower price and greater quantity. It even has many similar colors to the Sunset palette. Now I know cheaper prices often indicate poorer quality, in this case not really. Yes some palettes are better than other, but its really personal preference. These companies vary their products to drive consumers towards them. Yet, a lot of these products are very similar. If we are unsatisfied by one product, we can easily find a replacement because there are so many other options out there that are so similar. And as a constant consumer of makeup products myself, I enjoy having this liberty of having all these products I need (or at least I think i need) and being able to choose the one that best accommodates to me. If I don't like it, I can simply switch to another brand and get a similar product but with that slight variation. I get to have this because makeup products are a part of monopolistic competition.

Why swatches don't tell you everything about a product
Something that I’ve been seeing a lot lately is people swatching a product and automatically dismissing it because it doesn’t swatch well. On the other hand, I’ve seen a lot of people talking about how awesome something is just because it swatches well. The problem with this is that swatches really only give you an idea of what a shade looks like and what a formula feels like, nothing else.
A lot of people will claim that they know how something will perform based on how a formula feels but I don’t buy that. There have been way too many times that I have swatched something and thought a product would perform a certain way based on how the formula felt and was wrong. In other words, just because a powder feels dry doesn’t mean it’s not pigmented or will be patchy. Also, just because a formula feels buttery doesn’t mean it’s going to apply well. I’ve had buttery feeling formulas that swatched beautifully yet apply like crap just like I’m had really dry formulas that didn’t swatch well, apply like a dream.
The other thing that people should keep in mind is that swatches can be super misleading because they don’t always represent how a product is actually applied. The exception to this is probably lip swatches because most people will swatch lip products on their lips. (Yes, I realize I don’t do lip swatches but that is because I’m a little insecure about my lips and teeth. I’m working on that.) However, most people will swatch eyeshadows, blushes, highlighters and bronzers on their arm. How is that misleading? Well, when a lot of people, myself included, swatch a blush, highlighter, or bronzer it’s usually a concentrated swatch over a small area to show off the shade but when these are applied to the face they are spread over a bigger area and blended out. That can be super misleading but with eyeshadows it’s way more misleading. When eyeshadows are swatched on the arm, usually the same amount of product that would be used on the eyes is spread over the arm which is a much larger area This can be why some shadows swatch so bad. One, shadows aren’t necessarily meant to be spread over such a large area. Two, most people don’t swatch products like they apply them meaning they swipe the shadow on their forearm with either their finger or a brush. I don’t know about anyone else but I know that’s not exactly how I apply eyeshadow to my eye lids. Yes, some people do pat on powder instead of swiping but they are still putting a smaller amount of product on a larger area.
Then there is what I like to call blogger/influencer bias. Before anyone says anything about this I don’t think this applies to a lot of bloggers or beauty influencers but I do think it exists and it’s something that should be kept in mind. What is blogger bias you ask. It’s when a blogger/influencer swatches something and attempts to make a product either look good or bad. This is another thing needs to be kept in mind because I have seen some bloggers/influencers try to seriously hype a product that I had and I knew didn’t swatch like what they showed unless the shadows were wet. I have also seen some people barely touch a powder then claim it swatched terrible. Basically, what I’m saying here is if some one wants a swatch to look a certain way, they can make it look that way.
That’s why I don’t think swatches tell you everything about a product and yes, I decided to do this post after all the drama with the swatches of both the U.D. Naked Heat palette and the Morphe X Jaclyn Hill palette. So that is it for this post, next up will be my thoughts on the L'Oreal Visible Lift Blur foundation so until my next post.

New Products Won't and Wish List
It's been a while since I posted one of these so in case you haven't seen one of these before this is basically a combination of the products I want or are thinking about getting and the products I don’t have any interest in. In other words this is my wish list and an anti haul list. Let's get to it.
