It seemed that the timid creature had some nerve and that was always a good thing. Maybe Madison had underestimated her. “Thank you. You’re not so bad looking yourself.” She decided to not respond in an egotistical way like she normally would because it might scare the girl off. “So I take you don’t have a habit of walking up to girls in the park and telling them that you think they are pretty?” That much was obvious by her actions. She also wondered if Violet even knew who she was.

He knew she’d had another bad day when he found the blood splattered tissue in the bathroom garbage. He frowned, still on the fringe of acquaintance with the sullen girl. That was among the least of his worries, as she still had no knowledge of his lacking pulse. No matter; it wasn’t as if the whole reveal had to come any time soon. If at all.

He found her holed in her room, (formerly his room, but who was keeping score?) earbuds drowning out whatever reality was wounding her. He noticed a tear stain on her cheek, which she instinctively scrubbed away with a small hand as he entered. He sat on the edge of the bed, studying her expression for longer than she deemed comfortable. When she finally ripped the buds from her ears, an irritable expression framing her face, he spoke.

“I hated high school too,” he admitted, looking behind him for a moment to make sure Dr. Harmon wasn’t waiting to pounce on him again.

Just a Cup of Coffee:  mysterymanjoseph and shinymetalthing

Joseph had really given up coffee after he was discharged from the Marines.  When you no longer have long patrols and need to stay awake, there is no need to be supercharged on caffeine.  However, there was a chill in the air, and a hot cup might be just the thing.  After parking in front of a small coffee shop he goes in, walks up to the counter, then patiently waits to be noticed.

Two days ago our dog Buster died at age 13. He was our little rascal. I miss him so much already. I want to dedicate this to him, and say thanks to the people who patiently waited for my rp replies because I was depressed. In honor of National Winnie the Pooh Day, this link made me tear up. I’m probably not gonna do rps tonight. Our dog just passed away this evening, and I’m not feelin it tonight. I’m still working on digging a hole for him in the backyard, and I just had to stop for a while. I’ll get back to rps some time tomorrow. Sorry everyone.
