1. how many works do you have on AO3?

28, of which 11 are in German, 17 in English. Of the English fics, 2 are podfics and 1 is filk (for the lyrics someone else wrote). I should re-record that last one, I've become a much better singer since then.

2. what’s your total AO3 word count?

55,059 words

3. what fandoms do you write for?

Various, and rarely a lot in one fandom these days. Mass Effect and Rivers of London are my current go-to fandoms.

4. what are your top 5 fics by kudos?

What we're made of (Harry Potter: trans Viktor Krum at the Yule Ball with Hermione)

The first 3 are no surprise because they're all in rather big fandoms. The first one was for the "Trans Wizard Tournament" so it got lots of readers from there. The next two contain popular ships of their fandoms. The last two are a bit of a surprise, but they haven't that many kudos overall, just more than the others, and they are both from Yuletide and probably get some of their readers from there. The rest of what I write is either in niche fandoms or very niche within a bigger fandom or not in English.

Yep, although I can take a while.

6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Under the burning sun (Mass Effect: Kaidan and Shepard go back to Virmire to grieve Ashley)

A fic about two survivors of a mission grieving their colleague who died on said mission. One feels responsible because he made the decision who to leave behind, the other feels guilty because he was saved while his colleague was left to die. Doesn't get any angstier than that in my book.

7. what’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Phew hard to say, perhaps it's "Spürst du die Funken" (see my answer to the translation question)

8. do you get hate on fics?

Never got any hate mail, but then I don't have much of an audience either so the chances are slim.

9. do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I started recently, as in, over the last 1.5 years or so. There's one unpublished and unfinished fic that was actually the first, which only consists of a series of sexual fantasies so far but will lead to inadvisable undernegociated kinky sex between two characters who suck at communication and have loads of emotional baggage between them. There's another one that I actually published, a ... kind of weird metaphysical sex scene in which two characters have sex in the real world but also one of them has sex with the other's metaphysical alter ego on another plane of existence.

10. do you write crossovers?

I have 1 crossover WIP that I haven't touched in a long time, Rivers of London x The Old Guard, re:immortality. I tend to be intimidated by them because doing the different sources materials justice within one work sounds more challenging than if it's just one on its own.

11. have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I'm aware.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Nope, but there's a half finished translation into English of one of my German fics, a HP Dean/Seamus getting together story with gray-aromantic bi Dean and gay Seamus.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes, with @shakespearerants, but it's not published yet.

Also, the vast majority of my writing output (easily 20-30k words a year, used to be as high as 50k) is for a forum-based, long-form text writing RPG, which may count as co-writing and may count as fic.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?

I once wrote a 70k Harry Potter fanfic in German, a schoolgirl romance between Minerva McGonagall and Pomona Sprout (with my own character backgrounds for them). It would need much editing to be in any way presentable - the text is missing the character arcs I intended to put in it, I decided to change one of the characters' age and school year halfway in, and the ending would need a lot more preparation to be satisfying. And while I'm proud to have written 70k words of fanfic, I cannot overstate how little interest I have in connecting with others over Harry Potter these days, and I wouldn't enjoy interacting with readers about it. So I'm never going to share it and it's never going to be anything else than a first draft.

Edit: I just noticed I read the question wrong (I was very tired yesterday), but I'll keep my answer that way because the point stands: I'd like to have finished it because more satisfying than having written a 70k fic would be having it polished and published, but for aforementioned reason that's not going to happen.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Writing distinct character voices, I think. At least in German.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Dialogue! It always takes a lot of editing work to make it lively.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Ohh, lots. Basically the question is "what are you trying to achieve"? Why would the character do it? If you write dialogue in another language, which of the characters understands it, and do you want your readers to understand it? If two characters switch languages, why not say "[...] she said in French"?

The one fic in which I put the most thought about how to convey language is probably "What we're made of", the trans Viktor Krum fic, which is written from his perspective, but I elected not to add a orthographic representation of his accent, because he wouldn't be aware of it. I did give him some grammatical errors that I thought native speakers of Bulgarian might make in English - but just in direct speech and not in his internal monologue (all errors are mine there) because I assume his internal monologue to be in Bulgarian.

I did use some cyrillic, namely I used the spelling of "Hermione" from the Bulgarian HP4, from the scene in which Hermione tells him how to pronounce her name, because he would think about the pronounciation by way of the cyrillic spelling.

