For instance, if you like peanuts, he'd make you little chocolate bars sprinkled with peanuts or have some delicious peanut filling inside. Overall though, he'd just make you chocolates just because he can.. especially when you tell him you're on your period or just feeling more emotional than usual.

-Tendou, the type of boyfriend to definitely lower down your parents' guard upon meeting them. He's an entertaining person who'd tell your parents fascinating stories and describe how much he loves you in ways that even you'd be surprised to hear.

He'd like this position the most because this stance is the one where you're intimately close to each other. i think ushiwaka probably feels the same way about tendou's "guess monster" nickname as hinata feels about kageyama's "king of the court" nickname

like. i imagine when he first heard it, ushiwaka thought it was probably just a cool name he'd gotten for being so unbelievably good at guess blocking. he probably even called him guess monster, sometimes, and tendou didn't say anything bc he was used to people continuing to call him that no matter how many times he asked them not to, so he just ignored it.

until one day someone calls tendou that, but they say it in such an unmistakably mean way, ushijima realizes they don't mean it in the way he thought. similar to the scene where tsukkishima explains to hinata why everyone called kageyama "king of the court". that person probably laughs at ushiwaka's confusion and tells him why tendou got that nickname.

and ushijima just gets furious

at himself for calling tendou that, at tendou for not saying anything about it, at everyone who's ever dared called him that awful name.

he snaps, and after that he never brings up the topic again— no one in the team does. no one's ever seen hin that upset over anything

If the members found out that Ushijima was in a relationship, they will initially think that he was joking, but at the same time they knew he wasn't the type to joke around, so they were like, "HOW?!" They didn't even think he was capable of liking someone. All he cared about was volleyball, but apparently that wasn't the case.

So when they finally got to meet his girlfriend, the first thing they asked was, "You don't happened to be threatened by him, right?" The members knew Ushijima wasn't really the type to threaten, but they knew others could mistaken his words that way that they couldn't help but ask.

"No, of course not. Why do you say so?" Y/n asked confused while Ushijima had a confused face as well. "Why would I do that?"

"N-Nothing..." The members just shook their head as they tried to process everything.

Once they processed everything, the members were determined to help Ushijima out with his relationship since they didn't trust him when it comes to relationship. They wanted to make sure that there was no misunderstanding between Ushijima and y/n. But they will soon see how pink the air between them is.

Ushijima was so gentle with her and just looking at his eyes, there was no way y/n will think Ushijima doesn't love her anymore. They saw them holding their hands tightly as they walked around and Ushijima gently pulling her inward to avoid bumping into others. They even saw him smiling time to time as he listened to her. This side of Ushijima caused the members to rub their eyes in belief. "Are we seeing this right?"

Ushijima has always been a reserved and unexpressive man, but for those who have been close to him, they know that this inexpressiveness is not an impediment to be someone very concerned about his own. Despite that, there was a side that he himself was unaware of and that had not yet come to light for everyone.

Until you came along.

You were both in college, he working on his sports career and you on your career related to journalism. You practically met him because of an assignment you were asked to do with your classmates, a sports-related report. 

Wakatoshi was big and imposing, his stony gaze made you nervous at first, but you managed to strike up a conversation with him. 

The acclaimed "Japan’s cannon" was the MOST docile man you had ever met in your life, naive and overly transparent.

You had been charmed by the boy, although you had to be resourceful to get him to talk to you. After that project, you didn't have any more contact with sports, but you didn't care about that. 

You became interested in volleyball and used the pretext to approach him again. 

Ushijima noticed your growing presence on his radar, but without giving it much importance, as you looked busy talking to several people present at the training. You were in and out of the place, always carrying some notebook handy with your pen. 

"Really your strength is impressive" you tell him one day after finishing his training. "I imagine you've trained very hard since you were little, haven't you?"

His stoic expression fixed on you, well, having to lower his gaze because of the size difference between him and you. You didn't get the blunt answer you were hoping for, it was simply a dry yes. 