Becca X Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette -This looks beautiful however I am pale AF and I don't think that the shades in this palette would be a good fit for me. Becca blushes are also very pigmented and I personally prefer a more buildable blush so again I just don't think this palette is good one for me so I won't getting this.
Becca Light Chaser Highlighters - I love Becca highlighters but my highlighter collection is getting a little ridiculous so I don't plan on buying any of these. Don't get me wrong these look beautiful, I just have a lot of highlighters and I've got to scale back when it comes highlighters.
Becca Liquid Crystal Glow Gloss - These are on my wish list for sure. I love lip glosses and I especially love ones with a pretty shift so these are right up my alley. Honestly, I don't know if I will purchase one of these to try but I'd like to.
Becca Sunlit Bronzers - I'm on the fence about these mainly because I love the butter bronzer on my skin tone but I have had a couple of my friends who have bought these tell me, I need to try them. I will admit that these do look amazing on my friends but I really hate spending extra money on a bronzer then again, I used to say the same thing about brow products and I love my Anastasia brow wiz so I may end up trying one of these. Basically, I'm not saying I won't buy it but I'm not really sure it's on my wish list.
Kylie Cosmetics - I won't be trying any of the summer collection. A few of my friends that are Kardashian/Jenner fans have bought some items from other collections. I have gotten to play with some of that makeup and honestly, I wasn't impressed with most of it. A few of the shadows in the Bronze palette did really impress me but overall, the quality of the different products were hit and miss and I feel like you're paying for her name rather than the product so I won't be purchasing any of the collection.
Natasha Denona eyeshadows - So I have a lot of makeup obsessed friends with expensive taste and a few of them have bought some of these palettes and after playing with them, I won't spent that much money on these. Don't get me wrong most of the mattes are very nice but the metallics aren't that good especially considering the price so these are a won't.
Morphe X Jaclyn Hill Palette - I won't be buying this but it has nothing to with this being a Jaclyn Hill palette. I like Jaclyn Hill. I've learned a lot from watching her tutorials but this palette just doesn't speak to me like some of the other palettes that are coming out do. Don't get me wrong, some of the shades look really beautiful but I'm just not digging this palette as whole for me.
Too Faced Glitter Bomb Eyeshadow palette - Nope won't be getting this. I like glitter but I really only use silver or gold so this would be a waste of money for me.
Tarte Stick Foundation - I probably won't buy this but I can't say I definitely won't. I'm not usually a stick foundation fan because they are usually full coverage and I'm not a full coverage kind of girl. However, I do like Tarte and their products have been really impressing me in the past year so I may give this a try but I'm not planning on it. In other words, if I get this it's going to be a spontaneous purchase.
Tarte Ready, Set, and Radiant Skin Mist - I won't be trying this either. Don't get me wrong I love Tarte but I've got a couple fixing mists that I really love that costs less so I will be stick to those.
Tarte Clay Play Face Shaping Palette - I like the idea of this palette but I won't be purchasing it. I've got a lot of Tarte palettes and this just doesn't look different enough from what I have to spend money on it. Also, it kind of reminds me of the Kat Von D shade + light palette and honestly, if I was going to buy something like this I would buy the Kat Von D palette.
Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette - So I bought this yesterday during the Sephora 1 day pre sale and it should get here tomorrow (thank you flash shipping). In the past couple of years, I have gone from only wearing cool tones to loving warm tones especially oranges on my eyes so naturally I had to try this palette. I love my Naked 3 still and I did like the Naked 2, I just wasn't using a lot of the shades so I gave that one to my niece but I still liked the formula. I'm hoping I like this as much as my Naked 3 but this was on the wish before yesterday, now it will be on my review list.
That was my won't and wish list. A lot of these products I was specifically asked if I was going to try but I did add a few new and really hyped products to list as well. If you guys ever want to know what products I would like to try or the products I'm not going to get please feel free to ask or message me. Next up will be a review of the Maybelline Hot Vivid Lacquers so until my next post.