Also there's this sentence: "She pronounced his name ‘Victor’, as if it was English. A short i, the o as a short a, almost like ъ, and the r in that strange way English people pronounced their r, with bared front teeth." (ъ being the Bulgarian cyrillic letter for a schwa sound)

I haven't had any good opportunities to actually write dialogue in another language. One reason would be if the character was code switching, but then I'd want to be sure (in most cases) that readers who don't speak the language could still follow, so I probably wouldn't put the whole dialogue in another language, just a phrase or two, and have another character react to that. It could be fun as an easter egg for readers who speak both.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

The first story for which I tried writing a continuation was some horse book set in Cornwall with Endurance riding.

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

Always the one I finished last? I don't know. I'm always proud that they're finished, and they all scratch an itch.

So a friend and I started with a small premise that I hadn't seen covered in any fanfics, and it quickly exploded into this big AU. And I just feel the need to share it. The premise was "What if Ryota didn't escape and get Chisa's help after Nagito got shot". And it ended up becoming a Civil War AU.

See it starts with the premise of Junko subjecting Chiaki to the brainwashing procedure, who then in turn helps put Nagito through it (the memory of her restraining his wounded body haunts them both after rehabilitation). And they along with Mikan go back to Class 77 to make sure everyone thinks things are okay, while Junko reconditions Ryota.

Except...there's a snag. Peko's injuries from her fight with Mukuro, combined with Nagito seemingly no longer being concerned with the Ultimate Soldier, makes Peko and Fuyuhiko think "Something screwy is going on here". And it leads to a schism when Chiaki tries swaying the class to go along with her (into a trap).

On one side are Fyuyhiko, Peko, and Chisa, who are joined by the suspicious Imposter, Hiyoko, and Gundham. Who also manage to sway Ibuki and (just barely Kazuichi). Meanwhile Chiaki manages to win over Sonia, Nekomaru, Akane, and Teruteru through their faith in her. And with a bit of pressure from Mikan they convince Mahiru to go along with them. Exploiting the suspicion that Fuyuhiko was responsible for Sato's murder.

So the AU is heading towards a Tragedy with half of Class 77 brainwashed, and the others trying to capture and save them. With a lot more high emotions this time, especially in regards to Imposter with Ryota and Mikan, as well as the four Twilight Syndrome girls (Hiyoko and Mahiru most of all)...But then we went even more off the rails with the idea that Chiaki thinks to herself "Wouldn't it be so despairing if after all of this, the mastermind was killed by their own thralls before she got to see the fruits of her work?"

Which leads to Chiaki conspiring a coup de tat of Ultimate Despair, and convincing Izuru to side with her. Making incapacitating Mukuro and killing Junko trivial. With Chiaki deciding that actually it'd be far more fun to make Junko's class like the rest of them than go through all that Killing Game silliness. Leading to them going after members of Class 78 to make into more Ultimate Despairs.

Mukuro manages to escape and forms a VERY uneasy alliance with Team Chisa. Peko and Fuyuhiko making it clear that they consider her responsible for what's happened to their classmates, and that they won't hesitate to slaughter her if she gives them one reason.

In the end on Team Chiaki's side we have Chiaki herself, Nagito, Mikan, Ryota, Sonia, Mahiru, Nekomaru, Akane, and Teruteru from Class 77. And Makoto, Kyoko, Sakura, Aoi, Taka, Chihiro, Leon, and Toko joining them from Class 78. Meanwhile on Team Chisa we have Chisa herself, Fuyuhiko, Peko, Imposter, Hiyoko, Gundham, Ibuki, and Kazuichi. And Mukuro, Byakuya, Sayaka, Mondo, Celeste, Hifumi, and Yasuhiro joining them from Class 78. With Syo as Team Chisa's double agent within Team Chiaki. With Izuru kind of low-key supporting the Despairs if he feels in the mood for it.

Just imagine all the character interactions that could go on. Fuyuhiko having to deal with the ramifications of his murdering Sato outside of the Neo World Program. Imposter working alongside the real Byakuya. A whole lot of angst about people close to them being on the opposing side (Imposter vs Ryota and Mikan, Hiyoko vs Mahiru, Gundham vs Sonia, Mukuro and Sayaka vs Makoto, Mondo vs Taka and Chihiro).