You weren't going to give up just because of that. 

You tried again and again, until you became a constant in his life. Your stomach clenched with excitement the first time he was the one who took the initiative to talk to you.

To know more about you.

You invite him for coffee afterward and he accepts without objection. 

"You look pretty passionate about what you do" you hear him say. You lift your gaze from the sandwich to notice him and smile at him. 

Wakatoshi listened to you patiently and connected too much when you entered the waters of the sporting world. When you told him that he was the reason you became interested in volleyball and sports journalism, he felt a great warmth in his chest, so much so, that it was inevitable to smile. 

Everything pointed to the fact that from that moment on, he could never get you out of his mind again.

Your relationship was blossoming slowly but surely, Ushijima is quite the gentleman, you thought constantly. He cared about you, about your health, that you rest and eat well, hydrate and be happy. 

Because there has been no better discovery that behind that stoic face, hides a man who loves to pamper and spoil you.

Treat you like a princess. 

He genuinely loved to give you things as gifts, whether he surprised you by seeing a dress you had loved, new shoes to match a new outfit or your medicine to calm your menstrual discomfort. 

He left you a copy of the keys to his apartment in case you needed to study somewhere quiet, after all, he lives without roommates. You could sleep over if you wanted to. 

Were you tense? He helped you with massages. Were you feeling sick? He'd take you to the doctor. Did you need love? He'd make sure you got it all night long.

If you asked him for the moon, he would personally bring it down for you.

But to speak only of his love is an understatement in everything that really happened in the relationship, because you did not lag behind with your displays of affection. 

You supported him in everything that involved his career, taking advantage of the fact that your area allowed you to do so. You cooked for him, you tucked him in, you were there with him every moment. You got along very well with his father, something he quite appreciated, just as he appreciated that you were also able to get along with his former Shiratorizawa classmates. Especially with Tendou, his best friend. You helped him rediscover himself and open a new perspective on life and the world.

But still, time passes, and so many years of love and lust-filled nights were clearly going to end with you holding a positive pregnancy test.

You sighed in relief thanking the gods that the Olympic games had come to an end. 

Yeah, well, in these years of relationship you discovered that Wakatoshi could be quite passionate in bed. Sometimes enough to make an attempt on a poor condom trying to withstand hard onslaughts that would promptly release a load too heavy to hold back with latex. 

You guessed that during the games one must have broken without them noticing, or you just didn't give it enough thought. 

Watching your belly grow was fascinating for him, and more fascinating for the press to see Ushijima Wakatoshi show the world an unknown and exploitable side for their magazines and newspapers.

If you were his princess before, now, you are his queen expecting a princess. 

Although you both initially worried about how a baby might affect his sports career, you were supportive enough to go along with it. Ushijima sought advice from his father, but also received plenty of help from Romero. He felt reassured when both men presented him with all the ways to balance his work with fatherhood and marriage. 

"You should rest," he tells you as he hugs you from behind, his hands gently caressing your swollen belly. He was so excited, his frequent smiles gave him away, inside you was a little princess he was looking forward to meeting. 

"I need to move" you reply as you wash the dishes. "I'm not going to stay lying in bed for months until I give birth"

You remember in your youth not understanding why pregnant women insisted on doing so many things instead of resting and enjoying themselves during pregnancy. You can understand it better now, there is a certain feeling of uselessness that haunts you and you don't like it, your husband is constantly watching you to remind you not to overexert yourself. 

Still, in your last weeks, you were unstoppable. You felt almost no contractions and the last thing you wanted in life was to have to give birth by C-section. 

You cleaned the entire apartment, took forty-minute walks, tried to exercise.

You did it all! But it still seemed like the pregnancy would never come to an end.

You were so sad that Wakatoshi decided to comfort you with some libido. He did his best not to hurt you so he could please you.

Oh, but the way he managed to do it was the trigger for your body to finally decide that you should go into labor. You were almost past forty-one weeks, it was a relief to know that at last your princess would arrive. 