And the shipping! Plenty of Ikuzono potential here, with Sayaka being Mukuro's biggest advocate after everyone else feels betrayed by her. Aoi and Sakura being Despair girlfriends. A very twisted dysfunctional Komanami where Chiaki hurts Nagito and he sometimes hurts her back. Which leads to a whole lot of angst after deprogramming, with both struggling to look each other in the eye. And also...Despair Makoto x Servant/Despair Komaegi!

Is this the same person who started the Vampire Chiaki AU? Because if so, I think I'm getting a sense of your narrative tastes, lol! I love how intricate this is.

The first thing that jumped out to me here was the idea of Despair Mahiru and Non-Despair Hiyoko, mainly because I'm so curious as to whether their friendship could survive that.

Like, if the dust settles and Mahiru eventually isn't despair anymore, Hiyoko's trust was still violated by someone she really cared about, and that's a pretty big deal for her.

Also, Toxic Despair Komanami sounds like it could be very fun. They both like to play games, after all! They would be ruinous. I think I prefer shipping both of them with Non-Despair Makoto than Despair Makoto, but that's because I like to whump the luckster, lol.

look, I can not afford to fall into another rarepair, I'm already holding up the nivannedy fort basically alone when it comes to fic :'D and in all honesty, I'm not really super drawn into this one? at least not yet lol let's see what happens when we get s2 (see, when, not if, i'm manifesting it into existence)

It was with strange sort of melancholy that Leon watched President Graham's plane fly away into the sunset. As far as the official truth went, everything had turned out perfectly: the threat was neutralized, international relations were saved, and no massive losses of life had been suffered. Leon would probably get a pat on his back for this one, for getting the job done.

Only if people knew how that was only the polished front to hide the festering wounds within the system itself. That was something that was quietly buried, steadfastly ignored, and Leon felt truly and well alone. There weren't many people he could even begin to consider trusting, as he was certain Wilson wasn't the only rotten apple in this bunch.

Leon had almost forgotten he wasn't alone, but then Patrick stepped a little closer. "So. I'm new to this. What do big heroes do after a win like this?" There was easiness to his smile that Leon sort of envied, as Patrick truly thought that they'd fixed the problem properly. And although Leon knew better, he didn't have the heart to break that faith just yet at least.

So he gave a shrug, lifting his eyebrows questioningly. "Wanna grab dinner?" He'd been starving pretty much ever since they'd gotten into the submarine, it was about time he'd get something to eat.

Patrick looked a little surprised, but it soon made way to a smile. "Sure!"

They ended up at a pub at a walking distance, just the two of them. Patrick had asked a couple of the security guards they'd worked with to join in, too, but they'd declined and he'd shrugged it off in what seemed to be his usual easygoing manner, not minding one bit.

After their dinner, they ended up staying for beers, then another round of beers, and after a while even Leon had lost track of time in the pleasant sort of way that rarely happened to him anymore, in this post-Raccoon City life. It was nice, just spending time with someone you got along with so easily.

By the time they left, Leon was slightly tipsy, and Patrick a little more. He wasn't quite swaying on his feet, but there were even more quick smiles and laughter than usual, and it was clear he was somewhat inebriated.

The night air was cool and clear, but Leon barely had the time for a deep breath before Patrick swayed against him, leaning heavily onto his shoulder. "I thought you'd be a stuck up asshole," he said, with emphasis, tilting his head to look Leon straight in the eye. Slowly, a smile spread on his face, and he seemed entirely sincere as he went on. "But you're cool! And you're nice." He nodded. "Really nice."

Then he leaned in and kissed Leon.

Leon was tipsy enough to kiss back before he even thought about it. And when he did, he let himself have a second wherein he considered letting himself have this. They'd had a nice evening, they'd enjoyed each other's company, who said they couldn't enjoy the company in other ways, too?

But that only lasted for a brief moment, before Leon gently pulled back and gave the slightly confused Patrick a soft smile. "You're nice, too," he said. "And you're drunk. Which is why this?" He gestured between them. "Is not happening." With a little pat on Patrick's shoulder he pushed him back upright properly. "Let's get you a cab."

There was no protest from Patrick, who just rolled with it, as he always seemed to. He gave Leon a little wave and a grin as he climbed into the car, leaving Leon standing outside the pub alone.

Letting his eyes fall shut, Leon took a deep breath, enjoying the way the cool night air felt in his lungs. The sounds of the night life were comfortingly normal around him, and he smiled a little to himself as he pushed his hands in the pockets of his leather jacket and started walking.

Maybe today had only been a small reprieve, but at least he'd gotten to breathe a little easier for a moment. He was going to make things right, one way or the other.

And maybe then would come the time in his life when he could let himself have nice things.

Maybe one day.

Oh boy this game. I have no words that can even describe how much I LOVE this game. The storytelling was fantastic and I got really invested in not just the main 8 but in all of the minor/side characters too. I know I have Therion, Cordelia, Tressa and Leon specifically but if you want to throw in any of the other characters in the tagset you totally can, same with any side ships (here’s looking **You don't have to include ALL the characters I selected here in your fic, you can mix them up or follow a prompt I have. I only request that you include at least one of the ones picked here <3

Therion - I love him and would die for him he is my perfect little trash bandit. It kills me how he longs to belong somewhere but is equally afraid of it for very good reasons. Because of this he’s so heavily guarded and *sobs* his reactions to people (the 8 and Cordelia) genuinely caring about his wellbeing? It just hrrk! I’m so happy I started with him, that I got to see his growth throughout the story and how his emotional wounds finally seem like they’re on their way to healing. Tressa - My adorable little gremlin, she’s such a little badass! While money may be on her mind a lot she’d never cheat anyone! She’s genuinely kind and her travel adventure is so interesting because it’s about exploring the world, experiencing new places—and while she has a certain understanding of this—she learns the true meaning of sentimental value in things. I love her so much. Leon - I love how much of his character is wrapped up in some mystery and that he seems like a tortured but mature soul (as you can see I have a type.) Cordelia - I love Cordelia and she is entirely underrated. She’s been through quite a lot and her faith in my best boy helped him come back into the world able to to trust and love people again. She’s very soft and caring and now that her stolen heirlooms have been restored to her she can come back into the world herself.

Gen ideas:

Tressa and Therion teasing TF out of each other doesn’t matter what about or who about. I just love them and they have such a brosis vibe

Tressa spear fishing and shocking Therion or everyone by it, you can add any and/or all of the characters in the tag. (Inaccurate Tressa, "What? I live in a Port Town my dudes.”)

I know this is cheesy but Therion having his first Apple Pie would destroy me ; __ ; it can be when he’s little or an adult, AU, Canonverse or Canon divergent it can be a Birthday treat to himself, it can be the first thing he pays for with money he earned on his own. Man this movie messed me up and all the right ways. Honestly one of the most chilling things was to see all of the Burnish being used as engine fuel… I like—ngl I cried, and then when Lio gets used as the core? ; __ ;

Honestly I will be happy with anything you come up with, there are so many possibilities just know that a heavy angst fic is A-okay by me, but if you want to do a flufflier or humor fic those are also so Very VERY good. Lio - Um yes I love him. He’s just such a tortured soul and true cares about people. I like—honestly he is my favorite character. The way he used his flame to protect Galo? How hard he fights for the Burnish? How hard Gueira and Meis fight for him and stop at nothing to save him speaks volumes about the kind of person he is. I just love him and want him to have nice things

Galo - This wonderful brilliant dumbass. I also love him and despite me calling him a dumbass he’s actually pretty with it when it comes to adapting to his environment. He also takes in new information and rather than reject it out right he examines it critically. Like the way he approached Kray about the Burnish experiments was not the smartest… However, he still went to find the truth no matter how much it could have hurt him and that really defines what kind of guy he is.

Gueira & Meis - So unfortunately we didn’t get to see much of these two but what we did get to see was GOLD. I love them, I love how they fight so hard to protect their fellow burnish and how loyal they are to Lio. Like omg when the Burnish were being rounded up but they used the last of their strength to save Lio, believing—knowing that he would come back for them? *hrrk* My heart.

Ah… my poor beautiful tiny manga fandom… I love this 6 volume series so much. The storytelling can be fast paced at times but it doesn't even phase me considering how detailed and intricate the themes, lore, relationships and monsters & magic are. For this fandom anything goes, like any AUs, tropes, canon compliant or divergent is all welcome here.

The Defender – 6w5 (Counterphobic/Introverted) //Loyal, courageous, responsible, suspicious, defiant.

Basic Fear: Of being without surety and guidance.