Hearing you scream made his stomach knot, you are strong and he knows it, but it didn't stop him from worrying that you were delivering the baby of a man who is over six feet tall and well, tall you clearly are not. 

When the noise stops, Wakatoshi feels that his heart finally manages to return to calm. His hand never let go of yours. 

"You did good, sweetie" he whispered against your forehead as he deposited a comforting kiss on your skin.

You felt an enormous happiness to see your baby placed on your chest while the medical team cleaned and tidied up the room before moving you and the baby to where you could rest and monitor your health. 

Wakatoshi watched you, recording the image in detail in his mind. Soon your laughter snapped him out of his trance. 

"Baby, you really were a huge pain in the ass for how small you turned out to be" you joked. 

Your husband smiles, you're right, his baby is a pretty little princess.

Tiny, unruly, troublemaker and too spoiled by her father. You thought.

The years flew by when your daughter was born. You were so thankful that Wakatoshi did not abandon you emotionally at any time as you had feared, it was something so recurrent in motherhood that you had even psyched yourself up in case it happened to you.

But that never happened, neither when you were in Japan nor when you moved to Poland, because Ushijima Wakatoshi would always move heaven and earth to always take his beloved wife and little princess wherever he went. 

Your daughter is quite a case, you expected her to inherit your husband's calm temperament, instead, she inherited yours but with multiplied energy. Her battery never ran out, but she was giggly and overflowing with joy. 

A lucky girl who had a devoted mother like you and a father like Wakatoshi who can never get enough of the love he gives to both of you and so must spoil you more and pamper his daughter like the good daddy's princess she is. 

But sometimes he overflows so much love for you that your belly again finds itself conceiving a new life. Maybe now it's the turn of a prince, maybe it's another little princess. 

You still have months to find out, but for Ushijima, he has a lifetime left to continue loving you and his precious daughter, Daddy's little princess.

oh totally!! i just think that semi and reon are probably the most approachable out out of the third-year starters—yamagata has serious RBF, ushijima is their untouchable idol, and tendou . . . well, tendou's tendou. semi and reon, on the other hand, are much more mild-mannered and relaxed, so people often talk to them more. they probably get the most friends who cheer for them outside of the organized shiratorizawa cheer team

also, semi's literally a musician. i know we all generally that he started in high school (or younger) and practiced throughout, so people definitely fell in love with the cute bad-boy-looking guitar (bassist?? piano?? whatever) player who turned out to be a total sweetheart like UGH i'd be so soft. the other third-years pretending to date him on his behalf is so fucking funny tho oh my god like can you imagine the gossip mill at shiratorizawa???? everyone is so confused before they probably just end up concluding that semi is dating all of them but then they're also like "why don't they all just show up at once???? wouldn't that be way more efficient??"

of course tendou catches wind of this and so the next time someone asks semi to meet behind the building or whatever EVERYONE goes with him and this poor starstruck sap of a first-year has to face down the rest of the third-year starters. reon is the only reason they're not shitting their pants while semi kindly rejects them and so they get to live to tell the tale

On the floor

In your second year of Highschool, you moved to Japan from (country name). It was pretty alright and you were still getting used to the language barriers and school.

It was after school hours and you were laying on the carpet in the common dorm area, the fan was on full speed. Summers in Japan are no joke. You reach for another chip, completely in a different world while watching some series on Netflix that you don’t even notice the door open.

Ushijima stands over you “Jima?” You call out, completely clueless why he’s staring at you.

“It’s Ushijima” he says in a low voice, almost so you couldn’t hear it. “Oh.. I’m sorry Ushijima-“ he cut you off “You can call me Jima…”

You look back at your phone and bites your lip, in broken Japanese you ask if he wants to watch the series with him. He agrees and you pat the carpet, scooting over so he gets space. You give him an AirPod and offers some chips to him.

So there the two of you lay, in complete silence. You didn’t necessarily understand each others language but actions did speak louder than words anyways.

(I am laying on the floor eating chips and watching The glory lol and I will gladly write a full scenario on this.)