Basic Desire: To have alliances and support.

Guru, I have refused to acknowledge and/or make sense of your idea and the several incomprehensible ramblings on climate change . You have repeatedly failed to tell your readers the depth of your knowledge on the concept climate change. How is climate change affecting the African continent? What are the visible hallmarks of climate change? What's the threat level it poses on the African continent? How do we reverse the trend of climate change? Kindly don't tell me about your grossly inordinate $2, 000,000, 000.000 demand from the industrial world. One of my intellectual bibles is the book published in the early 1980s by United States economist theoretician, George Gilder, titled, "Wealth and Poverty". In the chapter in that book, "Necessity of Faith", Gilder postulates that conflict can really be good thing, and can catalyze progress. With that as one of my ideologically guideposts, I most often would embrace conflict. For example....

Between 2014 and early 2018, one of my fiercest antagonists on social media - especially in the Free Speech forum; and over a dozen APC WhatsApp forums - was a 40ish government bureaucrat who loved bragging about his double Master's degrees acquired in European universities. (I would not mention his name. He died a few months ago). In THE OSWALD HANCILES COLUMN, I had published a four-part serial titled, "The Tribal Card: Not a Wise Option for Any Governing Party" - warning against tribalism in Sierra Leone's politics; tracing the historicity of Political Tribalism as a failed political strategy in Sierra Leone's political tapestry. This man (who I would call X) argued vehemently and relentlessly that Political Tribalism does not (did not) exist in Sierra Leone, and Political Tribalism "is the concoction of disgruntled senior staff in the APC government... like Oswald Hanciles....". He was unrelenting!! I dubbed him on social media my "2nd Best Friend" - writing again and again that I preferred him to others among the educated elite because he would come out OPENLY to conflict me. One of his favorite line of attack against me was this: "Oswald Hanciles is sitting on the bosoms of 'other tribes' and complaining" incessantly of "Political Tribalism". That, put in another local adage is this: "You can't be sitting on my shoulders as I am carrying you and you are complaining that my head is stinking".

I suspected though that X's words could have helped to my marginalization at State House - in my job as media adviser to former President Ernest Bai Koroma. I was inflexible and belligerent in my thesis warning against Political Tribalism.

After the presidential election had been won by Retired Brigadier Maada Bio as Leader of the SLPP in March, 2018, X (who hailed from one of the major ethnic groups in the Northern Province) was on social media bitterly complaining about "ethnic persecution" by the Bio Administration - that which before March, 2018, he had ferociously argued didn't exist.

My emotions are 98% of the time fully reined and directed to positive emotions. The positions I am taking on Climate Change goes back 36 years. As the brain and co-founder and CEO of the SAVE MY FUTURE CONSERVATION SOCIETY (SAMFU) in Liberia in 1987, and Editor of GREENLOVE magazine which SAMFU published in 1989, I argued for a "Marshall Plan" for Africa to save Africa's tropical rainforests. In the cover story in GREENLOVE magazine, I excoriated the Western nations as the culprits of global warming - not intimidated by the reality that GREENLOVE magazine was financed by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF)-International; WWF-United Kingdom, the German Forestry Mission to Liberia...

The SLAVE SHIP-FREEDOM SHIP conceit was hatched by me in Calabar, Cross River State in southeastern Nigeria in 1992 - after a conflict with the white British man, Nick Ashton-Jones. Nick had given my company, "GREENLOVE/Nigeria", a contract to produce and publish PANGOLIN magazine for the Cross River National Park Project (CRNPP). The CRNPP, an agency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for the conservation and preservation of Nigeria's largest remaining tropical rainforest, was being managed by the WWF-United Kingdom. That conflict with Nick got me out of my only source of livelihood in Nigeria, where I was a refugee who had gone to Nigeria in 1990 from war-torn Liberia. That conflict left me moneyless; 'contract-less'; homeless... The result of that conflict is the SLAVE SHIP-FREEDOM SHIP... which is 'sailing' today to be a potent force for Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation measures for Africa; and under whose aegis I demand "$2trillion annually for man-made Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation measures for Africa from the richest nations of the world". Point: Conflict can be a good thing.

My debate with you could help me finetune my ideological postures; and adjust my strategies, where necessary. I am an ideologue as regards my views on Green Emancipation and pan-Africanism, but I am not opinionated. I can be pragmatic.