Sakusa and Ushijima weren’t the best of friends but that would soon change. Suddenly a social butterfly came crashing into their life.

(Name) went to Nekoma Highschool in Tokyo, they had met on a volleyball training camp. (Name) were definitely the nicest one on the team if you asked Jima and Omi.

They quickly became close friends and started spending their afternoons together, FaceTiming, studying, going to the store, playing or just sleeping and enjoying each others company.

It was summer and Jima and Mimi, came to visit you in Tokyo. Most of your days were spent either on your small balcony, wrapped up together on your outside bed, in the shade or out exploring the big city. The amount of books and movies you three read and watched were astronomically large. Yet Ushijima offered to carry all the books you picked out when you were shopping.

You were alright with anything, as long you could spend your time with your two favorite people. They didn’t always say much but they didn’t need to either. It’s like the three of you just understood each other more than others.

henlo everyone!! i’m going to post another one of these #coffee headcanons because i’m in the running for a new coffeeshop job. enjoy!!

Shiratorizawa:

ushijima: grande ice water. his mother doesn’t allow him to have anything else :( but if tendou’s in charge of the starbucks run, he gets his boy a grande iced white mocha with sweet cream cold foam.

soekawa: a caramel macchiato. it’s simple enough but has a distinct flavour.

semi: he’s a little bit pretentious, so he orders something that’s a seasonal drink. that seasonal drink is an irish cream cold brew. it’s got the manly coffee with enough sweetness because he’s secretly a baby.

ohira: he’s getting a hibiscus refresher. tastes nice and isn’t sweet.

tendou: when he’s not drinking orange monster, he’s having an iced mocha with raspberry syrup. he’s wild but has refined taste, so this is sweet yet subtle enough for him.

yunohama: doppio espresso over ice. yes, he drinks it like that.

goshiki: nothing says bright colours better than this mans, he gets a kiwi star fruit refresher with no water. he wants the straight battery acid.

shibata: shaken espresso with oatmilk. it’s simple, and the sweetness is very subtle. it’s also one of the easier things he can memorise for when he gets nervous at the counter.

shirabu: now he’s full on pretentious. he used to say he was too good for starbucks, opting for only macchiatos from a small coffee shop, but medical school humbled him when he found out how much studying he actually had to do. somebody please take his starbucks card, this is his fifth nitro bomb of the day.

kawanishi: he’s a bit picky and a little headstrong, so he’s definitely getting a pink drink with no berries. yes, you heard me correctly. i’ve never seen a guy like this not getting a pink drink.

akakura: iced peach green tea lemonade. it’s a refreshing drink that pairs well with anything, just like him.

yamagata: trad misto. he finds espresso to be too rich, but he still likes the steamed milk of a latte. regular coffee satiates him, so this is his favourite drink.

sagae: another caramel macchiato drinker, though shirabu gets on his case for it being “too basic”.

umeda: just gets a regular grande pike, though he waits a bit to drink it because he doesn’t like when it’s too hot.

his bandmates don't believe that he played volleyball in high school. they're like "you? a jock?" and he's like "where do u think i got these muscles from" and they're like "you literally watch supernatural don't lie to us". so then he's dragging ushijima wakatoshi the newest rising star on the schweiden adlers to come to the open mic they're performing at and his band is like :O. ushijima is polite as always. he says that he likes their music

going back to the tumblr thing but semi's english is pretty good as a result. he gets his american/english-speaking mutuals to do his english homework though

i actually think he really likes comforting cozy slice-of-life sim games, like stardew valley and animal crossing and such

okay this is the part where i retcon the entire haikyuu timeline bc i really like the idea of everyone piling into reon's and tendou's dorm and watching reon game on a switch

or just like. gathering in the common area and squishing onto the couch or whatever while reon roams his island collecting fruits and bugs or whatever

(these games are the only sense of peace and stability reon gets at this goddamn school)

anyways it's funny bc tendou screams every time reon runs into a wasp's nest and yells "RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN" until reon either gets stung or successfully evades them

admittedly i do think the ds and gameboy are sacred and, for the sake of nostalgia, are definitely used to play pokemon (of which everyone has a favorite gen and get into endless arguments about it)

tendou DOES teach goshiki how to pirate shit and get ROM hacks and emulators and such tho

reon and semi are the most popular members out of the third years btw

they're both polite and calm and generally nice and don't have an RBF that makes people nervous

too many people keep trying to fight yamagata just bc they think he's glaring at them and he is SO tired

yamagata (slightly inspired by my own recent purchase) decides to get a phone charm to see if it'll help him keep track of his phone btw

he mentions this idea to semi who mentions it to reon who mentions it to tendou who blabs to the whole team. and guess what? everyone gets the absolutely brilliant idea of gifting yamagata a phone charm!!!

so now he has like a dozen different ones. and he's STILL losing his goddamn phone, so now his convos are like "have you seen my phone? yeah right now it's got a little phone charm hanging off of it, so just keep an eye out for that. what does the charm look like? oh i meant it's a charm that is literally a phone. of course it was tendou, who else do you think it was"

tendou has also taken to putting stickers on yamagata in an attempt to make him "less scary". sometimes yamagata knows about it. sometimes he doesn't.

kawanishi: "yamagata-san, pardon me for asking, but why do you have one-punch man on your butt" yamagata: "i have what now"

tendou meets someone he can talk to manga about online in some fandom/community forum or whatever and he is absolutely BETRAYED to find out that it's akagi michinari of inarizaki

okay not really but he is SUPER dramatic about it and keeps going on and on to akagi about how he can't be caught fraternizing with the enemy

akagi is just like "yeah yeah now are we going to talk about the complexities of yoru being both a victim and a perpetrator and his inevitable redemption arc or what"

aran is still scared of tendou btw. like he won't outright admit it but he's still not over the time tendou yelled that he was going to piss in his pants from all the way across the court.

when akagi tells him they've become friends aran is like "are you SURE about that"

also i know tendou gets pissed off at suna. but i think it'd be REALLY funny if suna got pissed off at kawanishi

something something "he should be more sure of himself, he'll never stop aran-san like that" something something "and i thought i was a sarcastic little bitch" something something "no i DON'T think he's cute what the fuck are you on about"

(i didn't mean for it to go that way when i started typing it but i DO think it'd be an absolutely hilarious development)

i htink kawanishi and shirabu go on a lot of study dates, holing up at coffeeshops and boba cafes with their backpacks and notebooks and spending hours on homework and studying

shirabu worked his ass off to get into shiratorizawa and he intends to keep it that way!! he's a model student. probably even the top of their year. everyone knows him as the high-achiever.

kawanishi is there to make sure shirabu doesn't get lost inside his head and gets him take breaks and makes sure he doesn't get sucked into the endless soulless spiral of academic rigor at an elite private high school

basically: shirabu's consistently on the path to burnout and kawanishi is there to keep the flames alive

maybe that's another thing, then, that helps kawanishi and suna become friends. because suna's been there. suna knows, sometimes, that feeling of imposter syndrome. feeling like you don't belong. feeling like you have to prove your worth, your entire existence, just to be able to stay in a place you love, even if that place might not love you back.

and kawanishi knows shirabu would rather shove a volleyball down his throat than open up about the bad days and the bad feelings, so he picks suna's brain instead to find out how he can help. what he can do. what shirabu might be thinking and how kawanishi can fix it

you can't, suna tells him, you can't fix something like this. he has to learn to live with it. to grow around it. to believe in something better until it's the only thing he believes in. but having people you care about care about you helps. it did for me.

and so kawanishi is there to draw the blanket around shirabu's shoulders, and he's there to put snacks on shirabu's desk, and he's there to flip shirabu's textbook close when the clock hits eleven they need to sleep, and he cares for shirabu in all the ways shirabu can't care for himself and hopes that it's enough
